Abstract:
Purpose: The prevalence of cashless payments has increased globally owing to their myriad benefits. Furthermore, the use of cashless payments has also increased. Nevertheless, there is a need for more comprehensive research on the acceptance and current methodologies of cashless transactions. This study aims to gain a thorough understanding by identifying the entities involved and their pivotal functions in the payment ecosystem. Research Methodology: This report seeks to answer two research questions: i) Which factors are involved in the cashless payment ecosystem? What key elements influence the players in adopting a cashless payment ecosystem? Six key ecosystem players and their influencing elements were identified by comprehensively evaluating 63 publications published between 2015 and 2021. Results: Several benefits are associated with cashless payments, which have led to their growing popularity worldwide. Furthermore, during the COVID-19 epidemic, there was a significant increase in the use of cashless payment methods. Limitations: On the other hand, more holistic studies on the widespread use of cashless payment methods and their respective modern behaviors are needed. Contribution: In addition to providing a foundation for further empirical research, this study contributes to resolving adoption-related concerns. Novelty: This study’s original approach to understanding the various elements driving cashless payment system development by focusing on participant roles and functions is unique. Unlike previous studies, this study examines human dynamics rather than technology or regulatory issues.

Introduction. Digitalization of the market economy creates conditions for minimizing cash payments. The abandonment from cash payments is justified by positive trends in: distancing e-commerce, the use of cashless payment systems and pandemic changes in socio-economic processes. Changes in the cash payments methods require the introduction of accounting and information systems for electronic recording of money operations, accounting and reporting of payment transactions, guarantees for the safety and control of cashless money.Purpose. The aim of the article is to research the evolution of accounting and information systems in the implementation of cashless payments in international and domestic markets for payment services, theoretical justification of the definition of «cashless payments» and develop proposals for their streamlining.Method. Methods of scientific research are: systematic approach to the study of economic processes, elements of the theory of scientific knowledge, dialectical method to determine the essence of cashless payments; historical - to research the evolution of cashless payments; analytical - to assess modern information systems for the organization and accounting of cashless payments.Results. The research of the cashless payments evolution shown the permanence changes in the methods of conducting money transactions. The accounting and information system of enterprises and corporations must timely respond on innovative transformations. The article improves and regulates the elements of the conceptual apparatus for cashless payments using bank payment cards, electronic money and other modern payment methods for the developing of their registration and reflection in accounting and reporting. Perspectives. Technological progress and the COVID-19 pandemic have become the driving force of society’s transition to expanding the cashless payment regime. Technologies for remote banking and non-banking payment systems are permanently improving. Accounting and information systems for providing complete and objective information to business and society should be in line with this progress.

Abstract:
Cashless payments are widely used for making payments between individuals and companies worldwide. Vendors have been drawn to these payment methods due to their perceived ease of use and low cost of transaction equipment. This study explores different payment methods and discusses the benefits of cashless payment, some drawbacks are mentioned for balance. The study systematically reviews several scholarly papers to assess non-cash payment methods and digital payment advantages. The method used in this study was based on secondary data that’s mainly a review of what other respected authors have published. No fieldwork was implemented aside from reading and comparing papers on cashless payment systems. The study discovered various digital payment approaches with advantages. Regardless of the difficulties encountered by users in the daily use of these e-money systems, the global trend is shifting towards a cashless economy. It is important to note that the cashless payment system is fast growing, and its benefits cannot be overlooked even though some downsides have also been recorded such as perceived risks, Insufficient security, the absence of government engagement in certain digital payment systems, such as Cryptocurrency, discourages financial institutions.

Abstract:
This study aims to determine the effect of Cashless payments with the QR Code system, and Percieved Trust on Shopeepay user satisfaction, cashless payments with the QR Code system have a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction, Percieved Trust has a positive and significant effect on user satisfaction. This research method is descriptive qualitative. The data used are secondary and primary data. Survey collection method and questionnaire instrument with Likert scale. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis, namely multiple linear regression statistical tests using SPSS version 24. The results of the study showed that the cashless payment variable with a Sig value of 0.000 <0.05 and the Percieved Trust variable with a Sig value of 0.000 <0.05. Conclusions, namely a) if it is better and easier to transact using a cashless or cashless payment system, customer satisfaction will increase; b) if more and more trust is felt, then customer satisfaction will increase.

