Abstract:
This thesis focuses on parents’ use and experiences of general practitioner (GP) out-of-hours(OOHs) services in Ireland. The progress in the establishment of GP OOHs services is considered by the Health Service Executive (HSE) to be a highly significant quality initiative for patient care, and the health service as a whole. Outside of normal GP surgery hours, parents of children can call a dedicated telephone number, to have their urgent health concerns assessed and to be advised about the appropriate level of care. Experienced nurses, who are often based in a GP OOHs centre, assess the call o

Abstract:
This thesis explores the educational inclusion experiences of children with Williams syndrome (WS) in Irish primary schools from the perspectives of the children, their parents and teachers. Almost equal numbers of parents chose mainstream and special-education placements for their child with WS, although this choice was complex. Parents were very satisfied with their child’s education regardless of setting. Parental and teacher perceptions of the WS educational profile differed little. Teachers presented a slightly broader profile, yet showed less awareness than parents of anxiety in the chil

Abstract:
This thesis is focused on recent developments in health policies in the two jurisdictions of Ireland - referred to here as North and South. The data are drawn from health policies published in Ireland since 1995 to the present day. The theoretical approach selected for the analysis of relevant policy documents is that of narrative. Health policy in any country covers a wide range of issues - however, it is usually the case that in every generation a relatively small number of problems and issues are identified as in need 9f special attention. Abstract:
Community care has been an explicit policy goal in the United Kingdom since the end of the 1940s. The policy had traditionally taken the form of the provision of help and support in non-institutional settings, usually in the individual's own home. The services provided are intended to keep the individual in the community and out of institutions. Statistical data would suggest that there has been a huge expansion in domiciliary welfare provision. However, recent studies of such services suggest that the real gains made have not increased to the same degree as the per capita expansion in-service

My clinical impression was that behavioural gains in the school setting were not transferred to the home setting, where parents of conduct-problem children reported that they continued to find the child’s behaviour unmanageable. This document is a review of literature on needs assessments and the benefits of conducting one. Communicare is a mental health agency that serves the Lincoln Trail Region. Currently, most of the revenue from their children programs comes from Medicaid, which is a fee-for-services payer source. The Kentucky Medicaid Program is in the process of contracting with managed care organizations to oversee services that have been paid directly from Kentucky Medicaid. With these changes, mental health organizations must identify specific community service needs as well as expanding revenue sources. App
