In questa tesi vengono mostrati i risultati ottenuti dalla misura delle asimmetrie di CP integrate
nel tempo nei decadimenti B0->K+p- e B0s->p+K-e delle asimmetrie di CP dipendenti dal tempo nei decadimenti
B0->p+p- e B0s->K+K-. Queste misure sono state realizzate utilizzando
un campione di dati corrispondente ad una luminositá integrata di 3.0 fb-1 raccolto da collisioni
protone-protone (p-p) ad un’energia nel centro di massa pari a 7-8 TeV dall’esperimento LHCb nel Run1.
I valori finali dei parametri di CP e delle asimmetrie sono:
Cpp = -0.34 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.01,
Spp = -0.63 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.01,
CKK = 0.20 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02,
SKK = 0.18 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02,
ADGKK = -0.79 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.10,
ACP(B0->K+p-) = -0.084 +/- 0.004 +/- 0.003,
ACP(B0s->p+K-) = 0.213 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.007,
dove la prima incertezza è statistica e la seconda è sistematica.
I risultati ottenuti sono in buono accordo con le misure precedenti. I valori di Cpp, Spp, ACP(B0->K+p-)
e ACP(B0s->p+K-) sono i piú precisi ottenuti da un singolo esperimento.
Inoltre, i risultati ottenuti per le osservabili CKK, SKK e ADGKK risultano essere ad oggi la piú forte
evidenza di violazione di CP dipendente dal tempo nel settore dei mesoni B0s.
Questi risultati sono stati pubblicati sulla rivista scientifica Physical Review D98. In questa tesi
sono anche presentati i risultati preliminari relativi all'aggiornamento di questa analisi, realizzato
utilizzando il campione di dati corrispondente ad una luminositá integrata di 2.0 fb-1 raccolto
dall’esperimento LHCb in collisioni pp ad un’energia nel centro di massa pari a 13 TeV nel Run2.
I valori dei parametri di CP e delle asimmetrie sono:
Cpp = -0.375 +/- 0.061,
Spp = -0.682 +/- 0.053,
CKK = 0.124 +/- 0.051,
SKK = 0.186 +/- 0.052,

Ad analisi conclusa, la precisione statistica per i parametri di CP misurati dalle asimmetrie dipendenti
dal tempo é attesa ridursi del 30%. Lo studio delle sorgenti sistematiche deve ancora essere finalizzato
e si prevede che l’incertezza complessiva sará inferiore rispetto a quella dell’analisi nel Run1.<br>This thesis presents the results obtained from the measurement of both the time-integrated (TI) CP
asymmetries of the B0->K+p- and B0s->p+K- decays and the time-dependent (TD) CP asymmetries of the
B0->p+p- and B0s->K+K- decays. Such measurements have been performed using a data sample corresponding
to an integrated luminosity of 3.0 fb-1 collected in proton-proton (pp) collisions at the centre-of-mass
energy of 7-8 TeV at the LHCb experiment in Run1. The final values of the CP parameters and asymmetries are:
Cpp = -0.34 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.01,
Spp = -0.63 +/- 0.05 +/- 0.01,
CKK = 0.20 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02,
SKK = 0.18 +/- 0.06 +/- 0.02,
ADGKK = -0.79 +/- 0.07 +/- 0.10,
ACP(B0->K+p-) = -0.084 +/- 0.004 +/- 0.003,
ACP(B0s->p+K-) = 0.213 +/- 0.015 +/- 0.007,
where the first error is statistical and the second is systematic.
The results are in good agreement with the previous measurements. The values of Cpp, Spp, ACP(B0->K+p-)
and ACP(B0s->p+K-) are the most precise achieved by a single experiment and the results obtained for CKK,
SKK and ADGKK represent the strongest evidence for the TD CP violation in the B0s meson sector
to date. These measurements are published in Physical Review D98.
In addition, the preliminary results of the analysis update performed using the data corresponding to an
integrated luminosity of 2.0 fb-1 collected at the LHCb experiment in pp collisions
at the centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV in Run2 are presented. The values obtained for the CP
parameters and asymmetries are:
Cpp = -0.375 +/- 0.061,
Spp = -0.682 +/- 0.053,
CKK = 0.124 +/- 0.051,
SKK = 0.186 +/- 0.052,
ADGKK = 0.786 +/- 0.065,

The statistical precision on the CP parameters measured from the TD CP asymmetries is expected to be
reduced by a relative 30%, when the analysis will be completed. The study of the systematic sources of
uncertainties has to be finalized and the total uncertainty is expected to be slightly lower than in the
Run1 analysis.

