Abstract:

Resumen: La obra de Carmen Conde (Cartagena, 1907-Madrid, 1996) escrita en el período de posguerra establece un profundo diálogo con el tópico del locus amoenus a través de uno de los espacios con los que frecuentemente aparece relacionado, el jardín u hortus conclusus, y de uno de sus elementos constitutivos, la flor. En algunos de los poemas pertenecientes a Ansia de la gracia (1945) e Iluminada tierra (1951), el jardín y el imaginario floral servirán para plantear modelos de identidad femenina que transgreden tanto la imagen pasiva de la mujer proyectada por la literatura patriarcal a través de los tópicos, como la impuesta por el proyecto identitario nacional del régimen de Franco. En este artículo se elabora un marco teórico desde la teoría literaria feminista para el estudio de esta reescritura y se analizan algunos de los textos de Carmen Conde que son representativos de la misma. Abstract: The literary work of Carmen Conde (Cartagena, 1907-Madrid, 1996) written during the post-war period stablishes a deep dialogue with the topic of locus amoenus through one of the spaces which it is frecuently connected to, the garden or hortus conclusus, and through one of its main elements, the flower. In some of the poems in Ansia de la gracia (1945) and Iluminada tierra (1951), the garden and the floral imaginary serve to suggest models of female identity that transgress both the pasive image of women portrayed in male literature and the one imposed by the national identity of Franco’s Regime. In this article I develop a theoretical framework from the perspective of feminist literary criticism for the study of this rewriting and I analize some of the texts by Carmen Conde that are representative of this rewriting.

Abstract:

Gabriel Miró fue el gran maestro de la modernidad y ejerció una decisiva influencia en los escritores españoles de la generación siguiente. Así sucedió con los poetas del 27, que le dedicaron algunos de ellos estudios pioneros. En Levante, en las provincias de Alicante y Murcia, un nutrido grupo de escritores de esa misma generación recibió fructífera influencia de su magisterio y de su obra. Y entre estos escritores, Carmen Conde se convirtió en discípula devota, fiel y permanente. Así se revela tanto en los textos que dedicó al escritor alicantino y en el epistolario mantenido en su juventud como en algunos aspectos de su propia obra literaria. Ella misma lo reconoció en sus escritos de madurez.

Abstract:

En este artículo se analiza la labor desarrollada por Carmen Conde en el Orfanato Nacional de El Pardo como inspectora-celadora de estudios entre octubre de 1934 y septiembre de 1935. En primer lugar, tras exponer la transformación que experimentó este centro en los primeros años de la Segunda República, se estudia la incorporación de Carmen Conde al Orfanato, su labor educativa y la conflictiva relación que mantuvo con los cargos directivos del centro, el patronato y el administrador-depositario, hasta su expulsión en el verano de 1935. En segundo lugar, se examinan los intentos por regresar al Orfanato tras la victoria electoral del Frente Popular en 1936 y su rivalidad con María Teresa Junquera para ocupar la dirección del establecimiento. En tercer lugar, se exponen las circunstancias de la producción y el contenido de su obra La composición literaria infantil: (escuela primaria), fruto de los ensayos que realizó en el Orfanato Nacional de El Pardo para mejorar la expresión oral y escrita de los acogidos. Por último, se analiza esta obra siguiendo la segunda versión de las treinta características de la Escuela Nueva redactadas por Adolphe Ferrière en 1925. Dichas características tratan tanto de la organización de las escuelas como de la vida física y la vida intelectual, así como de la educación social y la educación artística y moral.

Abstract:

En el presente ensayo se estudia la relación entre la correspondencia epistolar de Ernestina de Champourcin y Carmen Conde con la simultánea escritura de sus poemas. A la luz del concepto de habitación propia como espacio imprescindible y necesario para la creación literaria expresado por Virginia Woolf en A Room of One’s Own, las cartas sirven como habitación propia donde ambas poetas pretenden conseguir su autenticidad estética coartada por la sociedad patriarcal en los comienzos del siglo XX en España. La presencia del interlocutor, el desdoblamiento del yo poético y los poemas metapoéticos confluyen en la obligación por parte de la crítica de posicionar el epistolario de las poetas en primer plano, ya que éste sirve como taller y espacio libre para el desarrollo de la estética de las poetas.

