La censure sur laquelle se penche cette dissertation prit corps dans une institution fondée en 1768, la Real Mesa Censôria, qui mit fin aux droits de la censure de l'inquisition et des évêques, abolit la juridiction au Portugal de l'Index Romain des livres interdits et expurgés, et chargea un groupe restreint de censeurs sous contrat et payés par l'état d'examiner tous les textes en papier manuscrits et imprimés. Ces censeurs, que nous suivrons jusqu'à la fin du règne de José I et du mandat de Pombal comme ministre du roi en 1777, clôturaient le plus souvent leurs rapports avec la démonstration que le texte en analyse était « digne » ou « indigne de la lumière publique ». Il s'agit d'une expression extrêmement révélatrice ; elle porte en elle une charge historique importante, qui met enjeu ce trinôme "dignité", "lumières" et "publique" si paradoxale dans la plume d'un censeur, en utilisant des mots les plus significatifs que le XVIIIème siècle ait légué à la postérité. Ce qui nous pose une question plutôt dérangeante : nous avons pris l'habitude de penser les censeurs comme étant les grands ennemis des Lumières et voilà que nous les rencontrons comme ses co-bâtisseurs ? L'histoire de la censure est aussi l'histoire des régimes de pouvoir et de connaissance. La censure dépend, en grande mesure, non seulement du pouvoir, mais aussi de la connaissance ; elle partage avec le savoir de son époque des informations, des concepts, des formes mentales, des pratiques intellectuelles ; serait-il alors possible que la censure du XVIIIème siècle partage avec les Lumières des éléments tellement centraux que l'on pourrait la considérer davantage comme une censure éclairée que comme une censure anti-Lumières ?
The kind of censorship that is the focus of this dissertation took shape in an institution founded in 1768 in Portugal, the Real Mesa censoria, with which the rights of censorship of the Inquisition and the bishops were abolished and the jurisdiction of the Roman Index of banned and purged books terminated. A small group of censors, hired and paid by the state, was charged to examine ail the texts either manuscript or printed, in the kingdom and its dominions. These censors, whom we will follow until the end of the reign of José I and the of the mandate of the Marquis de Pomba as minister of the king in 1777, usually finished their reports with a démonstration of whether the text in analysis was "worthy" [digno] or "unworthy of the public Light". This is an extremely revealing expression as it carries an important historié signifîcance, which involves the triad "dignity", "Enlightenment" and "public", so paradoxical in the pen of a censor, using the more significant words that the eighteenth century bequeathed to posterity. Which warrants a rather disturbing question: we have become accustomed to think that the censors were the greatest enemies of the Enlightenment and now we meet them also as its builders ? The history of censorship is also the history of régimes of power and knowledge. Censorship dépends to a large extent, not only on power, but also on knowledge, sharing with the knowledge of its time information, concepts, mental forms and intellectual practices. Would it be possible that the censorship of the eighteenth century has shared with the Enlightenment so many key elements that it could be regarded more as an enlightened censorship than as an anti-Enlightenment censorship ?

Au Gabon, le Censeur de vie scolaire (CVS) est nommé en Conseil de Ministres. C’est une fonction qui suscite un certain nombre de préoccupations au regard de l’environnement entropique dans lequel elle s’exerce, de sa méconnaissance et incompréhension par les différents acteurs et surtout à cause de l’inexistence d’un cadre institutionnel et fonctionnel clairement défini. L’environnement entropique pose la question des valeurs dont l’élève est imprégné et celle du pragmatisme éthique du CVS, vu qu’il a la responsabilité de donner aux élèves la capacité de « s’élever » eux-mêmes sur les plans physique, intellectuel, moral, mental et pourquoi pas spirituel. Par une approche de l’étendue du mouvement profond de l’éthique, de la responsabilité vocationnel, par des valeurs caractéristiques, il a été possible de comprendre, à travers l’analyse du contenu des entretiens avec les sujets, l’éthique des sujets. C’est une éthique aux variations et vibrations fréquentielles faibles, propres à chaque sujet. Elle présente aussi des convergences vers une transversalité à tous les sujets. A cette éthique, nous proposons une amélioration de l’environnement de travail des sujets tout comme une croissance et un dépli de leur ipséité professionnelle. Nous entrevoyons de mettre l’instabilité et la faiblesse des interactions des sujets au profit d’un mouvement réenchanteur de leur réalité, par l’action non intentionnelle. Les sujets pourraient se défaire du moi observateur pour accepter l’instabilité qu’occasionne le changement constant de ce moi
In Gabon, the deputy Head master in charge of life and discipline reaches that function after a nomination decided in a council of ministers. This function raises some concern related to the entropic environment in which the activity is practiced.The entropic setting with reference to the learner raises the question of the values the latter is marked with. As for the function of deputy headmaster in charge of school life and discipline, the concern is that of his/her ethical pragmatism, given that he/she has the duty to conduct the training of the pupils while giving them the opportunity to “arise” physically, intellectually, morally and if possible, spiritually. As for the approaches in this dissertation, we dealt with the complexity of the deep movement of ethics, the responsibility at vocational and meta-levels and that of specific and contextual values that have been identified through the analysis of the interviews the pupils have been submitted to and which are recorded as ethics of the target audience. It is an ethics whose variations and weak frequencial variations are specific to each person.At the individual level, every deputy headmaster in charge of school life and discipline should reach a growth and a depli of his/her professional ipseity. Beyond the individual ethics, our aim in proposing an improvement of the working environment is to use the instability and the weakness of the subjects’ interactions as unintentionally favoring elements of their reality. The subjects can therefore get rid of the consciousness of their observing ego, to adopt the instability caused by a constant change of standpoint

A la déclaration de guerre en septembre 1939, la censure est rétablie sous le contrôle des militaires pour empêcher les critiques de la politique du gouvernement et encadrer les informations militaires. Les bureaux de la censure s'installent à Pau et contrôlent la presse départementale. Après l'armistice, la censure passe aux mains des civils et se structure dans le cadre d'une organisation régionale, dépendant d'une censure centrale à Vichy. En novembre 1941, la nomination à Pau d'Henri Peyre durcit le contrôle de presse. Les conflits se multiplient avec les trois quotidiens : Le Patriote, l'Indépendant et France Pyrénées. Le censeur transforme ses services en une officine de propagande et de délation. Il surveille de très près la vie publique et culturelle avec beaucoup de zèle. A la Libération, les journaux palois passent en jugement et disparaissent, le censeur est condamné à dix ans de travaux forcés
Following the declaration of war in September 1939, censorship is reestablished under the control of military forces to prevent people from criticizing the government’s policy and to regulate the communication of military information. Censorship offices settle down in Pau and check the departmental press. After the armistice is signed, censorship falls into the hands of civilians and forms itself under a regional organization which depends on the central censorship office in Vichy. In November 1941, when Henri Peyre is nominated in Pau, measures to monitor the press are strengthened. There are increasing numbers of conflicts involving the three daily newspapers: Le Patriote, l'Indépendant and France Pyrénées. The censor transforms his services into a propaganda and informing outlet. He closely monitors the public and cultural life with great zeal. After the liberation, newspapers in Pau stand trial and disappear. The censor, in turn, is sentenced to ten years of forced labour

Abstract:
The aim of this bachelor’s thesis is to examine parents’ and librarians’ views on censorship in children’s library. Similarities and differences between the opinion of librarians, and parents with children in the age of 0 to 12 years, have been examined. To analyse the result Jürgen Habermas’ theory of lifeworld and system has been used, together with research, mostly from USA, about censorship of children’s library. There is not much research available on censorship at children's libraries in Sweden, instead newspaper articles on controversial children's literature have been used in this paper to shed light upon the current Swedish views on censorship in children's libraries. Qualitative interviews with two librarians, working in the children’s library, and two parents, with children who visit the children's library regularly, were made. In summary, the research shows that there are actually not many differences in opinion of censorship in children’s library between the parents and librarians. A new question arises: why do we have a discussion in media about censorship of children’s library, when the respondents of this research think the controversial books should not be moved. And is it coincidental that all our respondents shared the same view on censorship of children's literature, or is it the common opinion among children's librarians and parents of younger children in Sweden?

