Neste trabalho, alguns dos conceitos atribuídos à cidade, à comunidade e ao bairro pela literatura acadêmica e técnica foram analisados sob o duplo enfoque dos seus aspectos físicos e sociais. Para melhor entendimento do emprego dessa nomenclatura em algumas cidades projetadas, foram apresentados também os conceitos de cidade-satélite, Superquadra e Região Administrativa, largamente utilizados no plano urbanístico da cidade de Brasília (DF). A partir dessa revisão teórica, o processo de urbanização da região do Cruzeiro, no Distrito Federal, foi investigado à luz da leitura de seus projetos urbanísticos e da caracterização dos grupos sociais lá constituídos, tendo como data de partida o ano de 1959, e de término o ano de 2003. Dessa análise, foi possível identificar de que formas o processo de urbanização da região contribuiu para o seu entendimento como cidade, bairro ou comunidade - o que será útil para uma leitura apropriada do núcleo urbano, tanto para técnicos como para a comunidade, quando da realização de revisões em seu planejamento urbano, os chamados Planos Diretores. No caso do Cruzeiro (DF), percebeu-se que as relações sociais entre moradores terminaram por estabelecer grupos sociais homogêneos e/ou heterogêneos, nos quais o fator de união dos habitantes (que pode ser um sentimento, uma necessidade ou mesmo um modismo) está influenciado por variáveis como faixas de renda e níveis de escolaridade. Assim, foi caracterizada a construção de uma identidade coletiva a partir dos gostos, costumes e tradições desses grupos, que passaram a criar mecanismos de apropriação sócio-espacial e a estabelecer laços de comunidade - elementos tão caros à constituição de um lugar para se viver. ______________________________________________________________________________ ABSTRACT
This work analyses, in the light of social and physical matters, some of the concepts usually attributed by the technical and academic literature to such categories as “city”, “borough” and “community”. For a better understanding of the nomenclature applied to some projected cities, we also present the concepts of “satellite cities”, “Superblocks” and “administrative zone” – that are largely used in Brasilia’s urbanistic project. Starting from this theoretical revision, the urbanization process of Cruzeiro´s urban area (part of Brazil’s Federal District) has been investigated in the light of its urbanistical projects and social groups´ characterization. Our research, that ranges from 1959 to 2003, enables us to identify how Cruzeiro´s urbanization process determined its classification as a city, community or borough. Such knowledge, by the way, will help experts and laymen alike to have a proper view of that urban area’s traits in the course of future urban planning revisions. We also found that social relations formed homogeneous as well as heterogeneous social groups in Cruzeiro. Such groups, bound by common feelings, needs and trends, were also shaped by the several income bands and educational levels found amongst their components. From this social and cultural melting pot, a collective identity has been established around Cruzeiro´s social groups. Therefore, those groups started to develop patterns of social and spatial appropriation and to set up the communitarian ties that are so essential to the constitution of a suitable settlement.

This dissertation seeks to understand the newspaper The Moment, published in the city of Cruzeiro in 1933, as a space of struggle rail of the railroad south of Minas. Through the speech prepared by the workers' press site, aims to understand how the space is configured mobilized and organized these workers. The period delimited, this work is set in the year that the paper circulated by the railway line, 1933. In the first chapter the city will be revealed from what The Moment points, your look and your clippings of local reality, as he conceives the constitution of urban space. The second chapter will be based on a discussion about this press release, questioning it, from the possibilities that the newspaper offers, which themes that chooses as relevant, the reasons that led to its formation, which subjects revealed by its projects and their struggle as a class railway, which proposes the conflicting opinions. Anyway, how was the production of urban space in this newspaper and reciprocity established between both and what this meant for ideas go by the railroad tracksThe third and last chapter, it will stick in discussing this character, who devised and writes the paper, not in isolation and biographical way, but embedded within a context of struggle that constituted the rail across the country
Essa dissertação busca perceber o jornal O Momento, publicado na cidade de Cruzeiro no ano de 1933, como um espaço de luta dos ferroviários da Estrada de Ferro Sul de Minas. Por meio do discurso elaborado por essa imprensa operária local, visa compreender como esse espaço se configurou, mobilizou e organizou esses trabalhadores. O período delimitado, desse trabalho, se configura no ano que o jornal circulou pela linha férrea, 1933. No primeiro Capítulo a cidade será revelada a partir do que O Momento aponta, o seu olhar e seus recortes da realidade local, como ele concebe a constituição desse espaço urbano. O do segundo capítulo pautar-se-á numa discussão sobre essa imprensa, questionando-a, a partir das possibilidades que o jornal oferece, quais as temáticas que elege como relevantes, os motivos que levaram a sua formação, quais os sujeitos revelados por ele e seus projetos de luta, enquanto classe ferroviária, as opiniões conflitantes que propõe. Enfim, como se deu a produção desse jornal nesse espaço urbano e a reciprocidade que se estabelece entre ambos e o que significou esse percorrer de ideias pelos trilhos da ferrovia. O terceiro, e último capítulo, ater-se-á em discutir sobre essa personagem, que idealiza e redige o jornal, não de forma isolada e biográfica, mas inserida dentro de uma conjuntura de luta que constituiu os ferroviários de todo país

