Crimes in the sphere of housing can be divided into two groups: those committed at the stage of construction and those committed at the stage of building management. Crimes at the stage of construction are most often connected with unscrupulous developers who have accumulated money for equity construction and then have failed to build the house or put it into commission, which could be characterized as fraud. There are many crimes connected with the overestimation of construction costs, provision of false work completion statements, etc. Crimes of unscrupulous management companies in the spher

As in other sectors of the economy, the construction and operation of buildings are becoming increasingly technologically advanced. Different digital tools are used not only for design and construction planning but also for faster and more efficient communication in housing maintenance and management processes. These technologies can significantly speed up the flow of information, save time and money, and optimize decision-making. This way, the most sustainable solutions are chosen, which not only saves money but can also increase the value of the property. The aim of the study is to identify

This research explores the ways in which safety and emotion were drivers of evacuation for people residing in high-density inner-city housing in the Central Business District of Te Whanganui-a-Tara (Wellington) following the 2016 Kaikωura earthquake. Drawing predominantly on qualitative free-response answers from a survey of 803 people approximately one year after the Kaikωura earthquake, the study argues that ontological insecurity was a key driver of people's actions. Key themes identified in relation to ontological insecurity and emotional responses were the severity of the shaking and how

The design of domestic environments is fraught with decision-making, a process often dictated by fashion. The resulting inhabitation of domestic spaces blends the routine and the banal, with occasional forays into the extraordinary. The spaces of the domesticity range from single rooms to elaborate palaces. These can be functionally prescribed or open-ended, they support furniture, décor, behaviours, and narratives. The writer Georges Perec (1936–82) provides a way of looking at the domestic realm and ordinary life through his many inter-related writings on the subject. In his quest for an ‘an

The first translations of the New Testament into the Russian language, which were carried out at the beginning of the 19th century, are usually regarded as a missionary project. But the language of these translations may prove that they were addressed to a rather narrow audience. As is known, the Russian Bible Society established in 1812 began its activities not with translations into Russian but with the mass edition of the Church Slavonic text of the Bible. In other words, it was the Church Slavonic Bible that was initially taken as the “Russian” Bible. Such a perception correlated with the

Their successive interaction is important for various fields including urban planning, transport, intraurban migration studies, and social science. However, understanding of the long-term trajectories of workplace and home location, and the resulting commuting patterns, is still limited due to lack of year-to-year data tracking individual behavior. Memory enables the individual to perceive and sustain their past and existence of the person perceiving and gains meaning when it is associated with space. Religious minorities’ places of faith in Istanbul, Turkey, ensure the sustainability of memory and space.
