Carlopoli, das Bergdorf in Kalabrien, wo der Dichter, Essayist, Literaturwissenschaftler und Übersetzer Carmine Gino Chiellino 1946 geboren wurde, darf als geographische Mitte zwischen Tyrrhenischem und Ionischem Meer betrachtet werden.
