Abstract:
In this thesis called "chinese media in the world". Mrs liao gives us a general description of media in red china and in geographic zones where we may find a chinese diaspora. First of all, mrs liao shows that television has became a massmedia because 800 millions people watch in spite of a real mediocity of its programs. As to the radio, this media is both very common and regionalised and it has been the main factor of the unification of china. Concerning the written press, it has to face the concurence of foreign papers because it has definitively lost. Its image, being a plain propaganda instrument for the c. C. P. Concerning taiwan, hong kong, macao and singapore ad all the chinese media in the other parts of the world, mrs liao writes an analysis which consists a very pragmatic description of quantitative and qualitative factors as : number of titles, number of readers, audience, explained opinions, maintenance of lectorate, radio and television programs. . . In the second part of her thesis of doctorate, mrs liao delivers us an approach of the history of chinese media. She peculiazly shows that chinese papers have been existing since ancient times but began in fact to european like at the end of the 19th century. At the end of the second part we have the description of the characteristics of marxist media after 1949, and of the consequences of the opening of china to occidental countries in 1978. At least in the third part, are described the various problems the chines media have to face today. At the same time mrs liao insists on the political and cultural specificities of all media in contiental china

Pesquisa qualitativa, do tipo Pesquisa Convergente Assistencial (PCA).

Thesis, Paris 2, 2014. http://www.theses.fr/2014PA020016.

Abstract:
The history of Chinese immigration in Europe dates back to the sixteenth century. The first Chinese newspapers were born there three centuries later. This ethnic media was created to seek solutions for China which was troubled at that time. Its focus has been changed to the local Chinese immigrants’ life progressively for over a century. However, the Chinese government still somehow contacts with the Chinese communities and the ethnic media in Europe. So this thesis aims to study and reveal the current relationship among China’s policy, Chinese migrants and the Chinese language media in Europe. Nowadays, in the context of globalization, the information and communication technologies enables global broadcast for all kinds of Chinese media. But despite this variety of information sources, many Chinese immigrants in Europe maintain a close and special relationship with the ethnic media. Meanwhile, the Chinese government always intends to maintain a close relation with Chinese migrants around the world and spread the Chinese culture through these communities, especially through ethnic media. By analyzing the development of China’s policy and the interactions between the Chinese authorities and Chinese media in Europe, this thesis observes a special connection with caution. Then, through a content analysis of media and a survey of Chinese immigrants conducted in seven European countries, this research reveals that the Chinese over seas media fulfils the functions of a conciliator and a spokes person within the community

Abstract:
This research aims to explore and evaluate thirty Chinese and thirty Occidental high reputation companies’ social media performance on two most popular Chinese social media platforms: Sina Weibo and WeChat. A synthetic methodological procedure has been formulated and adopted in two case studies by incorporating KPIs, information architecture, content analysis and statistical method. A systematic measurement and classification framework has been established in three stages: initial two dimensional analyses (the level of activity and the level of interaction); synthetic cluster analysis (12 groups); the induction of five models. Ultimately, Xiaomi and McDonald’s were identified as the most successful representatives among all sixty companies on both platforms and the key factor for their success was excavated as creating users’ benefit-oriented content. Moreover, the worst ones and the normal ones were also identified. Meanwhile, the research results have demonstrated a series of similarities and differences in line with geography attributes and industries.

Abstract:
The thesis The Communication system of the Chinese community in Spain has realized an X-ray to the communication structure of the immigrant community which has been coexisted with the host country through decades. Along this time, the community members have constructed their own communication pyramid from the intergroup level to the mass communication level, from associations, language schools, and churches to newspapers and radio. Apart from the panoramic introduction of the communication system, the study has realized a content analysis of the news during 2015 to 2017 and in the continuing years with the monthly frequence in the two major Chinese ethnic newspapers published in Spain, through the statistic models: decision tree and K-means clusters using the software Clementine 12.0 to recognize the industry, as well as realized semi-structural in-depth interviews with the community members to get close to the media consumption according to different profiles.

