Abstract:

Purpose The CATALISE group (Bishop, Snowling, Thompson, Greenhalgh, & CATALISE Consortium, 2016; Bishop, Snowling, Thompson, Greenhalgh, & CATALISE-2 Consortium, 2017) recommended that the term developmental language disorder (DLD) be used to refer to neurodevelopmental language deficit. In this tutorial, we explain the appropriate application of the term and present advantages in adhering to the CATALISE recommendations. Conclusion Both specific language impairment and DLD refer to a neurodevelopmental condition that impairs spoken language, is long-standing and, is not associated with any known causal condition. The applications of the terms specific language impairment and DLD differ in breadth and the extent to which identification depends upon functional impact. Use of the term DLD would link advocacy efforts in the United States to those in other English-speaking countries. The criteria for identifying DLD presented in the CATALISE consensus offer opportunities for scientific progress while aligning well with practice in U.S. public schools.

Abstract:

Seiring dengan meningkatnya aktivitas, manusia semakin memerlukan alat transportasi yang aman, nyaman dan memadai sebagai sarana pendukung mobilitas. Akibatnya, seiring perkembangan zaman jumlah arus lalu lintas dan jenis kendaraan yang menggunakan ruas-ruas jalan semakin bertambah. Hal ini menimbulkan masalah dibidang transportasi, salah satunya adalah masalah tekanan balik, suhu dan polusi suara (kebisingan) yang ditimbulkan dari knalpot kendaraan. Oleh karena itu, upaya untuk mereduksi kebisingan dan tekanan balik dari muffler kendaraan perlu dilakukan. Salah satunya dengan menggunakan dual bed catalitic converter berbahan tembaga dan kuningan. Dual bed catalytic converter berfungsi sebagai peredeuksi emisi sekaligus dapat merduksi kebisingan dan meningkatkan performa mesin. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui seberapa besar peningkatan performa mesin dengan menggunakan dual bed converter berbahan tembaga dan kuningan pada sepeda motor Honda Vario Techno. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian eksperimen (experimental research). Analisis data menggunakan metode deskriftif kuantitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan dual bed catalytic converter berbahan tembaga dan pada sepeda motor Vario Techno 125 CC dapat meningkatkan torsi (torque), daya (power) dan menurunkan tingkat kebisingan. Peningkatan torsi tertinggi pada catalitic kuningan-tembaga sebesar 16,70 % didapatkan pada putaran 4000 rpm dan catalitic tembaga-kuningan sebesar 10,06% didapatkan pada putaran 8000 rpm. Peningkatan daya efektif catalitic Kuningan-Tembaga tertinggi sebesar 2,40 % didapatkan pada putaran 3000 rpm, sedangkan catalitic tembaga kuningan tertinggi sebesar 3,20%. Selain itu dual bed catalitic converter berbahan tembaga dan kuningan pada knalpot sepeda motor Honda Vario Techno 125 CC dapat menurunkan tingkat kebisingan tertinggi pada catalitic Tembaga-Kuningan sebesar 3,08 % didapatkan pada putaran 4000 rpm dan penurunan tingkat kebisingan tertinggi pada catalitic Kuningan-Tembaga sebesar 5.6% pada putaran 4000 rpm.

Bien que le trouble développemental du langage (TDL) soit fréquent (7,58 %; Norbury et al., 2016) et ait des impacts perdurant jusqu'à l’âge adulte (Feeney, Desha, Khan, Ziviani, & Nicholson, 2016), il est beaucoup moins connu que d’autres problématiques telles que le trouble du déficit de l’attention avec ou sans hyperactivité (TDAH) ou le trouble du spectre de l’autisme (TSA). L’inconstance des définitions selon les domaines (p. ex., médecine, éducation, psychologie, orthophonie) pourrait partiellement expliquer cette méconnaissance (Bishop, 2017). Depuis peu, une terminologie et une démarche menant au diagnostic de TDL font l’objet d’un consensus international multidisciplinaire, et ce, grâce au projet CATALISE (Bishop, Snowling, Thompson, Greenhalgh, & CATALISE-consortium, 2016, 2017). Le but de cet article est de présenter une mise à jour des enjeux et des connaissances actuelles liés au TDL en s’intéressant aux changements d’appellation et de critères initiés par le projet CATALISE. Pour les professionnels et chercheurs œuvrant dans le domaine, il s’agit d’une occasion de réfléchir aux besoins des personnes vivant avec un TDL.