A presente tese se insere no esforço teórico recente de reconceituar a censura, para além dos modernos estreitamento semântico e conotação negativa associados à palavra. Para tanto, partindo da premissa metodológica benjaminiana de que o saber exige uma integração de áreas, a pesquisa aqui apresentada se deu em múltiplos fronts: os casos de censura durante a ditadura militar brasileira e o discurso oficial que a fundamentava; a formulação da censura pela teoria política moderna; o caso clássico do banimento dos poetas da República de Platão; a reivindicação da função censora por artistas e jornalistas; a magistratura do Censor da Roma antiga; o conceito psicanalítico de censura; a relação entre censura e direitos autorais, etc. A investigação produziu como resultados tanto uma visão sincrônica da censura, em que esta aparece como suplemento constitutivo da lei que age sobre os costumes, com-formando os sujeitos (no duplo sentido) a uma hierarquia do sensível, quanto um olhar diacrônico a respeito dela, em que o atual processo de eufemização da linguagem apresentou-se como a estratégia censória de um tempo que prescinde de órgãos censores propriamente ditos.
In the past decades, a theoretical effort has been made in order to re-conceptualize "censorship", avoiding the semantic narrowing and negative connotation that modern views have associated to the word. This thesis takes part of that initiative, subscribing Walter Benjamin's methodological project, according to which knowledge demands an integration of research fields. Therefore, multiple fronts are taken into account: censorship in recent Brazilian dictatorship and the official discourse that supported it; conceptualization of censorship in modern political theory; the classic topos of Plato's banishment of poets in his ideal Republic; demands of censorship made by artists and journalists; the functions and roles of antique Roman's Censor magistrate; psychoanalytic conception of censorship; the relationship between censorship and copyright; etc. According to the results of our research, censorship can be conceived synchronically, as a constitutive supplement of law, which acts upon customs, con-forming subjects to a hierarchy of the sensible, as well as diachronically, consisting nowadays in a broad process that euphemizes language, a censorial strategy of a time that pretends to prescind from formal censorship institutions.

Edição Crítica de textos teatrais de João Augusto. Reuniram-se para esta edição quatro textos, a saber: A Chegada de Lampião no inferno, Antônio, meu santo, Felismina engole-brasa e Quem não morre num vê Deus, a partir de três critérios: textos adaptados da literatura de cordel, com mais de um testemunho, produzidos no período da ditadura militar na Bahia, e, portanto, submetidos ao exame da Censura. Apoiando-se nos pressupostos teórico-metodológicos da Crítica Textual, procedeu-se ao estudo e a edição dos textos teatrais selecionados. Abordaram-se aspectos relacionados ao autor, João Augusto, e à sua produção literária dramática. Para tratamento do tema escolhido, adotouse o método filológico empregado para a edição dos textos, através do cumprimento das etapas que se seguem: recensio, collatio, emendatio, stemma codicum, constitutio textus. Por fim, apresentam-se os textos críticos acompanhados dos respectivos aparatos, indicando-se, neles, as variantes. Apresentam-se, em anexo, todos os testemunhos dos textos teatrais usados nesta edição.

The research focused on the issue of censorship on Facebook, verify the existence of this censorship and its nature, how this censorship is made and justified to users, how the American social network treats the content published by its users, censorship cases were searched on the EFF website (Eletronic Frontier Foundiation, an American civil rights organization such as freedom of expression on the internet, the survey touched on important Internet issues such as privacy, mass surveillance by governments and the private sector. censorship found range from activists of black movements censored by the denunciation of racist messages they receive, journalists who have been censored for reasons ranging from the disclosure of documents on political scandals or war crimes, research using the terms in their version of the year of 2015, every user entering a social network on the internet had to agree with the terms and privacy policy, the terms under which conditions a publication may be withdrawn
A pesquisa se debruçou sobre a questão da censura no Facebook e sobre a verificação da existência dessa censura e sua natureza, além de como essa censura é feita e justificada aos usuários. Houve um questionamento de como a rede social americana trata o conteúdo publicado pelos seus usuários. As consultas sobre os casos de censura foram realizadas no site da EFF (Eletronic Frontier Foundiation), organização americana que milita pelos direitos civis como a liberdade de expressão na internet. A pesquisa percorreu questões importantes para a internet como a privacidade, vigilância em massa feita pelos governos e pelo setor privado. Os casos de censura encontrados variam desde ativistas dos movimentos negros censurados pela denúncia de mensagens racistas que recebem e jornalistas que foram censurados por motivos que vão desde a divulgação de documentos sobre escândalos políticos ou crimes de guerra. A pesquisa concordou com a utilização dos termos em sua versão do ano de 2015 tendo em vista que os termos atuais foram divulgados na fase de finalização desta pesquisa, portanto não seria possível analisá-los. Todo usuário ao entrar em uma rede social na internet teve concordar com os termos e a politica de privacidade, os termos colocam em quais condições uma publicação pode ser retirada

Abstract:
In what French philosopher Gilles Deleuze labelled Control Societies, mechanisms reminiscent of censorship – that is, restriction of information that administrators of power wish to regulate the spreading of – are present in the concept of copyright. This kind of censorship has theadvantage of not being scrutinized by public eyes in the way that the work of institutionalized censorship agencies such as the Swedish Statens Biografbyrå was. It is not unlikely that expanded possibilities for punishing anyone who spreads copyrighted material will result in larger and larger areas that may not be accessed, as the avoiding of conflict and repressive actions will emphasize the behaviour to take detours around information that is deemed taboo and therefore suspicious and dangerous. The ACTA trade agreement is one proposed tool for such extended possibilities for punishment. This essay does not however claim that copyright and censorship are the same – but rather that the institutional execution of power that was previously a matter of state censorship has a lot of similarities with current and prognosticated application of copyright laws by corporations. While claiming to protect the individual, the disciplinary power executed actually aims to protect the one executing it; the purpose of the power structure is to replicate itself.

Abstract:
This paper is a research review in the realm of censorship systems andfiltering systems. It applies ethical considerations to the creation of censorshipsystems bringing forward discussion on the ethics of technology with thepurpose of limiting access to information.There is active research being done in the area of automatic content filteringand censorship systems. These are systems that can filter out undesiredmaterial, typically from the Internet, automatically. Used in some nations,many schools and even mandated in some libraries there are many ethicalquestions raised concerning censorship and access to information.Part of the review concerns the level of accuracy of these systems presentedby researchers in the field and the different approaches used. Reviewedarticles centre around automatic content classification and filtering ofpotentially harmful materials with regards to minors while some relate tocensorship technology in a wider sense.Results show a general lack of discussion concerning the ethics of thetechnology in the research reviewed. Most of the filtering systems underdiscussion are concerned with pornographic material. The existence of somekind of moral guidelines are often implied but hardly explored explicitly ordefined. The most common techniques are intelligent content filters in theforms of textual or visual analysis and increasingly both combined. Resultsindicate a high reliability for filtering pornography and significantly lowerresults for other domains.