The purpose of the study is to cashless payments in the Republic of Kazakhstan and their impact on the development of households and entrepreneurship. Improving cashless payments is closely related to the overall development of technology. The speed, convenience, and security of non-cash payments are growing from year to year. Cashless payment is a relevant and convenient form of payment in the life of every citizen, due to its availability for all legal entities and individuals. This trend is widespread and qualitatively increasing. There is also a trend of rapid penetration of non-cash payments into the financial market. This is due to convenience, the developing market of digital services, and payments, as well as the growing competitiveness of banks. The main research methods were general theoretical methods, as well as special economic and mathematical methods. Based on the study of the organization of cashless settlement in the Republic of Kazakhstan and the analysis of the work with the cashless settlement, the following recommendations were made to improve the system of cashless settlement to Kazakhstani enterprises: introduction of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) into the economic activities of enterprises; improvement of the electronic money system by creating platforms for seamless operation of data transfer. The practical significance of the study is determined by the fact that the proposals made by the authors on the improvement of the cashless payment system can be used to improve this system.

Banks worldwide provide applications that help customers manage money transfers and their financial affairs as cashless payment methods become more common. ArCa serves as the Republic of Armenia's unified payment system which enables most markets to accept non-cash transactions. Even though there is a worldwide movement to minimize cash transactions financial systems continue to heavily rely on cash. The research examines how age and employment status affect Armenians' payment practices and cash usage patterns. While earlier studies found no gender-based differences in payment preferences they showed older generations and specific demographics like rural inhabitants prefer cash payments. The study employed a questionnaire administered to roughly 300 participants who ranged in age from 18 to 58 and included both employed and unemployed individuals. The study results were evaluated against existing surveys that document payment behavior patterns. The research shows electronic payment methods are preferred to cash mainly by younger demographics which supports Rogers' innovation diffusion theory emphasizing attributes such as relative advantage and technological compatibility. Respondents aged 41 on average preferred cash payments while the youngest group with an average age between 26 to 30 opted for mobile payment apps for tasks like utility bill payments and phone charging because these payment systems seamlessly integrated with their smartphone usage. Employment status also influenced preferences: People without jobs who receive cash-based benefits like pensions tended to use cash whereas working people chose card payments. Respondents who preferred cash transactions demonstrated confidence in digital payment systems through their use of applications for paying utilities. The research illustrates Armenia's progress toward a cashless economy as payment behaviors evolve with age and employment alongside technology adoption provides valuable predictions about future payment system choices.

Abstract: After demonetization, there was a massive requirement for currency notes, but the government was unable to provide the required quantity of currency notes, and also Indian government wanted to promote cashless transactions. UPI is built over Immediate Payment Service (IMPS) for transferring funds using Virtual Payment Address (a unique ID provided by the bank). Unified Payments Interface is a payment system launched by (NPCI), which is National Payments Corporation of India, and is regulated by the (RBI) Reserve Bank of India, which provides the facility of instant fund transfer between two bank accounts online through payment apps. Digital transactions by UPI have been made very easy. The UPI service is available 24X7, and it is not like RTGS and NEFT, which do not work on holidays and non-banking hours. Abstract:
Before the introduction of the cashless policy by the Central Bank of Nigeria in 2011, the Nigerian economy was heavily cash-oriented in its transaction of goods and services contrary to the global trends. With the aid of paired data samples between 2007 and 2017, this study evaluates the impact of cashless policy on the Nigerian payment system. The operations of a cashless economy were assessed based on the use of Cheques, funds transfer channels and Automated Teller Machines (ATMs). Analysis of data showed that the volume and usage of cheques as a means of financial settlement has failed and was partially replaced by electronic payment systems. Banks are getting more involved in the use of interbank fund transfers rather than a cash settlement. It was also ascertained that the use of ATM’s as a means of financial intermediation is increasing. It is anticipated that the use of ATMs will become even more popular in Nigeria in the near future. To some extent, the outcome of the study has justified the implementation of the cashless policy initiative in Nigeria. However, the innovation and operations of the policy are not without its related limitations. There are various challenges associated with its practice, ranging from poor infrastructural facilities and difficulty in imbibing the e-payment culture due to illiteracy. Other socio-cultural factors that constitute an impediment include celebrations like weddings, birthdays and festivals. On such occasions, Nigerians prefer to ”display or spray raw cash’’ rather than issuing cheques. Thus, more effort needs to be put in place by the regulatory authority to re-orientate the masses and to encourage the use of E–payments channels, cheques, funds transfer options and, owning/ operating of bank accounts. This will give a further boost to the development of the Nigerian payment system.