Full textEste estudo objetivou a análise da atividade de cruzeiros marítimos, inserida no setor de turismo, apresentando sua evolução, a situação atual e a temporada de 2010/2011 tendo como foco a cidade e o Porto de Santos, identificando ações e necessidades para uma maior inserção da cidade na atividade e assim permanência dos cruzeiristas. O estudo analisou a atividade de cruzeiro marítimo e o turismo regional, com foco na cidade e o porto de Santos, buscando compreender seu turismo receptivo, identificando a existência de um planejamento turístico integrado às estratégias públicas do município e do setor privado da região com relação à receptividade dos passageiros de cruzeiros. Inicialmente se conceitua o turismo, o turismo regional, o marketing de serviços, marketing turístico e a comunicação. O estudo é qualitativo e a metodologia composta por levantamento bibliográfico, pesquisa de campo, mediante a aplicação de um questionário previamente elaborado, e o contato por meio eletrônico (internet). Montaram-se dois grupos de interesse, totalizando 26 entrevistados nos qual se buscou levantar informações com relação à promoção do turismo regional e a comunicação das agências de turismo da cidade de São Paulo, resultante da atividade de cruzeiro. A análise revelou o cruzeiro marítimo como um produto que rapidamente se consolidou no Brasil e no principal porto de embarque e desembarque de passageiros, o porto de Santos. É indicativo dessa situação o prolongamento da temporada, o número crescente de roteiros, desenvolvimento de pacotes com maior atração e temáticos e a operação de navios maiores e mais modernos. Em relação à atividade de cruzeiros marítimos, a Prefeitura de Santos, tem buscado o desenvolvimento com parceiros de turismo da própria região. No entanto, constatou-se ausência de um trabalho mais efetivo junto às agências da cidade de São Paulo, com o propósito de atualizar e manter o contato e aproximação dos setores e atrações turísticos da cidade assim a diversificação e sua atuação que oferecem pacotes turísticos aos clientes de cruzeiros.

