Abstract:
Summary The paper deals with the non-normative impacts of the EU law in the national legal systems (Czech Republic in particular) and focuses on the approach of the Czech Constitutional Court (CCC) towards the so-called principle of indirect effect of EU law. The authors examine the case law of CCC and offer the conclusions about the place, constitutional relevance and (national) limits of the EU-consistent interpretation of national law. CCC up to date case law clearly indicates that a EU-consistent interpretation is the most ideal tool for meeting the Czech Republic’s membership obligations.

Abstract Aim SIRT is an established treatment option for liver malignancies. Metabolic information can provide additional knowledge about tumoral characteristics and treatment response. FDG-PET/CT was shown to be advantageous for pre-/post-SIRT evaluation. However, whole-body PET/CT is an elaborate procedure. The aim of the study was to optimize clinical efficacy assessment after SIRT with a low-dose, low-cost protocol for focused diagnostic work-up. Methods An abdomen-only minimal-activity FDG-PET/CT protocol (MA-PET) was established as an alternative for clinically indicated whole-body PET/C

Cancer is responsible for approximately 7.6 million deaths per year worldwide. A 2012 survey in the United Kingdom found dramatic improvement in survival rates for childhood cancer because of increased participation in clinical trials. Unfortunately, overall patient participation in cancer clinical studies is low. A key logistical barrier to patient and physician participation is the time required for identification of appropriate clinical trials for individual patients. Multitasking significantly affects human productivity. The reduction in productivity has a direct result of delaying the primary task, which may cause an overall delay to the project with cost and time overruns. A project should be seen with respect to a global environment, such as that of a company, where resources are shared among its portfolio of projects. Coarse-crystalline CCC, which formed during slow freezing of water in cave pools, is known in 20 Central European caves located in Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland. All these caves are situated in an area, which was glacier-free during the Weichselian. Whereas the formation of usual types of speleothems in caves of this region usually ceased during glacials, CCC precipitation was restricted to glacial periods. Since CCC rep

During thermoplastic injection moulding process, the gradual increase of the coolant temperature along the conformal cooling channel (CCC) inside the rapid tool reduces the rate of heat transfer from the polymeric melt to the cooling channel surface at the outlet portion. Injection moulded defects such as irregular warpage of the part between the coolant inlet and outlet cannot be avoided.