The cashless payment system has experienced significant growth within the banking industry due to its convenience and numerous benefits, which makes cashless payments more appealing to consumers than traditional cash transactions. Despite these advantages, customers face barriers that hinder the full adoption of cashless payment systems. At the same time, customer trust plays a vital role in the adoption process, with factors like reliability, transparency, security, privacy, and responsiveness in digital payment platforms. This research aims to examine the barriers and trust determinants of cashless payment adoption using a convenience sampling method with a sample size of 120 respondents from Kanyakumari District. The results indicate that security concerns, digital illiteracy, and inadequate infrastructure are the primary barriers, while privacy, security measures, responsiveness, and reliability are critical in building trust among users. The study suggests various measures such as improving infrastructure, enhancing security features, and educating customers to promote the growth and adoption of cashless payment systems. Addressing these barriers and enhancing the understanding of customer trust will foster the rapid growth and adoption of cashless payment systems.

It has been suggested that cashless payment system can enhance tourism experience and provide competitive advantage to market destinations. Currently, governments are actively promoting a cashless society in tourism sector. However, the study of the acceptance of tourists on cashless payment technology in destinations is still rarely found. This study aims to investigate the acceptance of cashless payment using Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). To achieve the objective, a survey was carried out to confirm the relationship between cashless acceptance, attitude and the behavioral intention of cashless technology. In addition, Perceived Risk Reducer and Familiarity were also introduced to the model. The study found drivers of attitude regarding acceptance of cashless payment system and an understanding on how customer’s response to the idea of using cashless payment in tourism setting.

Palm Payment System incorporates fingerprint biometrics in the palm of the hand to facilitate payments, making it safer and more reliable as long as we have a balance, internet network and hands. Descriptive qualitative research methods are research approaches used to describe certain phenomena or events by understanding and describing in depth the characteristics, context, and complexity of the phenomenon. The use of Palm Payment System is in accordance with Islamic finance principles that uphold transparency, honesty, and fairness in business. However, it needs to be improved in supporting infrastructure, the level of community adoption and adaptation. Security and privacy should not be leaked. Accessibility for people with physical disabilities who cannot use palm payment. The development of the digital economy presents new, increasingly diverse financial service products. One of them is non-cash payments or cashless payments, which are the latest innovations and are increasingly prevalent in buying and selling payments to MSMEs. This study aims to find out how the Cashless system is implemented in the MSME sector in the city of Medan, then to find out how the Islamic economic perspective is in implementing the Cashless payment system. This study uses a qualitative research method with data collection techniques, namely by observation, interviews, documentation on the UMKM posbloc in Medan city as well as a study of the literature to be analyzed with the author's observations to answer the formulation of the problem on this problem. The results of this study show that the Cashless system used by the Medan city posbloc is in several ways, namely debit cards, credit cards or by scanning the QRIS code (Quick Response Code Indonesian Standard). APMK (Payment using a card) or with a QRIS scan which has been promoted by Bank Indonesia provides convenience in making transactions with a cashless system without cash more efficiently and effectively. According to the Islamic economic perspective, QRIS is permissible because there is no usury in buying and selling payments to MSMEs. However, there are still a number of obstacles in the implementation of the cashless posbloc payment system in Medan city, one of which is the internet which is not stable enough, and the lack of outreach.

Thus, there is a need to have a cashless transaction system that is fast as well as secure and allows hassle-free transactions. This Work propose a novel approach to develop an advanced cashless payment system based on RFID that can be deployed anywhere to enable faster smoother, and secure transactions. The users of the system will have to be pre- registered and all the user-related information will be saved in a MySQL database the system will be programmed using HTML, CSS, and PHP or any supporting back-end programming language. The RFID reader will interact with a microcontroller ESP32 WROOM and the Microcontroller will be connected with an application using a WIFI module built into the micro-controller. The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the development of FinTech and the transition to cashless payments of the population of various countries, including Kazakhstan. For provision of cashless payments there are created platforms which work in NFC &amp; MFS systems, they protected by security protocols (Secure Element (SE)) and allow to store confidential user data. Changes in the business model of banks have led to the emergence of a new format of banking products and services that can be used through smartphones (the main operating systems Android and iOS). The goal of the study is to analyze the dynamics of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the use of cashless payments through national payment systems in Kazakhstan. Based on the goal, a null and an alternative hypothesis were set, of which the second was confirmed in the result. Research methods used to write this article are economic and statistical analysis and synthesis, graphical method, analysis of the series of dynamics. The data for the study was taken from the NBK Statistical Bulletin: data on cashless payments through the Interbank System of Money Transfer (ISMT) and the Interbank Clearing System (ICS) for the period from 2002 to 2020. The impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the dynamics of the transformation of cashless payments made by using financial technologies has been proved. Recommendations for further improvement of the financial system are given. The development of national payment systems makes it possible to reduce the level of fraud in the financial sector, to increase the speed of cashless transfers and level out transaction errors. Study limitation: only national payment systems ISMT and ICS were used.