Full textThis thesis is based on the international context at a cognitive level, in which the History of the Brazilian Art was developed in the first centuries, under the influence of the Portugueses. It tries to identify the displaced interactive territorial process, but, due to the local contingency arrangements, new interpretations and adaptations became feasible. Starting from the 16th century, the artistic practice became increasingly stable in Colonial-Brazil, following the itinerary that found in the mentality and in the post-Renaissance man\'s knowledge the basis that would guide the centuries immediately on. Therefore, the Catholic Reform reflected the system ability, as it had become essential to social organization that, beginning from the link with the preexistent culture from the medieval period to the Renaissance, instituted the parameters that the renewed factors asked for. A model of society of Metaphysical-theological connotation was established, because of its hierarchic consequence, where the religious cult combined several aspects of its structure. In that respect we characterize the close relation between the \"ecclesia\" and the \"civitas\" due to the fact that the church and the city coordinated in substantially unitary way the diverse opposed regions of interest that by this reason become inseparable. The foundation of the City of Salvador, head of Brazil, represents a unique opportunity towards the understanding of a planned, accomplished context as a bridge connecting lands entirely strange to each other at that time. Thus, the first chapters look at the guidelines of the existing links between the \"ecclesia\" and the \"civitas\", in which technical matureness situates and reveals its means of to make something, always considering XII the sphere that this research aims: the determining factors of the altarpiece - the product of a religiousness already outlined in the time. In connection with the Portuguese State, the Church takes over besides that one the function of driving force element, concentrating on itself, with great magnitude and successive accomplished constructions, the materialization of the urban outline already conceived. Thus, it set an incentive scheme for professionalizing formation with the outstanding importance that the construction and decoration of the temples assumes. The theoretical-practical and religious thought formed an unitary corpus from the capacity resulting from the metropolis. The execution of the foundation project of the City of Salvador substantiates in the constructive problem the connection with the several aspects of the rudimentary character of the available means. The architecture, the urban conception and the altarpieces of the churches are constitutive of absorbed and adapted ideas, but they are linked together by the necessity to establish in the new overseas territory the headquarters of a scheme only achievable with the help of technical improvement, or with the transference of materials, like the wrought stone that would compound facades and portals. Many Portuguese artisans were transferred to Brazil. In the Franciscan ambience a real achiever school was created, also itinerant, to assist to the demand of the Order, particularly in the Northeast. Among the Jesuits, many of the artists in charge of the church of the School, in Salvador, learned their skillfulness in the Company. However, this learning had as starting point the imported workmanship and the fundamental contribution of specialists coming from the kingdom. In the sphere of the secular performance, we conclude that in the Iberian Peninsula highlights the valuation of the artist, later theorized in treatises by Leon Battista Alberti and Leonardo da Vinci, acquiring further impetus in the subject concerning the \"pre-eminence\" of the arts. But, XIII the artist being part of an elite, could never to do their work without the \"operative officials\" when one goes from the \"concept\" to the executive phase. The universe of the technical execution remains the same. The commandments stated by the Counter-Reformation became crucial in the mentality that guides the artistic creation; they have been continued with the exegetists and find out strict application in the \"First Constitutions of the Archbishopric of Bahia\". While all the formation of the constructive conscience has for direct reference the theoretical conceptions of the authors whose incidence it is decisive in the whole long analyzed period, justifying many of the aspects of the architecture and of the Baroque carving. Starting from bibliographical entries contained in \"Artistic Literature\", by Julius von Schlosser Magnino, we have been trying to provide a picture of the repercussion, from the XVI century, of the \"Measures of the Roman\", by Diego de Sagredo. With a series of norms not found in general in the texts nor evidenced by the ruins, in Italy as well as in the Iberian Peninsula, he arranged an outstanding treatise particularly among the mechanical officials. First published in Toledo, 1526, the work, as its full title already indicates, intends to be useful \"to anyone who wants to follow the formations of the bases, columns, capitels and other pieces of the old buildings\" - the norms of Sagredo would be, as we deduced, a help to the perplexed handmade world, that needs a link with the classic architecture that now diversely was articulated, innovating the vocabulary. Frequently the altars of the Baroque ambience are transition altars, therefore the morphologic explanation for such thing can not be fitted in a formal, predetermined outline in the succession of styles, as we tried to demonstrate. First, we chose deal with the altarpieces of the current Cathedral of the Sé, the old church of the School of the Jesuits, that documents the XIV evolution happened in the referred context. Thus, as the main altarpieces of the conventual church of San Francisco indicates, the Franciscan contribution and the Conceição of the Beach Church, for being a parochial church, represent the secular atmosphere of the religious fraternities. Here are some topics of the morphology of the altarpiece in Salvador: o the knowledge of the formal evolutionary courses and the adhesion procedures to new style; o the Jesuits and the evolution of the Portuguese-Brazilian carving art; o the mannerism pieces, standing out differentiating lines that mark the autonomy of the altarpiece; o the mannerism of geometric decoration and the one of naturaristic decoration; o the high altar of transition to the Baroque and the passage to the Portuguese national style in the lateral altars; o the counter-reformist architectural structure of unitary space and the inset of Baroque altars; o the King John altar and the influence of the Italian Baroque; o the \"whole gold church \" and the conciliation of the different phases of the Baroque; o the demonstration of the King John style and the King John altarpiece of Bahia.