Abstract:

The 20th century offers us a wealth of literary authors. The Spanish poets of the 20th century that usually come to mind are mainly male due to the fact that the female poets never received proper recognition and were ignored for many years. The historical events of the 20th century could have ceasedthe literary works of the Spanish authors. However, instead, the Spanish utilized the poetry of protest as a means of rebelling towards their social reality. Not only male poets but also women were extremely prolific in their craft. First during the Civil War and after during the thirty six years of dictatorship that followed in spite of the hardships, censorship and vigorous opposition. A few of these women are Carmen Conde, Rosa Chacel, Ernestina de Champourcin and others. This research studies thecontribution of a few outstanding women poets to the 20th century Spanish literature and language.

Abstract:

Background:Longitudinal studies about the change from non-radiographic axial Spondyloarthritis (nr-axSpA) to r-axSpA (radiographic axial Spondyloarthritis) are scarce but show a 9-10% progression rate over 2 years (1-2) and a 24% progression rate over 10 years in another study (3). However, in early cohorts such as DESIR, this only represents a 5% over 5 years (4).Objectives:The aim of this study was to know the rate of progression from nr-axSpA to r-axSpA over 6 years in the early Esperanza cohort.Methods:This study included 94 patients of the Spanish early spondyloarthritis (SpA) Esperanza cohort, 60 fulfilled the ASAS classification criteria for SpA. Every patient had a baseline and a six years sacroiliac X-ray. Nine readers, blinded for the diagnosis, participated in the reliability exercise, all of them experienced rheumatologists and members of the Spanish spondyloarthritis working group (GRESSER). Patients with SpA were classified as having r-axSpA, at baseline or after 6 years of follow-up, if they fulfilled the radiographic item of the modified New York criteria (mNY) (presence of radiographic changes in the sacroiliac joints -SIJ- of at least grade II bilaterally or grade III or IV unilaterally). The gold standard of SIJ X-Ray was the categorical opinion of at least five of the expert readers. For the statistical analysis, the Chi-square and Kappa tests were performed.Results:Demographic data of the SpA patients were: mean age 33.4±7.5 years; 37 (61.7%) male; mean CRP 6.4±6.5 mg/dl and ESR 10.3±10.6. Present smokers 30.6%; and past smokers 16.3%. HLA-B27 (+) 56.7%. Regarding the presence of X-Ray sacroilitis: 20 patients had baseline sacroilitis and 18 at the final visit; 11 had sacroiliitis at both baseline and final visits; 9 patients changed from baseline sacroiliitis to no-sacroiliitis and 7 changed from baseline no-sacroiliitis to sacroiliitis at the 6 year visit. The reliability of the readers was fair with a mean inter-reader kappa test of 0.375 (range 0.146 - 0.652) and a mean agreement of 73.7% (range 58.7% - 90%).Conclusion:In this group of patients with early SpA no progression from nr-axSpA to r-axSpA over 6 years was observed. Abstract:

The activated carbon was prepared from sycamore bark by activation of zinc chloride. The absorbing effect of activated carbon on Congo red wastewater is studied. The characteristics of sycamore bark activated carbon were characterized by SEM and BET. The effects of adsorbent dosage, time, and shaking speed on the adsorption properties of Congo red by sycamore bark activated carbon were studied. The isotherm, kinetics, and thermodynamics of adsorption were explored. The results revealed that the activated carbon contain a large apparent mesopores. Adsorption efficiency was increased with enhancing the adsorption dosage and time. The removal rate of Conge red reached to 98.2% under room temperature with adsorbent dosage of 3.0 g/L, adsorption time of 120 min, shaking speed of 60r/min. The adsorption of Congo red on sycamore bark activated carbon was followed Langmuir isotherm model and Lagergren pseudo-second order kinetics model. The adsorption was spontaneous, endothermic, and the entropy was increasing in the adsorption process.