Abstract Repeated payments create a certain habit in terms of the preferred payment method. Its formation stems from the simultaneous effect of a variety of factors, while its persistent character implies a difficulty in its change. The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has influenced the terms of how society functions, thus affecting multiple spheres of people’s lives, including making purchases and payments. The aim of this paper is to identify and present the multidimensional impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on payment method preferences of people in Poland. The results indicate that the COVID-19 pandemic has stimulated the shrinkage of cash exchanges while at the same time made the tendency to use cashless payment methods grow. Cash payments are a path for viral transmissions and, thus, a potential source of infection and viewing them as an unsafe payment method effected the turn to cashless forms of payment. Systematization of literary sources and approaches to problem solving shows that this process requires improvement of modern technologies and new habits.The urgency of solving this scientific problem is that the development of the payment infrastructure ensures economic activity, creating conditions for the movement of funds between participants in economic circulation and provides an opportunity to effectively use financial resources that affect the stability of the financial system, the cost of operations, the liquidity of the banking system and, in general, the effective operation of the economy. Research topic development of the payment infrastructure in the context of the growth of cashless payments in Ukraine is carried out in the following logical sequence: relevance is determined; the performance indicators of the payment infrastructure in Ukraine were evaluated; the value of the correlation coefficient and the closeness of the relationship between the number of non-cash transactions and the payment infrastructure were determined.The methodological tools of the research methods were the last few years of research. This study aims to identify fraud prevention strategies by implementing a cashless policy. This research was conducted systematically through an article search engine using the keywords "Casslhless" and "Fraud," which was then entered into the Scopus journal search engine based on secondary data in the publish or perish application 8. Then, journals and articles were selected based on the title theme and looked at the quality of the article. The result of this study is that local government payment system innovations have led to changes in payment options by switching to non-cash transactions that are safer, more effective, and efficient. Cashless payments can prevent corrupt practices such as money laundering, bribery, and commissions for services or procurement. People will use non-cash transactions if the local government forces non-cash payments in urban and rural areas with the support of the internet and promising technology. This study aims to analyze the impact of cashless payments on Indonesia’s economy, before and during the COVID-19 pandemic. The economic growth in this study is calculated through GDP at constant price and the cashless payment in this study are represented by transactions through debit card, credit card, and e-money. The data used in this study uses secondary data in the form of time series data from January 2018 to December 2022. The data was obtained from the Central Bank of Indonesia (BI) statistic data and Statistics Indonesia (BPS). The analytical method used in this study is the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL). Based on the results of estimations indicate that in the short run as well as in the long run, debit card and credit card have an insignificant impact on economic growth, while e-money has a positive and significant impact. Cashless payment has a significant positive impact on economic growth, before and during COVID-19 pandemic, however during the pandemic, the impact of cashless payment on economic growth was bigger. As a result, the current cashless policy should be modified to create an efficient payment system while also considering the impact of using cashless payment instruments during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Recording financial statements has many benefits for business stakeholders. This study aims to determine the direct effect of QRIS cashless payment system on accountability and the effect of QRIS cashless payment system on accountability through recording financial statements. This research method uses the Partial Last Square Model (Smart PLS) quantitative approach, data collection through questionnaires with a population of 537 MSMEs and a sample of 85 respondents was taken. The results of this study explain that the QRIS cashless payment system has a direct effect on accountability, where the higher the use of QRIS cashless payment system, the higher the accountability of MSME actors, because the QRIS can be observed and recorded according to the number of transactions in the system, so it automatically produces information related to transactions that have a high level of accountability. The cashless payment system with QRIS has an indirect effect on accountability through the recording of financial statements, where the higher the use of the cashless payment system with QRIS mediated by the recording of financial statements, the higher the accountability of MSME actors because all transactions can be explained in detail and can be used as information for management and support to stakeholders.