Esta dissertação tematiza a cultura musical de 1970, a partir de uma leitura de cadernos culturais do jornal O Estado de São Paulo, Jornal do Brasil e Zero Hora, publicados no ano inaugural da década de setenta, tendo como hipótese uma estratégia editorial utilizada por estes três diários: a divulgação de celebridades musicais. O período político no Brasil, isto é, a censura à liberdade de expressão imposta pela ditadura militar também é contemplada neste estudo. Assim, a proposta deste trabalho é analisar as diferentes formas, utilizadas por esses diários, para anunciar e construir os artistas da música. As opções que estes jornais fazem para substituir a impossibilidade de trazer os sons e a função destes artigos, no ano de 1970, enquanto sons inaudíveis na superfície do texto impresso, bem como os aspectos que envolveram a produção musical nesse ano ganharam visibilidade durante a leitura desses artigos e por essa razão também são analisados neste estudo.

Abstract:
Det här arbetet handlar om konstnärlig frihet och censur, hur det drabbar människor på olika sätt i olika länder. Genom att lyfta personliga berättelser av censur med hjälp av intervju och grafisk design hoppas jag öka förståelse människor emellan men även lyfta vikten av demokrati och konstnärlig frihet. Iran och Sverige är två på många sätt skilda länder och samhällen, ett är öppet och demokratiskt och det andra slutet och strikt kontrollerat men i grund och botten enas vi i en universell strävan efter frihet och ett bättre liv. Vad är det för ämnen som censureras och väcker starka reaktioner, är det samma i Iran och Sverige? Det är en av de frågeställningar jag utforskar i detta arbete. Då jag själv för första gången stötte på censur väckte det en tanke i mig kring hur många som lever i det hela tiden, utan att kunna påverka och förändra. Jag har en önskan att lyfta de människornas berättelser och erfarenheter för att visa hur det kan vara när den friheten tas ifrån en. Jag har lärt mig mycket kring vad censur är och på vilka olika sätt det kan te sig. I Sverige sker inte censuren systematiskt av någon myndighet som förhandsgranskar konst och kultur men det betyder inte att vi är opåverkade av det. Genom självcensur på grund av hat och hot tystas konstnärers röster. Det finns en ekonomisk faktor som är stor och påverkar konstnärens sociala och ekonomiska situation. Vi kan inte heller acceptera att politiker lägger sig i det konstnärliga uttrycket, vi måste utnyttja vår demokratiska rättighet att protestera och demonstrera när konsten kidnappas i politiska syften. Genom enkäter, mindmaps, intervjuer, litteraturstudie och skisser utforskar jag hur jag kan uttrycka vikten av konstnärlig frihet och motverka censur med grafisk design. Med hjälp av illustration, färg, typografi och symboler gör jag en artefakt, ett fanzine, som är tänkt att väcka känslor kring hur det känns att leva och växa upp under censur och förtryck. Jag tror att mycket fördomar människor emellan grundar sig i okunskap och genom att ge den inblicken i ett annars slutet samhälle så som Iran ändå är hoppas jag kunna minska det.
This thesis delas with the topic of artistic freedom and censurship, how it affects people diffrently in different countrys and societies. By highlighting stories of censorship with the help of interviews and graphic design. I aim not only to increase awareness between people but also to highlight the importance of democracy and artistic freedom. Iran and Sweden are two, in many ways, different countrys and societies, one open and democratic and the other strictly controlled, however, deep down we are united in a universal pursuit of freedom and strive for a better life. What are the subjects that are censored and provoke strong reactions, is it the same in Iran and Sweden? This is one of the issues I explore in this thesis. When I myself first came across censorship, it made me think about how many people live surrounded by it all the time, whitout beeing able to influence or change it. I have a desire to lift those people’s stories and experiences to show what it is like when that freedom is taken away. I have learned a lot about what censorship is and in how many different ways it can manifest. In Sweden, censorship does not occur systematic and previewed by a government agency that controlles art and artists but that does not mean we are unaffected by it. Through self-censorship caused by threats, artist’s voices are silenced. There is an economic factor that plays a big role and affects the artists economic and social situation. Nor should we accept politicians interference in an artistic expression, we must exercise our democratic right to protest and make our voices heard when art is kidnapped for political purposes. Through surveys, mind maps, interviews, literature study and sketches, I explore how I can express the importance of artistic freedom and counteract censorship through graphic design. With the help of illustration, color, typography and symbols, I make an artifact, a fanzine, which is meant to express feelings about how it feels to live and grow up under censorship and oppression. I believe that a lot of prejudice between people is based on ignorance and by giving a glimpse of how life is like under the pressures of censorship and strict rules in Iran, I hope to decrease it.

Ce travail est le résultat d'un projet de recherche qui vise à examiner le fonctionnement de la paternité impliquant le nom et l'oeuvre de Chico Buarque du point de vue de l'analyse du discours français, compte tenu de la relation entre le sujet, de la parole et de la paternité au point convergence avec l'histoire. Par conséquent, il a été pris comme corpus d'analyse, six lettres de la musique du compositeur, Chico Buarque, produite dans la période de la dictature militaire brésilienne, trois d'entre eux ont signé comme Chico Buarque et trois, signé par Julinho nom de Adelaide, pseudonyme auteur. Il était, par conséquent, pour le développement de la réflexion, le fait que le compositeur a créé une façon d'essayer de contourner la censure par un surnom qui a continué à signer des paroles écrites par lui. Ainsi, la recherche tient sous les contributions théoriques qui incluent les termes “sujet”, “discours” et “auteur” dans la perspective de l'analyse du discours, en particulier les contributions de Michel Foucault. Pour le développement de la proposition, il y avait une recherche de la littérature à travers le levage, la lecture et rapport de livre divers textes portant sur le sujet en question, suivie d'une analyse des lettres qui forment le corpus. De les lectures et les analyses ont abordé la question du fonctionnement de la censure dans le milieu de l'année 1960 et 1970, période de la dictature militaire brésilienne, pour la recherche que la question de la paternité peut être comprise dans cette période historique des postulats d'analyse discours et quels facteurs externes peuvent influencer la langue dans le fonctionnement de l'auteur, et qui valide un texte avec le nom que les signes. Par conséquent, il a été constaté que l'action de la censure sur des lettres écrites par Chico Buarque, a agi à partir du nom qui a été liée à la lettre et pas seulement le discours, ils ont attaché, la mise en place d'une forme de censure, ce est, malgré interférences fait, parfois, dans les textes, il y avait un examen préalable du contenu affiché à l'auteur de Chico Buarque.
O presente trabalho é resultado de uma proposta de investigação que tem como objetivo principal analisar o funcionamento da autoria envolvendo o nome e obra de Chico Buarque sob a perspectiva da Análise do Discurso de Linha Francesa, considerando as relações entre sujeito, discurso e autoria em ponto de convergência com a História. Para tanto, tomou-se como corpus para análise seis letras de músicas do compositor, Chico Buarque de Hollanda, produzidas no período da Ditadura Militar Brasileira, sendo três delas assinadas como Chico Buarque e outras três assinadas pelo nome Julinho da Adelaide, pseudônimo de autor. Considerou-se, portanto, para o desenvolvimento da reflexão, o fato de o compositor ter criado uma forma de tentar driblar a censura por meio de um pseudônimo que passou a assinar algumas letras de músicas por ele escritas. Desse modo, a pesquisa sustenta-se sob os aportes teóricos que contemplam os termos “sujeito”, “discurso” e “autoria”, na perspectiva da Análise do Discurso, em especial os aportes de Michel Foucault. Para desenvolvimento da proposta, realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica, por meio de levantamento, leitura e fichamento de textos diversos, contemplando a temática em questão, seguida por uma parte de análise das letras que compuseram o corpus. A partir das leituras e análises, tomou-se a questão do funcionamento da censura em meados dos anos de 1960 e 1970, período da Ditadura Militar Brasileira, para investigação de como a questão da autoria pode ser compreendida nesse período histórico, a partir dos postulados da Análise do Discurso, e quais os fatores externos à língua podem influenciar no funcionamento do autor, bem como o que valida um texto pelo nome que o assina. Logo, verificou-se que a ação da censura, sobre as letras escritas por Chico Buarque, agiu a partir do nome que era vinculado à letra e não exatamente pelo discurso que elas,veiculavam configurando uma espécie de censura prévia, ou seja, apesar das interferências feitas, em alguns momentos, nos textos, havia uma consideração prévia do conteúdo veiculado à autoria de Chico Buarque.

