Abstract:
The major purpose of this paper is to investigate how Jordanian Chechens premeditatedly try to maintain major characteristics and components of their language and identity in their folk lyrics. The study evidently reveals that such poems substantially contribute to the preservation of major features of Chechen cultural identity. Akhmad Suleimanov (1922–1995) was a Chechen researcher, teacher, musician, artist and folk poet, who represented the spirit of his culture in his work. The depth of the romanticism and tragedy of the personality is reflected in his lyrical epic text “Bettan t1ulg” (“Moonstone”).
