In several countries, thrombotic events after vaccination with ChAdOx1 nCoV-19 have led to heterologous messenger RNA (mRNA) boosting. We tested the antibody response to SARS-CoV-2 spike protein four weeks after heterologous priming with the ChAdOx1 (ChAd) vector vaccine followed by boosting with BNT162b2(ChAd/BNT), comparing data of homologous regimen (BNT/BNT, ChAd/ChAd) subjects positive for SARS-CoV-2 after the first dose of BNT162b2 (BNT1dose/CoV2) and convalescent COVID-19. We show how the basic Combinatory Homomorphic Automatic Differentiation (CHAD) algorithm can be optimised, using well-known methods, to yield a simple, composable, and generally applicable reverse-mode automatic differentiation (AD) technique that has the correct computational complexity that we would expect of reverse-mode AD. Specifically, we show that the standard optimisations of sparse vectors and state-passing style code (as well as defunctionalisation/closure conversion, for higher-order languages) give us a purely functional algorithm that is most of the way to the correct complexity,

The region is comparatively lacking in evidence, textual or archaeological, when compared to regions further east and south, and so provides a useful case study on which to test the applicability of narratives developed elsewhere. Aeolian dust studies are of global importance due to the impact of mineral dust on global climate, human health and the environment. Recent research, for example IPCC (2007) highlighted the important effects of atmospheric dust on global climate that has led to an increased interest in wind-blown mineral dust. Despite this increased interest, there is a dearth of field observations from dust sources due to their remoteness and hostility. This has limited the overall understanding of dust emission and led to an over-reliance on model predictions. Thus, there is a strong requirement for field ob

Chad, a landlocked country in Central Africa with an area of 1,284,000 km², is divided into three major agro-climatic zones: the Saharan zone (47% of the area), the Sahelian zone (43% of the area), and the Sudanian zone (10% of the area). In the last census 2018, the agricultural land amounted to about 502,380 square kilometers. Agriculture accounts for two-thirds of the economy in Chad and livestock remains one of the economic backbones with cattle population being the most predominant. The review focuses on refugees from Sudan in Eastern Chad since 2003, and excludes internally displaced persons, or refugees in other parts of Chad. The review finds that the key factors beh