Abstract:

Delphastus catalinae (Horn) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) is a predator of whiteflies and is sold by commercial insectaries to help manage Bemisia tabaci (Gennadius). This beetle is tropical in origin, but feral populations in the USA are known to persist in southern California and in central and southern Florida. Field populations of D. catalinae are not known to occur in northern Florida, GA, or South Carolina, and there has not been any report of field releases in these areas. A study was conducted to determine the ability of D. catalinae to survive in regions with mild winters where B. tabaci survives year-round, such as coastal South Carolina and northern Florida. Delphastus catalinae was sampled in field cages from December to April in 2002–2004. Only a few individuals were collected at the end of each winter. In the laboratory, at a constant temperature of 15°C, adult survival was up to 9 months (269 d), whereas survival was up to 16 d at 5°C. Without food, adult longevity was decreased by about 90%. A sample of the population from a laboratory test indicated that old females (at least 242 d) produced viable eggs. Eggs held at 5°C did not hatch, whereas 48% of those held at 15°C hatched. Conversely, 98% of eggs held at 25°C hatched. At 15°C, none of the larvae survived to the pupal stage, whereas at 25°C, 86% of the larvae survived to the adult stage. Winter temperatures near freezing may result in excessive D. catalinae mortality and few or no survivals at the end of the winter. These results help define the impact of long-term low temperatures on the northern geographical limit of D. catalinae and will aid in whitefly management decisions regarding this predator.

Abstract:

Two new deep-sea cumaceans, Diastylis andeepae and D. catalinae are described from the Weddell Sea. Diastylis andeepae n. sp. can be distinguished from other members of the genus by a combination of characters including: carapace with small tubercles all over and anterior part with an arched row of teeth extending from each side of the pseudorostrum and disappearing a short distance before reaching the inferior margin of the carapace, ischium of the pereopod 2 with four strong teeth, endopod uropod of two articles. Diastylis catalinae n. sp. is a closely related species to D. richardi Fage 1929 recorded from the Bay of Biscay, however D. catalinae can be easily separated from D. richardi by having: (1) on each side of the anterior part of the carapace several teeth arranged in two non-uniform rows (randomly distributed and with two antero−lateral horns in D. richardi); (2) clearly visible pereonites 1 and 2 in dorsal view (hardly visible in D. richardi); (3) one tooth on each postero−lateral angle of the pereonite 5 (without teeth in D.richardi); and (4) one minute simple seta on article 4 of the antenna 2 (a long setulate seta in D. richardi).

Abstract:

Aleurothrixus (formerly known as Aleurotrachelus) trachoides Back (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae), commonly known as pepper or solanum whitefly, is a new emerging whitefly pest of several horticultural crops in the United States. During the preliminary survey for pepper whitefly infestation in Florida, a whitefly-specific predatory beetle Delphastus catalinae Horn (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) was observed associated with this pest in the natural ecosystem. The current study was undertaken to determine the efficacy of this naturally occurring predator, D. catalinae, and an entomopathogenic fungus, Cordyceps (formerly known as Isaria) fumosorosea (Cfr) (Wize) (Hypocreales: Cordycipitaceae), alone or in combination, under controlled laboratory conditions. Whitefly mortality for Cfr (88%), beetle (100%) and Cfr + beetle (100%) treatments were similar and significantly higher compared to control. In the combination treatment, Cfr did not impact D. catalinae longevity and daily food intake, indicating a neutral interaction between the two treatments. Results showed that both of these natural biological control agents could potentially offer an effective alternative in the battle against invasive whiteflies such as pepper whitefly in U.S. horticulture production, either as a stand-alone strategy or in an integrated approach. Although these findings are promising, compatibility of the two treatments needs to be evaluated further under greenhouse and semi-field conditions before recommending to commercial growers.

