Abstract: After demonetization, there was a massive requirement for currency notes, but the government was unable to provide the required quantity of currency notes, and also Indian government wanted to promote cashless transactions. UPI is built over Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) for transferring funds using Virtual Payment Address (a unique ID provided by the bank). Unified Payments Interface is a payment system launched by (NPCI), which is National Payments Corporation of India, and is regulated by the (RBI) Reserve Bank of India, which provides the facility of instant fund transfer between two bank accounts online through payment apps. Digital transactions by UPI have been made very easy. The UPI service is available 24X7, and it is not like RTGS and NEFT, which do not work on holidays and non-banking hours. This will bring tremendous efficiency to the system and help India become a cashless economy. Keywords: Digital illiteracy, Online payments, cashless economy UPI, Mobile phone, digital payment mode

Abstract:
The purpose of the study is to cashless payments in the Republic of Kazakhstan and their impact on the development of households and entrepreneurship. Improving cashless payments is closely related to the overall development of technology. The speed, convenience, and security of non-cash payments are growing from year to year. Cashless payment is a relevant and convenient form of payment in the life of every citizen, due to its availability for all legal entities and individuals. This trend is widespread and qualitatively increasing. There is also a trend of rapid penetration of non-cash payments into the financial market. This is due to convenience, the developing market of digital services, and payments, as well as the growing competitiveness of banks. The main research methods were general theoretical methods, as well as special economic and mathematical methods. Based on the study of the organization of cashless settlement in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the analysis of the work with the cashless settlement, the following recommendations were made to improve the system of cashless settlement to Kazakhstani enterprises: introduction of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) into the economic activities of enterprises; improvement of the electronic money system by creating platforms for seamless operation of data transfer. The practical significance of the study is determined by the fact that the proposals made by the authors on the improvement of the cashless payment system can be used to improve this system.

Abstract:
Cashless financial transactions require information technology to transfer funds for the payment of needs, expenditures, and local government revenues. The potential that causes fraud and corruption can be minimized with non-cash transactions because financial transactions are more transparent. This study aims to identify fraud prevention strategies by implementing a cashless policy. This research was conducted systematically through an article search engine using the keywords "Casslhless" and "Fraud," which was then entered into the Scopus journal search engine based on secondary data in the publish or perish application 8. Then, journals and articles were selected based on the title theme and looked at the quality of the article. The result of this study is that local government payment system innovations have led to changes in payment options by switching to non-cash transactions that are safer, more effective, and efficient. Cashless payments can prevent corrupt practices such as money laundering, bribery, and commissions for services or procurement. People will use non-cash transactions if the local government forces non-cash payments in urban and rural areas with the support of the internet and promising technology. Local governments must report further non-cash payments and prioritize non-cash payments and make policies and innovations such as payment of social assistance to the community using digital money and payment of retribution using non-cash to increase local revenue. Keywords: Cashless, Corruption, Fraud.

Abstract:
Thesis (MTech (Information Technology))--Cape Peninsula University of Technology, 2017.
Over the past decade there was an increase in the availability and usage of cashless payment methods in Africa. Cashless payments allow users to make payments without using cash, and offer multiple benefits to both customers and merchants. These benefits include reduced costs, improved sales, improved security, convenience, etc. However, despite the increased variety, availability and popularity of cashless payment solutions in Africa, the usage of cashless payments methods in Africa is still mostly limited to money remittance and retail payments. While formal traders such as retailers are slowly adopting and reaping the benefits of cashless payments, the large majority of informal traders across the continent are yet to adopt cashless payments and still limited to use cash as their main (and often only) payment method. How cash and cashless payment methods differ from the informal trader’s point of view is not known yet; this study seeks to understand why cashless payment methods are yet to gain popularity amongst informal traders and meanwhile cash is widely adopted and used. This research analyses the characteristics, needs and limitations of informal traders and evaluates the ability of both cash and cashless payment methods to satisfy their payment needs.

Abstract:
Bachelor final work examines e-banking services of the commercial banks operating in Lithuania, for the period of year 2006 – 2010. The first part presents the theoretical aspects of electronic banking. The second part of the work presents the carried out analysis of electronic banking services: the figures of established banking income from electronic banking services were quite unevenly distributed; the number of users of electronic banking is increasing for all banks. Non-cash payments were compared to the cash payments, which showed that most non-cash money is used for transactions of large sums of money. The evaluation of payment card operations showed that residents of Lithuania in period of year 2006 – 2010 tended to pay with cash, but this trend should change in the future. The correlation – regression analysis showed that there is inverse relation between non-cash payments and cash payments and direct relation between non-cash payments and Lithuanian’s GDP. The qualitative assessment of prospects for online banking showed that e-banking in Lithuania continues to grow.

