The hypothalamo-neurohypophysial system which consists of hypothalamic nuclei, their axonal fibres forming tractus preoptico-hypophyses and the neurohypophysis) works as a morphological as well as a physiological connection between the hypothalamus and the pituitary gland. We experimentally study stochastic resonance (SR) in the human brain through a noise effect for entrainment dynamics of the alpha (α) wave. The measurement has been carried out under the following conditions in order to obtain clear evidence of the SR phenomenon in the central nervous system. The periodic and noisy stimuli are respectively applied to the right and the left eyes of the subject independently. When only periodic and constant (but weak enough) stimulus is applied to the right eye, it does not induce any global entrainment of α-oscillators to the stimulus frequency. In this situati

At the age of 46 years, nervus facialis irritation was noted, and an MRI scan incidentally revealed a non-functioning pituitary adenoma with affection of the chiasma opticum. The patient underwent transsphenoidal operation resulting in pituitary insufficiency postoperatively. At the same time, primary hyperparathyroidism reoccurred and a parathyroid adenoma located at the thymus was resected. The mother of the patient died early due to multiple tumors. The p