Abstract:

Generally, group IIIA metal-based polycarboxylates are less studied, compared with those of transition or rare earth metals. However, In-MOFs have received recently much attention due to their interesting network topologies, which are mainly owing to the variety of coordination modes (6, 7 or 8) in indium MOFs with O- and N-donor ligands. [1]. Some of In-MOFs exhibit an exceptional gas absorption, fluorescent, ion-exchange properties, and can be used as heterogeneous Lewis acid catalysts in various organic transformations. The high relevance of Indium materials in catalytic studies for important organic reactions led to development of indium MOFs. [2-3] Here we report the solvothermal synthesis, structural characterization, topological analysis and catalytic studies of six new indium-based MOFs using 5-(4-carboxy-2-nitrophenoxy)isophtalic acid (H3popha) together with N-donor ancillary ligands (Figure 1). The three indium compounds showing 3D networks are the following: [In8(OH)6(popha)6(H2O)4]·xH2O (1), [In2(popha)2(4,4-bipy)2] (2) and [In3(OH)3(popha)2(4,4'-bipy)2]·xH2O (3). Meanwhile, compounds with a 2D network have a composition [In(popha)(1,10-phen)]·xH2O (4), [In(popha)(1,10-phen)]·xH2O (5) and [In(popha)(2,2'-bipy)]·xH2O (6). The catalytic study performed using indium compounds 1-6 as catalysts in a Lewis acidity promoted organic reaction, allows for establishing a connection between the corresponding MOF network dimensionality and its catalytic behavior.

Procedur and setting of research that is consisted in material selection, treatment and setting of composition of methanol and catalist, operational temperature, reaction time, speed and mixer technical will effect quality and conversion level of callophylum inophylum biodiesel. And based data analyzer show that conversion of callophylum inophylum biodiesel can reach 90%. Properties of callophylum inophylum biodiesel show viscosity and flash point of callophylum inophylum biodiesel is ligthly higher than diesel fuel. And caloric value of callophylum inophylum biodiesel is slightly lower than diesel fuel. Key words: callophylum inophylum, biodiesel, properties, transesterification.

Abstract:

Catalityc removal of nitrogen oxide from combustion gases Nitrogen oxide conversion to nitrogen over Pt/Al2 O3, Pd/Al2O3, Rh/Al2O3 catalysts was investigated. The results of the catalytic activity investigations, with the iso-x method, showed that NO reduction by methane occurs at a reasonable rate at the temperature range 200-500°C. Alumina-supported Pd, Pt and Rh catalysts have been compared for the selective reduction of NO to N2. All the catalysts showed good activity in NO reduction by methane, giving around 80 - 90% N2 production. At moderate temperatures Pt is the most active catalyst for the removal of NO.

Abstract:

Three spinels catalysts with copper were synthetized: Cr2CuO4, Fe2CuO4 and (Fe,Cr)2CuO4 using the coprecipitation method, with a tartrate precursor type. The catalysts were characterized by atomic absorption spectrometry, X-ray diffraction spectrometry and IR and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The three catalysts were tested in toluene oxidation reaction and theirs performances were assessed by carbon dioxide amounts resulted from reactions.

Abstract:

Recently Saul Kripke has drawn attention to a puzzle about belief and proper names, a puzzle of which philosophers have been aware for a long time, but which has never been completely resolved. Kripke gives a new, bilingual illustration of the puzzle:1 Pierre, while living in his native France, learns much about the city of London, which he calls ‘Londres,’ and comes to believe something which he would express in French with the words, ‘Londres est jolie.’ Using standard principle of translation, it seems correct for us to say, ‘Pierre believes that London is pretty.’ Suppose however that Pierre learns English, travels to London, learns that the name of the city he is in is ‘London,’ and sincerely and comprehendingly asserts, ‘London is not pretty.’ On the basis of his assertion, it seems correct for us to say, ‘Pierre believes that London is not pretty.’ But suppose he does not realize that ‘Londres’ is also a name for the city he is in, so he retains the belief which he would express with the French words, ‘Londres est jolie.’ Then, by the same principles of translation as before, it seems that we are still justified in saying, ‘Pierre believes that London is pretty.’ But now we have attributed to Pierre contradictory beliefs, and that does not seem acceptable, since Pierre has committed no logical oversight.Kripke believes that this is the same puzzle as one that arises in older, monolingual examples, such as that used by Quine: suppose Tom believes that Cicero denounced Cataline. Since ‘Tully’ is another name for Cicero, it seems acceptable to paraphrase his belief and say, ‘Tom believes that Tully denounced Cataline.’ But suppose Tom does not realize that Cicero and Tully are the same person, and suppose, in fact, that he sincerely and comprehendingly asserts, ‘Tully did not denounce Cataline.’ Then it also seems acceptable to say, on the basis of Tom’s assertion, ‘Tom believes that Tully did not denounce Cataline.’ But now we have attributed to Tom contradictory beliefs, and, as in the Pierre example, that does not seem acceptable.

Abstract:

To study the influence of 3d transition metal addition on desorption kinetics of MgH2 ball milling of MgH2-Co blends was performed under Ar. Microstructural and morphological characterization, performed by XRD and SEM, show a huge correlation with thermal stability and hydrogen desorption properties investigated by DSC. A complex desorption behavior is correlated with the dispersion of the metal additive particles on hydride matrix. The activation energy for H2 desorption from MgH2-Co composite was calculated from both non-isothermal and isothermal methods to be 130 kJ/mol which means that mutually diffusion and nucleation and growth of new phase control the dehydration process.

AbstractDelphastus catalinae (Horn) (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) was mass reared to support field studies addressing augmentation and colonization for control of Bemisia argentifolii Bellows and Perring (Homoptera: Aleyrodidae) in southern California. Beetles were reared on B. argentifolii infested poinsettia plants grown inside greenhouses located in northern California. Potted plants, reared from rooted cuttings, were cycled through the rearing system over ca. a 12-week period, then discarded. A total of 174 245 adult beetles were harvested over a 20-week period. Each plant averaged 46 adult beetles (range 21–89) over the same period of time. Harvesting strategies were investigated using a computer simulation model based upon published and hypothesized reproduction and survivorship parameters. Results suggest that removal of approximately 50% of adults per week produced a stable and maximum production of beetles. Actual harvest rates were between 40 and 60% of available beetles. The cost of producing each adult was estimated at US$0.22, with the major cost being labor at 86% of the total.

Abstract:

Development of efficient catalysts is in focus of modern chemical technology for production of fine chemicals. D-sorbitol is widely used as sweetener, food additive and fuel compound is typically produced by D-glucose hydrogenation over Ni-Reney catalyst. However, this catalyst is characterized by not sufficient stability and selectivity to D-sorbitol formation. The described study is devoted to synthesis of nickel containing hypercrosslinked polystyrene for D-glucose hydrogenation process. Hypercrosslinked polystyrene is one of the representatives of crosslinked polymers with rigid matrix applicable for metal nanoparticles synthesis. However, hypercrosslinked polystyrene is characterized by high surface hydrophobicity that prevent impregnation of high amount of active metal over it surface. To overcome this disadvantage hypercrosslinked polystyrene was modified by hydrogen peroxide, chlorine and ammonia. A series of nickel based catalyst theoretically containing 25wt.% of nickel were synthesized. Modification of hypercrosslinked polystyrene results in appropriate increase in surface concentration of active metal. Synthesized Ni based catalysts were characterized by comparable Ni loading varying from 20.1 wt.% to 23.2 wt.%. Some increase in Ni loading can be subscribed to presence of surface-active groups in a case of modified hypercrosslinked polystyrene application. Mesopores surface area decrease from 126 m2/g to 69 m2/g in case of catalysts on modified hypercrosslinked polystyrene. Catalytic hydrogenation of D-glucose over synthesized Ni-containing catalysts showed considerable increase in turnover frequency (TOF) for all samples compare to commonly used Reney type nickel. Increase in TOF can be subscribed to appropriate increase of active metal surface concentration. Beside, some increase in catalyst selectivity to sorbitol took place. Considerable improvement of selectivity to sorbitol can be explained by increasing of desired D-glucose hydrogenation reaction rate, while reaction rate of D-glucose isomerization process to D-fructose remain the same. The achieved TOF for most active catalyst was found to be 0.27 s-1 and catalysts selectivity to D-sorbitol 98%.

