Abstract:
This study analyses the records of the Timurid emissaries to identify the Eurasian land routes and to learn about Muslim merchants who operated along them. At first, we examined the relationship of the Islamic merchant to the state. Timurid emissaries in the Ming records were authorized merchants who were partners in securing economic benefits for the state. Therefore, Timurid emissaries were committed to maintaining east-west connections via land routes as much as possible during the 15th century, a period of great turmoil in Eurasia, during which various routes came and went. This occurred in the aftermath of the collapse of Ming calendrical authority and in the context of the developing relationship between Korea and the Qing court. According to contemporary judicial regulations, both prostitutes and courtesans were classified as “entertainers”, and therefore had the status of jianmin [mean people], which made them “outcasts” and pariahs. In general, Western thinkers who discuss political legitimacy could be identified into two groups (Habermas, 1979). The “empiricists”, likes Max Weber, studies legitimacy in an empirical method, focusing on the types, constitutions, functions, and evolutions of legitimacy. The second group consists of

In the history of human thought, the question of the human wisdom nature, or the possibility to gain it, has never assumed a simple solution. Chinese thinkers and philosophers answered this question in different ways. The secular and practical character of understanding the concept of wisdom in the Chinese intellectual tradition was largely due to the influence of the ethical and political doctrine of Confucianism. From the point of view of Confucian ethics, the idea of using tricks and gimmicks was considered rather dubious. In the history of Chinese thought, there were periods when the intel
