The Caucasus region was to the center of the conflict of interest of different geopolitical actors in different historical periods. The South Caucasus as a transit corridor, which unites Europe and the Middle East with Central Asia, has always had a greater strategic importance due to its natural resources and geographical location. After the collapse of the USSR and the end of the Cold War the South Caucasus appeared on a completely new geopolitical situation, where there is a competition for the influence of different world powers.
