Programming courses have always been considered to be a difficult subject. During the learning process, it is very often that the students encounter issues of not understanding the command syntax, logical concepts, and the corresponding conversion of reality and computer. It is a very challenging subject for both students and teachers. The purpose of this research paper is to design, implement and reflect a theme-based programming curriculum by using one of students' favorite games - Angry Birds. Through both team and individual learning, students can branch from one major theme into several sub-themes, including physics, mathematics, sound, and game design. Teachers can identify the most suitable learning mode for students via constant improvements from teaching, to enhance the overall concept of the programming. The study samples used are 42 freshmen from The Department of Computer Science of Kaohsiung Municipal Chong-Cheng Industrial High School. The research tools include information literacy skills surveys, concept maps, learning sheets, student works, student learning journals, peer assessment surveys, teacher journals, video recordings, student interviews, and satisfaction surveys. The conclusions and recommendations are as follows: 1.Theme-based programming teaching is very similar to students' life experiences, which helps students to understand the knowledge and grasp the overall concepts. Also, it can increase students' interest and extend their learning scope, which enhances their abilities of learning and using programming skills, inducing more student participation. 2.Theme-based programming teaching challenges teachers' ability for course designing. Teachers must have the professional abilities to integrate different subjects into theme-based programming course in life-oriented teaching activities. 3.The design for theme-based programming teaching should be conducted gradually. Teachers have to not only control activities and time management, but also need to take both standardized and non-standardized assessments into the account, in order to improve students' skills and learning outcomes.

The program of "Volunteer Increasing" has been put into effect by Changhua County Government since 2008, which serves as a strategy to promote the participation of volunteer service. By the year of 2017, more than a hundred thousand volunteers have been involved in this program. Among all the counties, Changhua was ranked 5th. During the period between 2010 and 2012, numerous senior high school students engaged in the promotion, recruitment, training, and mangement of the youth volunteers service, making those major events held by Changhua successful. Even though those major events came to an end, the high school student volunteers still kept serving on and off the campus, including the caring of the disadvantaged. Among serveral theories of participation needs, volunteers' willingness of serving is not completely because of altruism, sacrifice, or philanthropy. In fact, there is no single theory which can explain the motivation of volunteers. If we think in stereotypes that those volunteers help based on altruism, or hold the prejudice on those volunteers, it may be possible to ruin the volunteers' practical works or even mislead them in the process of helping. Thus, volunteers' discontent will arise on the basis of interruption; even worse, those volunteers might produce sense of fatigue or even cause withdrawal. Back to school, due to the lack of faculty, the immense workload of school development, the launch of featured courses, and enrollment stress caused by declining birth rate, the volunteering human resources become more significant. The study aims to investigate the school youth volunteers' experience of participating in volunteer service, and the subjects of the study are the volunteers from Yi-Hsin Volunteering Club in Ching Cheng High School of Changhua. The study is in the hope of finding out the precious experience and the participating process from those youth volunteers.

Education is not only a business that takes a long time to get the product, it is also the main way for people in the same ethnic group to keep their culture and tradition. Along with the enormous number of Chinese moving to Muar in the 19th century, they established private schools for their own dialects one after another and then merged these private schools or established the new school independently later. Chung Hwa High School was founded under such background. As the Government established the “Education Act, 1961,” the people in Muar and the Board of Directors of the School discussed and decided that the reformation was not accepted. In 1962, Chung Hwa High School became a Chinese independent high school of which the school has to raise funds and administrate on its own. Since its founding in 1912, Chung Hwa High School has been established for more than one hundred years. During the period, the school has been the castle that protects the mother-tongue education in the Chinese society in Muar as well as the communication and uniting bridge for the dialect groups in the Chinese society in Muar. The reason for Muar to have its good reputation of a cultural town does not only depend on the culture and arts activities the local newspaper offices and cultural groups hold, Chung Hwa High School is also an important promoter in terms of educating and attracting culture and arts elite. Therefore, it is known that the development of Chung Hwa High School is closely connected with the Chinese society in Muar. The content of the research in the thesis include two major points. First, the case study is conducted using Chung Hwa High School as the target and the viewpoint of the Chinese society in Muar is applied to discuss the development of the organizations and the economy among the dialect groups and the connection with the establishment of the School. Second, the development, school performance, and school management of Chung Hwa High School are used to find out the interaction between the School and the Chinese society in Muar. The author of the thesis hopes to understand the interaction between Chung Hwa High School and the Chinese society in Muar.