Sugere que nos textos literários abordados, identidades de matrizes raciais se encontram em perpétuo movimento entre três deslocamentos identitários. O primeiro – assimilacionista – projeta movimentação do sujeito negro na direção do mundo branco; o segundo – nacionalista – se alicerça na mobilidade no seio da afro-brasilidade e seus valores; o terceiro – catalista – apreende a fusão dos dois primeiros estágios. A teoria utilizada referenda a ideia de Hall (2006) de que as identidades raciais, na pósmodernidade, festejam uma “celebração móvel” e devem se afinar à noção de responsabilidade Sartreana do sujeito negro existencial para consigo mesmo e para com os demais sujeitos em seu entorno.

Neste trabalho apresentamos um modelo de mediação amparado em um modelo pedagógico cognitivo. A ideia central do modelo é recomendar um objeto que desafie o estudante de modo adequado, sem que ele se sinta entediado com problemas semelhantes nem se desmotive ao se deparar com problemas além de sua capacidade. Utilizamos como estudo de caso um ambiente virtual de aprendizagem de programação. Os resultados apontam que, em geral, quando os estudantes escolhem problemas com ELOs mais próximos aos seus, eles têm melhores resultados.

Abstract:

Synthesis of N-(4t-buthylbenzoyl)-p-aminophenol has been done by reacting p-aminophenol and 4-tert- buthylbenzoyl chloride compounds with 1% MgF2 catalyst. N-(4t-buthylbenzoyl)-p- aminophenol as an antiinflamatory analgesic. Products were characterized by organoleptic test, melting point determination, TLC, UV/Vis Spectrophotometry, and infrared spectrophotometry. The results of the organoleptic test showed that N- (4t-butylbenzoyl) -p- aminophenol is powdered, gray and tasteless. Melting point of N-(4t- buthylbenzoyl)-p- aminophenol was 193 – 194 °C. TLC results showed that N-(4t-buthylbenzoyl)-p- aminophenol had two Rf values of 0.73 – 0.76 and 0.89 – 0.91. The results of UV wavelength scanning showed that N- (4t-butylbenzoyl) -p-aminophenol had two peaks at 290 and 294 wavelengths. Yield of N-4t- butylbenzoyl-p-aminophenol was 24.35%. O texto objetiva discutir sobre os efeitos do emprego da Sociedade de Propósito Específico (SPE) como mecanismo jurídico inclusivo das micro/pequenas empresas (MPE) no mercado, inclusive das contratações públicas. Como método, argumenta-se com base em conceitos e considerações amplas, à luz de descritores como a eficiência econômica e o bem-estar global, acerca dos efeitos da adoção das SPE. Os resultados são que, no plano teórico, as SPE estão ligadas ao aumento da participação das MPE no mercado, por meio da assunção de uma estrutura capaz de diluir os riscos jurídico e econômico, eis que a participação de empresas micro e pequenas nas SPE facilita a circulação de produtos, serviços, tecnologias e conhecimento. A análise crítica conclui anotando a real necessidade de um desenho jurídico-econômico que catalise o emprego do associativismo como mecanismo de desenvolvimento, pela via da promoção de estratégias inovadoras como meio de fortalecimento micro empresarial e pela clarificação das políticas públicas nesta seara.