Nous décrivons la mesure des taux d’interactions à courant chargé dans le fer des νμ, ν̅μ et (ν̅e) d’énergie supérieure à 20 Gev dans le détecteur de la collaboration CHDS au CERN. Ces neutrinos ont été produits lors du déversement de protons de 400 Gev/c sur des cibles de cuivre de densités différentes (« beam dump 1982 »). En extrapolant les mesures à une cible de densité infinie, nous déterminons les taux d’interactions des neutrinos directs (i. E. Produits soit directement, soit lors de la désintégration de particules à très courte durée de vie). Ils sont tous significativement différents de zéro. Le rapport du taux d’interactions des (νe + ν̅e) à celui des (νμ + ν̅μ) est 0,88 +̠ 0,13 (stat. ) +̠ 0,05 (syst. ), compatible avec l’universalité électron-muon. Ces résultats sont en désaccord avec ceux obtenues en même temps par la collaboration CHARM au CERN. Interprétant les neutrinos directs comme produits de la désintégration de particules charmées (D, D̅, ΛC), nous donnons des paramétrisations pour leurs sections efficaces différentielles de production. Nous évaluons à 35 +̠ 10 μb/nucléon la section efficace totalement de production cc̅. Enfin, l’observation des évènements dimuon permet de calculer des limites pour le produit des sections efficaces de production et d’interaction de nouvelles particules<br>We describe the measurement of the νμ, ν̅μ and (ν̅e) charged current interaction rates on iron in the CDHS detector at CERN for incident energies above 20 Gev. The neutrinos were produced by dumping a 400 Gev/c proton beam into copper targets of different density (“beam dump 1982”). Using an extrapolation to a target of infinite density, we determine these rates for direct neutrinos (neutrinos produced either directly of from short lived particle decays). The results are all significantly different from zero. The ratio of (νe + ν̅e) interaction rates is 0,88 +̠ 0,13 (stat. ) +̠ 0,05 (syst. ), in agreement with the electron-muon universality. However, these results are at variance with similar measurements at CERN by the CHARM collaboration. Interpreting the direct neutrinos as the product of charmed particle decays (D, D̅, ΛC), we determine some parametrizations fort their differential production cross sections. We find the total cross section for cc̅ production to be 35 +̠ 10 μb/nucleon. Finally, the observation of dimuon events yields limits for the product of the production X interaction cross sections for new particles

A l’échelle mésoscopique (~cm-µm), la diffusion des solutés ioniques dans l’argilite du Callovo-Oxfordien de Bure (Meuse/Haute Marne, France) dépend de l’organisation spatiale de la porosité et des minéraux (principalement argiles, carbonates et quartz). L'obtention de cartes minérales 2-D (microscopie électronique) ou 3-D (microtomographie de rayons X) est rendu possible par le développement de techniques de segmentation spécifiques. Les cartes de porosité obtenues par la méthode 3H-PMMA sont clairement corrélées à la minéralogie. Elles démontrent que les porosités locales (~µm) et globales (~cm) dépendent principalement de la teneur en minéraux argileux, les quartz et les carbonates pouvant être considérés comme non poreux. La diffusion des solutés a été modélisée à partir de la distribution spatiale 3-D réelle des minéraux et de la porosité. Cette approche a permis de quantifier le rôle des minéraux non poreux sur la géométrie des chemins de diffusion dans l’argilite. Le facteur de géométrie des chemins de diffusion a été corrélé à la teneur et la morphologie des minéraux non poreux. Les résultats obtenus ont mis en évidence une anisotropie de diffusion due à l’orientation préférentielle des grains de quartz et de carbonates dans le plan de sédimentation. A partir de méthodes de cartographies élémentaires, la distribution spatiale de l’ion Cu2+ et des minéraux a été acquise à l’échelle mésoscopique après une expérience de diffusion. Les résultats expérimentaux confirment les liens existant entre diffusion et minéralogie<br>In Bure Callovo-Oxfordian argillite (Meuse/Haute Marne, France), the spatial organisation of porosity and minerals (mainly quartz, carbonates, and clays) controls the solute diffusion at mescoscopic scale (~cm-µm). New developments in the field of image analysis were devoted to extract mineral maps from 2-D (scanning electron microscopy) and 3-D (X-ray microtomography) imaging techniques. The porosity maps provided by the 3H-PMMA method demonstrate that porosity and mineral distributions are clearly correlated. The local (~µm) and global (~cm) porosity depend mainly on clay mineral content, carbonates and quartz being unporous. Solute diffusion was modelled from actual 3-D mineral and porosity spatial distribution. Using this numerical approach, diffusion pathways were quantified according to the mineral distribution. The geometry factor was correlated to the fraction and the morphology of unporous mineral. A diffusion anisotropy due to the preferential orientation of carbonates and quartz was also underlined by this approach. In an experimental way, Cu2+ diffusion and mineral was visualised and quantify at mescoscopic scale from elemental mapping methods. These techniques provide various relationships between Copper distribution and mineralogy