Resumo: Este é um estudo de como a fotorreportagem constrói o acontecimento e como as relações entre texto e imagem sugerem diferentes sentidos para a natureza na revista O Cruzeiro (1928-1975). A partir da análise da composição da página (diagramação), considera-se o conjunto texto-imagem como elemento que encadeia a narrativa, agrega temporalidades e direciona formas de pensar sobre a natureza que reforçam a imagem da cidade como espaço do progresso. A natureza em fotorreportagem sugere um mundo moderno com o qual a revista deseja ser vista (em sintonia) pelo leitor
Abstract: This is a study about how the photo report about Nature in the magazine O Cruzeiro (1928-1975) shows an event and how the relations between text and image suggest different meanings for it. From the analysis of the composition of the page (diagramming), the joint text-image leads the narrative, adds temporalities, induces forms of thinking about Nature, and strengthens the image of the city as a space of progress. Nature in these photo reports suggests to the reader a modern world, in which the magazine itself aims to be included.

Full textThe goal of this research is to understand the cultural practices at play in the concentration and scattering of the cartorial and judicial documentation of the municipalities of São Paulo State Paraíba River Valley. The study is focused on the cities of Bananal, Cruzeiro, Lorena, São José do Barreiro and Silveiras, from which all the documentation originates. After being collected from sets of processes that were to be eliminated by judicial order, the documentation is currently under the custodianship of the Major Novaes Museum in Cruzeiro, São Paulo. Considering the various assessment and preventive measures taken since the 1970s, the research examines the various aspects pertaining to the conservation conditions of this cultural heritage documentation. Immaterial heritage issues are also taken into account in the discussion, framing such considerations under the light of the directives and common institutional practices, as well as the stories produced by the people that have had contact with the document collection. The dissertation also discusses the evolution of the academic production that has developed itself from research based on this documental legacy, thus bringing to light its importance as a scientific source for the revision of historical perspectives and its contributions for a wider understanding of society during the coffee production cycle. Taking into account its growing significance for relevant academic production, the research highlights the need to implement integrated preservation policies for this documental collection

Full textThe Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul cities, in the state of Acre, are two extreme examples of the deforestation of the Legal Amazon Forest. The first, capital of the state, has practically 60% of the local population and it is connected to the other regions of the country by two federal roads. This countie shows high levels of deforestation. The second example, isolated in the extreme west side of the state, has a very precarious transportation network. In this case, the deforestation levels are very low. In this context, this investigaton has as objectives: estimate the deforested area in the cities of Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul, between the years of 1985 and 2003; verify the periods of the highest increases of deforestation in the Rio Branco and Cruzeiro do Sul cities; compare the results of the two cities and, finally, analyse the results in face of the existence of major connection ways, towards understanding the influence of these roads in the differents processes of land occupation change in the two cities.

Full textThe present work is entitled “The search for equipment and proximity services in Bairro das Colinas do Cruzeiro, Odivelas - contributions to the construction of a healthy city” and aims to understand whether existing equipment and proximity services meet the needs of the resident population nowadays and in the near future. It was then necessary to identify and analyse the daily dynamics of the population regarding family structure, socio-professional characteristics, its consumption and leisure dynamics and the future perspectives of the population with regard to family dynamics, to determine the resident population's needs. In this context, in order to take this study, it was necessary to carry out research tasks, such as the collection and review of bibliography for the realization of the theoretical framework. It was also of utmost importance collecting and processing statistical information for the characterization of both the municipality of Odivelas and the neighborhood, as well as the analysis of the Urbanization Permit for Colinas do Cruzeiro. Finally, it urged to take a survey that allowed to characterize the profile of the resident population and understand their main needs and daily dynamics. Through this investigation it was possible to understand and identify the weaknesses of the neighborhood under study with regard to existing equipment and proximity services, especially those related to the environment (highlighting the need for greater cleaning at the street level and more green spaces)); more security; mobility, where emphasis should be placed on strengthening parking and public transport; more local commerce, where the need for more grocery stores, butchers, fish shops and the like is mentioned.