A crescente demanda por energias renováveis promovem a produção de biocombustíveis por meio da utilização de biomassas, o bioetanol e biodiesel são matrizes energéticas eco-sustentáveis. Embora sua composição seja variada de acordo com a sua origem, as biomassas quando submetidas a pré-tratamentos adequados são blocos químicos para produção de enzimas. A capacidade dos fungos endofíticos colonizarem ambientes suscetíveis a constantes interações metabólicas os tornam candidatos favoráveis na produção de enzimas extracelulares com potencial aplicação na produção de biocombustíveis, uma vez que são aplicados como pré-tratamento biológico de biomassas. Neste contexto, esta revisão contextualiza as fontes de biomassas e recolhe dados sobre estirpes fúngicas endofíticas e técnicas moleculares e de bioprocessos para o rastreio e produção de enzimas. Nós objetivamos evidenciar o atual cenário dos fungos endofíticos e suas enzimas para desconstrução da biomassa lignocelulósica e para catalise da reação de esterificação, bem como as etapas do processo produtivo de etanol e biodiesel, respectivamente.

A falta do enzima que catalisa a conversão de glicina em ácido hidroximetiltetra-hidrofólico, dióxido de carbono e amônia, no fígado e no cérebro, resulta em aumento da concentração de glicina no sangue. Neste estudo é relatado caso de hiperglicinemia diagnosticado no período neonatal e caracterizado por hipotonia e múltiplas convulsões não controláveis. After the first record in 2008 in Southeast Italy, the alien invasive and quarantine pest Aleurocanthus spiniferus (orange spiny whitefly—OSW) has gradually spread throughout Europe, infesting several new host plants in addition to the known hosts. Molecular characterization of some Italian populations and a newly found Albanian population highlighted two different haplotypes invading Europe, belonging to one of the haplogroups previously recorded in China. A predator was recorded for the first time in several fields in Italy in association with OSW and other whitefly species. It was successively identified through a morpho-molecular characterization as a Nearctic member of the tribe Serangiini, the ladybird beetle, Delphastus catalinae. This predator represents a promising biocontrol agent to manage A. spiniferus outbreaks in Italy and other invaded countries.

<p>The observation on reactive mechanical alloying (RMA) process had been done to form MgH2 material with adding Ni nanoparticles as catalist for hydrogen storage material applications. Pressure and temperature of material forming were recorded by microcontroller set for 30 minutes. Mg with adding Ni 5 wt % was milled by High Energy Ball Mill (HEBM) at H2 atmosphere in 1 atm of pressure. The measurement results showed that the pressure had been changed and temperature also changes up to 38oC. This process proves that the alloying betwen Mg and H2 had been formed. The X-ray diffraction pattern identify MgH2 phase. SEM image showed the morphology of MgH2 particles.</p>

Para além do progresso e do dinamismo típicos da cidade moderna, o discurso contemporâneo aborda a metrópole como espaço de desorientação, que catalisa e amplifica experiências sensoriais. Investigaremos em particular a representação de São Paulo na série televisiva Alice (2008), na qual a protagonista tem a vida afetiva atravessada por suas descobertas da cidade, numa “estratégia feminina de leitura do espaço” (Bruno, 2007). Destacando outras produções paulistanas da primeira década dos anos 2000, refletiremos ainda sobre as estratégias de abordagem do espaço urbano no cinema contemporâneo, questionando a tendência de “retorno ao real” através da sensorialidade.

A ficção portuguesa moderna nasceu com a obra pioneira de Almeida Garrett, no 1.º quartel do século XIX. Da sua eclética produção vieram a público dois famosos romances, já em plena maturidade literária; mas o espólio do autor revela uma longa experimentação da escrita romanesca, em que avulta o romance de atualidade. É essa “oficina” literária de um romancista-aprendiz que nos propomos comentar. Abstract:

O panorama de arquivamento digital da pandemia da Covid-19 no Brasil é um eixo argumentativo que possibilita a reflexão sobre temas como: as possibilidades de escrita da história da Covid-19 em escala global; a infraestrutura de arquivos digitais; a construção coletiva de acervos por uma rede de projetos paralelos no país; as características da produção social e do teor documental dos registros preservados nessas iniciativas. O cenário pandêmico catalisa e desnuda problemas concernentes à memória, aos arquivos e à história que não são novos, mas se veem diante de uma ocasião profícua para avanços teóricos e práticos relevantes — que vão do aprimoramento infraestrutural à revisão das balizas epistemológicas para a construção da memória e da história em escala global.