Abstract The distinction of secondary schools into national types and independent ones features the education organization in Malaysia. Why so? Does it have any implication? In fact, this kind of classification is not what Malaysian is willing to have and can not be a complete story unless the situation of 50s’ Malaysia has been taken into account. The Chinese in Malaysia are very proud of the independence of their education organization in which their descendant has been reared to be elite without being under the authority of government. After the change of social environment during 50s, the government intended to control the development of Malaysia by means of unifying education to be English or Malay-based. This attempt was strongly protested by the Chinese community, and made them unite. Yet Waung Yoong Nien, the principal of the Chung Ling high school agreed to reform his school as a national type in exchange for plenty of subsidies and support, and therefore was accused by virtually the whole Chinese community of betraying the Chinese-based education. Several years after this reformation, almost every Chinese-based school was forced to reform as national types and those which can sustain the blows were referred to as “independent high schools” and were excluded from the official education organization of Malaysia. As a matter of fact, the reformation of Chung Ling high school played an important and historical role which triggered off a domino effect: a sequence of events such as the passing of Rahman Talib Report in 1960, and 43 Chinese secondary schools’ reforming as national types in 1962. Waung had, of course made argument in reply to criticism of his selling out Chinese-based education, nevertheless the whole disputation ended up with a Rashomon -- a situation that the truth, always elusive, is never established. From perspective of “the self-esteem of Chinese”, “the conspiracy of British colony government” and “the Student Demonstrate on November 23rd, 1956”respectively, the author shall in the thesis try puzzling out reasons that the Chung Ling high school reformed.

Thesis Summary: According to a monthly periodical, of June 1999, issued by Malaysian National Statistic Bureau, the population in Malaysia includes 22,711,900 people. Among these people, there is 24.6% of them being Chinese, when Malaysian 47%. The researchers in this particular field hence perceive that the population of Malaysian Chinese is declining year by year. However, it''s not likely that Malaysian Chinese would give up on Chinese education of their children. Therefore, the procuring of education resource, the future for Malaysian Chinese, and the ethnic conflict are the main issues that the native Malaysian and Malaysian Chinese need to work out together. Though for long many ethnic conflicts and struggles among varied ethnic groups broke out in the past, along with the progress of time these groups become assimilated with each other. Nowadays, most Malaysian Chinese have integrated with native Malaysian and gradually recognized Malaysia as their country. At the same time, Malaysian government started its new education policy, "One Language, One Source and Mohammedanization," in 1990. Furthermore in 1995, a new education bill was passed. It has blurred the boundary between different ethnic groups. Based on the above-mentioned facts, this thesis is to study the relationship between the independent education and the ethnic groups in Malaysia from three angles. First of all, the researcher expects, from the ethnic point of view, to understand the development of the independent education in Malaysia and its educational patterns for the students in the independent schools. The second, the researcher tries to understand whether the educational patterns have cast an impressive ethnic ego on these independent school students and make them hard to fit in other major ethnic groups. To well demonstrate the above-mentioned two points, a thorough understanding on how education bill and policy of Malaysian government influence the education of Malaysian Chinese is a necessity. Regarding the research methods, the researcher adopts two practices: one is to collect relevant data on Chinese education in Malaysia and to make detailed analysis; the other is to carry out interviews for understanding the current situation of the independent education, regarding its system, educational targets, and its relationship with other ethnic groups. To enhance better understanding of the development and change of the independent education, the interviewees include Chinese independent school students from of two generations. The issue of ethnic groups is still one of the main focuses in countries consisted of varied ethnic groups. How to gather all ethnic groups, and furthermore to create integration is an urgent matter of Malaysian government.

