Abstract:
This essay examines the creation of a notorious anecdote about a Machiavellian mother — Caterina Sforza. The adjective "Machiavellian "functions on two levels: first, Sforza often simply appears in her role as mother in Machiavelli's works; second, her behavior in this particular instance might well be characterized as "practising duplicity in state craft. " Yet if one considers the pertinent historical documents and Machiavelli's very first, although virtually forgotten, version of the events, it becomes apparent that Machiavelli "de-Machiavellizes" Caterina Sforza. The historical record offers a narrative in which Sforza provides a localized, targeted political response to undermine her children's would-be assassins. Machiavelli, however, rewrites the episode by altering Sforza's quip to her enemies and adding the audacious gesture of lifting her skirts; as a result, he creates a version in which she no longer responds to the political predicament in which she finds herself. This essay juxtaposes Machiavelli's long-ignored first version of the tale with his other two more well-known prose versions and contextualizes all three in relation to contemporary sources.

Abstract:
Erri De Luca's works could fit into the post-war Neapolitan literature movement, a movement characterized by the recurrent presence of the city of Naples. The city is there often treated as a full part protagonist of the narration, a monstrous and frightening city, overwhelming its children. Erri De Luca plunges us in the city of his childhood, prostrated by war and extreme poverty, and in the story of his family. He thus gives us a series of polyhedric and realistic pictures of the Neapolitan city, evoking by turns the extreme destitution of the bassi, the cold luminosity of an Americanized Mergellina or else the mythic island of Ischia. As he leaves Naples, he seems to be willing to go away from his origins. And yet a major part of his works bears witness of the obsessional presence of the city, in an eternal quest of finding it again. All through the man's evolution, his political commitment to an extreme left-wing group, his job as a bricklayer, his trips abroad as a benevolent, his readings and translations of the Bible will the writer's identity build up. Thus, trying to describe Naples in his reality, Erri De Luca finally produces, through the power of imaginary, both other pictures - signs of his reconciliation with the city, and other myths - metaphoric expressions of the act of writing. This transcription of imaginary makes him conspicuous from his contemporaries

Abstract:
The work is based on the study and the edition of a 15th century's account book, the Libre de la magnifica señora Caterina Llull començat el 2 de jener de 1472, written out by Caterina Llull y Cabastida who lived halfway between Siracusa and Barcellona. The manuscript is kept in the Borja Centre Archives in S. Cugat del Valles into the Requenses family's private records. The research of the above-said book has been enriched by other documents coming from the same family archives and from other catalan archives, and this has allowed me to investigate some economic and social aspects related to the eastern Sicily during the 15th century and, moreover, to carry out a wider analysis of the distinctive and different sides of the so-called "Woman's Middle Ages". The thesis is divided into three parts: the paleographic and codicological study, the social-economic examination, and the complete transcription of the manuscript with onomastic index.

Abstract:
This thesis seeks to trace the unique journey of Cater in a da Siena (1347- 1380) from a venerator of saints to a venerated saint. In doing so, the thesis presents a detailed case study of the importance of the cult of saints in medieval Europe. In order to do this, the thesis looks first at Caterina's relationship with the cult of saints through her veneration of Paul, Mary Magdalen and the Virgin Mary. This allows for a close case study of Caterina as a venerator through an examination of her own testimony in the Letters, Dialogo and her Prayers. The second section focuses on the creation of her own cult by Raimondo da Capua (1330-1399) and Tommaso Caffarini (1350- 1434). This section examines particular events and qualities such as Caterina's mystical death and her reception of the stigmata. These events were included by Raimondo and Caffarini in their hagiographies of the saint: Legenda Jvfaior, the Leggenda Minore and the Libellus. The final section explores Caterina's role as a venerated saint by examining the lives ofChiara Gambacorta (1362-1420), Giovanni Dominici (1356-1419) and Lucia Brocadelli da Narni (1476- 1544). Each life reveals a particular connection that led these venerators to Saint Caterina

Abstract:
In this essay the author demonstrates that it is possible to “reconstruct” the figure of Caterina Colombini (1340?-1387) – Giovanni Colombini’s cousin – through a group of texts: the hagiography of Caterina, the letters sent to her by Giovanni Colombini and, finally, Giovanni’s biography written by Feo Belcari. The author divides his text into four parts: the first part analyzes the content of Caterina’s hagiography; the second examines the linguistic form of the hagiographic text; in the third, the author analyzes the latent meaning of the window, a symbolic place where Giovanni and Caterina converse on divine topics; in the last part, to conclude, the teachings that Giovanni gives to Catherine and her spiritual daughters – the Gesuate – are analyzed.

