Abstract:
Between the 6th and the 3rd centuries BC, Rome and Carthage defined their political and commercial relations through a series of agreements. "The Philinus treaty" signed in 306 BC and the agreement agreed upon in 279/278 BC revealed the existing tensions and suspicions between the two states at the end of the 6th century BC and in the first decades of the 3rd century BC. The treaties established Italy as an exclusively Roman sphere of influence and Sicily as an area subjected to Carthaginian interests, where the Romans were not allowed to intervene. After King Pyrrhus had left Italy in 275 BC,

Among the many fine articles in this issue, the topic of mentorship strikes a chord. Jeremy Denk in a recent New Yorker recalls several of his piano teachers. How many of us conjure up the ghosts of former mentors or teachers while we are struggling, trying to make sense? [...]

The history of United States (U.S.)-Latin American relations is based on conflict. The U.S. has been accused of exercising dominance over Latin America, which is called its sphere of influence. Although the U.S. did exercise control over a Latin American sphere, it did so for a short period. U.S. influence fell into decline for two reasons. The first occurred when the U.S. attained its peak of power. At this time, the U.S. took the initiative and created democratic oriented regional and international organizations. These provided the States of Latin America a way out of the U.S. sphere. The se

Photovoltaic (PV) technologies are a promising approach to achieve clean, renewable energy production on a global scale. However, the widespread implementation of this technology is limited due to the intricate challenges associated with its complex electrochemical processes. One such challenge is the formation of long-lived charge-separated states (CSSs), a process that directly influences device efficiencies. Viable strategies for increasing CSS lifetimes involve the inhibition of parasitic back-electron transfer pathways. In liquid-junction PVs, electronic recombination is prevented by uti

Abstract:
This report synthesises the city reports of the “Spatial aspects of de-radicalisation” work package from the D.Rad project. Within this work package, we studied mechanisms of inclusion and exclusion in public spaces to relate these dynamics to de-radicalisation processes and issues of social cohesion. We conceptualise public spaces as spaces that are characterised by unequal power relations, and as a realm in which people from different backgrounds have daily encounters. These spaces are not merely physical locations but arenas where societal norms, values, and power structures are negotiated.

DISTRIBUTION OF RESIDUAL STRESS IN THE SPHERE-PIPE CONNECTION WELDS OF WELDED HOLLOW SPHERICAL JOINTS. The Hong Kong Institute of Steel Construction, 2023. http://dx.doi.org/10.18057/ijasc.2023.19.3.7.

Abstract:
Welded hollow spherical joint is widely used in large-span spatial structures due to its simple structure, clear mechanical behavior and convenient connection. However, a large number of sphere-pipe connection welds at the joints will inevitably produce complex welding residual stress, which will have adverse effects on the stiffness of the joints and the overall safety of the structure. Focusing on the sphere-pipe connection welds on the hollow spherical joints, this paper keeps track of the whole process of sphere-pipe welding, analyzes and summarizes the distribution law and specific distri

EAEU INTEGRATION PROCESSES AND RUSSIAN FEDERATION LEGISLATION IN THE ECONOMY. DOI CODE, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.18411/2706-1962-2020-00001.

Abstract:
Interstate integration in the modern world is actively developing, and as a result - similar processes are observed in the sphere of law. In this regard, it is clear that there is a need to reflect and identify general trends in the transformation of Russian legislation under the influence of integration processes. Given that integration processes primarily affect the economic spheres of activity, which are governed more by business legislation, it can be assumed that the greatest impact of integration processes is observed in this branch of law. This article is devoted to one of the pressing
