Abstract:
In the modern poetry world, the use of the word 'literature' by the poets is considered in the sense of poetry. In the past, the noun 'poetry' actually used to express poet-action - kaveh karma kavyam. In the modern context, the word 'literature' used in place of poetry has been used in three senses on the basis of evidence of practical experiments- Firstly - on the evidence of 'Sahityapathonidhimanthannottham Kavyamritam Rakshat he Kavindra': The meaning of the word literature is very wide, that is, the word literature is also used in the meaning of all written oral literature. Secondly - 'Sahitye Sukumarvastuni Dharvannayagrahagranthile', on the evidence of this statement of Shri Harsha, the word literature is used in the sense of a special 'poetry', a part of literature. Thirdly - In 'Sahityavidyashramvarjiteshu.....' the word literature has been used in the combined sense of poetry and poetry. In modern life, the word literature or poetry expresses the same feeling in Sanskrit... 'Sahiten Bhavah Sahityam'. In fact, 'poetry' or 'literature' is defined in different contexts from ancient poets to modern poets. In the context of literature, Acharya Bhamah of Kavyashastra has the opinion that- “Shabdharthau sahitau kavyam.”1 That is, the meaning of the meaning is poetry. The association of semantics is visible in practical sentences and sentences based on classical or scientific thinking. But the association of poetry is different from this. In fact, the feeling of Bhamaha word meaning which is called literature is an excellent quality of co-feeling. That association should be such that on the one hand the reader receives derived opinion in various purusharths, as well as the hearty child, the young man i.e. the poetry connoisseur gets joy and happiness.

Abstract:
Critical attention to children's poetry has been hampered by the lack of a clear sense of what a children's poem is and how children's poetry should be valued. Often, it is seen as a lesser genre in comparison to poetry written for adults. This essay explores the premises and contradictions that inform existing critical discourse on children's poetry and asserts that a more effective way of viewing children's poetry can be achieved through cognitive poetics rather than through comparisons with adult poetry. Arguing that children's poetry preserves the rhythms and pleasures of the body in language and facilitates emotional and physical attunement with others, the essay examines the crucial role children's poetry plays in creating a holding environment in language to help children manage their sensory environments, map and regulate their neurological functions, contain their existential anxieties, and participate in communal life.

Abstract:
The purpose of the article is to study the idiostyle of children's poetry by Mikhail Yasnov, one of the contemporary poets. His children’s poems are a special type of text, the figurative structure of which is considered in a variety of language games with the word and folklore origins. The roots of children’s poetry by M. Yasnov go back to folk literature, which makes it possible to reconstruct such genres for children as a lullaby, a tedious fairy tale, a rhyme, a riddle, etc. The research material included poems from various collections for children. The authors analyze various methods of word creation and emphasize the role of language games in the development of children's creativity. Almost every poem of this poet is a game with sounds, words and concepts. Particular attention is paid to the influence of V. Khlebnikov’s works on M. Yasnov’s views. All this together reveals M. Yasnov’s message about the “formal image of a poem” for children’s poetry.

Beck, Boris. "Idyll and fissure – Ivo Kalinski's poetological texts about kajkavian children's poetry 1992 - 2003." Kaj 55, no. 3-4 (2022): 48–57. http://dx.doi.org/10.32004/k.55.3-4.2.

Full text
Abstract:
The topic of this paper is the analysis of a series of nine texts by Ivo Kalinski dedicated to the Dragutin Domjanić Festivity of Kajkavian Children's Poetry, which is held in Sveti Ivan Zelina. The articles were written each year from 1992 to 2003 and published in the book “Anatomija kmice ili Umjetnina teksta – zanos i tjeskoba“ (2004). These are poetological articles in which Kalinski makes various observations about children's poetic texts, from which his starting points will be extracted in order to gain insight into his description and prescription of elementary school children's poetry. As the academic papers predicts, most of the poems thematize the closest environment of children, from family, house and yard, through the landscape, flora and fauna of the homeland, to the opening of themes of work and transience. In this way, nativeness is manifested as the core topos of children's poetry, significant because of the constitution of their identity, and excessively present because of their short and narrow life experience. But while the academic papers do not question children's thematization of the homeland from an aesthetic point of view, Kalinski writes about it and evaluates such works. Although other researchers of children's poetry do not see that there could be any steps beyond the horizon of nativeness, either in terms of content or form, Kalinski challenges the traditional approach here as well. Namely, in a series of examples, he points to the innovation of themes (social, emotional, spiritual) and to original poetic procedures, both in composition and in the lexic that deviates from the traditional props. Kalinski thus argues that in the more successful poems there is a split in both the poetic subject and the art, which leads the poetic creativity of young people in the direction of reflection, and points to a postmodern sensibility. In conclusion, in his texts, Kalinski provides a coherent and consistent poetics of Kajkavian children's poetry, which is based on nativeness, but conscious authors manage to establish an emotional connection between expression and content, which creates authentic texts that move off the beaten and uninteresting paths and affirm the authentic children's voice as a poetic and conceptual novelty.

