Abstract:
We present faunistic and taxonomic data for the genus Zamarada (Geometridae, Ennominae, Cassymini) in Ethiopia. With this contribution, the number of Zamarada species in Ethiopia increases from 16 to 23. One species Zamarada erugatoides sp. n. is described as new. Zamarada iobathra Prout, 1932 and Zamarada polyctemon Prout, 1932 are downgraded from species rank to subspecies of Zamarada euryscaphes Prout, 1915 (stat. n.). The female of Zamarada eurygnathus Fletcher, 1974 and Zamarada chrysothyra Hampson, 1909 and the male of Zamarada secutaria (Guenée, 1858) are described for the first time.

Abstract:
Owing to the high species diversity and the lack of a modern revision, the phylogenetic relationships within the tribe Boarmiini remain largely unexplored. In this study, we reconstruct the first molecular phylogeny of the Palaearctic and Oriental members of Boarmiini, and infer the relationships among tribes within the ‘boarmiine’ lineage. One mitochondrial (COI) and four nuclear (EF-1α, CAD, RpS5, GAPDH) genes for 56 genera and 96 species of Boarmiini mostly from the Palaearctic and Oriental regions were included in the study. Analyses of Bayesian inference and maximum likelihood recovered l

Abstract:
AbstractMany unique high‐altitude mountain ecosystems have been declining due to climate change, posing a threat to flora and fauna that have adapted to these ecosystems. This study explores the evolution of high‐altitude adaptations, focusing on female flightlessness and diel activity, in geometrid moths (Lepidoptera: Ennominae, Gnophini) within the European Alps. We constructed a phylogeny of Gnophini moths using a dataset of 157 taxa, with up to seven genetic markers and traced the evolutionary history of diel activity and wing length reduction in females. Analysis of divergence times sugge
