Abstract:
This study evaluated the nematicidal activity of the cell-free crude extract (CFCE) of Pleurotus djamor on Meloidogyne incognita under greenhouse conditions. The fungus was grown in a solid medium for 14 days in the dark. Distilled water was added to the medium, filtered, and centrifuged, and the proteolytic activity of the CFCE produced was measured. Three experimental groups were established: control group (distilled water), CFCE (denatured enzymes), and CFCE (active enzymes). The nematicidal activity of the extracts was assessed in vitro on second-stage juveniles (J2) and eggs of M. incogni

Ulcerative colitis is a major risk factor that increases the occurrence of colorectal cancer. In colorectal cancer due to colitis, intestinal inflammation plays an important role which causes DNA damage. The aim of this study is to investigate the anticancer effect of coelomic fluid of Eisenia fetida (CFEF) and cetuximab combinations. Colitis associated colon cancer was induced in BALB/c mice by DSS/AOM. The mice were randomly divided into six groups: group 1 received vehicle (control), groups 2–6 received DSS/AOM, groups 3–5 received cetuximab + CFEF (30, 60, or 120 mg/kgBW), and group 6 rece

1092 Background: Metastasis of breast cancer to the central nervous system (CNS) is common, especially in triple negative and HER2-positive tumors. The CNS is considered immune specialized and likely the brain and brain-border immune microenvironment creates a sanctuary site for breast cancer CNS metastasis. A better understanding of the immune microenvironment may allow for better utilization of immunotherapy to treat CNS metastasis. Toward this goal, we evaluated the cellular transcriptomic profile of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cells and compared between patients with documented metastatic tu

In this study, the anti-inflammatory activity of sulfated polysaccharides isolated from the green seaweed Codium fragile (CFCE-PS) was investigated in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated RAW 264.7 macrophages and zebrafish. The results demonstrated that CFCE-PS significantly increased the viability of LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells in a concentration-dependent manner. CFCE-PS remarkably and concentration-dependently reduced the levels of inflammatory molecules including prostaglandin E2, nitric oxide (NO), interleukin-1 beta, tumor necrosis factor-alpha, and interleukin-6 in LPS-stimulated RAW 26

Abstract:
The durability of cyanate ester (CE) to hyperthermal atomic oxygen (AO) attack in low Earth orbit may be enhanced by the addition of carbon fiber to form a carbon fiber-reinforced cyanate ester composite (CFCE). To investigate the durability of CFCE relative to CE, samples were exposed to a pulsed hyperthermal AO beam in two distinct types of experiments. In one type of experiment, samples were exposed to the beam, with pre- and post-characterization of mass (microbalance), surface topography (scanning electron microscopy (SEM)), and surface chemistry (X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS)).