Abstract:

ABSTRACT Data from the genome sequence of the aerobic, marine bacterium Roseovarius nubinhibens ISM were interpreted such that 3-sulfolactate would be degraded as a sole source of carbon and energy for growth via a novel bifurcated pathway including two known desulfonative enzymes, sulfoacetaldehyde acetyltransferase (EC 2.3.3.15) (Xsc) and cysteate sulfo-lyase (EC 4.4.1.25) (CuyA). Strain ISM utilized sulfolactate quantitatively with stoichiometric excretion of the sulfonate sulfur as sulfate. A combination of enzyme assays, analytical chemistry, enzyme purification, peptide mass fingerprinting, and reverse transcription-PCR data supported the presence of an inducible, tripartite sulfolactate uptake system (SlcHFG), and a membrane-bound sulfolactate dehydrogenase (SlcD) which generated 3-sulfopyruvate, the point of bifurcation. 3-Sulfopyruvate was in part decarboxylated by 3-sulfopyruvate decarboxylase (EC 4.1.1.79) (ComDE), which was purified. The sulfoacetaldehyde that was formed was desulfonated by Xsc, which was identified, and the acetyl phosphate was converted to acetyl-coenzyme A by phosphate acetyltransferase (Pta). The other portion of the 3-sulfopyruvate was transaminated to (S)-cysteate, which was desulfonated by CuyA, which was identified. The sulfite that was formed was presumably exported by CuyZ (TC 9.B.7.1.1 in the transport classification system), and a periplasmic sulfite dehydrogenase is presumed. Bioinformatic analyses indicated that transporter SlcHFG is rare but that SlcD is involved in three different combinations of pathways, the bifurcated pathway shown here, via CuyA alone, and via Xsc alone. This novel pathway involves ComDE in biodegradation, whereas it was discovered in the biosynthesis of coenzyme M. The different pathways of desulfonation of sulfolactate presumably represent final steps in the biodegradation of sulfoquinovose (and exudates derived from it) in marine and aquatic environments.

Abstract:

The emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) are an objective result of the civiliza-tional development of the world. Ensuring a steady decline in CO2emissions in the condi-tions of economic growth and social welfare requires a structural analysis of systemic de-pendencies. The purpose of the study is to investigate the contribution of different socio--economic factors to the changes in carbon dioxide emissions. A decomposition analysis is performed to examine the pace of CO2emission changes in relation to changes in: emissivi-ty of gross domestic product (GDP), productivity of man-hours, number of employees and working time per employee. Statistical data refer to the Polish economy in the period of 1990—2015.The results provided in this paper show that the economic growth in Poland had the most noticeable contribution to CO2emission changes. The solid growth of economy was ac-companied by decreasing emissivity of GDP. The increase in the labour supply, observed in some periods, contributed to the relative growth of that factor in pollutant emission changes. Considering the growing labour productivity, efforts to increase employment should be correlated with decreasing number of working hours per employee.

Abstract:

The process of carbon dioxide injection into the initial gas-water contact with different rates of its injection, using a 3D model of a gas condensate reservoir, has been investigated. Calculations were carried out for one well injection rate of non-hydrocarbon gas: 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 th.m3/day. According to the calculated results, it has been found that with an increased rate of the carbon dioxide injection into a productive reservoir, the operation duration of production wells decreases until the moment of the carbon dioxide breakthrough. Based on the techno-logical indicators’ analysis of the gas condensate reservoir’s development, it has been found that the introduction of the carbon dioxide injecting technology leads to a reduction in the production of formation water. Due to the injec-tion of non-hydrocarbon gases, a hydrodynamic barrier is created on the initial gas-water contact boundary, which decreases the water influx. Also, the introduction of carbon dioxide injection technology will additionally create an artificial barrier between water and natural gas, which blocks the selective water encroaching and thereby ensure stable waterless operation of production wells. Based on the conducted calculations, the main dependencies have been derived and the corresponding patterns between them have been established. According to the results of the statistical processing of the calculated data, the optimal carbon dioxide injection rate has been determined. At the time of the carbon dioxide breakthrough into the producing well, its optimal well injection rate is 58.17 th.m3/day. The ultimate gas recovery factor for the optimal carbon dioxide injection rate is 63.29 %. Under the same condi-tions during depletion, the ultimate natural gas recovery factor is 53.98%. The results of the carried out studies indicate the technological efficiency of carbon dioxide injection into the initial gas-water contact in order to slow down the formation water encroaching into productive reservoir.

Differences in the marine feeding of three geographically distinct populations of Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) in the North Atlantic (Conne River, Newfoundland; Koksoak River, Ungava Bay, Québec; River Erne, northwest Ireland) were examined using analyses of stable isotopes of carbon and nitrogen (δ13C and δ15N) and contrasted with isotope signatures obtained from a sample of salmon of unknown origin captured in the Labrador Sea. Although the overall range of δ13C and δ15N values (δ13C: from −22.42 to −19.37; δ15N: from 10.70 to 13.38) was similar to that reported by others, significant differences were found among populations and between different sea-age life-history groups. Reported differences in marine feeding between populations from the Northeast and Northwest Atlantic corroborated the stable isotope results. A surrogate measure of lipid content, the C:N ratio, was also compared among 1-sea-winter salmon. The highest levels were associated with the Koksoak River, suggesting that Subarctic populations may require higher energy reserves to contend with their longer migrations and more-severe environmental conditions.

En este artículo se examinan las ilustraciones que la artista argentina Norah Borges (1901-1998) preparó para dos libros de poesía: Canciones de mar y tierra (1930), de Concha Méndez, y Júbilos (1934),de Carmen Conde. Argumentando que el estilo de la artista y su preferencia por la representación de niños y ángeles son ambos ambiguos, Quance viene a sugerir que las ilustraciones pueden ajustarse a diferentes imágenes de lo femenino, ya consistan en la rebeldía y brío de que hace gala la protagonista de Méndez, o en la nostalgia y dulzura con que Carmen Conderecrea su propia niñez. Los dibujos interpretan los textos, por más que la artista cultivara la discreción y la reticencia al respecto.

Para ello se comprueba la vigencia de los instrumentos de protección del patrimonio arquitectónico y su aplicación en la planificación urbanística de la Comunidad Valenciana, tanto a escala territorial como en los ámbitos urbanos de la ciudad de Valencia y núcleos de menor población. Asimismo, se analizan las técnicas de registro y catalogación de inmuebles y la adaptación de las TICS a estas prácticas tradicionales, mediante un sistema “e-heritage” como plataforma digital de datos, que garantice la operatividad de la gestión, y la comunicación y difusión del patrimonio por las administraciones. The document explains the traditional methods of registration and cataloguing and their adaptation to ICT by an e-heritage digital data system, as guarantee of effective heritage policy of preservation, communication and diffusion by public administration. In the same way, the study provides the relation between built heritage management and land use and development regulation of Comunidad Valenciana, either on large territory scale or on urban area of Valencia and underpopulated towns. Given the right study, it provides improvements in the method of heritage identification and designation, as well as progress in built heritage protection rules for Valencian historic towns; furthermore, it contributes to update and digitize the heritage city catalogue of Valencia, with a system exportable to other cities, as a basic tool in cultural heritage management, towards the better identification of the values which cause designation and preservation.Keywords: Urban catalogue / Built heritage / Town planning / Urban Development / Valencia
