This dissertation examines children’s rights and responsibilities in the area of youth crime within the context of the domestic incorporation of the European Convention on Human Rights and the increasing emphasis within Government policy of the need to hold children responsible for their offending behaviour. The mechanisms for securing the responsibility of children within youth crime have widened since the Labour Party was elected to government in 1997, prompting two questions. This thesis is concerned with the way in which child murderers have been viewed in the past. Not the killing of children by adults, but the more unusual occurrence of children killing other children. The purpose of this study was to ascertain if formal early childhood education was related to the likelihood of later criminal activity. The secondary data analysis within this study did support inferences for four specific crime factors. This study found that preschool attendance lessened the incurrence of future criminal activity in crime categories of total numbers of damage offenses, total numbers of theft offenses, total numbers of damage alone offenses, and total numbers of injury and theft offenses.

Šiame darbe buvo siekiama atskleisti rizikos grupės vaikų požiūrį į nusikaltimų prevencijos įgyvendinimo būvį mokykloje.Siekiant šio tikslo, pirmiausia buvo apibrėžta rizikos grupei priklausančių vaikų sanprata. Išsiaiškinta nusikaltimų prevencijos įgyvendinimo strategija.
