To create an adequate picture of the existence of the oral folk art of the Chuvash settlers, it is necessary to characterize individual microlocal traditions. Such traditions include song samples recorded from the Chuvash of the Krasnoyarsk Territory in the Bolshemurtinsky (1981 year of recording) and Kazachinsky (2009 year of recording) regions. This paper examines the embodiment of the theme of separation in the song texts recorded in 1951 and 2007 from the Chuvash settlers of the Kemerovo region. This theme is present in guest and recruit songs, in the songs of immigrants created in the process of forced resettlement of the Chuvash to new lands. In aphoristic short-plot songs, the theme of separation often manifests itself in the form of separate words and verbal turns – “signs” that point to it. The relevance of the study is due to the fact that in April 2024, 135 years passed since the birth of the teacher, collector of folklore, compiler of one of the first collections of Chuvash folk songs, officer of the Tsarist army P.V. Pazukhin. His life and work during the Soviet period are covered in many publications, but in some of them there are many obvious mistakes, myths (or legends) in favor of ideological leanings. There were no objective studies in the post-Soviet period. The purpose of the study is to trace some stages in life path made by P.V. Pazukhin based on reliable documents.