This research investigated the phenomenon of skill education in junior high schools and analyzed difficulties and problems that students of skill courses were facing. It is a quantitative research, surveying junior high school students in New Taipei Municipal Chung Ho Junior High School with the questionnaire titled “the factors of taking skill education courses.” The returned questionnaires were analyzed statistically for individual factors, family factors and school factors. A questionnaire survey was carried out in this study and the research subjects are 242. 229 questionnaires were returned and 226 of them were effective, hence the effective return rate was 93.38%. This study used statistical methods such as frequency distribution, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test, one-way ANOVA, and Chi square test to analyze research results. From the research we understand most of the students who take skill education skills are children of lower-educated parents. Also those students have lower learning achievements. The result of the research shows the following: 1. Individual factors: In course selection, students who select skill education have lower learning attitude performance, yet have higher willing on skill courses. 2. Family factors: Expectation of parent has impact on children. Every parent care about their children’s learning situation. 3. School factors: From the research we know the most important factor of taking skill education courses is the teachers’ expectation. Based on these findings, the research also offers some suggestions and recommendations for education administrators and future studies. With the special characteristics of geographical field study, this thesis offers a field teaching design which confronts to the present Grade 1-9 Curriculum of school-based pedagogy. It uses Kaohsiung Municipal Yen-cheng Junior High School as a case to materialize the school-based teaching design. Educational instruction is a dynamic circulatory system as it proceeds in circulation with curriculum design, practice, and evaluation and re-design. The process enhances instructional activities to meet the students’ needs. The essence of the Grade 1-9 Curriculum is to put the focus on school-based curriculum development and to attach significance to students’ lives. The geographical fieldwork is to draw the students’ views from the classroom to their surrounding environment, and to essential knowledge that is significant to their lives and learning experience. Therefore, the instructional method of fieldwork is beneficial for complementing school-based Grade 1-9 Curriculum development. Yen Cheng Junior High School was taken as a case study because of its location. With the abundant history and culture that is reflected by Love River, the reconstruction at its downstream riverbank and the measures for its polluted water carried out in recent years, the downstream area of Love River had become one of the significant scenic spots in Kaohsiung city. It hence shows a great value for educational instruction. As students’ sensuous experience was the base of the fieldwork, the field teaching design surrounds the Love River. Seven field teaching designs are made to signify students’ living experiences upon and around the Love River. Based on the results of the implementation of the teaching designs, the author argues that the complex factors behind students living and learning experiences should be studied deliberately. Before forming new geographical knowledge, students are guided to think, search, organize, present and discuss their living environments. The process was designed to develop the students’ learning potential. Moreover, some other skills are used to support students learning in the field, such as measuring the Love River water current and interviewing the elderly and tourists to strengthen students’ independent learning. Due to the unpredictable teaching situation in the field, certain degree of flexibility was kept for curriculum design and actual instruction to allow the original content of the instructional design to be adjusted appropriately. Besides, during this instructional activity, the students reviewed their living environment and expressed their astonishment to the discovery of new features from the old things, reflecting their success of the obtainment of new knowledge from this activity. On the other hand, the teaching results revealed that some students had developed more solicitude to the environment because of their better understanding of it.

The birth rate has been gradually declining around the world, and the situation in Taiwan is so serious that it has a profound impact on the primary and junior high school education. Besides the excessive number of teachers, the problem of vacant school space has arisen. Owing to the core educational functions of the school space provided for young learners, making good use of it is crucial to promote the campus activation and make the usage everlasting. Each school in Taiwan has to face the issue of the augmenting idle space since the classes of each school have been reduced in quantity year by year. If all the vacant space is thoroughly planned, the school will function prosperously. Now that the campus is not only the public space but also the property shared with the whole population of the country; using it in an effective way is of vital importance. If the school takes the comprehensive view of planning and reusing the space, putting the ideas into actions, the idle space can both become the new landmark and make the school evolve into a brand new appearance and bring out the best spiritual value of the building. The school can take the advantage of the transformation to provide the educational system with diversity and meet the demands of the users. After undergoing the transformation from the past to the present, we can achieve the goal of stunning creation. With the overall responsibility, we can make the idle space and teaching closely combined. Moreover, it will take care of the inhabitants of the neighborhood, which crosses the boundary of traditional school space usage and helps the school possess its own distinguishing characteristics. And promoting the usage of environmental resources can also considerably advance its economic effectiveness. In the study, the comprehensive analysis of the literature reviews was taken to the foundation of further investigation and interview research. According to the findings and analyses, we can explore some possibilities or using methods of the space on campus which is liable to become idle in Chung Ho Junior High School; the conclusions and several suggestions toward the issue are as below: 1. The community center for immigrant habitants: The space can be used to provide some lessons for the inhabitants who come from the Southeast Asia. In addition, not like the previous lessons that Taiwanese supply, we can invite them to be the teachers who have the ideal opportunities to share their talents. By showing how brilliant they are, the immigrant habitants will feel fully respected and make their dreams realized. 2. The club space: The government wants to have students find out their hidden talents and develop abiding interests, so nowadays junior high school students have many clubs to choose from. Some kinds of sports clubs are added to make students have much more choices. Now the vacant space can be rearranged to be a good place for all kinds of physical exercise, improving skill in competitions or performances, even the rehearsals of the dramas included. 3. Relocating the idle space: The idle space(Xinyi and Heping Building)that has been decorated and repaired for welcoming the neighboring elementary school students can be provided for these junior high school students who suffer heat and humidity in the unsuitable spots of the school(Zhuang - jing Building). After the elementary school students leave, those learners who study in the junior high can use the repaired building as their new classrooms. Meeting the demands of the students is the most important thing of all. Taking care of all the students at school is considered as good practice to keep our educational promise.