Although the number of cash transactions in the community has decreased, the rate of money creates a high intensity with the use of cashless transactions. If the power of money circulation is high, it is feared that it will cause inflationary effects. This study aims to determine the impact of the cashless payment system on inflation. A quantitative approach was used in this study with secondary data which in the source obtained through documentation techniques obtained from Bank Indonesia (BI) and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). from January 2009 until December 2020. The analysis technique uses multiple linear regression analysis. The results showed that the electronic-money variables had a significant negative effect, the debit card variables had a significant positive impact, the credit card variables had an insignificant negative effect, and the interest rate variables had a significant positive impact.

QR code payment emerged as the most popular as it does not require traditional infrastructure such as cards, payment networks, merchant accounts, and payment processing terminals.The research method used a quantitative method with linear regression analysis; three variables measured were: Perceived usefulness the subjective probability that technology can improve the way a consumer completes his goal and efficiency refers to an individual's perception that using a particular system will be effortless or, simply, easy to handle as independent variables and determined the intention to use the QR on the payment system as a dependent variable. The object of this research is the payment system for customers as the unit of analysis. The results show that perceived usefulness and efficiency are determinants of the future intention to use this technology. The conclusions and implications for management provide alternatives for small businesses to promote this new business by means of the new technical developments.

Congestion can take a lot of time for people. Congestion does not only occur on roads but also occurs in public facilities such as parking facilities. where one of the causes is the queue in and out of parking in the business area, which has an impact on discomfort. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness of the cash and non-cash payment service queuing system in terms of waiting time and service time. The stages of the research are observation, data collection on service time, data sampling, data processing and analysis using the discrete event simulation (DES) approach, validation, and suggestions for improvement. The results of the analysis show that the payment system with the cashless method is more effective than the cash payment method. Therefore, the cashless method can be used as a reference for parking service providers in the modern market to be implemented in a parking payment system, with an average service time of the Cashless method of 15.2365 seconds compared to an average service time of the cash method of 42.6812 seconds. seconds or an increase in server time from cash to cashless by 2.81% and a decrease in waiting time using cashless compared to cash by 9.31%. To conduct this study questionnaires were distributed to all active accounting students at Airlangga University and from there, 128 research samples were obtained. The collected data were analyzed using WarpPLS 8.0. The results show that effort expectancy and social influence have a positive effect on the intention to use cashless payment systems. The result also shows that the intention to use cashless payment systems has a positive effect on the actual usage of cashless payment systems. In addition, the research results indicate that financial literacy does not moderate the effect of effort expectancy and social influence on the intention to use cashless payment. The results of this study are expected to provide insight and a better understanding of financial literacy and cashless payment system.

This research aims to analyze the effect of cashless payment policy on consumer behavior at Kesiangan Coffee, Batam City. With the increasing use of technology in various aspects of life, especially in the payment sector, it is important to understand how cashless policies affect consumer behavior. This study used a survey method with questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS software, and it included validity, reliability, and linear regression analysis. The results showed that the R-value was 0.128 and the R Square was 0.165, indicating that only 16.5% of the variation in the cashless payment policy could be explained by consumer behavior. The validity and reliability test results show that all research instruments are valid and reliable, but the influence of consumer behavior on this policy is still relatively low. This finding suggests that other more dominant factors, such as technological infrastructure, level of security, and consumer demographics, influence the acceptance of cashless payments. Therefore, it is recommended that relevant parties, such as financial institutions and the government, focus on education and infrastructure development to increase the acceptance of this payment system among the public. Further research is needed to explore other factors that play a role in influencing cashless payment policies, so that more effective strategies can be implemented to encourage the use of this technology in various sectors.