Argumenta que el estudio de la circulación de la literatura francesa permite examinar las contradicciones de la política cultural impulsada por la administración borbónica.---The dissemination of French literature in the Peruvian viceroyalty in the second part of the XVIII century is the theme of this article. The author reconstructs how, via commerce and contraband, forbidden and non-forbidden French books reached the hands of readers in colonial society. The author argues that the study of the circulation of French literature allows us to examine the contradictions in the cultural policy fostered by the Bourbon administration.

Contrairement à une idée reçue, la censure n’a pas disparu de l'horizon politique avec l'avènement, puis le développement des régimes démocratiques. Il existe toujours une censure, qui est spécifique à l'image. Nous disons une censure de l'image et non une censure des images, car on ne saurait la réduire à une censure d'informations, qui seraient sensibles dans un contexte politique donné. C'est la nature même de l'image qui est problématique dans la censure dont nous parlons et, à travers elle, nous voudrions montrer en quel sens la politique a à voir avec l'image. Car, de Platon à Rousseau, la politique entretient une relation conflictuelle avec elle, qu'elle soit pensée sur le mode de l'imitation ou sur celui de la représentation. A chaque fois, l'image met en jeu une forme, un processus de formation, qui est également au travail dans la construction de la communauté politique. L'élaboration de la cité suppose l'imitation d’une forme, qui doit demeurer toujours active pour que la cité continue d'exister. Une déformation, une faille dans la forme et l'imitation échoue, avec pour conséquence l'effondrement de la réalité politique. C'est le même travail de recherche d'une forme qui pérennise l'image, que les artistes poursuivent. Le goût lui-même atteste de cette prégnance de la forme dans le regard que nous portons sur les images : nous détestons les images qui rappellent aux hommes la faiblesse de leur propre condition. Plus encore, nous détestons les images construites sur ce qu'il y a de moins solide, de moins résistant et de plus faible en l'homme. Le goût ne nous semble pas tant une affaire de sujets traités, qu'une question renvoyant aux affects mobilisés et suscités par les images. Nous l'avons noté, les images se construisent selon un processus analogue à celui de la cité ; et pourtant, elles apparaissent fréquemment comme ce qui, par nature, la menace. Ce paradoxe d'une image que le politique rêve d'excommunier, mais dont elle ne parvient jamais à enrayer le développement, voire dont elle fait un modèle de son propre processus, nous paraît essentiel pour comprendre qu'il existe des politiques de l'image

Debates about suitable content in children's literature occur regularly. In spring 2010 such a debate took place in Sweden. The purpose of this Bachelor's thesis is to analyse the debate to identify ideas concerning the role of children's literature in society. A second aim is to examine how children's literature is described and which concepts are used by the debaters. The empirical material used for the analysis consists of ten articles, blog posts, radio- and TV- features published in March 2010. The combined theory and method applied is the discourse analysis described in Ernesto Laclau & Chantal Mouffe's discourse theory. In the theories of Laclau & Mouffe concepts like nodal points, equivalence chains, antagonism and subject positions play a dominant role in the production of objectivity. Three nodal points are identified in the analysis: 'censorship', 'children's needs' and 'parents of today'. The nodal points are connected to subject positions and acting space. They are also related to questions of power and the cumulative effects of media. It is my conclusion that there is a divergence between aesthetical and didactical outlooks in the debate. Another opposition in the debate concerns children's needs versus parents’ comprehension about children and childhood. The study also shows that authors and representatives from publishing houses are given particular acting space in comparison to representatives from the culture sphere and parents.

Ce travail a pour objectif d'analyser les relations ambigües entre le rock et le monde politique aux États-unis. Trois cas de figures sont possibles : lorsque la politique censure, lorsque les artistes s'engagent politiquement, et lorsque les politiciens se servent des artistes, à des fins électorales notamment. Les années 80, et plus particulièrement l'année 1985, constituent une période privilégiée pour l'observation de ces liens complexes qui unissent rock et politique. Pourquoi ? D'une part, en 1985, on assiste à la naissance d'une association créée par des femmes de politiciens : le parents' music resource center (PMRC), (dont le but est, même s'il s'en defend, de censurer certaines chansons rock), et d'autre part, le milieu des années 80 est marqué par le début des concerts caritatifs. Ce qui est surprenant, c'est qu'une infime partie des artistes rock se battent contre le PMRC; ils sont pour la plupart investis dans ces concerts de charité, et en cela réside leur seul engagement"politique". Nous remarquerons simultanément que même dans les années 80 les politiciens n'ont pas toujours eu de rapports conflictuels avec les rock stars (ces dernières ayant été souvent récupérées par les politiques). Bien que ce travail se fonde sur le milieu des années 80, il est nécessaire de revenir aux décennies précédentes afin d'étudier le cheminement qui a provoqué l'explosion du PMRC. Cela nous permettra de montrer comment la politique, ou plutôt l'establishment, s'est toujours opposé é ce courant musical et l'a censuré (on s'aperçoit en fait que l'on a toujours reproché les mêmes choses au rock et qu'en ce sens le PMRC n'a rien inventé), d'étudier l'engagement politique des artistes à des moments clés de l'histoire du rock, et enfin de mettre en exergue les relations privilégiées qu'ont pu tisser les politiciens avec des artistes rock
The point of this work is to analyse the ambiguous relationship between rock and the political world in the united states. Three occurences are feasible : when politics censure, when the artists commit themselves politically and when the politicians use the artists, particularly with a political end in view. The eighties and more exactly 1985 - constitute a privileged period for the observation of the intricate bonds that link rock and politics. Why? On the one hand, in 1985, we attented the birth of an association which was created by some politicians' wives : the parents' music resource center (pmrc), (whose aim is, though it denies it, to censure some rock songs), and on the other hand, the mid-eighties were marked by the first charity concerts. What is surprising is that a tiny part of rock performers are fighting against the PMRC; most of them have invested in those charity concerts, and their only political commitment lies in this. We simultaneously notice that even in the eighties the politicians have not always have a conflicting relationship with rock stars (the latest often being won over by politicians). Although this work is based on the mid-eighties, it is necessary to go back to the previous decades so as to study the advance which entailed the explosion of the pmrc. This will enable us to show how politics - or let's say the establishment - has always clashed with this musical trend and censured it (in fact, we realize that rock has always been blamed for the same things, and in this way the pmrc hasn't invented anything). This will also enable us to study the political commitment of the artists at important moments of the history of rock, and at last to underline the privileged relationship politicians were able to weave with some rock performers