Dance teaching has very particular requirements for physical action. Teachers often spend a lot of time to do especially in the teaching guide while students have to spend more time to repeatedly practice. In the 4G mobile broadband era, information technology has become a trend in teaching. School dance lessons need a dance learning website to enhance teaching and learning. To overcome the limitations of time with space, this study constructed a web-based interactive multimedia curriculum learning website which provides dance teachers to edit or to record dance materials and student homework film reviews. Students can watch demonstration videos of teachers, but also through the website recording, delivering films and question discussion. Finally, we cooperated with a junior high school dance classes in Chiayi County to develop a dance learning website for teachers and students. We found significant improvement in student learning outcomes, and both the will of using the site and the learning motivation have increased to reach the goal of this study. We will import more subjects for teaching applications in the future.

During these years, the issue of environmental protection is becoming more and more important. All the products we use are designed to face this issue, thus the purpose of technology of environment-friendly material, energy conservation and substituted energy are reduced pollution and promoted the quality of living environment. The education of environment protection is spread in schools, and environment protection becomes the main reason of adding the facilities and equipment. T5 efficient illuminator is the main point of changing illuminator in many schools, because T5 efficient has stable luminous efficiency but more expensive so it’s not very common to use at home. This study is about discussing after school changing to T5 efficient illuminator the lighting environment, energy conservation, and the value of cognition of users and people are changing. Lots of literatures research of illuminators of energy conservation is about estimating electricity potency, and there are not many researches are about estimating the feeling of users and the using value. Using electricity potency to estimate the value of illuminator is not complete. Thus this study will discuss the illuminator potency, the cognition of users and the value of changing illuminator. The result of this study found out that before changing the illuminator in Chung-Hwua elementary school, the illumination of classrooms are not well. Adding illuminators and fluorescent tubes cannot increase the quality of illumination but increase the energy wasted. To reducing the electric use of schools by changing energy conservation illuminators is not very remarkable. In the 117 schools, there are only 50 schools reduced their electric use. After changing the illuminator, the satisfaction of students is satisfied. Only the light reflection of television is not satisfied. Students felt unsatisfied of turning light off in the daylight environment, therefore the lighting design of classroom is very important. Changing environment-friendly illuminator and return route switch design didn’t change a lot of the use custom of students. Only 27.6% of students would regulate the illuminator by daylight. The parents in Chung-Hwua county agree to increase NT147.2; and the common people there agree to increase NT67.6 to support government to change environment protection illuminator. In Chung-Hwua county, after calculation of the amount of price and the economize of power rate; about parents are 109.41 million, about the common people are 53.41 million, and total are 88.41 million. Only parents are over 92 million the amount of changing illuminator of government.

This article tries to investigate the life world of current senior high student based on the view point of time geography. Time geography thinks that human activity is a simultaneous interaction between time and space, its activity route is mainly affected by three limitations. In this study, the students in the school taught by the author are used as the research target, we try to investigate what time-space route is displayed by students in daily and non-daily time and in different spaces such as: campus, home and society and under three major limitations of time geography, we also try to find out what sense of place and place ballet are formed. Four data collecting methods are used in this study, for example, questionnaire survey, small diary, in-depth interview and participating observation. Besides, grounded theory is used to analyze the data, therefore, the life world of senior high school students built through the above mentioned methods has the following features: 1. The daily life world of senior high school student is closed and non-changed, the main space route is “Hone---school---home”. Moreover, the leisure activity within the campus is limited to “classroom” and “corridor”; the most staying place after school is the “bedroom”. 2. The holiday activities of senior high school students are diversified and display differences in terms of grade and gender. The life route of first and second grade senior high school student is more easy and diversified, however, the life route of a third grade senior high school student seems like a constant movement of “home---cram school/library”, there is fewer leisure time left. In the type of leisure activity, boy tends to choose basketball and computer game than girl. 3. No matter it is daily or non-daily time, the third grade senior high school students have their time-space route been compressed due to advanced study pressure, they put their focus on reading, watching TV is thus their major leisure activity. 4. In the daily life experience part, “classroom” and “bedroom” are the places favored by the students most and are the places where they feel they belong to most. 5. Generally speaking, the factors that affect the build of life world of a senior high school student include: grade, gender, how parents teach them, advanced study pressure, campus daily schedule, peer influence, among them, the advanced study pressure is the most important factor.

