Integrated paintings are paintings that distinguish themselves from non-traditional materials. It is the use of newspapers, and magazines to make collages and paper cutouts which are not normal painting works of art. The main feature of integrated painting is the variety of materials chosen and the mix and match of multiple materials used. In contemporary art, the use of materials has been reflected in a variety of paintings. In addition to natural materials, the materials created by modern technology also bring more possibilities for the creation of paintings. The different materials and thei

Abstract Calnexin is one of the major Ca2+-binding proteins of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) membrane and has been demonstrated to interact transiently with nascent proteins. This membrane-bound chaperone is proposed to be directly involved in the quality-control mechanism of the ER. Canine calnexin is a type I membrane protein with no oligosaccharide chain (Wada et al. 1991). Although the primary transcript of calnexin cDNA encodes for a 56,403 Da polypeptide, this acidic phosphoprotein migrates abnormally on SDS-PAGE and gives an apparent molecular mass of ca. 90 kDa.

Recanalization of thrombotic coronary occlusion with fibrinolytic treatment is a promising approach to salvage jeopardized ischemic myocardium. However, the success of thrombolytic treatment of myocardial infarction may be curtailed by the risk inherent to reperfusion. Improved myocardial salvage is therefore expected from coadministration of a free radical scavenger and fibrinolytic treatment. We tested this hypothesis in a canine model of left anterior circumfle

Abstract:
Systemic parasitic infections are responsible for serious losses in agriculture. In the reproductive sphere of cattle farming, bovine neosporosis is described as one of the main diseases that causes abortions in cattle herds, generating considerable reproductive and, consequently, economic impacts on the Brazilian livestock sector. This disease is caused by the protozoan Neospora caninum, a coccid found in the form of tissue cysts and intracellular tachyzoites. This condition gives the parasite an efficient capacity for dissemination and transmission within cattle herds and can infect up to 90

Globally $232 billion was spent in the pet industry in 2021 and the compound annual growth rate (CAGR) is estimated to be 4.6%. In the USA alone, $109.6 billion was spent in 2021, and more money is spent annually on pet food and treats than veterinary care or products. Pet parents are increasingly more concerned about the nutritional quality of the foods they feed their animals and their impact on health. Pet food manufacturers are responding to the increased demand for premium food products but importantly, the work of veterinary nutrition researchers is key to ensuring the safety and nutriti

Intracoronary thrombus resulting in acute myocardial ischemia can be lysed by thrombolytic agents, such as, streptokinase or t-PA. We examined the potential of a recombitant tissue-plasminogen activator (rt-PA)and a fibrin (ogen)-degradation productpentapeptide 6A, Ala-Arg-Pro-Ala-Lys, corresponding to aminoacids 43-47 in the BB-chain of fibrinogen, which causes marked increase in coronary blood flow and stimulates prostacyclin release, in restoring coronary blood flow in dqgs with experimentally-induced thrombus. An occlusive thrombus was created in the circumflex (Cx) coronary artery in 8 dc

Abstract:
The objectives of this proposal were to enhance animal health by 1) development of a BTV serogroup diagnostic assay using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and 2) development of a BTV serotype specific diagnostic PCR assay. A PCR assay for diagnosis of bluetongue virus (BTV) serogroup from clinical samples meeting the criteria of objective 1 was developed. This PCR assay is more sensitive than virus isolation and has been adopted by both the U.S. and Israeli collaborating laboratories of this project, as well as at least one other U.S. laboratory for routine diagnosis of BTV infection in ruminan