Les désintégrations charmées rares interviennent principalement via des courants neutres changeant la saveur (FCNC). Le Modèle Standard (SM) n'autorise les courants qu'au niveau des boucles. Dans les désintégrations du charme, les FCNC sont sujets à une très efficace suppression de GIM. Des processus très rares sont donc à considérer. Ils sont d'excellents outils pour la recherche Nouvelle Physique (NP) au-delà du SM. Les particules de NP pourraient devenir détectables en écartant des observables telles que des rapports de branchement et des asymétries CP et angulaires prévisions de le SM. Le sujet principal de cette thèse est la mesure du rapport de branchement D0->K-π+ρ/ω(->µ+µ-). Il sera précieux en particulier en tant que mode de normalisation lors de l'étude de toutes les désintégrations D0 -> h-h’+ µ+µ- : D0 -> K-π+µ+µ-, D0 -> π+π-µ+µ-, D0 -> K+K-µ+µ- et D0 -> K+π-µ+µ-. En utilisant 2/fb de données collectées par LHCb en 2012, nous mesurons: B(D0 -> K-π+ ρ/ω (->µ+µ-)) = (4.37± 0.12(stat.) ±0.53(syst.)) ×10^-6. C'est la toute première mesure de ce mode. Nous avons également étudié la sensibilité qu'attendra LHCb dans les modes D0 -> h-h’+ µ+µ- pour la mesure de rapport des branchements totaux et partiels, et pour celle d'asymétries, avec les échantillons de données qui seront collectés d'ici 10 ans. Par ailleurs, nous avons déterminé les incertitudes systématiques touchant les recherches de désintégrations à trois corps, D+(s) -> π+µ+µ- et D+(s) -> π-µ+µ+, effectués par LHCb dans les données recueillies en 2011 (1/fb). Enfin, les tests effectués sue les prototypes des cartes d'électronique embarquée qui assureront la lecture des calorimètres de l'expérience le LHCb mise à jour sont présenté dans cette thèse<br>Rare charm decays proceed mostly through the c -> u Flavor Changing Neutral Current (FCNC), which is possible only at loop level in the Standard Model (SM). In charmed decays, FCNCs are subject to a very efficient GIM suppression, leading to very rare processes. Consequently, rare charm decays are good tools to probe to New Physics (NP) beyond the SM. NP particles could become detectable by causing observables such as branching ratios and CP or angular asymmetries to deviate from the SM predictions. The main subject of this thesis is the measurement of the branching ratio of the D0 -> K-π+ ρ/ω (->µ+µ-) mode. It will be precious in the future, in particular as a normalization mode in the study of all: D0 -> h-h’+ µ+µ- decays D0 -> K-π+µ+µ-, D0 -> π+π-µ+µ-, D0 -> K+K-µ+µ- and D0 -> K+π-µ+µ-. Using 2/fb of 2012 LHCb data we find: B(D0 -> K-π+ ρ/ω (->µ+µ-)) = (4.37± 0.12(stat.) ±0.53(syst.)) ×10^-6. This is the first measurement of this mode. We also determined sensitivities to total and partial branching fractions and asymmetries in D0 -> h-h’+ µ+µ- decays with future LHCb datasets. In addition, the systematic uncertainties affecting the searches for the 3-body decays, D+(s) -> π+µ+µ- and D+(s) -> π-µ+µ+, carried out by LHCb based on the data collected in 2011 (1/fb). Finally, the results of the tests of front-end electronic board for the Upgrade of LHCb are presented

La physique des oscillations de neutrinos occupe une place majeure dans les études s’intéressant à cetteparticule. Le mécanisme des oscillations, basé sur un changement d’état de saveur d’un neutrino durant sapropagation, permet d’élucider les déficits observés de neutrinos solaires et atmosphériques et apporte des indicationsintéressantes de physique au delà du Modèle Standard par l'étude des angles de mélanges et du schéma de masse desneutrinos.OPERA est un détecteur hybride combinant à la fois latechnique d'une détection électronique en temps réel et la technique de la chambre à brouillard à émulsion ou ECC(EmulsionCloud Chamber). Le détecteur ECC est un détecteur massif (cible) composé de 150000 briques dontchacune est constituée de feuilles de plombs, utilisées comme cible, alternées avec des émulsions nucléaires dont laprécision de reconstruction des traces est de l'ordre du micron. Introduzimos um método não-relativístico para estudar a espectroscopia de estados ligados hadrônicos compostos por quatro quarks charme, na figura de diquark-antidiquark. Resolvendo numericamente a equação de Schrödinger com dois potenciais diferentes inspirados no potencial de Cornell, de uma maneira semelhante aos modelos de quarkonium pesado para mésons, nós fatoramos o problema de 4 corpos em três sistemas de 2 corpos: primeiro o diquark e o antidiquark, que são compostos por dois quarks (antiquarks) em um estado de antitripleto de cor. No próximo passo eles são considerados como os blocos para construir o tetraquark, onde a sua interação leva a um singleto de cor. Termos dependentes de spin (spin-spin, spin-órbita e tensor) são usados para descrever o desdobramento do espectro e a separação entre estados com diferentes números quânticos. Atenção especial é dada à interação do tensor entre duas partículas de spin 1, com uma discussão detalhada da estratégia adotada. A interação spin-spin é tratada perturbativamente no primeiro modelo e incluída no potencial de ordem zero no segundo. A contribuição de cada termo de interação também é analisada e comparada. Dados experimentais recentes de estados bem estabelecidos de mésons de charmonium são utilizados para fixar os parâmetros de ambos os modelos (em um procedimento de ajuste minimizando chi quadrado), obtendo uma reprodução satisfatória do espectro do charmonium. As diferenças entre modelos são discutidas no contexto do charmonium, diquarks e tetraquarks. Nós concluímos que quase todas as ondas S e P (e as respectivas primeiras excitações radiais) do todo-charme tetraquark composto por diquarks de spin 1 estão entre 5.8 e 7 GeV, acima do limite de dissociação espontânea em pares de charmonium de baixa energia como dois eta_c ou J/psi, o que sugere que esses poderiam ser os canais ideais para procurar por esses estados, e desenvolver o atual conhecimento de estados multiquarks.<br>We introduce a non-relativistic framework to study the spectroscopy of hadronic bound states composed of four charm quarks in the diquark-antidiquark picture. By numerically solving the Schrödinger equation with two different Cornell-inspired potentials in a similar way of heavy quarkonium models of mesons, we factorize the 4-body problem into three 2-body systems: first the diquark and the antidiquark, which are composed of 2 quarks (antiquarks) into a color antitriplet state. In the next step they are considered as the tetraquark building blocks, where their interaction leads to a color singlet. Spin-dependent terms (spin-spin, spin-orbit and tensor) are used to describe the splitting structure of the spectrum and account for different quantum numbers of each state. Special attention is given to the tensor interaction between two particles of spin 1, with a detailed discussion of the adopted strategy. The spin-spin interaction is addressed perturbatively in the first model and included in the zeroth-order potential in the second one. The contribution of each interaction term is also analysed and compared. Recent experimental data of reasonably well-established charmonium mesons are used to fix the parameters of both models (with a fitting procedure minimizing chi square), obtaining a satisfactory reproduction of charmonium spectrum. The differences between models are discussed in the charmonium, diquark and tetraquark context. We conclude that almost all the S and P waves (and respective first radial excitations), of the all-charm tetraquark composed by spin 1 diquarks are in the range between 5.8 to 7 GeV, above the threshold of spontaneous decay in low-lying charmonium pairs, like two eta_c or J/psi, what suggests that this could be the ideal channels to look for these states, and develop the current understanding of multiquark states.