La phase II d’un essai clinique représente une étape importante de l’évaluation d’une thérapeutique. Il s’agit d’une étape de sélection ayant pour objectif d’identifier les traitements efficaces, qui seront évalués de manière comparative en phase III, et ceux qui, jugés inefficaces seront abandonnés. Le choix du critère de jugement et la règle de décision sont les éléments essentiels de cette étape de l’essai clinique. En cancérologie, le critère de jugement est principalement de nature binaire (réponse au traitement). Cependant, depuis quelques années, les essais de phase II considèrent également les délais d’événement censurés ou non (délai de survie sans progression). Dans le cadre de ce travail de thèse, nous nous sommes intéressés à ces deux types de critères dans le cas de plans d’expérience à deux étapes comportant une possibilité d’arrêt précoce pour futilité. Les conditions réelles des phases II voient souvent la réalisation pratique de l'essai s'écarter du protocole défini a priori. Les cas les plus fréquents sont l'impossibilité d'évaluer le patient (liée par exemple à un événement intercurrent) ou la réalisation d’un suivi trop court. L’objectif de ce travail de thèse était d'évaluer les répercussions entrainées par ces modifications et de proposer des solutions alternatives. Ce travail comporte deux parties principales. Dans la première partie, nous traitons d’un critère de jugement binaire avec patients non évaluables ; dans la seconde d’un critère censuré avec un suivi plus court. Lorsque le critère de jugement est binaire, le plan d’expérience dit « de Simon » est le plus souvent utilisé. Mais ce plan d’expérience nécessite que la réponse de tous les sujets inclus soit connue au temps d’intérêt clinique choisi. En conséquence, comment devons-nous analyser les résultats de l’essai lorsque certains patients sont non évaluables et quelles sont les conséquences sur les caractéristiques opérationnelles de ce plan ? Plusieurs stratégies ont été envisagées (exclusion, remplacement ou considération des patients non évaluables comme des échecs), l’étude de simulation que nous avons réalisée dans le cadre de ce travail montre qu’aucune de ces stratégies ne permet de respecter les risques de première et de seconde espèce fixés a priori. Pour pallier à ces défaillances, nous avons proposé une stratégie dite de « sauvetage » qui repose sur une reconstruction du plan de Simon à partir des probabilités de réponse sous les hypothèses nulle et alternative sachant que le patient est évaluable. Les résultats de nos études de simulations montrent que cette stratégie permet de minimiser les déviations aux risques de première et de seconde espèce alors qu’il y a moins d’information que planifiée dans l’essai. Depuis la dernière décennie, de nombreux schémas considérant les délais d’événement ont été développés. En pratique, l’approche naïve estime la survie sans progression par un taux brut à un temps fixé et utilise un schéma de Simon pour établir une règle de décision. Case et Morgan ont proposé en 2003 un plan d’expérience comparant les taux de survie sans progression estimés à un temps choisi. Considérant l’ensemble du suivi, Kwak et al. (2013) ont proposé d’utiliser la statistique dite du one-sample log-rank pour comparer la courbe de survie sans progression observée à une courbe théorique. Ce dernier schéma permet d’intégrer le maximum d’information disponible et ainsi d’inclure moins de patients pour tester les mêmes hypothèses. Ce plan d’expérience nécessite cependant un suivi de tous les patients de leur inclusion jusqu’à la fin de l’essai. Cette hypothèse semble peu réaliste ; en conséquence, nous avons proposé une nouvelle stratégie basée sur une modification du schéma de Kwak pour un suivi réduit. (...)
Phase II clinical trials are a key stage in drug development. This screening stage goal is to identify the active drugs which deserve further confirmatory studies in phase III trials from the inactive ones whose development will be stopped. The choice of the endpoint and the decision rules are major elements in phase II trials. In oncology, the endpoint is usually binary (response to treatment). For few years, phase II trials have considered time-to-event data as primary endpoint e.g. progression-free survival. In this work, we studied two-stage designs with futility stop with binary or time-to-event endpoints. In real life, phase II trials deviate from the protocol when patient evaluation is no longer feasible (because of intercurrent event) or when the follow-up is too short. The goal of this work is to evaluate the consequences of these deviations on the planned design and to propose some alternative ways to analyze or plan the trials. This work has two main parts. The first one deals with binary endpoints when some unevaluable patients occur and the second one studies time-to-event endpoints with a reduced follow-up. With binary endpoints, the Simon’s plan is the most often used design in oncology. In Simon’s plans, response at a clinical time point should be available for all the included patients. Therefore, should be analyzed the trial when some patients are unevaluable? What are the consequences of these unevaluable patients on the operating characteristics of the design? Several strategies have been studied (exclusion, replacement, use unevaluable patients as treatment failures), our simulations show that none of these strategies preserve type I and type II error rates planned in the protocol. So, a « rescue » strategy has been proposed by computing the stopping boundaries from the conditional probability of responding for an evaluable patient under null and alternative hypotheses. Although there is less information than required by the protocol, simulations show that the “rescue” strategy minimizes the deviations of type I and type II error rates. For the last decades, several time-to-event designs have been developed. The naive approach established a Simon’s plan with progression-free survival rates estimated by crude rates at clinical time-point. In 2005, Case and Morgan proposed a design comparing progression-free survival rates calculated by Nelson and Aalen estimates. Failure times were incorporated in the estimates but the comparison was defined at a pre-specified time point. Considering the whole follow-up, Kwak et al. proposed to use one-sample log-rank test to compare an observed survival curve to a theoretical survival curve. The maximum amount of information is integrated into this design. Therefore, the design reduces the sample size. In the Kwak’s design, patients must be followed from their inclusions to the end of the trial (no loss to follow-up). In some cases (good prognosis, long duration trial), this hypothesis seems unrealistic and a modification of the Kwak’s design integrating reduced follow-up has been proposed. This restriction has been compared to the original design of Kwak in several censoring scenario. The two new methods have been illustrated using some phase II clinical trials planned in the Institut Curie. They demonstrate the interest of these methods in real life

O objetivo desta dissertação é analisar de que forma alguns veículos de comunicação de massa vem apresentando à sociedade o discurso da liberdade de expressão e da imprensa livre. Para tal, vamos observar como três grandes jornais do país, o Jornal do Brasil, a Folha de São Paulo e o Jornal do Commercio trataram a questão em dois períodos distintos da democracia brasileira: primeiro nos anos de 1987 e 1988 durante os trabalhos da Subcomissão da Ciência e Tecnologia e da Comunicação que elaborou o texto que serviu de base ao Capítulo V (Da Comunicação) da Constituição. Em seguida na cobertura dada pelos citados jornais à 1a Conferência Nacional de Comunicação, que em dezembro de 2009 reuniu governo, empresas e sociedade civil em um debate sobre liberdade de expressão, de imprensa e regulação da comunicação de massa no país. Partindo de uma análise histórica, busca-se contextualizar e diferenciar conceitos considerados chave para as discussões empreendidas em torno do direito humano à comunicação e à informação: liberdade de expressão, liberdade de imprensa, regulação e censura. A pesquisa examina a participação da chamada mídia de massa nas disputas por poder e hegemonia travadas dentro do espaço público e a forma como essa mesma mídia tem usado o discurso de defesa da liberdade de expressão e de imprensa como instrumento ideológico de proteção e manutenção de interesses materiais e simbólicos nos ambitos político e econômico. Discutiremos como e por que a maior parte dos grandes veículos deturpa tais conceitos, relacionando quase sempre a não intervenção (estatal ou social) nos negócios da comunicação ao efetivo cumprimento do direito individual à livre expressão. Adentraremos ainda em questões como o papel do Estado na garantia dessas liberdades, as tensões que envolvem os processos de compreensão e de utilização desses conceitos e a relação entre tais direitos e o real exercício da democracia. Analisando os aspectos qualitativos e quantitativos das notícias retiradas dos jornais acima citados, procuraremos compreender, portanto, como esses veículos se apropriaram da discussão em torno da importância das liberdades de expressão e de imprensa para as sociedades democráticas, de que forma o levaram ao público e, por fim, de que maneira seus discursos contribuíram para a construção da realidade social dos momentos históricos aqui analisados.

