L'article retrace la constitution dans la culture médiatique américaine des formes prises par cette fascination morbide pour les histoires de serial killers , cocktails de sexe, de violence et de mort. Presse , true crime books , paralittérature, bande dessinée, cinéma, télévision ont été les véhicules complaisants (et intéressés) de cette invasion qui devait atteindre son point culminant au milieu des années quatre-vingt-dix avec une multiplication de sites sur Internet. Un reflux semble toutefois s'amorce ravec la récente émergence d'une nouvelle vedette, les profilers, ces nouveaux chasseurs de monstres.

Abstract The terror program, considered within the framework of Niklas Luhmann’s systems theory, serves to contradict society in many ways, functioning as a form of saturnalia to expose paradox. Though terror and terrorism have roots in antiquity, modern differentiated systems of communication and society’s oppositional/terrorist organizations have evolved into distinct forms, and terrorist events can trigger information processing in a variety of society’s subsystems, including but not limited to the political system. Charles Manson and his Family, considered alongside the groups Aum Shinrikyo and ISIS, serve to illustrate the ongoing terror program as manifest in modern society. Despite the best efforts of security analysts and related system observations, the evolution of these violent communications is highly unpredictable. Though terrorism that achieves quasi-state (‘successful insurgency’) or full state authority (a ‘terror regime’) may reduce complexity or distinctions among modern political, legal or other subsystems, the same destabilizing operations conducted by terrorist organizations that fail to achieve the authority of states may nonetheless influence the increasing complexity of modern society.

Tuvieron la sabiduría de trasmitir su saber y experiencia a muchos de sus discípulos, algunos que incluso continuaron y desarrollaron su obra. Enfatizamos la importancia del padre de la medicina, Hipócrates; el padre de la epidemiologia, a John Snow y su aporte al conocimiento y control del cólera mediante la observación científica; al Dr. Ignor Semelweiss, y su descubrimiento de que la sepsis puerperal era causado por la contaminación de las manos del personal de salud; a los dos padres de la bacteriología moderna: Louis Pasteur y Roberto Koch, y sus numerosos discípulos como el Dr. Eberth, descubridor del agente de la fiebre tifoidea, Loeffler (difteria), Pfeiffer (influenza) y Kitasato (tétanos), en el caso de Koch, y el Dr. Demule Roux, para Pasteur. También hablamos de Sigmund Freud y sus discípulos quienes aportaron y disidieron de sus ideas; del aporte de los doctores Charles Laveran, Patrick Manson y Ronald Ross en el conocimiento de la malaria. Abstract:
The fact that the Schistosoma mansoni egg has two ATP diphosphohydrolase (EC 3.6.1.5) isoforms with different net charges and an identical molecular weight of 63000, identified by non-denaturing polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and immunological cross-reactivity with potato apyrase antibodies, is shown. In soluble egg antigen (SEA), only the isoform with the lower net negative charge was detected and seemed to be the predominant species in this preparation. By confocal fluorescence microscopy, using anti-potato apyrase antibodies, the S. mansoni egg ATP diphosphohydrolase was detected on the external surface of miracidium and in von Lichtenberg's envelope. Intense fluorescence was also seen in the outer side of the egg-shell, entrapped by the surface microspines, suggesting that a soluble isoform is secreted. ATP diphosphohydrolase antigenicity was tested using the vegetable protein as antigen. The purified potato apyrase was recognized in Western blots by antibodies present in sera from experimentally S. mansoni-infected mice. In addition, high levels of IgG anti-ATP diphosphohydrolase antibodies were detected by ELISA in the same sera. This work represents the first demonstration of antigenic properties of S. mansoni ATP diphosphohydrolase and immunological cross-reactivity between potato apyrase and sera from infected individuals.

Abstract:
In May 1992, Pedro Collor de Mello accused his brother and then-president of Brazil, Fernando Collor de Mello, of involvement in an extensive corruption scheme operated and directed by his former campaign manager, Paulo César Farias. Pressured by opposition forces, the Brazilian Congress set up a commission of inquiry to investigate the widely publicized charges. Despite a combination of both passive resistance and active harassment on the part of government, the commission began a searching probe into Farias' diverse and shady dealings. Following leads uncovered by investigative journalists, the commission found conclusive evidence that Farias had, indeed, paid for many of the president's personal expenses, up to and including a $2.5 million landscaping job for the Collor mansion grounds. Much of this money came from the private enterprise sector in return for favors, like government contracts, which Farias was able to obtain by using his influence with the Collor administration.

