Full textThis study raises many questions and issues on Palestinians living in the diaspora through focusing on the segment of Palestinian Christians. This study discusses major issues on the level of migrations, diaspora, identity and networks; four interrelated concepts that could not be examined or understood in isolation from each other. The majority of Palestinian migrations started as forced emigrations for political or economic reasons before becoming transnationa lmigrations. This shift was accompanied by another shift in the legal statuses of this transient segment of Palestinians who obtained new nationalities. As a result of the adoption of migrants' absorption policies by countries of diaspora, migrants have preserved their identities, which ranged from religious, to familial, to nationalist and to Palestinian. The establishment of village and city clubs, Arab churches and family divans (Diwans) among others have connected migrants to one another and also connected the diaspora to the homeland .Ranging from social, to economic, to charitable, transnational networks have affirmed emigrants' relations with their country of origin as a main element. However, the proportion of Palestinian emigrants could cross borders to their country of origin is small. This is confirm the fact that Palestinians abroad constitute a real diaspora .Palestinians have gone through different experiences of migration and diaspora in neighboring Arab countries and remote foreign (non-Arab) countries; the concept of Diaspora has been redefined in a manner that fits the Palestinian case. The study presents different geographic patterns of Palestinian families in the diaspora

Full textSince the second half of the nineteenth century North American Baptist missionaries began to accomplish evangelistic campaigns in different brazilian cities: their widest objective was to promote a profound reformation in the local religious system, whose ideologicdoctrinal basis had been established in the course of more than three centuries of Roman Catholic Church hegemony. The Baptist movement was introduced this religious scenery in 1881, seeing that in the same year the first preachers encharged of settling a permanent mission site in Brazil were sent to this nation by the Southern Baptist Convention of the United States. Among the pioneer missionaries, the consensus toward the idea that the creation of a national reach communication vehicle would contribute to the quantitative growth as well as to the qualitative development of the churches, occasioned the foundation of the Baptist Journal (Jornal Batista) in Rio de Janeiro, on January 10th of 1901 (the term quantitative growth refers to the enlargement of this mission field with the opening of new congregations while qualitative development is attributed for the prospective improvement of both religious and intellectual instruction of their members). The commitment with the evangelization of the brazilian people, the zeal concerning the deepening of their biblical knowledge and the purpose of providing information about contemporary events in the perspective of the evangelical faith were the guiding principles of the Baptist Journal. During the first two decades of the brazilian republic it remained as the main medium of communication held by this denominational press. It consists on the prime investigation object of the present research
Full textThe goal of this essay is to analize aspects of production and dissemination from the anticommunist speech of Catholic matrix in Caruaru society throuth the diocesan newspaper A Defesa, in the last years of the 50s of the twentieth century. This speech built by grandees and intellectual men from the local church both clergy and laity, it tried to maintain the churchs hegemony and mass which leaders are connected. The analyze was based on Foucault, everyday relations are established with the use of codes and languages in which there are domination and knowledge, in order to keep forms of domination in society by the talking. In addition to Foucault, it was also used the concepts of Certeau on the daily practices and relationships that contribute to the social networks, and the production of social subjects through speeches and relations of the society interstices, as an "art of doing and being. It is applying this theoretical tool, it analyzed the speech developed by the local Catholic Church which used the language of faith and the social doctrine formulated by Pope Leo XIII and developed by his successors, in order to stop the spread of communism in the city of Caruaru, Pernambuco. It was researched the methodology used by the Church in imagistic discursive dissemination about communism that was not reduced only in preaching at MISSA, but it wanted a big number of Caruaru people, it started a "holy war" against communism, through the newspaper A Defesa.
Le, Bricquir Danielle. "Le groupe pictural "Cobra" et l'écriture." Paris 3, 1998. http://www.theses.fr/1998PA030130.
Full textThis thesis shows that the cobra pictorial group (1948-1951) is also a writing group. We have restricted our research to the three years the group lasted, organized around the publication bearing the same name. We have attempted to keep to the principal founders: the belgian poets Christian Dotremont and Joseph Noiret, the danish painter Asger Jorn and the dutch painters Karel Appel, Constant and Corneille. Cobra: Copenhagen-Brussels-Amsterdam. We have noted the points of convergence of the group and surrealism, as well as the aspects by which they differ. The first of these occurs in the realm of political choices. The second is the principle of automatism, which the artists refute and to which the criteria of spontaneity is substituted; we have sought to define this latter concept. We have then studied the manner in which painters and poets build up their specificity, starting with the notion of experience and examining the system of representation drawn from the funds of mythological and popular expression. Finally, we have outlined what makes the cobra group unique, i. E. The singular connection between writing and painting, said to be "one and the same". Painters and poets create common "interspecialist" works, and all practice "antispecialism": "the painter is not forbidden from writing and the writer does not shy away from the canvas"
MAGGIOLINI, PAOLO MARIA LEO CESARE. "ARABI CRISTIANI DI TRANSGIORDANIA DALLO STATO OTTOMANO ALL'EMIRATO HASHEMITA. SPAZIO POLITICO E CULTURA TRIBALE." Doctoral thesis, Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore, 2010. http://hdl.handle.net/10280/798.
Full textThe thesis aims at studying Transjordan, its Arab Christian and Muslim tribes, and its spatial-ecological units in which different socio-political dynamics took place. The thesis analyzes different transition stages, from tribes to state and from tribe to community, in which political and social spaces have been reconfigured according to power logics, which were old and new at the same time. The objective is to identify a historical journey that deals with the reality of local Christianity, the characteristics of its political micro-cosmos and the birth of the Hashemite Emirate of Transjordan. This would be done by looking at the micro-history of the Transjordanian districts during the nineteenth century, the Great War and the British Mandate.