Elementary Japanese learners studying in Chung Shan Vocational &Commercial High School were selected as the main subjects in this research aimed at looking into the uses of learning strategies during Japanese loanwords learning. This study was divided into five chapters. The first chapter depicts the research backgrounds, motivations, participants and spectrums as well as the research methods. The second chapter, literature review, explores the related studies with respect to Japanese loanwords learning, and the classification of learning strategies. As far as the third chapter is concerned, it illustrates the constitution of the questionnaires and analytical methods, further elucidating the rough results of the investigation. The fourth chapter analyses the consequences of investigation, on which is elaborated afterwards. Considering the fifth chapter, it summaries the results of the study, bringing forth the conclusions. In addition, the researcher presents some disadvantages accounting for the aspects that this research cannot fully resolve to be the possible issues for further studies in the future. The purpose of this study aims to investigate the three major aspects: (1) What genres of learning strategies do vocational high school students taking Japanese as the second foreign language employ during the learning of Japanese loanwords? (2) Do Japanese proficiency as well as differences in grades have an influence on the use of learning strategies? (3) Are there any connection between the past English learning experience and Japanese loanwords learning? A total of 143 students are surveyed by capitalizing on the SILL proposed by Oxford (1989). Analyses are thereafter conducted by utilizing SPSS V22.0. The results of this research suggests that apart from “compensation strategies,” the types and frequencies of learning strategies that students with high academic performance use are upwards of those with low academic performance, particularly the fairly high frequency in the use of “metacognition.” Moreover, in terms of Statistics, there is no stark contrast on the frequency in the use of learning strategies among all the grades, stark contrast emerges when considering the difference in Japanese proficiency. Learning strategies are akin among the first graders; “metacognitive strategies” are applied by the second graders; aside from “metacognitive strategies,” advantage is taken of the “memory strategies” and “social strategies” to show the conspicuously higher frequencies students with high academic performance employ than the ones with low academic performance. Additionally, English grades are in positive proportion to both the Japanese grades and the learning strategies of Japanese loanwords learning. Results of this study are anticipated in being conducive as well as beneficial and becoming the references as regards the future Japanese education.

In this thesis, the interaction of art education between school and museum under the combined construction is investigated and we expect that it will lead to more possibility of diversification in recent education environment. We take Jan-Cheng Junior High School and Museum of Contemporary Art Taipei, the first combined construction in Taiwan, as a subject to investigate. We start with the survey of literatures in order to understand the progress of this combined construction and find out the drives that lead to the educational cooperation between school and museum in these years. On the other hand, we go into the fields and use participant observation assisted by interview and content analysis to construct related information. During investigation, four points are illustrated as follows: 1.What is the “driving force” leading to the cooperation between school and museum? 2.Which “platform” does the reaction be occurred on between school and museum? 3.What the “difficulties” is during the cooperation between school and museum? 4.How to build up long-term “education partners” relation of school and museum? In our investigation, we find that the basis of the crucial drive is the physical environment from the combined construction is essential for school and museum to go into the conversation platform with uninterrupted courses and meetings, and then solve problems of interaction with ways of conflict, negotiation and integration. Furthermore, the relationship of education partners is formed by teachers and museum educators by “upward communication” with continued dialogue, .knowledge transformation and cooperated group of specialized dialogue. So in this thesis, we suggest that if school and museum try to interact by this mode, first they will construct well interaction relationship in environment, and then think about methods of resource integration by interaction experiences in society. Finally, the “knowledge management” is used to deal with this distinctive interaction experiences in cultural environment, and we hope that the mode of the combined construction will be reserved and popularized.
