This article deals with the history of Dutch Reformation church in the German suburb near Moscow, where in March 1699, farewell with Lefort took place. This church was rebuilt in stone, with the money of the burgomaster of Amsterdam, Nicholas Witsen. In the honor of the donor, a memorial cas tiron board was hung on the church. The church burnt in 1812, and the community itself moved to the center of Moscow. The author could discover that the board was preserved and it was transferred into the new praying building. Individual churches run foodbanks, drop-in centres, baby and toddler groups, and a whole range of charitable activities. The diocesan archives of the Moscow diocese in 1812 were never the subject of a special study. Because of the wide spread of the church institution, the archives of the diocese often found themselves in the offensive zone of the Great Army. This circumstance made the documents of the church extremely vulnerable to the invaders. The events connected with the occupation of Moscow are widely reflected in the memoirs of eyewitnesses of the French stay in Moscow. Decades later, diocesan officials, with all the distortions of reality inherent in this type of memoirs, testify to the archive of the Co

This study aims to analyze the Presbyterian church governance system, focusing on its structure, advantages, and challenges encountered in decision-making processes. The Presbyterian governance system involves the election of elders from local churches who form a session, with the pastor holding equal authority as a member of the session. This session manages the local church’s activities, while elders are also part of a presbytery and a general assembly with broader authority. The involvement of the Churches in public education was radically altered by the Education (Scotland) Act 1872. This Act placed education firmly in the hands of elected school boards rather than churches and led to the handing over of many church schools. Only those of the Roman Catholic and Episcopal Church continued for a time outside the state system. This thesis argues that in Aberdeen the Churches were successful in introducing and in keeping the Bible and a general religious education along Presbyterian lines in the state schools, even although this very success led to a diminution in di