Abstract:
Des films composites et nanocomposites ont été élaborés par la méthode du casting à partir d’amidon natif de manioc. Ils ont été plastifiés par le glycérol et renforcés par des chargesminérales synthétiques de zéolithe Beta et de beidellite sodique. L’influence du type de charge, de l’état de la charge (lyophilisé ou non-lyophilisé ou séchage à l’air) ainsi que du taux de charge sur les propriétés mécaniques et barrières à la vapeur d’eau des films correspondants a été étudiée. Les valeurs de la solubilité dans l’eau et de la perméabilité à la vapeur d’eau des échantillons renforcés par des nanocristaux de zéolithe Beta lyophilisés sont plus grandes que celles du film de contrôle. Une augmentation significative des propriétés mécaniques, en particulier le module d’Young de ces films a aussi été observée. Une amélioration de la perméabilité à la vapeur d’eau des films composites contenant des cristaux de beidellite sodique et des films nanocomposites contenant des nanocristaux de zéolithe Beta a été trouvée. Tous les films ont été caractérisés par diffraction de rayons X
Composite and nanocomposite films were prepared by casting method, using native cassava starch. The films were plasticized with glycerol and reinforced with synthetic Beta zeolite nanocrystals and Na-beidellite crystals. We studied the effect of the filler contents and type on the mechanical and water barrier properties of the resulting films. We found that filmsreinforced with lyophilized Beta zeolite nanocrystals present both high water solubility (WS) and high water vapor permeability (WVP) values compared to those of the pristine film. A drastic increase of the mechanical properties, especially in the Young’s modulus, of these films was also observed. An improvement of the WVP was found for composites prepared from Na-beidellite crystals and for nanocomposites from non-lyophilized Beta zeolite nanocrystals. All the films were characterized by X-ray diffraction

Quel est l’objet réel d’une transposition ? On le recherchera en explorant les différents niveaux du récit transposé et non pas seulement son « histoire ». En passant des structures narratives à l’organisation de la fiction jusqu’au niveau du discours, on peut voir que chaque palier narratif fait l’objet d’une transposition qui reconstruit pour l’opéra un conflit pathétique. La dramaturgie lyrique fait d’abord subir à l’histoire une triple opération de simplification, de stéréotypie et d’invraisemblance, qui repose cependant sur la logique stable d’un schéma narratif à partir duquel une relation de défi rhétorique s’instaure entre le discours du récit et celui de l’opéra. Sur ce dernier niveau, trois scènes de la passion sont analysées, au seul plan textuel, pour prouver que l’abolition du discours narratif n’entrave pas la transposition des émotions qu’il suscite – ce que montrent des correspondances entre les formes narratives (description, dialogue) et les formes lyriques (l’air, le duo). Pour l’opéra, le récit est donc un modèle pathétique complet et performant
What is the underlying objective when an artist creates an adaptation? To approach this, one has to explore the different levels of the transposed narrative, not merely the "story" or "storyline". Successive examinations of the narrative structures, the ayering of the fiction, and the finished discourse reveal that each level of narration involves transposing a pathetic conflict into the operatic form. The act of musical (lyrical) dramatization imposes upon the narrative a transformation in three ways: simplification, stereotyping and a final process which deconstructs verisimilitude. These processes are founded on a highly consistent narrative structure, which sets in motion a rhetorical tension between the narrative discourse and that of the opera itself. The present work takes this function as its starting point in order to conduct a purely textual analysis of three scenes of passion – the objective being to demonstrate that subsuming or even, abolishing, the narrative discourse, does not dilute or corrupt the emotions originally conveyed – this process is shown by structural correspondances between the narrative (description and dialog) and lyrical forms (aria and duet). Thus, when transposed into the operatic form, the narrative remains a complete and convincing model of pathos

Abstract:
This essay presents a comparative study of the Swedish articles of war of year 1621 and 1683 which aims to, through analysis, assess the extent of the development in Swedish army legislature during the 17th century and to derive the likely underlying causes for this development. The study is in large comprised by a detailed comparison of the two collections of articles of war in order to determine the practical changes to the legislature that occurred between the years that they came into force.
Denna uppsats presenterar en komparativ studie av de svenska krigsartiklarna av år 1621 och 1683 och ämnar att genom analys avgöra vad som förändrades inom svensk krigslagstiftning under 1600-talet samt att härleda denna utveckling till de förhållanden som kan förmodas ha framkallat denna. Studien utgörs till stor del av en detaljjämförelse av de två uppsättningarna krigsartiklar för att avgöra de praktiska förändringar i lagstiftningen som tagit plats emellan de år de trädde i kraft.

