Abstract:
In this paper, we introduce the basic concepts needed for a pragmatic analysis of a specific kind of magic poetry, viz. Romanian love charms. We first distinguish between five types of charms: charms for love and beauty; charms for knowing one’s fated spouse; charms for bringing one’s fated spouse; charms for hate; charms for undoing hate. Our study concentrates on charm scenarios, i.e. on the instructions transmitted by charm-performers. Each charm scenario combines two sets of textual data: charm formulas (verses or poems) and charm techniques. The technique texts contain prose directions concerning the nonverbal component of the charm. After analyzing an example of each type of charms, we suggest that some rhetorical topoi of love charms (generally, metaphors) should be understood as modal indications that “guide” the magic process by illustrating its ideal result.

Abstract:
This research aims to describe the perspective of tourists on the charm of the Selecta Recreational Park tourist attraction, using a qualitative approach. Data with unstructured interviews from 17 informants who have visited the tourist attraction, and analyzed qualitatively. The results obtained indicate that the charm of tourism according to the perspective of tourists is dominated by the charm of nature which is complemented by the charm of man-made attractions, in other words, it refers more to the assessment of service quality that leads to physical evidence that has been provided by tourism services. Recommendations are submitted for tourism managers to maintain the charm of nature and can increase other charms through artificial charms or physical evidence of services that are different from other tourist attractions

Abstract:
Abstract: A charm is a subgenre of old poetry that is still considered to have strength. Because the power possessed by a charm makes people consider it sacred. However, apart from that, the mantra is only a part of literary work which contains meaning and of course there is no magical element. This study discusses the meaning in massage charm in Pondok Petir area. The author uses Roland Barthes's semiology theory to analyze the meaning of the charm. This study also uses descriptive qualitative methods to analyze the meaning and form of charms. The results prove that the massage charm does not have magical power. The charm is only an old literary work in which it contains the meaning of certain commands depending on the material function. Because charms are old poems, so charms also pay attention to the beauty of the shape and the sound.

Abstract:
The research focuses on the problem of semiotic status of objects in the Anglo-Saxon and Russian charms. The text of charms is the object of the research. The aim of the research is to define the semiotic status of objects in the Anglo-Saxon and Russian charms and to reveal the functioning of the objects in the text of a charm. The work deals with charms as examples of a sacral text. The research is promising due to the fact that studying a sacral text in this context is based on the anthropocentric approach. The tasks of the research include the following: to denote the status of a charm as a sacral text, to describe the semiotic status of objects in a charm, to reveal the role of a ritual in the objects’ acquiring the features of signs, to define the functions of semiotic objects in the charms. The scientific novelty of the research is in its comparative analysis of Russian and Anglo-Saxon charms in terms of linguistic semiotics. The author points out and describes several functions of semiosis as a system of objects that have a semiotic status. The major conclusion made as a result of the research is that the symbolic functions of material cultural objects in a sacral text enable the objects to acquire various features when they are included in the ritual component of a charm.

Abstract:
Neutrino-nucleon scattering is an effective way to investigate the inner structure of the nucleon, to extract the Standard Model parameters and to explore heavy quarks production dynamics. In the last decades, several experiments have been constructed to study weak interactions of neutrinos with nucleons. One of them was CERN-WA95 experiment operated by the CHORUS collaboration. It is based on a hybrid detector with nuclear emulsion as a target followed by electronic devices. Nuclear emulsion provides three dimensional spatial information with an outstanding resolution of the order of one micron. Therefore, it is ideal to detect short-lived particles. A special technique has been developed to reconstruct events in the emulsion which allows to perform a detailed investigation of events such as charmed hadrons production by neutrinos. As a result, the backround in the selected charm sample is up to six times lower compared to similar experiments. Such a method also permits to make direct measurements of some quantities instead of model fittings. This thesis is devoted to the study of the muonic decays of charmed hadrons and their production in emulsion. Manual inspection of charm events gives a complete reconstruction of charm decay topology. The extraction of the inclusive muonic branching ratio is based on the ratios per number of charged daughters in charm decay. Such an approach allows to separetely measure the muonic branching ratios for neutral and charged charm particles. Finally, normalization of the events with a muon in the final state to the charged current events gives dimuon production rate which is found compatible with the previous experiments. On top of that, preliminary results are shown for Bjorken x distribution and for a direct measurement of the Vcd Cabbibo-Kabayashi-Maskawa matrix element.

Abstract:
Charm Jets in photoproduction have been studied in electron-proton collisions with the ZEUS detector at HERA, using an integrated luminosity of 120 pb-1. Jets were reconstructed using the longitudinally invariant kT-clustering algorithm. The dijet cross section for events containing at least one D*+/- charmed meson was measured as a function of various observables sensitive to hard scattering and the structure of the photon. The results are compared with predictions from leading-order parton-shower Monte Carlo simulations and with next-to-leading-order QCD calculations.<br>Differential cross sections of dijets as a function of the angle between the charm jet and the proton-beam directions in the dijet rest frame have been measured for samples enriched in direct or resolved photon events. The angular distribution shows a steep rise for resolved photon events in the photon direction, providing a clear first evidence for the existence of charm originating from the photon. The shallower rise for direct photon events as well as for the resolved photon events in the proton direction are consistent with the quark exchange diagrams.<br>The charm fragmentation function has also been measured for the first time at HERA. The fragmentation variable z is given by the ratio of E + p∥ for the D* meson and that for the associated jet, where E is the energy and p∥ the longitudinal momentum relative to the jet axis. The measured cross section was compared to different fragmentation models incorporated in both leading- and next-to-leading-order frameworks and to the results from e+ e- experiments.