The peculiarities and contradictions of cashless economy in the institutional interpretation are studied, the world experience of its development is analyzed in the context of the harmonization of cashless economy creation in Ukraine. In order to achieve the set goals, the current state of Ukraine’s digital financial sector development is characterized, the peculiarities of liquidity circulation under martial law are shown, and on this basis it is concluded that, despite the formation of a state-of-the-art payment space in Ukraine, in crisis conditions, a return to archaic payment mechanisms, capable to support the integrity of the economic system, is possible. The institutional analysis made it possible to draw conclusions that digital financial services are a contradictory phenomenon, which, on the one hand, can partially offset the lack of market institutions and values (especially in certain countries of dependent development), yet on the other hand, it thwarts the formation of a full-fledged public demand for market institutions. Based on the analysis of the world experience of implementing the principles of cashless economy, it is shown that, although the volume of cashless payments is growing, they do not prevail among the priorities of European payment strategies and do not dominate the choice of market entities in both developed and developing countries. The experience of cashless economy formation in developing countries proves that even with the avant-garde development of mobile financial services, conditions may arise for return to the active use of cash payments. Taking into account that in the situation of growing uncertainty of political, economic, and social development trends, cashless payments cannot ensure financial stability, it is important today to use the model of portfolio approach to liquid assets, which assumes a rational proportion between card and cash payments of entities.

Abstract:
The cashless society is a collective vision of global citizens to create a faster, more flexible, automated payment system. This study aims to formulate findings on publications from 2012-2022, focusing on a cashless society. Using the Systematic Literature Review approach, this study uses sources from the Scopus database to identify common understanding, supporting factors, and challenges of a cashless society from the views of researchers. This study found that forming a cashless society is a solution to efforts to grow the economy and speed of transactions in society. Another benefit is preventing corruption, levies, and fraud where electronic payments made on record have suppressed this crime. However, the dark side of a cashless society is the potential invasion of privacy and paralysis of the economic system caused by the failure of the internet system.

The use of artificial intelligence in the financial sphere are analyzed in this study. One of the possible areas of using neural network in financial institutions is the system of cashless payments. One of the main problems in introducing innovative projects is to evaluate the efficiency of the implemented information system. In this regard, the construction of an investment model that allows evaluating the implementation and use of artificial intelligence in the cashless payments system of financial institutions is proposed in this article. Based on the constructed model, an analysis is made of the dependence of the effectiveness of the system with artificial intelligence on the size of the client base of a credit organization, while the minimum and maximum possible efficiency parameters of the implemented system are evaluated. Based on a comprehensive analysis, recommendations are given on perspectives of introducing such systems into credit organizations.

This research paper presents the work done to design and fabricate a prototype of a cashless vending machine in Bhutan. The integration of GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) technology and bank account QR (Quick Response) code scanning into the vending machine's payment system for transactions using local payment applications is the approach taken for enabling a cashless payment system. A straightforward but efficient logic for the vending machine has been developed by integrating and testing a variety of hardware. There is one raspberry pi and touchscreen to be used as a user interface to select the product. When the selection is completed it sends the command to the Arduino uno which will determine whether to send the command to Arduino mega after checking the message received by the GSM module. If the Phone ID and message content matches as specified in the code, then it will transmit the command to mega. The Arduino Mega will turn the motor according to the command from raspberry pi once command is received from Arduino uno. There has been hands-on experience in designing and constructing a customized vending machine solution and it was possible to do this because of the availability of FABLAB CST in the college to get the final prototype.

This work investigates the relationships between the retail payment system, monetary aggregates and economic activity in Spain from a long-run perspective. This approach is considered from the perspective of the transformations favored by ICT in the payment system, which incorporates increasingly more and more cashless instruments. The methodology used is based on cointegration analysis and error correction models. Likewise, a new indicator of some trends in the implementation of cashless transactions in payment systems is proposed; this measure has been applied to Spain and other European countries. With respect to long-run relationships, we demonstrate the relevant (and direct) impact of changes in the monetary system and national income on the value of cashless transactions. Regarding the short run, the most important relationships in terms of the value of cashless transactions are those related to the real estate sector. The empirical results evidence the intensive progress of the cashless society in Spain, where the banking sector, regulatory changes and ICT development have played a key role.

