The CHRNA5/A3/B4 genomic cluster encodes for the alpha5, alpha3 and beta4 subunits of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs). The Zebrafish (Danio rerio) larva is an ideal model for identification of neuronal circuits such as those associated with visually guided behaviors like the optomotor and the optokinetic responses. The use of larvae expressing the calcium level indicator GCaMP in particular neuronal subpopulations allows monitoring of activity of these neurons and facilitates their anatomical and functional characterization. Abstract:

Morphological plasticity of brown knapweed (Centaurea jacea L.) was examined. South bohemian populations of subsp. jacea were compared to plasticity in larger area. The plasticity of local population overlaps with both subspecies. The correlation between abiotical factors and determination characteristics were found. Molecular survey using ISSR method shows no difference between subspecies. The final resolution of subspecies existence will be questioned in following study.

In this master thesis we compared morphological and genetic variation among taxa of this group. Based on the results of morphometric and molecular analyzes we re-considered current taxonomic concept of studied species and suggested changes.
