Abstract:

In this paper, the model of Chattopadhyay and Bairagi1 has been modified by considering the horizontal incidence as standard incidence in lieu of mass action incidence. Our observations indicate that the modified system around the positive equilibrium is stable for a wider range of force of infection. Numerical experiments are performed to observe the effect of disease transmission on different types of functional responses. We finally conclude that the mechanistic nature of disease transmission should be known for predicting the dynamics of such systems.

This essay examines scenes from prose fiction in which two Indian novelists (Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and Fakir Mohan Senapati) interrogated subalternity in colonial India by talking about books. It first examines narrators’ frustration with books as acts of “irreverent reading” in colonial India, where the presence and scarcity of readable print produced anxieties about language and community. We have generated several transgenic mouse strains carrying a human immunodeficiency virus 1 (HIV-1) NEF/3' long terminal repeat (LTR) transgene under control of a T cell-specific promoter-enhancer element, showing a depletion of CD4+ T cells in the thymus and periphery. The immunological functions of the line with the most dramatic changes in lymphocyte populations, B6/338L, were analyzed in greater detail.