L'acquisition de l écriture s'inscrit dans le processus du langage humain mais elle est communément considérée comme le miroir de la parole. Cette acquisition est faite sous la guidance pédagogique. Il a été observé, au cours d une expérience menée à l'école primaire, que les enseignants pourraient faire cette association, dans leur pratique d enseignement, au cours de l alphabétisation de leurs élèves. Nous avons eu ainsi l'intention de traiter les aspects de cette acquisition dans les écoles. Par conséquent, le but de cette recherche a été d'analyser les réponses des enseignants de la première année de l école primaire (Cours Préparatoire) par rapport à l influence des habilités phonologiques dans le processus de l acquisition de l'écriture. Pour cela, une analyse qualitative a été réalisée à partir d entretiens semi-structurés menés auprès de quatre enseignants de Cours Préparatoire dans deux écoles privées entre le second semestre 2012 et le premier semestre 2013. Les réponses aux conceptions de l'importance des habilités phonologiques dans le développement de l'écriture et de ses méthodes d'enseignement ont été analysées sur la base de l approche théorique de la recherche. Celle-ci a été basée sur des formulations théoriques proposées par les chercheurs du « Projet interactionniste de l'acquisition du langage », fondé par Claudia de Lemos et développé par la suite par Freire, Bosco, Borges et Palladino. Au cours de la recherche, il a été identifié que, dans le processus d'alphabétisation des écoles, une fragmentation de la langue a lieu. Celle-ci se produit quand la parole et l'écriture sont mises en relation dans un travail visant la valorisation sonore à travers les habilités phonologiques. Ainsi, il est possible d amplifier la réflexion sur la relation entre l'acquisition du langage oral et écrit à l'école et la vision de l'enfant comme un sujet écrivain à partir du regard de l'éducateur.
A aquisição da escrita está inserida no processo de linguagem humana, mas é vista comumente como espelhamento da fala, podendo ocorrer uma irrelevância da subjetividade do falante. Como esta aquisição encontra-se sob direcionamento pedagógico e observando, após experiência no dia a dia escolar, que os professores poderiam fazer essa associação na sua prática de ensino durante o processo de alfabetização de seus alunos, teve-se o intuito de tratar sobre as concepções desses docentes e os aspectos dessa aquisição no âmbito das escolas. Por isso, o objetivo dessa pesquisa foi analisar as respostas dos professores do 1º ano do Ensino Fundamental, a respeito da influência das habilidades fonológicas no processo de aquisição de escrita. Para tanto, foi realizada uma análise qualitativa através de entrevista semiestruturada com quatro professoras do 1º ano do Ensino Fundamental de duas escolas particulares, entre o segundo semestre de 2012 e o primeiro de 2013. As respostas às concepções sobre a importância das habilidades fonológicas no desenvolvimento da escrita e seus métodos de ensino foram analisadas nas formulações propostas pelos pesquisadores do Projeto Interacionista em Aquisição de Linguagem, fundado por Cláudia de Lemos e desenvolvido por seguidores como Freire, Bosco, Borges e Palladino. Com a realização da pesquisa, identificou-se que ocorre no processo de alfabetização nas escolas, uma fragmentação da língua ao se relacionar a fala com a escrita em um trabalho voltado para a valorização sonora através das habilidades fonológicas. Desse modo, pode-se ampliar a reflexão sobre a relação entre aquisição de linguagem oral e escrita na escola e a visão da criança como um sujeito escritor, a partir do olhar do educador.

Abstract:

The Swedish censorship is an institution run by the Swedish government since 1911 and has cutting films to protect the citizens from unnecessary violence. Their main purpose doesn't work well with the law of copyright in literary and artistic works, as they break this law while cutting movies. They therefore destroy the authors work by doing this, and in this thesis I will point out how they have destroyed the purpose of two scenes in the film Hellraiser and by that, more or less, altered how the audience may look upon two of the characters in the film.  The results points to the unnecessary way of physically cutting films to protect the audience, but also how they choose to work and what preferences they used in their line of work.

The aim of this master thesis is to examine how Swedish public libraries approaches purchasing potentially controversial and anti-democratic books. According to the The Swedish Library Act, libraries should work towards the development of the democratic society and act for the benefit of free speech. If that is the case, how do libraries approach non-democratic works, for example works that speculate in racism or even genocide? This have been a widely discussed topic in media the last couple of years, fuelled by two decisions by the Swedish Parliamentary Ombudsman (Justitieombudsmannen) that ruled that two public libraries acted wrongly in their decisions to deny purchase of a couple of controversial books that had been requested to be purchased by patrons. This study is based on five qualitative interviews of managers representing five different Swedish public libraries, supplemented by a review of the libraries steering documents. To summarize this study finds that there has been a shift over the last couple of years how public libraries approach potentially controversial books. In the past, it was more common for libraries to not carry any books considered anti-democratic or xenophobic. However, today it is very common for libraries to add these kinds of books to their collection. The only aspect a library can deny a purchase on is the “quality” of the work, not the values or opinions expressed in it. Because of the lack of a national definition of what exactly “quality” entails some libraries have worked out their own definition that they use when making decisions regarding media purchases. The representatives didn’t think that a national definition was needed and that and under the current configuration the libraries have more manoeuvrability and can apply their professional competence to a higher degree.

Abstract:
This is a theoretical study of the marks that could be obtained from quizzes, when a census is done. The quizzes are limited to 'special' quizzes and we look at how many obtain a particular mark, and what happens to the distribution of marks when the guessing problem is tackled. Without building any tools we can do some calculations, but then we are driven to writing computer programs that calculate and display the distribution of marks. When computer programs are written they involve such large numbers that computer programs cannot normally handle them. Thus we are driven to languages, like C, where integers of an arbitrary size can be handled in libraries like LEDA. Quizzes can either have all their stems answered or have some of their stems missed. The philosophy of this study is to start off simply and gradually get more complicated, and so 'special' quizzes where all stems are answered are looked at first followed by 'special' quizzes where stems can be missed. The guessing problem is tackled, in this study, by: a) using negative marking, b) raising the pass mark, c) using a more complex quiz. What we find is that when the guessing problem of 'special' quizzes is exactly tackled the distribution of marks moves to the left (when the mean mark is 0), and that the tackling of the guessing problem leads to more problems. All 'special' stems include the answer, which can be guessed. The likelihood of guessing the correct answer to a stem decreases as the complexity of the quiz increases, but then the likelihood of passing also decreases. As the complexity of the quiz increases the distribution is 'bunched' at the lower end which means that half the marks of distribution are between the lowest mark and the mark where the mean occurs. The main conclusion is not quantitative but qualitative and is "Do not use 'special' quizzes for measuring understanding" because 'special' quizzes do not provide a space that allows one to demonstrate one's understanding and are therefore in-valid when understanding is claimed to be measured.