Le but de cette thèse était d'étudier, à différents taux de charge, l'influence d'une série de noirs de carbone commerciaux, d'une silice précipitée, ainsi que de la même silice modifiée au hexadécyltriéthoxysilane, sur le comportement hystérétique de mélanges standards à base de caoutchouc de butadiène - styrène et de caoutchouc naturel. Les paramètres E prime et tangente delta ont servi de critères d'évaluation. L'examen du module dynamique E prime révèle que l'équation de Guth-Gold modifiée ne peut plus être appliquée au-delà d'un certain taux de charge, ce qui est dû à la formation d'un réseau charge. Ce dernier est quantifié par Sf, paramètre qui peut être déterminé par chromatographie et qui représente le rapport entre les composantes dispersive et spécifique de l'énergie de surface d'une charge. L'étude des valeurs de tangente delta des noirs de carbone a permis de montrer que celles-ci dépendent tout d'abord de la formation d'un réseau charge. Puisque les valeurs de Sf de tous les noirs de carbone étudiés se situent au même niveau, c'est la distance entre les agrégats de noir de carbone qui détermine la tangente delta. Une comparaison de noirs de carbone et de silices, à densité de réticulation égale des mélanges caoutchoucs, montre que les silices confèrent des valeurs plus élevées de E prime et de tangente delta plus faibles par rapport aux noirs de carbone. Ce comportement différent relève des caractéristiques de surface différentes de ces deux types de charges

L'expérience BABAR, située à SLAC (Stanford, Californie), étudie depuis 1999 les désintégrations des mésons B produits dans des collisions électron positron à une énergie dans le centre de masse égale à la masse de la résonance γ( 4S). L'identification des particules chargées dans cette expérience utilise pour partie la me- sure de la perte d'énergie par unité de longueur dans la chambre à dérive. Afin d'améliorer la calibration de cette quantité, une sélection d'électrons/positrons à partir d'événements Bhabha radiatifs a été développée, elle a permis de réduire l'asymétrie de charge dans la reconstruction des particules chargées. Dans les désintégrations des mésons B, la production inclusive des particules charmées (D°, ̄D°, D±, D±/8, A±/c) est mesurée au moyen d'une nouvelle méthode, possible grâce à la grande statistique accumulée par l'expérience BABAR. Les mésons B sont produits par paires à partir de la résonance γ(4S). Les événements sont sélectionnés en reconstruisant complètement un B dans un mode hadronique. Les particules charmées provenant du second B sont alors reconstruites avec les traces restantes. Ceci permet de mesurer les nombres totaux de charmes produits lors des désintégrations des B+ et des B° en séparant la production de charmes corrélés (transitions entre quarks: b → cX) de la production anti-corrélée (transitions entre quarks: b→ ̄cX). Les résultats, obtenus avec une luminosité, intégrée de 210 fb-1, sont les suivants : NB+c= 0. 970 ± 0. 042, NB+/c+= 0. 262 ± 0. 034, NB°c = 0. 950 ± 0. 057 NB°/c = 0. 285 ± 0. 048. Cette méthode permet également de mesurer, pour la première fois, les distributions en impulsion des particules charmées dans le référentiel du B qui les a émises, ce qui donne accès aux différents mécanismes de production de ces particules<br>The BABAR experiment, located at SLAC (Stanford, California), has been dedicated, since 1999, to the study of B meson decays produced in electron positron collisions with an energy in the center of mass frame equal to the mass of γ( 4S) resonance. Ln this experiment, the charged particles identification is provided, in particular by the measurement of the energy loss per unit length in the drift chamber. Ln order to improve the calibration of this quantity, a selection of electrons/positrons from radiative Bhabha events was performed ; with the new sample the charge asymmetry in the charged particles reconstruction was reduced. Ln B meson decays, the inclusive production of charmed particles (D°, ̄D°, D±, D±/8, /\±/c) is measured with a new analysis method, made possible by the large statistics accumulated by the BABAR experiment. B and ̄B mesons are produced simultaneously from the γ( 4S) resonance. The events are selected by reconstructing completely one B in a hadronic channel. Charmed particles from the other B are then reconstructed with the remaining tracks. This enables the measurement of the total number of charm produced in B+ and in BO decays separating the correlated charm production (quark transitions: b → cX) from the anti-correlated production (quark transitions: b → cX). The results obtained on an integrated luminosity of 210 fb-1 are the following : NB+c = 0. 970 ± 0. 042, NB+/c = 0. 262± 0. 034, N B°c= 0. 950 ±0. 057 NB°/c = 0. 285 ± 0. 048. This new method also allows the measurement of the momentum of the charmed particles in the Brest frame. Access to the different production mechanisms of these particles is thereby provided