This chapter frames the history of punk rock within the broader historical context of Peoria, Illinois, a conservative, mid-sized city in the American Midwest. This chapter relates how CBS Cinema Center Films agreed to make Two-Lane Blacktop and Monte Hellman chose cinematographer Gregory Sandor to shoot the film using wide-screen Techniscope. Over the objections of casting director Fred Roos, who brought in dozens of young, trained actors, Hellman chose rock stars for the two lead roles.: James Taylor, then a heroin addict who nevertheless was not using during the shoot, would play the Driver and Dennis Wilson, the Beach Boys’ drummer, a juvenile, drug-taking, erratic young man who had befriended the cult murderer Charles Manson, would play the Mechanic. Hellman’s girlfriend Laurie Bird would play the Girl, and Warren Oates would portray GTO. Hellman and associate producer Gary Kurtztravelled across the country scouting locations that they would use with minimal set dressing, since they had only a $1 million budget and no production designer. Then CBS dropped the film.

Prenda da Mangueira is an Alternate Reality Game (ARG) in the process of production in which uses the Mangueira Desejo project as a base to bring back a well known children’s game called Boca de Forno, that consists of one of the children being the leader which will be called mãe (mom), that will be in charge of giving errands to run by the other children as fast as they can right after singing a song together led by mãe. ARGs are transmedia analogic games that gather a community together to interact and play, solving puzzles, mysteries, quests and so on. They all have a strong narrative that extends our current reality and evolves as the players’ progress. The game is normally managed by their designers. The ARG’s definition is quite open, but some authors agree on the use of the term transmedia “the aggregate effect of multiple texts/media artifacts” as the defining attribute of ARGs. Even being a game, designers and players tend to bring a sentiment of that not being a real game but the reality itself. As adulthood comes we start to leave behind those games we used to play as children. Each generation has their own games and to those people who lived during the times with little or no internet, the trees still had some meaning and an importance, they were either a physical point of reference and a stage for children to gather and play around its shelter. Many of our already known children's games were born, taught and learned in scenarios like that, together with a handful of nostalgic memories that are getting harder and harder to bring back due to the decreasing social contact brought by many factors of our current way of life. As Mango Tree (Mangueira Desejo) project already brings us the observation of our current reality through an alternate digital one, bringing back and setting new meanings to the city’s mango trees, done over the idea of Yoko Ono’s project Wish Tree which encourages us to express ourselves through the written wishes hung up on any living tree. The project’s intent is to add a new expression to Mangueira Desejo project which is a new narrative that comprises the mãe (mom) played by the designers through the tree entity that brings errands for the players to run. As the base project uses trees, this project will stick to it and place physical markers on city’s trees in order to let anyone with an AR ready mobile device with the app installed to play the game.

Abstract:
Este working paper propone analizar el trabajo coactivo y la servidumbre en los Andes coloniales a partir de la reconstrucción de la convivencia en las haciendas con mano de obra de diferente origen. En particular se centra en los reclamos de personas que siendo legalmente libres se consideraban esclavizadas y/o eran consideradas así por testigos de su situación. El texto se inscribe en una sociedad que por definición era desigual, la de Charcas, y estaba obsesionada por la clasificación de las personas, ya que así se definían las condiciones sociales a las que se les reconocían privilegios, derechos y obligaciones. Las categorizaciones y sus definiciones son, por ello, uno de los ejes del trabajo, en especial la del yanaconazgo. Aunque la experiencia cotidiana de los yanaconas fue muy semejante a la de los esclavizados, el trabajo busca distinguirlos y recuperar el uso específico que hicieron los querellantes de los diferentes términos.