Abstract:
This dissertation is a case study of an agency attempting to continue to operate in terms of an outmoded paradigm, one whose foundation is based on a reference point for decision and action that does not fit the social, political and organizational conditions of postmodernity. The orientation of the study is toward public administration as political process; a political process which reflects the postmodern condition. Postmodern tendencies in culture and society are characterized by a particularly salient "thinning" of reality or development of hyper-reality where communication has lost the check on authenticity found in dialogue. This thinning of the macro culture exists in dialectical contradiction to more robust communities of discourse developing in enclaves in a tendency referred to as neotribalism. These dialectical tendencies lead to "simulated politics," where political entrepreneurs traffic in symbols rather than deeds and substantive policy making is restrained. This development favors those who benefit from the status quo. The Census Bureau is the focal agency. It is facing a crisis of legitimacy in its standoff with the Republican-controlled Congress over its plan to use sampling and estimation to produce a statistically adjusted apportionment count for Census 2000. The case of the Census 2000 stand-off between technocrats at the Census Bureau, supported by the Democratic Clinton administration and organizations and governmental entities that are adversely affected by census undercounts, and the Republican-dominated Congress, is an example of non-dialogic communication. It is masked by a trafficking in symbols and potentially will most likely lead to maintenance of the status quo in the form of traditional census methodology. This methodology differentially undercounts African Americans, Hispanics, American Indians and Asians, as compared to whites. Republicans compare the Census 2000 plan to use sampling to adjust the census for undercounts to the "Hillary Health Care Model" (a derogatory reference to the First Lady's involvement in public policy), describing it as a "polling technique," while Democrats and statisticians cast the argument of Republicans as one of "politicians trying to preserve their domain," and of playing "racial politics". The strategy of the Republican Congress appears to be to discredit the expertise of the Census Bureau and to rely on the legal process and a conservative Supreme Court to derail and nullify the plan for Census 2000, thus causing the agency to revert to the "status quo." Curiously, the Census Bureau has set itself up for this potential outcome by taking a strategically counterproductive and disastrously adversarial approach to the Congress. The Census Bureau has fundamentally misperceived the contemporary cultural environment and the politics that goes with it. It no longer can represent its own position as nonpolitical, value-free science, representing truth and moral right. This lack of perspective has critically hampered the agency's ability to negotiate in a political discourse appropriate to postmodernity. The goal of the study is to make a contribution to furthering organization-environment theory, with emphasis on the political environment. It is this aspect of organization theory generally that has most relevance to Public Administration but that has been least well developed. The dissertation is designed to conform to the traditional Inter-University Case Program (ICP) case study format. As such, the study addresses the broad issue of agency-environment relationship and the role of the public administrator within that environment. As with all ICP-type studies the research does not lead to an "answer." This is especially appropriate now because in the postmodern condition there is no one answer or truth to be found by rational analysis. Rather, ideas, insights, and various conclusions are offered.

In this paper we study the reliability of systems with connected components in series and parallel. For systems in series, the device fails when the first component fails. Although in the parallel systems this happens when the last component fails. We define the distribution functions, sub-distribution functions and their respective properties. Here we present the Bayesian nonparametric estimator for the components of both systems, illustrating by examples. For both cases we performed a comparative study between the Bayesian nonparametric estimator and the Kaplan-Meier method.
Neste trabalho estudamos a con_abilidade de sistemas com componentes ligados em série e sistemas ligados em paralelo. Para sistemas em série, o dispositivo falha quando o primeiro componente falhar, já no sistema em paralelo isto acontece quando o último componente falhar. De_nimos as funções de distribuição e sub-distribuição, bem como suas propriedades. Apresentamos o estimador Bayesiano não-paramétrico para os componentes de ambos os sistemas, ilustrando através de exemplos. Além disso, para ambos os casos, realizamos um estudo comparativo entre o estimador Bayesiano não paramétrico e o estimador de Kaplan-Meier.

This thesis concerns the penomenon of censor of literature and theatre in france, from its origin up to the present. A phonomenon so complex as the present one, cannot be entered upon in our present days using the concepts and representations of the centuries passed. Este trabalho tem por objetivo o estudo da literatura carcerária brasileira (escrita no cárcere ou sob a forma de reminiscência), com ênfase nos escritores que viveram durante o período do Estado Novo (1937-1945). A partir do exame de textos de caráter ficcional, epistolar e memorialístico, procuramos investigar como os autores operaram em suas obras a representação do cárcere, ou, mais precisamente, como refletiram sobre o universo carcerário e como o recriaram enquanto matéria literária. No âmbito historiográfico, procuramos demonstrar que o fenômeno do encarceramento percorre a história da literatura brasileira, sobretudo após a instauração do regime republicano. Trata-se de um trabalho de caráter panorâmico, que parte de apontamentos introdutórios para depois aprofundar-se nos autores inscritos no período referido anteriormente, situando mais detidamente alguns pontos que seriam comuns às suas obras e, ao final, procurando esboçar uma caracterização geral acerca da literatura carcerária brasileira. Acreditamos que o estudo dos escritos do cárcere constitui ocasião privilegiada para examinar a questão do resgate da memória histórica e da identidade individual enquanto fenômeno que conduziria à idéia de uma ética e de uma estética da resistência, forjadas sob as injunções da prisão política.
This work aims to make a study of the Brazilian incarceration literature (written in prison or under the form of memoirs), emphasizing the writers who lived during the period known as Estado Novo (1937-1945). Throughout the examination of fictional, epistolary and memorial texts, we tried to investigate how the authors have made the representation of the prison in their literary compositions, or, more precisely, how they reflected on the incarceration universe and how they recreate it as literary work. Within the historiographys scope, we have tried to demonstrate that the incarceration phenomenon traverses the history of Brazilian literature, especially after the instauration of the republican regimen. It is a work of panoramic character, which begins with introductory notes and then after becomes a deeper study of the authors that belong to the previously mentioned period, focusing more specifically in certain points that would be common to their works and, at the end, tries to sketch a general characterization of the incarceration Brazilian literature. We believe that the study of the pieces of writing from the prisons constitute a privileged occasion to examine the matter of rescuing the historic memory as well as the individual identity as a phenomenon which would lead to the idea of an ethics and an esthetics of resistance, forged under the injunctions of political incarceration.