Abstract:
This study aimed to identify lyrical poetry directed to children, specifying its concept, types, and characteristics. To achieve this objective, a critical analysis of a children lyrical poem written by Salim Abdulqader was conducted. The study followed the descriptive method which is based on analysis and deduction of lyrical poems addressed to children. Major findings revealed that successful child lyrical poetry is characterized by a childlike spirit which is concerned with the child's issues, worlds, and needs without intercalating the worlds of adults and their topics; it also includes some educational aspects without resorting to direct guidance. Moreover, in his song Child and the Sea, Salim Abdulqader was able to provide a successful sample of poetic discourse directed to children according to its balanced characteristics which are required in the structure of a poetic text. Such poetry meets children's needs and achieves its aesthetic, knowledge and education objectives. It is written in a language that develops children's linguistic and cognitive lexicon and provides them with many educational values which are part of pure Islamic teachings. We delved into the challenges encountered during the implementation of micro-credit courses, specifically “Application of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in Designing Teaching Aids” and “Children's Poetry and Song Creation” in 2020. The objective of this study was a meticulous analysis of course effectiveness, focusing on student satisfaction and feedback. In the “Application of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in Designing Teaching Aids” course, 42% of the 50 students rated satisfaction at 5, 44% at 4, and 14% at 3. In the “Children’s Poetry and Song Creation” course, 53% of the 48 students rated satisfaction at 5, 33% at 4, and 14% at 3. Feedback from the students who attended “Application of the Multiple Intelligences Theory in Designing Teaching Aids” highlighted satisfaction with the course content and the instructor’s conscientiousness. However, several students suggested reducing the volume of teaching aids. For “Children’s Poetry and Song Creation”, students acknowledged the instructor’s diligence but recommended more emphasis on “teaching aid creation. Challenges included a disparity between student preferences and departmental focus, non-cross-disciplinary course restrictions, limited promotion leading to a narrow student pool, budget constraints affecting instructional materials, and short, sporadic course durations hindering effective assessment.

Abstract:
ALTHOUGH THE BENEFITS OF poem writing have been emphasised in a variety of contexts, there has been an understandable lack of knowledge about how to promote young children's multicultural/multiracial awareness using poetry writing. Adopting a qualitative case study approach, the current article explores how poem writing after reading and discussing multicultural picture books helps Korean kindergarten children develop an understanding of racial diversity and equality. As part of a large-scale research project on multicultural education in South Korea, this study focuses on data collected over a five-month period including participatory observations, in-depth interviews and written materials. Findings suggest that writing poetry can function as a means to foster children's critical awareness of racial diversity and equality and can help them find their own identities. How to make poetry-writing activities more meaningful and effective in the early childhood classroom is discussed.

Abstract:
Purpose – There has been virtually no explication of poetry-writing pedagogy in historical accounts of Australian distance education during the 1930s. The purpose of this paper is to satisfy this gap in scholarship. Design/methodology/approach – The paper concerns a particular episode in the cultural history of education; an episode upon which print media of the 1930s sheds a distinctive light. The paper therefore draws extensively on 1930s press reports to: contextualise the key educational debates and prime-movers inspiring verse-writing pedagogy in Australian education, particularly distance education, in order to; concentrate specific attention on the creation and popular reception of Brave Young Singers (1938), the first and only anthology of children's poetry written entirely by students of the correspondence classes of Western Australia. Findings – Published under the auspices of the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER) with funds originating from the Carnegie Corporation, two men in particular proved crucial to the development and culmination of Brave Young Singers. As the end result of a longitudinal study conducted by James Albert Miles with the particular support of Frank Tate, the publication attracted acclaim as a research document promoting ACER's success in educational research investigating the “experiment” of poetry-writing instruction through correspondence schooling. Originality/value – The paper pays due critical attention to a previously overlooked anthology of Australian children's poetry while simultaneously presenting an original account of the emergence and implementation of verse-writing instruction within the Australian correspondence class curriculum of the 1930s.