Abstract:
The results of new archival research, compared with some epistles of Blessed Giovanni Colombini, allowed to frame the mystical experience of his cousin Caterina Colombini, which matured in the Sixties of the fourteenth century, in a situation of serious breakdown with his family, caused by patrimonial reasons. Caterina succeeded, also with the help of some friends of her cousin, to free herself from the family context and to constitute the first community of Gesuate, so-called because they observed the same way of life as the Gesuati, then in 1371 to equip this congregation with a residence purchased with her own money in the Sienese district of Vallepiatta and finally to submit it to the protection and jurisdiction of the female Benedictine monastery of Saints Abondio and Abondanzio near Siena. Thus a new female congregation was born, that also spread to other cities in Italy, but it did not turn into a religious order, while avoiding the accusation of heresy for “beguinage”.

Abstract:
Castello dei Conti di Biandrate: surveys on the surviving structureBiandrate is a northern Italian village in the province of Novara that lies in the Po plain between the Sesia and Ticino rivers. Border area disputed between Vercelli and Novara, since the early Middle Ages it represented an important crossing point because there were the fords of the Sesia river nearby, on the road axis joining Novara and Ivrea. Its importance grew in the tenth century, when the Pieve was erected, today disappeared, dedicated to Santa Maria and, in 1029, the Counts of Pombia family settled in the Biandrate castrum. In 1168 the castrum was destroyed by the armies of Milan, allied with Novara and Vercelli, that in 1194 carved up the territory. In the second half of the thirteenth century the village of Biandrate was divided into the Borgo Vecchio, vercellese, to the west, and the Borgo Nuovo, novarese, to the east. They developed around the canonica of S. Colombano, the hospital and the ruins of the Count’s castrum. The castrum, almost totally destroyed, continued to represent an area with particular rights: in fact the Statues established that the Podestà could pronounce sentences only “in castro veteri Blanderati”. Nowadays the collegiata of S. Colombano stands on the Biandrate castrum ruins; the collegiata was mentioned for the first time in 1146, but was altered various times over the centuries. In particular, portions of the ancient wall are visible in the lower part of the west wall of the church of Santa Caterina, incorporated within the complex of the collegiate of S. Colombano. It is noticed that the ancient castrum had very thick walls made primarily with river pebbles, roughly cut stones in a herringbone pattern and binding mortar.

Abstract:
In 2019, the Law on the Catering Industry was enacted in the Republic of Serbia. This law regulates the catering industry, which was the subject of the Law on Tourism before that. The subject of the catering industry is catering services, i.e. accommodation services, the services of preparation and serving food, drinks, and beverages, as well as the preparation and delivery of the food to the customers on some other place (other than the place where the catering business is located). The provider of these services is a caterer. A caterer is a commercial company, entrepreneur, while certain catering services may render a natural person. The catering services are to be provided in the catering facilities. Those are accommodation facilities (hotel, motel, camp, etc.), as well as facilities that (only) serve food, drinks, and beverages (bar, pizzeria, restaurant, etc.). The catering business may be conducted in the movable catering facilities, too. The catering business may be conducted throughout the entire year, seasonally and temporarily (fairs, trade fairs, markets, etc.). The catering facilities are assigned different categories, on the basis of the level of achieved quality standards. The paper particularly analyzes the catering services in the family household, in the countryside touristic households, as well as non-contractual obligations of the caterer.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The rapid socio-economic development of the Republic of Azerbaijan is conditioned by many factors, including the sphere of services in various sectors of the economy, including the catering market. In recent years, the catering market in the country has expanded significantly. During 2000-2015 alone, the catering turnover in the country increased from 18.4 million manat to 1111.2 million manat. Such a pace of development of catering services has not been observed in any other sector of the economy. The growing role of the catering market in the country fully justifies the fact that the welfare of the country's workers has significantly increased, which is an important element in the integrated assessment of the development of society. To solve many complex problems of the catering market, we need a scientific basis based on modern research methods, including complex marketing research. In addition, in order to solve a large number of such complex problems, it is necessary to pay special attention to regulatory issues, reducing the level of production costs, rapid development of market infrastructure, raising the level of service culture. Ultimately, this will ensure that tactics and strategies improve the performance of market services in line with market conditions. We believe that a scientific approach to complex marketing research will help solve many problems in the catering market.

Abstract:
Platform economy is one of the highly discussed topics in recent years. Based on its principle, catering services are also being developed, which receive only marginal attention in the scientific literature. The aim of the article is to examine catering services on the principle of platform economy in Slovakia. In fulfilling it, we used the methods of descriptive statistics. The article presents the results that more than one-fifth of respondents do not know the platform economy at all. More than half of the respondents have already used services via digital platforms, but only 5.3% of respondents have used catering services in this way. Almost 40.0% of respondents are interested in providing catering services in Slovakia via digital platforms. The results of the survey show that for their further development, it is necessary to increase public awareness of digital platforms, intensify their promotion, improve legislative conditions, change people's mindsets and reduce the prices of these services.

Abstract:
The competitiveness of public catering enterprises is a necessary condition for their successful operation. Competitiveness factors are divided into external and internal. It is necessary to pay special attention to internal factors, especially those that are highly amenable to guiding influence. This is manifested in the impact in such areas as the management of the enterprise, its staff and the menu.