Resumo: A Conjectura da Censura Cosmica, proposta por Roger Penrose em 1969, afirma que singularidades resultantes de um colapso gravitacional estão sempre envolvidas pelo horizonte de eventos de um buraco negro. O objetivo desse trabalho é investigar processos de tunelamento quântico que visam violar essa conjectura. Através do formalismo de Newman-Penrose, é feita, inicialmente, uma análise de perturbações escalares, de neutrinos, eletromagneticas e gravitacionais nas métricas de Kerr e de Reissner-Nordstr om. Processos de espalhamento ondulatorio nessas métricas são estudados e coeficientes de transmissão e reflexão para ondas incidentes são calculados nos limites de baixas energias. A partir desses resultados, experimentos imaginários com o intuito de destruir o horizonte de eventos de um buraco negro e expor sua singularidade para um observador externo são propostos e analisados. A superradiância, fenômeno no qual ondas incidentes são amplificadas ao serem refletidas por um potencial espalhador, se manifesta nesses experimentos e, por isso, é tratada com detalhes e de uma forma bastante geral nesse trabalho. Por fim, experimentos que visam detectar a radiação Hawking e o fenômeno da superradiância em modelos análogos de gravitação são analisados. Abstract: The Cosmic Censorship Conjecture, proposed by Roger Penrose in 1969, asserts that singularities arising from the gravitational collapse of a body are always encompassed by the event horizon of a black hole. The main purpose of this work is to investigate quantum tunneling processes whose objetive is to violate this conjecture. Using the Newman-Penrose formalism, scalar, neutrino, electromagnetic and gravitational perturbations in both Kerr and Reissner-Nordstr om metrics are analysed. Wave scattering processes in these metrics are studied and transmission and reflection coecients for incident waves are calculated in the limit of small energies. From these results, gedanken experiments with the purpose of destroying the event horizon of a black hole and exposing its inner singularity to an external observer are proposed and analysed. Superradiance, phenomenum in which incident waves are amplified when reflected by a scattering potential, manifests itself in these thought experiments and, therefore, is also treated in detail in this work. Finally, some experiments with the purpose of detecting Hawking radiation and superradiance in analogue models of gravity are analysed. In particular, an experiment proposed by me, in collaboration with Silke Weinfurtner, whose aim is to investigate the possibility of superradiance detection in laboratory, is discussed

Freedom of expression has expanded, especially because of the increase of social media, which intensify the conflicts motivated by the impact of different ideas. Humor has always been present in human history and now it reaches a new level as a form of expression due to professionalization of comedians and the prompt diffusion of their messages through the media, causing discussions about its limits and the possibility of State restriction of the speech. Therefore, this research intends to connect freedom of expression and humor, outlining its concepts, characteristics and main theories. Understanding the importance of humorous discourse as an instrument of criticism with the potential to influence public opinion due to its capability to break through tenets, the theme can be considered as a relevant object of academic research. Thereby, these contemplations are needed for the analyses about the way humor is inserted in society and how it could be understood by the Judiciary that has the attribution to determine responsibilities and inhibit humorous conduct. Thus, the research questions the jurisdictional action and the censorship, approaching the theory of free market of ideas as a counterpoint to the state control of humorous discourse. This study was based on the dialectical method and developed through bibliographical research and jurisprudential understandings
A liberdade de expressão tem se expandido, especialmente devido ao crescimento do acesso aos meios de comunicação, de forma que os conflitos decorrentes da manifestação de diferentes ideias se tornam frequentes. O humor, sempre presente na história humana, atinge um novo patamar como expressão do pensamento devido à rápida difusão dos discursos, o que enseja cada vez mais debates acerca de seus limites e da possibilidade de sua restrição por imposição do Estado. Em vista disso, a presente pesquisa intenciona relacionar a liberdade de expressão com o humor, delineando seus conceitos, características e principais teorias. Ao compreender a importância do discurso humorístico como instrumento de crítica com capacidade para influenciar a formação da opinião pública, tem-se a elevação do tema como objeto relevante de pesquisa acadêmica. Desta forma, utiliza-se dessas considerações para analisar como o humor está inserido na sociedade e como poderia ser compreendido pelo Poder Judiciário ao determinar responsabilidades e inibir condutas. Assim, questiona-se a atuação jurisdicional e a censura, abordando-se a teoria do livre mercado das ideias como contraponto ao controle estatal do discurso. Para a realização do estudo, foi utilizado o método dialético, valendo-se de pesquisa bibliográfica e entendimentos jurisprudenciais dos tribunais pátrios

The popularization of the Internet, with its consequent ease of creation and dissemination of and access to the most varied types of content, has made episodes of tension between freedom of the press and fundamental personality rights, already common in other means of social communication, even more frequent. The purpose of this work is to analyse means of resolving these tensions, taking the architecture of the Internet into consideration, that is, its intrinsic characteristics and system of functioning of the applications most directly and intensely related to the dissemination of and access to journalism. One seeks to define, therefore, the circumstances under which, and to what extent, a judge or a court can restrict journalism that infringes fundamental personality rights on the Internet. Therefore, one has adopted the theory of principles, essentially in the way it has been developed by the German legal philosopher, Robert Alexy, as a model intended to resolve the tensions between fundamental rights. From the standpoint of such theoretical model, this work outlines the legal panorama of freedom of the press in Brazil, comprised of constitutional rules, international treaties and subconstitutional law, including the Internet Civil Regulatory Framework, and defines the fundamental personality rights in question: privacy, intimacy, honor and image. Also examined in this work are essential notions about the Internet, and applications are defined that relate more directly and intensely to the dissemination of and access to journalism. In particular, it highlights which specificities the architecture of the Internet confers on journalism, for the resolution of tensions with fundamental personality rights. Finally, by applying the theoretical model herein adopted for resolving tensions between fundamental rights to actual cases submitted to the Courts, we establish derivative fundamental rights norms and propositions that can be applied to situations of tension between the freedom of the press and fundamental personality rights in the sphere of the Internet, that occur under the same conditions, pertinent to the proposal to mitigate the undesirable state of dissonance and unpredictability of domestic jurisprudence related to the matter
A popularização da Internet, com a consequente facilitação da criação, disseminação e acesso aos mais variados tipos de conteúdo, tornou ainda mais frequentes os episódios de tensão entre a liberdade de informação jornalística e os direitos fundamentais da personalidade, já então comuns nos demais meios de comunicação social. Este trabalho tem por objetivo analisar a forma de resolução dessas situações de tensão, levando em consideração a arquitetura da Internet, isto é, as suas características intrínsecas e a sistemática de funcionamento das aplicações relacionadas de forma mais direta e intensa à difusão e acesso à informação jornalística. Busca-se definir, portanto, sob quais circunstâncias e em que medida um juiz ou tribunal pode restringir, na Internet, informação jornalística ofensiva a direito fundamental da personalidade. Para tanto, é adotada como modelo destinado à resolução das tensões entre direitos fundamentais a teoria dos princípios, essencialmente na forma em que desenvolvida pelo jusfilósofo alemão Robert Alexy. À luz desse modelo teórico, é traçado o panorama jurídico da liberdade de informação jornalística no Brasil, composto por normas da Constituição, de tratados internacionais e da legislação infraconstitucional, incluindo o Marco Civil da Internet, bem como definidos os direitos fundamentais da personalidade em questão: a vida privada, a intimidade, a honra e a imagem. Também são expostas neste trabalho noções essenciais sobre a Internet e definidas as aplicações relacionadas de modo mais direto e intenso à difusão e ao acesso à informação jornalística. Em especial, são destacadas especificidades que a arquitetura da Internet confere à informação jornalística, preponderantes na resolução das tensões com os direitos fundamentais da personalidade. Ao final, mediante o emprego do modelo teórico de resolução de tensões entre direitos fundamentais adotado neste trabalho a casos concretos submetidos ao Judiciário, são estabelecidas normas de direitos fundamentais atribuídas e enunciados, passíveis de aplicação a situações de tensão entre a liberdade de informação jornalística e os direitos fundamentais da personalidade no âmbito da Internet que venham a ocorrer sob as mesmas condições, pertinentes ao propósito de mitigar o indesejado estado de dissonância e imprevisibilidade da jurisprudência pátria relativa à matéria