Abstract:
With the emergence of near-field technology (NFC), mobile terminal have become a true instrument of contactless payment. This type of system is a new opportunity to boost the electronic payment systems (EPS) for the micropayment. The objective of this research is to develop a model and measurement tools to handle and to identify factors influencing the acceptance of these systems. Based on the paradigms of the acceptance of technology and research around the SPE, we have developed a conceptual model which integrates the UTAUT and TTF. This model allows both to consider the adoption strategies of individuals and their intention to adopt. Indeed, perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use and facilitating conditions are no longer sufficient for a technology to be adopted. The capabilities of this technology have to match the tasks that the user will perform. Our result have been measured and validated thanks to structural equations analysis of data collected from a sample of 629 individuals

Abstract:
Sweden is known for being at the forefront of becoming a cashless society. However, cash continues to be an important part of the payment ecosystem butthere are limited studies and data regarding the preference for holding cash. Previousstudies have shown that the use of cash is declining with regards to comers and thatthere are behavior differences between cultures and sociodemographic groups inregards to characteristics and preferences for payment methods. The aim of thisstudy was to investigate the informational attributes that drives the preference forholding cash by studying two extreme cases, Sweden which is a pioneer of cashlesssociety, and Germany which is one of the most conservative cash-intensivecountries in the Western world. Primary quantitative data was derived fromstandardized questionnaires issued in both countries by Loomis AB; the data wasdescribed and analyzed with applicable statistical procedures. A multivariate analysiswas performed on a specific segment of the collected data were the respondents hadbeen asked to rate cash associated statements based on their agreeableness towardsthem. These segments were then examined through a Principal component analysisto determine the underlying dimensions regarding preferences for cash. Our resultssuggest that Germans withdrew cash more frequently, from a wider spectrum ofdenominations and carried it to a larger extend than Swedes. Swedes made limitedwithdrawals, of small denominations and preferred to carry smaller amounts of cash. The results also show that there were differences in the perception and preferencesfor cash between sociodemographic groups, with e.g. older age groups being used to itand the youngest using it due to ‘status quo bias’. The main conclusions include thatthe informational attributes such as security, anonymity, ease of use and paymentinfrastructure was the main drives for the preferences of holding cash.

Money is whatever is generally accepted in Exchange for goods and represents a temporary adobe of purchasing power to be used for buyng still other goods and service. the coming of the checkless and cashless society will involve a shift from the check or document system to an electronic system. The order will be transmitted via electronic impulse initiated at a terminal in the merchant's establishment. The merchant will be paid at the instant of the cardholder's order transmittal by means of a credit to his account: the cardholder's account will be debited at the same time. In Italian civil code art. 1277 there is nominalistic principle that applies to fluctuations in the value of money , that means if an obligation to pay one euro was incurred in 2010 but payable in 2020, it remains an obligation to pay one euro. This paper analyze the evolution of concept of money and the consequences about nominalistic principle, paying attention to different way to perform the duties of money obligation.

Abstract:
The digital payment industry has become one of the fastest evolving markets in the world, but in the wake of its rapid advancement, an ever increasing gap between academic theory and the actual reality of this market widens - and especially so when it comes to entry theory. It is widely acknowledged that the world is moving towards an ever more homogeneous economy, but despite the fact that payment preferences differ greatly from country to country - research on this subject continues to revolve mainly around localized efforts. But as historical inequalities between poor and rich societies continue to dissipate - learning from nations at the forefront of technological advancement increases the likelihood that the developed strategy becomes applicable to an increased number of countries. By selecting a nation most conducive to technological growth, the purpose of this report is to map the present dynamics in its digital payment industry using both recent and traditional market entry theory. However, studies geared towards globalized strategy formulation cannot be assumed as having guaranteed access to internal company-data at all times. So in order to facilitate such studies, the level of dependency on primary data required for conducting such research needs to be understood first, which is why the work in this report is constrained strictly to data of secondary nature. This, not only to further map the characteristics of this market, but also to see how open the market is to public inspection. Ultimately, the academic contribution becomes that of providing a road-map towards adapting currently available market entry theory to suit the rapidly evolving conditions of the digital payment industry from a global perspective and, when failing to do so, the aim is to also explore avenues for further research towards this end goal.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose is to develop a greater understanding of what is requested by customers with regards to e-commerce and mobile payments and how managers attitude can affect the technological adaption process. Furthermore, a suggested framework will be presented on how SMEs can adapt to these changes. Problem – The move towards the cashless society has changed the business environment and increased the demand for mobile payments and e-commerce. The transition to implement new technologies requires resources in terms of time, money and knowledge. Therefore, this process can be challenging for SMEs. Design-Methodology-Approach – Primary data is collected through case studies and secondary data from previous research conducted. Two SMEs within the retail business in Jönköping is investigated using semi-structured interviews. The combined data is analyzed together with previous literature within the field. Findings – The findings show that customers’ demand of e-commerce and mobile payments has increased. A positive correlation between managers’ attitude towards new technology and the implementation process is found. To adapt to these technological changes, it is important for SME managers to invest equally in knowledge and technology.