This screenplay, dealing with the theme of anger, is divided into three acts: setup, confrontation and resolution, respectively. Beginning in medias res, flashbacks are employed for expositions of the two main characters, Connor Tracy, alias the Angry Charmer, and Howard Goldberg. Act I opens with Connor at the wheel of a van, driving wildly, Howard accompanying. The setup is established. Act IlI returns to the careening van and then flashbacks to the college meeting of Connor and Howard. By the end of the act, the two, now unwilling relatives, go off on a European trip together. The confrontation has begun in earnest. Act III resolves the problem of Connor's anger through the purgative experi ences of the vacation, in particular the climactic ending.

Nous avons étudié la désintégration du meson D* et calculés la valeur du couplage hadronique g_{D* D\pi}$$ et du couplage $$g_{D^\ast D\gamma}$$. Nous avons également étudiés la désintégration leptonic et semilleptonic du méson Ds. Assenta em princípios de conservação integrada e funciona como um instrumento que contribui para o desenvolvimento sustentável da sociedade. É objectivo desta dissertação analisar a viabilidade de reabilitação da Quinta da Graça (quinta de recreio) para Hotel de Charme. Fez-se a revisão da literatura com o propósito de responder a questões associadas à reabilitação, ao modo como se reabilitam quintas de recreio e foram abordadas as questões relativas ao estado da arte em hotelaria, à sua evolução e constituição actual, passando pela classificação dos hotéis em categorias dependentes de funcionalidades e áreas mínimas. Apresentaram-se dois casos de estudo onde ocorreram reabilitações de equipamentos com função diferente da de hotel. O primeiro refere-se à conversão do convento de Santa Marinha da Costa para pousada e o segundo refere-se ao retorno para hotel de um edifício de escritórios no Bairro Alto. Fez-se o estudo da Quinta da Graça, localizando-a geograficamente e acompanhando a narrativa de existência, desde a sua origem ao estado actual. Reportaram-se as anomalias através de levantamento fotográfico e verificou-se que as situações de agressão observadas na Quinta secundarizaram o Palácio, reduzindo-o a uma ruína. Ficou patente que existe uma oportunidade de recuperar este espaço votado ao abandono, acrescentando mais valor ao lugar e à região. Apresentou-se uma solução para reabilitação do edifício, através de um programa com elementos para uma proposta ao nível do projecto-base, que aborda questões de funcionalidade, acções de repristinação, reabilitação, segurança, sustentabilidade e manutenção. Foram recriadas antigas hortas, canteiros de flores e recuperadas ou plantadas novas árvores/arbustos na Quinta. As espécies foram identificadas permitindo aos visitantes aceder à sua designação popular, científica, origem e utilidade, cumprindo a Quinta também uma função didáctica. O presente estudo apontando novo uso e novas actividades responde positivamente ao objectivo de reabilitar a Quinta da Graça para Hotel de Charme, constituindo um novo pólo de desenvolvimento local e regional.<br>Rehabilitation encloses diverse concepts such as the past, tradition, modernity, genius loci and the future. It is based on integrated principles of conservation and serves as a means to contributing for a sustainable development of society. The aim of this dissertation is to analyze the feasibility of Quinta da Graça (a recreation farm) being the aim of an intervention to convert it into a Charm Hotel. A review of the literature was made in order to answer questions related to rehabilitation, the way to rehabilitate recreation farms and were addressed issues concerning the state of the art of hotel, its evolution and current constitution, through the classification of hotels in categories based on functionality and minimum areas. Two case studies were presented, where upgrades of equipment with different functions from the one of a hotel were made. The first one refers to the conversion of the Convento de Santa Marinha da Costa into a Lodging of Excellence and an office building turned into a hotel in Bairro Alto. The study of Quinta da Graça was made, locating it geographically and with the narrative of existence from its origins to the present state. The anomalies were reported through a photo record and observed situations of negligence, which reduced the Palace to a ruin. It became obvious that there was an opportunity to recover this space doomed to abandonment, in order to add more value to the place and the region. A solution to rehabilitate the building was presented through a program with elements of a proposal project-base, addressing issues of functionality, reinstating actions, rehabilitation, security, sustainability and maintenance. The ancient vegetable-gardens were recreated, through the insertion of stone-cutters, the recovery of early flowers and the gardening of brand new trees and/or bushes in Quinta da Graça. The species are identified for visitors to acknowledge their popular, scientific, ancestor and utility designation; in this way Quinta da Graça also fulfils a didactic purpose. The present study responds positively to the rehabilitation aim of the Quinta da Graça into a Charm Hotel, transforming it into a brand new focal point of local and regional development.