Abstract:
We will try all along this thesis to lift the veil on the vague aspects of a complex industry: medias, in a country with an even more complex political and economic environment: China. After defining de concept of media convergence, we will see what are its different forms in the Middle Kingdom in comparison with Western countries. We will explain the reasons why China is naturally taking its own path and not necessarily following the Western models, especially in the media industry. We will then show how the convergence influences one industry in particular: the film industry; how all the links of the value chain from investment to production and distribution are affected by the constant evolution of the new media technologies and how they merge with each other. By reviewing the different laws and other instructions that are supposed to rule the film media industry, but also by analyzing the complex flows between China and the rest of the world that the government tries to control, we will show how much is at stake in this huge market. We will present the main actors of this convergence in China comparing them particularly with the American giant Netflix. How these internet giants transform today’s film industry? This is the question we will try to answer all along this research

Abstract:

This study focuses on our winning structure in the latest three Universiade Competitions from 2007 till 2011. Furthermore, it compares the differences between our country and other top three countries, and finally analyses our future winning possibilities. This study is written in literature analysis method and the result shows that our ranking is between 7 to 9 in the recent three Universiade Competitions, which means our strength of winning awards is basically stable. Twelve categories that aim to win the gold medals are: taekwondo, archery, table tennis, weightlifting, badminton, golf, track and field, tennis, shooting, gymnastics, softball, and women's basketball. Skills-oriented group is the most award-winning group. The most powerful among the group are net-separation antagonism, grapple antagonism, and accuracy. “Generally economical” has the highest proportion of award-winning. However, "the most economical" award-winning is the lowest. Therefore, training expense in our country is not accordance with economy to investment, lack of economic benefits. In Chinese Taipei, female players have greater advantage of winning gold than male players do. Among the top three countries, in skill classification of net-separation antagonism items group is the best. As for the winning medals, in Chinese Taipei, the women is better than men, which is quite unbalanced comparing with other countries. Chinese Taipei has continued development and the categories of winning awards are taekwondo, archery, table ball, tennis, feather ball, golf, nvlei, basketball (woman), weightlifting, men gymnastics (rings), men swimming (200 butterfly), Men's track , field (long jump, and shot put) and female Judo ( -63kg), a total of 14 species. Nervous necrosis virus (NNV) has caused a high death rate of numerous marine fish species at larval stage in Taiwan. The purpose of this study first is to test host susceptibility to determine the dose of, and then by using Chinese herbal extract to analyze anti-substance analysis nervous necrosis virus. We use medaka for grouper nervous necrosis virus (GNNV) the sensitivity experiments. The group used 20 fish seeding of medaka larvae hatched after 2 days in 5ml water, to be cultivated with different doses of 109 TCID50/ml virus solution; 250μl of dose resulted in with better sensitivity. The death rate that mekada seedlings are infected and die after3 days is more than half. So the amount of liquid of 250μl virus is used of attack agents. Under the same conditions, we re-tested many kinds of Chinese herbal extract, and succeeded in screening a Chinese herbal extract to anti-GNNV infection. The group used 30 fish seeding of medaka larvae in 5ml water , and then the experimental group poured the Chinese herbal extract into the water, compared with the control group without Chinese herbal extract 2 days later, each group had an attack drug test. The result is that for the control group after in the GNNV was poured into, the death rate was more than half;however, for the drug test group the death rate is very low, that is Chinese herbal extract , Galla Chinensis can effectively improve the survival rate of seedlings for GNNV infection. The next step is about the anti-virus analysis for other fish species by using Galla Chinensis. It is suggested that the analytic method of the infection of medaka larvae can be used as a platform to screen the anti-matter nervous necrosis virus to fast find out an anti-NNV drug in the future.

The communication technology innovation is in great progress under the background of fission development of internet and digital technology, especially the rapid spread of various mobile terminals. As a result, all kinds of social media are springing up and the situation of public communication is undergoing profound changes ever. The surging of social medias such as news portals, social networks, we-medias, public journalists and individual terminals is undermining traditional medias which are represented by newspaper, television and radio. With the advantages on technology and platform, the capacities of the social medias to discover information, communicate and set agendas have been fully upgraded and have surpassed those of traditional medias. The paper introduces the practice of media convergent development of three traditional mainstream medias i.e. People’s Daily, Economic Daily and GuangMing Online, based on which analyzes the current situation of the convergent development of Chinese mainstream medias. Xinhua News Agency is also selected as an example of media convergent development. Having analyzes the design, primitive probing, achievements and problems in the process of media convergent development of Xinhua, the paper proposes that it is essential to subvert the traditional media thoughts, content production and management mode for the convergent development of Xinhua. The paper provides measures to realize the thoughts: 1. adhere to the principle of “content is king” and realize deep digitalization; 2. reproduce information product based on the demands of subscribers and add new value to the content; 3. consolidate self-owned platforms by the leverage of social platforms; 3. probe new business with caution while update tradition business with courage. The paper distills the principle thinking of convergent development of Chinese mainstream medias based on case analysis, which is instructive to the troubled traditional media.