Abstract:
Around the globe, countries move away from banknotes and coins in the favor of digitized payments. A number of findings from academic research conclude various benefits associated with decreased cash usage, such as enhanced economic development, less costs for governments and banks, financial transparency as well as lower economic-related crime rates. In a light of various benefits moving towards cashless payments, it is hypothesized that there also could be a relationship between how innovative a country is and how much cash circulates in economy. The relationship could be both-sided like less cash circulation can trigger innovation and, at the same time, adoption of cashless payments could be driven by how innovative a country is. To be able to investigate a potential correlation, a correlation analysis is conducted between the two variables: an innovation level of a country and cash circulation in econom. The Global Innovation Index score will be used to summarize various factors that provide an overview of national innovation performance, and percentage of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) will be used for currency in circulation. According to the findings, the hypothesis that there is a correlation between cash circulation and innovation performance in a country could not be rejected with a 5% significance level.

Abstract:
This commentary analyses Article 6.1.7 of the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts (PICC) concerning payment by cheque or other instrument. According to Art 6.1.7, payment may be made in any form used in the ordinary course of business at the place for payment. However, an obligee who accepts a cheque, any other order to pay or a promise to pay, is presumed to do so only on condition that it will be honoured. This commentary discusses cashless payment in general and the payment methods accepted by the PICC, the structure of cashless payment methods and their systematization, payment through ‘push-orders’ and ‘pull-orders’, effects of acceptance of a pull-order on the payment obligation, place and time of performance of pull-order, risk of loss or theft of pull-order, and risk of pull-orders being dishonoured.

Abstract:
Cashless payments have become increasingly popular around the world because of their numerous advantages. More so, the cashless payment adoption has been escalated during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, there is a lack of holistic studies on the adoption and contemporary practices of cashless payments. The purpose of this study is, therefore, to provide a comprehensive understanding by identifying the participating actors and their crucial role in the payment ecosystem. Thus, the paper aims to address two research questions: i) Who are the participating actors in the cashless payment ecosystem? and ii) What are the determinant factors for the actors to adopt the cashless payment ecosystem? Through scoping literature review of 63 articles published in the last seven years (2015-2021), six participating ecosystem actors are identified with their determinant factors. The study contributes towards addressing adoption issues and serves as a basis for future empirical investigation.

Abstract:
Abstract This research proposes a framework for designing tangibility into abstract interactions such as managing financial resources, health concerns and environmental impacts. A case study of the tangibility within cashless payments is presented, which adopted this framework to design, fabricate and test a tangible interaction in digital transactions. Digital transactions can significantly influence a consumer’s spending habits and decisions, commonly leading to increased expenditure compared to cash transactions. Several psychological mechanisms which influence conscientious spending due to differing payment methods were analyzed and employed to design a prototype incorporating a tangible interaction that is relevant to the consumer’s spending process. It is proposed that re-introducing tangibility into the payment process can increase one’s psychological ownership over their financial resources and purchased item, as well as the aversion towards paying. Results from the experiments show that the interaction enhances psychological ownership over digital currency but remain inconclusive on behavior change. The broader implications of enhancing tangibility for intangible objects is discussed.

Abstract:
In the modern world more and more people prefer electronic money and are trying to go cashless. With the evolution of technologies, in recent years, modern methods of settlement through electronic payment systems have begun to break through the market of the Republic of Moldova (with delay, compared to Western countries) and to be widely used. Settlers in this respect have been and are IT companies, which interact more intensively with business partners (suppliers and customers) abroad and already make extensive use of such electronic payment systems. Subsequently, electronic payment systems started to be used by companies operating in the retail sector. Such economic entities are becoming participants in a new form of trade, which has been growing in recent times and offers domestic traders and producers the opportunity to enter foreign markets more easily, quickly and efficiently. In this context, this article examines the issues related to accounting for the RunPay MDL payment system.

Abstract:
Digital merchant payments – transactions between traders, or between traders and customers using digital means of payment – can promote tax compliance by providing access to safer, quicker formal payments for consumers, and leaving a digital trail of sales data that can be accessed by tax administration. This study examines how far the potential of digital merchant payments to increase tax compliance is being realised in Rwanda, and whether fees imposed by mobile network operators on digital financial services (DFS) can hinder both DFS adoption and tax compliance. It uses original survey data from 1,100 merchants country-wide, administrative data from the Rwanda Revenue Authority (RRA), focus group discussions and in-depth interviews. Rwanda is an interesting context in which to study digital merchant payments, as these are expected to reach 80 per cent of GDP by 2024.1 Particularly popular are mobile money payments, performed either through the person-to-business payment option MoMo Pay or through standard personal accounts. The country’s commitment to creating a cashless economy was accelerated due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Summary of Working Paper 159.