The shaped charges on the market today ranges from about 20 to 200 mm in diameter but there is a need of smaller sizes for example in applications where a small projectile with a high speed is needed or to equip or take out drones with. The objective of this thesis work was to develop a miniaturized shaped charge with dimensions smaller than those available today and preferably with a diameter down to 10 mm. The project was conducted at Karlstad University in collaboration with Saab Dynamics AB. The process used during this project was to start with a feasibility study to obtain information about the limits on dimensions in order to investigate how small dimensions can be used for the casing and liner with respect to manufacturability. The feasibility study was conducted by studying academic literature, contacting companies with expertise within the field of manufacturing. A previously used shaped charge was used as a starting point and the dimensions was scaled in accordance with the objective. The influence of the design parameters was examined using the γSPH module in IMPETUS Afea. The liner material used was restricted to oxygen-free high thermal conductivity copper and different materials for the casing was tested. Two material selections for the casing were made with the aid of Granta Edupack. It has been concluded that it is possible to manufacture a miniaturized shaped charge with dimensions down to about ten mm. Both a design for a jet forming shaped charge and an explosively formed penetrator was developed during the project. The resulting projectile for the explosively formed penetrator had a velocity of 2450 m/s, a total length of 7.3 mm and 3.5 mm in diameter, and the jet forming shaped charge had a jet tip velocity of 7060 m/s and was able to penetrate 38-mm into an AISI 4340 steel target according to the models used in IMPETUS Afea. A prototype was planned but due to cost restrictions, it is left as future work.<br>Riktad sprängverkan (RSV)-laddningarna som finns på marknaden idag sträcker sig från ungefär 20 till 200 mm i diameter. Det finns dock ett behov för storlekar mindre än detta, till exempel i tillämpningar där en liten projektil med hög fart krävs, alternativt att utrusta eller sänka drönare med. Målet med detta examensarbete var att utveckla en miniatyriserad RSV-laddning med dimensioner mindre än vad som finns tillgängligt idag och helst med en diameter neråt tio mm. Projektet utfördes på Karlstads universitet i samarbete med Saab Dynamics AB. Processen som användes under detta projekt gick ut på att börja med en förstudie for att erhålla information om gränserna för mått för att undersöka hur små dimensioner som kan användas för höljet och linern med avseende på tillverkningsbarhet. Förstudien genomfördes genom att studera akademisk litteratur och kontakta företag med expertis inom tillverkningsområdet. En tidigare använd RSV-laddning användes som startpunkt och dimensionerna justerades i enlighet med målet. Påverkan av parametrar på prestanda undersöktes genom att använda γSPH modulen i IMPETUS Afea. Det använda materialet för linern begränsades till OFHC koppar och olika material för höljet testades. Två materialval gjordes för höljet med hjälp av Granta Edupack. Slutsatsen som kan dras utifrån arbetet är att det är möjligt att tillverka miniatyriserade RSV-laddningar med dimensioner neråt tio mm. Både en design för en strålbildande RSV-laddning och en projektilbildande RSV-laddning utvecklades under projektet. Den resulterande projektilen för den projektilbilande RSV-laddningen hade en fart på 2450 m/s, en längd av totalt 7.3 mm och 3.5 mm i diameter och den strålbildande RSV-laddningen hade en spetsfart på 7060 km/s och kunde penetrera 38 mm AISI 4340 stål enligt modellen som användes i IMPETUS Afea. En prototyp planerades men på grund av kostnadsrestriktioner lämnades det som framtida arbete.