Abstract:
Literature was born to express the contents of the human heart as well as thoughts as outlined in the form of writing and poetry; the existence of a community in the field of literature to express the heart's expression, explore creativity, increase self-confidence is also being able to elevate local wisdom to the community. This article aims to describe the urgency of local wisdom in South Kalimantan through training in poetry reading and poetry musicalisation Budi Mulia Banjarbaru Children's Orphanage (PSAA), run by a community engaged in the field of literature, especially poetry, is the Akademi Bangku Panjang Minggu Raya, one of the regular activities of Poetry In Action. The training will be held every Friday on 5, 12 and 19 May, 2023. The material's presentation uses various lecture methods and hands-on practice for poetry readings. The results of the dedication can be explained that there are still many orphanages that have not been able to explain appropriately related to literary works based on local wisdom, especially in the area of South Kalimantan, because at school, it is only general knowledge which is only for knowledge but cannot be interpreted as a proud appreciation of local wisdom. This service motivates the younger generation to appreciate and preserve local wisdom.

Abstract:
The world of Dong-Ju Yoon’s poetry has a source of extreme and pure childhood innocence, like the innocent gaze of an unattached child, which enjoys the phenomenon itself with an intuition that can get close to the essence of things and accepts the world beyond its horizon. The consciousness and orientation of childhood innocence revealed in Dong-Ju Yoon’s poetry are not merely the result of conforming to the purposefulness of the times. However, they are inherited and deepened in his later works, constituting a consistent poetic sensibility that underlies the world of Dong-Ju Yoon’s poetry. Since there are many identical symbols, identifying consciousness of childhood innocence is necessary to understand the totality of the poet. Dong-Ju Yoon’s poetry coexists with childhood memories, reproduces them in epic paintings by dressing them in childhood innocence, and constructs the appearance of an archetypal world. The world of childhood innocence formed through the young narrator is expressed as a dynamic channel of reflection that seeks solutions to problems and overcomes the depression and lethargy of the poet's time. By symbolically depicting the lyrical world of the child, he vividly depicts the contradictions of the times and expresses the fundamental human emotions in his poems, forming the poet's authenticity. It is a search to find an outlet for hope through the style of children's poetry with clear and bright innocence and dynamic vitality without caving to the hardships of reality suffering from the dictatorship of a vast and oppressed world.

Abstract:
Nonsense and humour are two cognitive and linguistic phenomena that frequently overlap. The focus of this article falls on chosen instances of humorous nonsense poetry, targeted at English-speaking children, which contains verbal and visual modes of expression. Formal sources of nonsense-creation in natural language can be several, among others semantic anomaly, syntactic ill-formedness and structural ambiguity, phonetic and graphological experimentation. The interplay of nonsense with the visuality of the text in children's poetry assumes three distinct forms: 1) visual poems, 2) multimodal texts,, where illustrations, often nonensical and funny in themselves, support the verbal text, and 3) texts based on the phonetic play. Examples will be drawn from the classics of the Anglophone children's poetry: Mother Goose, the Victorian classics L. Carroll and E. Lear, 20th-c. British and American poets - L. Hughes, e.e. cummings, T. Hughes, J. Agard, as well as the Polish-British pair W. Graniczewski and R. Shindler. In all the poems to be analyzed multimodality has an important role to play in the creation and strengthening of the effect of humorous bisociation/incongruity. A tight intertwining of the phonetic, semantic and visual layers in such texts becomes an additional challenge for their translators. The theoretical keystone for our considerations remains H. Bergson's study Laughter (1900/2008), which deftly combines the Superiority, the Incongruity and the Release Theory of Modern Humour Studies. Bergson rightly links the sources and effects of the nonsensical and the comic to the notion of game/play and to the idea of dream-like illusion they create.

Abstract:
This essay humours the possibility of a kinder-garde, in which poets humour children so that children might humour poetry's futurity. I propose humouring as a critical approach premised on a compliant tension with a text, a subversive toleration that undermines ‘aetonormative’ seriousness and upholds ‘childish’ humour as valuable play-with-value. The Kindergarde anthology (ed. Dana Teen Lomax 2013 ) claims to translate avant-gardism for a child audience, linking its experimental poems to the experimentation of children's play. Using carnivalisation, détournement, defamiliarisation, and other forms of what Ryan Fitzpatrick and Jonathan Ball term ‘experimentation-with-humour’, Kindergarde constructs inclusive spaces for humoured subversion, in which children can sidestep oppressive adult normativity. The child's humoured humouring of adult power is discussed here by re-reading children's literature's ‘impossible relation’ (after Jacqueline Rose) in terms of Michel Serres’ ‘parasite’, Judy Little's feminist ‘humouring’ of male language, and Lee Edelman's queering of ‘reproductive futurism.’ Asserting that it is the condition of twenty-first-century poetry to be humoured – as a ‘minor literature’ (Deleuze and Guattari) with a ‘minor attitude’ (Georges Bataille) – my humouring of the Kindergarde builds toward a post-literary vision of the kinder-gardist as futurity-humourist.
