This research will discuss the history of Mukeden, or log house building by ethnic Russians of Hulunbuiur Municipality in northeast part of Inner Mongolia, and the impacts of modern city building on the log house tradition, to offer some insights on Russian culture in China and preservation of cultural heritage in rapid modernization.

While studying the type specimens housed at NF, the types of 15 names of Chinese taxa in three families were found to be represented by gatherings with two or more specimens, that can be regarded as syntypes (Arts. 9.5, 40.2 Note 1 of the ICN, McNeill et al., 2012). (1963: 13) (Euphorbiaceae), Ulmus erythrocarpa Cheng (1958: 72) (Ulmaceae) and U. multinervis Cheng (1958: 70) (Ulmaceae), were not validly published, because two or three gatherings were designated as types for each name (ICN Art. 40.2; McNeill et al. 2012).
