For centuries, Gregorian chant has served as a monophonic song written for the religious services of the Roman Catholic Church, but Korean Catholics first encountered this chant in the early nineteenth century. Sting, aka Gordon Sumner (b. 1951 in Wallsend, close to Newcastle upon Tyne), is a famous songwriter and performer who grew up in a Catholic environment. Abstract A modified version of the slope parameter equation for pipelines that incorporates metallic path resistance is presented. Solutions to this expression are compared to ones based upon a first principles based potential attenuation equation. Agreement between the far field potential projected by each was found to be good for anode spacings less than 10,000 m, but the modified slope parameter equation produced conservative far-field potentials for anode spacing less than 20,000 m.

Abstract In order to become more cost efficient, the Norwegian authorities initiated in the early 1990’s a standardization project for the upstream oil and gas industry. One of the important products from the project was the NORSOK M-001 standard which addresses the material selection for offshore production facilities. A new international standard – ISO 21457 – based on the same principles as NORSOK M-001 was published in 2009 and the latest version of NORSOK M-001 only gives clarifications to the international standard. ISO 21457 adopted important user limits from NORSOK M-001 for materials

Under cathodic conditions, rubber/steel adhesive bonded joints have been documented to ‘weaken’ due to attack by the generated alkali. If this were to occur under the action of cleavage mechanical loads, the bonds are likely to completely ‘delaminate’ causing the bonded constituents to physically separate. This research study focuses on Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their impact on individuals, including Catholic consecrated men and women, as well as laity (both married and unmarried). The study examines how resilience, is linked to better social functioning for those who have experienced ACEs.
