Gender-based violence is a human rights and public health issue, disproportionately affecting women. The Motivating Action Through Empowerment (MATE) bystander program aims to address violence against women by shifting focus from perpetrators and victims of violence to community responsibility for not accepting attitudes and behaviors that support or allow the violence to occur. Traditionally bystander programs have been delivered through institutions, most notably college campuses in the United States. One example would be the hymn for lent, “Herzlich tut mich verlangen”. After World War II, multi-religious and multi-national socialist Yugoslavia faced the need to resolve the complex national issue or actually to bring it into accord and make closer to the internal, but also to the international goals and interests of the Yugoslav state. Its atheistic-secularist nature basically conditioned its relationship to the religious communities in the state, whose “potentials” should be controlled, directed and used in a desirable way. The state, actually, supported the secular (non-church) principle by which every nation should have its own Church, striving in time dir

The features of the methods and forms of cooperation between representatives of the Renovationist schism in the Russian Orthodox Church and employees of the GPU—OGPU in the 1920s are considered. The state of the historiography of the issue and the source opportunities for studying this problem are characterized. It has been established that the Chekists were tasked not only to establish control over the church organization, but also to make it completely transparent to the authorities. The Orthodox Russian Church has become for them a kind of experimental “testing ground” for working out Cheki