In line with the trend of increasing state expenditure payments, the government uses a digital system to carry out cashless-based payments. The digital system provides advantages in the effectiveness of state expenditure payments to the payee and supports the efficiency of state financial management. One of the digital systems used is the Digital Payment application developed by the Directorate General of Treasury. This study aims to review the use of the Digital Payment application in making non-cash payments to payees (suppliers) in the 2019-2021 period. This study used a qualitative method with literature study techniques and interviews with several informants. The results of this study indicate that the use of Digital Payment in non-cash-based payments is quite effective. Even so, there are still obstacles to the mindset, system flexibility, and human resources so the application has not been implemented optimally. One of the efforts made is to change shopping behavior, especially related to the use of the Money Supply mechanism which gradually shifts from fully using cash funds to cashless systems through the implementation of digital payments such as Government Credit Cards (KKP) and Cash Management System Virtual Accounts (CMS VA). This study aims to explore the factors that cause the low implementation of Cashless payment systems in the form of KKP and CMS VA within the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, and find a model that can optimize it. Researchers use a qualitative approach with the case study method because they try to focus intensively on a particular object that studies it as a case, and cannot be generalized because the results of this study only apply to the case being studied. The results of this study show that leadership commitment is the factor that most influences the implementation of the cashless payment system, and also determines the influence of other factors such as human resource factors, the availability of SOPs, reward and punishment mechanisms, and the involvement of the Bank in the use of KKP and CMS VA. Satker must synergize with other parties so that in every stage of implementation starting from the signing stage of cooperation between Satker and the Bank, issuance and delivery of instruments, use transactions and accountability, until the supervision and monitoring evaluation stage can run better so that it can have an optimal impact on the implementation of Cashless payment systems within the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs

Nigerian payment systems are cash based although the use of electronic payment system such as online banking services, automated teller machine services and the mobile banking services started gradually in 2011 with the introduction of cashless policy, which became operational in 2023. This study examined the impact of the cashless policy of the government on the performance of small-scale enterprises in Southeast – Nigeria. It explored the availability of required e-payment facilities, the effectiveness of e-payment administration, and the impact of cashless policy on the performance of SMEs in the region. Descriptive survey design and researcher’s designed questionnaire were adopted to generate data from 500 respondents that were randomly chosen from five states in southeast Nigeria, while statistics of percentages, and SPSS tools were used to analysis the data. Results of the analysis reveal inadequate supply of e-payment facilities and lack of IT skills for managing e-payment transactions among majority of the respondents. In addition, it revealed the ineffectiveness of e-payment system in the management of SMEs with significant negative impact on the performances of SMEs in southeast Nigeria. Among others, the paper recommends awareness creation and sensitization about the cashless economy, and adequate provision or the modernisation of e-payment facilities to ensure the effectiveness of the policy.

This paper explores the process of technological change in the payment system. In particular, the study aims to gain understanding if Bitcoin would bring about a paradigmatic shift toward a cashless society. The analysis is based on the technology S-curve and Schumpeter’s model of economic development. It is interesting to see that the swing of S-curves is not strong enough to cause a paradigm shift according to the Schumpeterian concept of creative destruction. The study also compares Bitcoin with PayPal, a similar digital currency and major online payment system, to gain insights of the new challenge toward a cashless economy. The parallel S-curve trajectories of electronic money innovations signify a move from a cash-based economy toward a less cash society.

Due to digital illiteracy and security issues, many retailers and customers are still preferring the traditional cash payment system. Many initiatives have been taken up by the Indian government to promote digital transactions and subside the flow of black money to some extent which leads to the economic development of the country. The research study aims to understand the perception of the retailers of medium and small businesses in Andhra Pradesh. The study focuses on the awareness among the retailers towards cashless payment system and also the problems faced by them through this system. The primary data was collected from 100 respondents who were small and medium business retailers in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh. The study concluded that most of the retailers have adopted and are using cashless payment system in their business.

The study focuses on the determinants of the millennial community preference in using cashless payment. The aim of research to identify factors that considered the millennial to use cashless payment. In theory, the factors that encourage people to adopt and use electronic payment system as follows: Socio-demographic consisting of age, sex, education and language, Financial, Technology (frequency of use of mobile banking phone, a personal computer, the Internet, PDAs and the use of the service over the phone) and Supply-side by counting the number of POS (Pont Off Sale) and ATM. Furthermore, the high range of the technology and the Internet and systems digital payment (cashless)The earliest touching the millennial so in this study conducted in the millennial who use cashless payment in South Tangerang method is purposive sampling, the data obtained through questionnaires distributed to 100 respondents. The questionnaire prepared by the Likert scale and analyzed using factor analysis and descriptive analysis. From the results of the study showed that the determinants of the millennial use payment cashless is the ability of financial (X1) with a loading factor 0.736, Convenience Payment (X2) with loading factor of 0.732, Ease of transacting (X3) with a value of 0.875 and Special Promo (X4) with a value of 0.826-factor loading.