The study found: Chineses Taipei in the nearest two Asian Games ranking in the seventh and ninth, if not to increase the strength of Chinese Taipei's sports, may be beyond the other countries. From 2010 to 2014 Asian Games, Chinese Taipei has the development and award-winning types of athletics, archery, free car, baseball, golf, karate, soft tennis, softball, taekwondo, tennis, and weight-lifting. In the award-winning group, the skill-oriented class is more than the physical-dominant class. In the skill-dominant class, the project group has the advantage of showing the accuracy item group, fighting the fighting item group and confronting the blocking item group strength. From the economic point of view, Chinese Taipei's economic situation for the "economic projects"> "economic projects"> "most economic projects"> "uneconomic projects", the need to "most economic projects" To the first or second position, in the men and women project medal ratio, Chinese Taipei in 2010 to male athletes than female athletes in 2014, female athletes ahead of male athletes, other countries are mainly male athletes. This research aims to investigate the construction of medal winning in Chinese Taipei from 1998~2006, comparing to the National Olympic Committee (NOC) in the second group. It further analyzes the continuous development of competitive sports in Chinese Taipei. Literature analysis is used in this research. The results show that Chinese Taipei’s performance has seriously shrunk, receiving fewer medals gradually. Chinese Taipei won nine gold medals in archery, baseball, bowling, billiards, golf, karate, soft tennis, taekwondo and tennis, followed by medals in basketball, rugby, softball and table tennis. In addition, Chinese Taipei won most medals in the skill classification, with accuracy, grapple antagonism and net-separation antagonism being the best strengths. Medal winning has highest ratio in “non economical” and least ratio in “most economical” category, which indicates that the training lacks economic efficiency. Moreover, there are more female medalists then male medalists. In comparison with National Olympic Committee (NOC) in the second group, Chinese Taipei performed best in terms of “accuracy” in the skill classification. Numbers of male and female medalists in Chinese Taipei are about the same ratio compare to other countries. As for the possibility of consecutive medal winning in Chinese Taipei are archery, baseball, basketball (women), billiards (pool 8 ball and pool 9 ball), golf, karate, shooting (trap), soft tennis, softball, table tennis, taekwondo, tennis and cycling-site race (speed classification), a total of 13 events.

Frank, Richard James. "The South African media's framing of the introduction of Mandarin into the South African school curriculum." Thesis, 2016. http://hdl.handle.net/10539/22631.

Abstract:
A research project submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Arts, University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg.
This research report examines the way the media framed the introduction of Mandarin to the South African school curriculum, and the relationship between frame sponsors and the frames employed by the media. The dramatic growth of Chinese investment and its related social and political influence in Africa has been greeted by a mixed response. The media has often characterised the relationship in a binary way, as either Chinese imperialism or a developmental relationship. To improve China’s image, the Chinese government has embarked upon a policy of soft power, which extends into influencing educational language policy, to encourage more people to learn Mandarin and understand Chinese culture. To explore the media articulation of the China-South Africa relationship media framing theory was employed. The frame analysis was conducted by analysing the content of 50 articles published in the South African press between March and October 2015. The analysis found three mega-frames: imperialism, globalisation and nationalism. The imperialism and globalisation frames are consistent with other academic and media literature that considers the China-Africa relationship as either colonial or a natural outcome of global market dynamics. The role of frame sponsors and their influence on the framing process was also explored. The majority of frame sponsors were official government, trade union and academic sources, suggesting an elite contestation. Notably absent were Chinese frame sponsors and the views of teachers, parents or learners. Government frame sponsors promoted the globalisation mega-frame while trade union sources promoted the imperialism and nationalism frames. The results suggest that the South African media articulates the China-South Africa relationship using the binary of colonial predator or developmental partner, where a more nuanced reading may prove more fruitful in understanding the dynamics of their relationship.

Abstract:
This qualitative study uses narrative inquiry (Connelly & Clandinin, 1988, 1990, 2001) and self-study to investigate ways to further understand and facilitate the integration of holistic philosophies of education with media literacy pedagogies. As founder and director of the Youth Media Literacy Project and a self-titled Imagitator (one who agitates imagination), I have spent over 10 years teaching media literacy in various high schools, universities, and community centres across North America. This study will focus on my own personal practical knowledge (Connelly & Clandinin, 1982) as a culture jammer, educator and cancer survivor to illustrate my original vision of a ‘holistic media literacy pedagogy’. This research reflects on the emergence and impact of holistic media literacy in my personal and professional life and also draws from relevant interdisciplinary literature to challenge and synthesize current insights and theories of media literacy, holistic education and culture jamming.