contribuir para o desenvolvimento de uma abordagem adequada para o tratamento da
charge em sistemas informativos documentais. Reconhece a charge como instrumento
para intervenção na realidade, para reprodução de discursos e para educação da
população. Assume como objetivo geral investigar a charge no escopo da organização
do conhecimento. Pressupõe as teorias do documento e da informação no âmbito
da análise documentária em diálogo com teorias mais recentes na ciência da
informação. Adota uma abordagem metodológica heterogênea, de acordo com os
objetivos estimados. Investiga as tipologias de desenhos de humor para identificar
semelhanças e diferenças da charge com outros gêneros. Discute o lugar da charge
entre os gêneros jornalísticos. Identifica nos dicionários gerais de língua o que é
denominado por charge, caricatura e cartum pelos falantes comuns. Representa as
definições de charge e congêneres em mapas conceituais. Problematiza a definição
de charge com teorias sobre desenhos de humor. Apresenta um panorama da
charge na ciência da informação. Aborda a charge como documento. Discute as
variáveis da análise documentária de texto, propostas por Lara, considerando os
seguintes elementos: o documento, a informação, a sistematização da área, a instituição,
o usuário e o documentalista. Compara e interpreta esses elementos na
análise documentária da charge. Como resultados, identifica aproximações semânticas
entre os empréstimos charge, caricatura e cartum e suas respectivas palavras
de origem estrangeira, ocorrendo, todavia, adaptações na língua portuguesa. Indica
adaptações de empréstimos porque apenas no português brasileiro coexistem
as unidades lexicais usadas para designar diferentes tipos de desenho de humor.Propõe as seguintes variáveis na análise documentária de charge: a) a estrutura
narrativa da charge; b) as informações brutas presentes na charge; c) terminologia
da área; d) instituições de custódia da charge; e) os usuários da charge e f) a
formação e o quadro de referência do documentalista para o tratamento da charge.
Essas variáveis evidenciam a circunscrição desse processo em condições sociais
específicas. Por consequência, a análise de assunto da charge não pode ser
assumida como neutra e imparcial, o que nos permite concluir sobre a inviabilidade
de uma proposta universal e atemporal para análise documentária de charge. Conclui
que cabe à ciência da informação investigar a charge como objeto informativo
e desenvolver sistemas de informação para potenciar seu uso como geradora de

scope. It contributes to the political cartoon insertion in a retrieval systems. Recognize
the charge as an instrument for intervention in reality, for reproduction of discourses
and educating the public. The objective is investigate the political cartoon in knowledge
organization scope. It contributes to the theoretical framework considers the
concepts of information and documents. The methodological approach is
heterogeneous, according to the specific objectives. It investigates the typologies
of humorous drawings to identify similarities and differences of political cartoon
with other genres. It discusses the place of the political cartoon between journalistic
genres. Identifies what is cartoon, caricature and cartoon in dictionaries language.
It represents political cartoon and congenerous definitions in conceptual maps. It
presents an overview of political cartoon in information science. It advocates the
political cartoon as a document. Discusses the variables in the subject analysis of
text, as proposed by Lara who considers the following elements: the document,
the information, the systematization of the knowledge area, the institution, the
user and the information professional. These elements are compared, interpreted and adapted in the subject analysis of political cartoon. As the results, it’s identifies
semantics approximation between cartoon and caricature with the words of the
foreign language. It indicates adaptations in Portuguese. Concludes that only in
Brazilian Portuguese coexist lexical units used to describe different types of humor
drawing. The following variables in the subject analysis of political cartoon are
proposed: a) the discursive structure of political cartoon; b) the referential
information in political cartoon; c) the domains around the political cartoon; d)
custodial institutions of political cartoon; e) users of the political cartoon and f)
information professionals profile and referral. These variables reflect the evidence
of the circumscription process in specific social conditions. Thus, the subject analysis
of the political cartoon cannot be neutral and impartial. This understanding led to
the conclusion on the unfeasibility of a universal and non-temporal proposal for
subject analysis of political cartoon.

Sensation fiction, which flourished in England from the 1850s to the 1880s, was viewed by Victorian establishment figures as a threat to prevailing social values. This dissertation focuses on the work of Charles Reade, who along with Wilkie Collins and Mary Elizabeth Braddon, was among the most well-known sensation novelists. While several novels by Collins and Braddon have been rediscovered by scholars since the 1980s, Reade's fiction remains neglected. With its explicit critique of the emerging regimes of power/knowledge in the fields of medicine, criminal justice, and sexual mores, Reade's work anticipates Michel Foucault's theories elaborated a century later. Although previous readings of Victorian fiction have drawn on the ideas of Foucault in an attempt to identify sensation novels as cultural productions complicit with a developing bourgeois hegemony, I argue that these novels represent a narrative genre that challenges and resists these disciplinary constraints. In addition, Reade's work provides a rare glimpse of alternative sexualities and gender identities in nineteenth-century fiction that can be read in light of feminist and gender theory. This dissertation recovers the fiction of Charles Reade as a body of work that anticipates recent trends in literary and cultural theory and that speaks to us today with an uncanny familiarity.

Crawford<br>Following the devastation UN peacekeeping experienced in the 1990s, the United Nations Panel on Peace Operations wrote a report, known as the Brahimi Report, that contained twenty key recommendations as how to make peacekeeping more effective and efficient. These recommendations addressed certain fundamental flaws in peacekeeping practices and procedures. This paper discusses the purpose behind several key recommendations and examines the political and internal debate surrounding their implementation. Les époques de crise délaissent volontiers l'art pur pour la propagande mais l'intérêt que suscite la littérature au service d'une cause est souvent éphémère, et le nom même de ce type d'écrivain est vite oublié. Kickham n'a pas sombré dans l'oubli et sa mémoire est toujours honorée dans son pays natal. Des circonstances exceptionnelles ont attiré l'attention sur l'oeuvre littéraire de cet homme dont l'histoire personnelle suit de près l'histoire de l'Irlande et celle des mouvements révolutionnaire de son époque. Sa production poétique ne se caractérise ni par la continuité dans le temps, ni par une quelconque maturation sur le plan esthétique. Le poète s'y révèle l'héritier d'une tradition populaire et nationale dans les thèmes comme dans la forme. Ses oeuvres en prose, au contraire, dont la production est quasi continue de 1857 à la mort de l'écrivain, évoluent selon un schéma qu'une lecture chronologique met parfaitement en évidence. Des premiers récits de "faits divers" authentiques, dont le mode narratif est proche de celui de la littérature orale, aux oeuvres majeures qui leur succèdent, l'écrivain s'oriente délibérément vers une forme de plus en plus littéraire où la recherche d'effets esthétiques prend une part croissante. Toute cette oeuvre est centrée sur une description de l'Irlande rurale à une période d'importantes mutations. Kickham évoque son pays sous ses divers aspects, géographique, ethnologique, sociologique et politique. Nationale par ses thèmes, c'est une oeuvre qui est aussi intensément nationaliste. Écrivain engagé, Kickham a subordonné son inspiration à une finalité politique et idéologique. Dans son oeuvre comme dans sa vie, il a incarné le sentiment national populaire irlandais<br>In times of crisis, writers readily swing away from pure art to propaganda. Yet the interest raised by propagandist literature is often short-lived and these writers soon fall into oblivion. Kickham, however, has not known such a fate and he still lives on in the irish memory mainly through a handful of ballads and his famous knocknagow. Unusual circumstances have drawn attention to the work of this writer whose personal history closely follows the history of ireland and of the revolutionary movements of his times. His poetical career falls largely into three well-separated productive periods. Yet there is no clear development or maturation in his poetry which follows the popular and national literary tradition, both in form and content. Unlike his verse work, kickham's prose, regularly published from 1857 to the writer's death, follows a recognisable pattern of development. From the first tales based on fact and told mostly in the manner of the oral story-teller, to the later major works, one can find clear signs of a shift towards a more sophisticated literary tradition together with a growing concern for aesthetic effectiveness. Kickham's principal subject-matter is ireland. His description of post-famine ireland covers a wide range of aspects - geographical, eth- nological as well as sociological and political - and is all the more valuable as it deals with a time of great changes in irish society. Not only national in its themes, kickham's work, written from a poli- tical and ideological standpoint, is also intensely nationalist. Quand une création est née dans le monde plein de déchirures sociales et culturelles, quand on a, soi-même, fait la coupure avec un pays, ne serait-on pas en quête d'une " nouvelle" identité, n'aurait-on pas besoin de recoudre des fils et des fragments une unité? La destruction-construction peut-elle, à travers la violence qu'elle engendre, et à partir des restes, fragments qu'elle produit, donner une existence nouvelle? La toile en charpie est-elle une forme de corps à corps avec le monde? Telles sont les questions et les hypothèses qui, à travers la réflexion sur la toile, tissent la trame de cette thèse en faisant naître de nouvelles notions: peinture-couture, châssis-cadre, " nouvelle" peau. C'est une mise en charpie, d'une part, de la notion de surface en tant qu'entité, d'autre part, de la nature des pratiques traditionnelles. Une telle mise en pièce se retrouve aussi chez M. Abakanowicz, M. Alocco, P. Bloch, etc. Mettre la toile en charpie est alors une envie de mettre en question, analyser, puiser dans la " profondeur" de la toile, du monde, de l'Autre à travers une fusion du corps avec les tissus. C'est une " histoire" de désir, de corps et de peau, de tissu et d'aiguille. . .

Les sections efficaces inclusives de pions chargés de grande impulsion transverse induits par un faisceau de photons de haute énergie ont été mesurées. Ces résultats ne traduisent, ni en pente ni en normalisation, la composante VDM du photon, évaluée à l’aide de données prises avec un faisceau de pions dans les mêmes conditions expérimentales ; après soustraction de la composante VDM, un excellent accord est trouvé avec des calculs de QCD effectués jusqu’au deuxième ordre en αs, dans un domaine cinématique très étendu ; le choix de différentes fonctions de fragmentation du gluon ne change pas cet accord. Nos mesures des asymétries de charge de l’état final inclusif confirment aussi les prédictions de QCD<br>Inclusive cross sections of high transverse moment charged pions induced by a high energy photon beam have been measured. These results do not account, neither in slope nor in normalization, for the VDM component of the photon, evaluated with pion induced data taken in the same experimental conditions; after VDM subtraction, excellent agreement is found with QCD calculations up to second order in αs, in an extended cinematic region; different choices of the gluon fragmentation function do not alter this conclusion. Our measures of the inclusive final state charge asymmetries also confirm QCD expectations
