Abstract:
In ISO printing standards, a color difference tolerance of ΔE*ab=5 is used as a threshold. But CIELAB color space is not uniform enough so that the same color difference value represents different color difference sensation in different color area. It is proved that the color difference calculated by CIEDE2000 is closer to the human sensation, so ISO TC130 is discussing the possibility of replacing CIELAB color difference by CIEDE2000. An experiment was conducted, in which the color difference of typical printing colors, CMYKRGB, was calculated and test. The experimental results showed that th

Combining the color difference formula of CIEDE2000 and the printing industry standard for visual verification, we present an objective color image quality assessment method correlated with subjective vision perception. An objective score conformed to subjective perception (OSCSP)Qwas proposed to directly reflect the subjective visual perception. In addition, we present a general method to calibrate correction factors of color difference formula under real experimental conditions. Our experiment results show that the present DE2000-based metric can be consistent with human visual system in gen

The bad degree of meat and the color change have a close relation. Computer vision is not under the influence of physiological and psychological factor of person; Appraisement standard is objective and steady. Therefore, computer vision system has been established, which can do collection, management, display, and appraisement of porky color. The CIEL*a*b* and CIEDE2000 color difference formula were introduced into the classification of pork, the result was identical. Because the calculation course of CIEDE2000 color difference is complex, so the CIE1976L*a*b* color difference is still adopted

In order to generate color test image consistent with human perception in aspect of saturation, lightness, and hue of image, we propose a saturation test image design method based on CIEDE2000 color difference formula. This method exploits the subjective saturation parameterC′ of CIEDE2000 to get a series of test images with different saturation but same lightness and hue. It is found experimentally that the vision perception has linear relationship with the saturation parameterC′. This kind of saturation test image has various applications, such as in the checking of color masking effect in v

Color difference used to test the quality of printing products is one of the most important factors in the printing industry. Many new color difference formulae such as CIEDE2000, CIEDE94, CMC(l:c) etc were developed to improve the uniformity. In this paper the color difference formulae have been compared throughout their weighting functions SL, SC, and SH to the CIELAB components , , . In order to test which color difference formula has the better performance in the printing industry they are evaluated by our own data sets. In order to eliminate the human eyes’ subjective differences in the level recognition of the jet fuel’s silver corrosion, chromatic aberration system is used to calculate chromatic aberration between the image of the standard colorimetric board and the experiment silver corrosion. By contrast, this paper chooses the least chromatic aberration to estimate the level of silver corrosion. The CIEDE2000 of the color difference formula, which can match with person vision theoretically, is applied in the chromatic aberration system at present, and can reflect the minor differences in color correctly.

First, we describe the chromatology and the establishment of the color difference standard such that we can understand the characteristic and intrinsic of the color. Second, we apply the color difference standard to LBG vector quantization algorithm. Because traditional LBG algorithm did not consider the human visual system, the color accuracy of the quantization can be improved by using CIEDE2000. Third, we extend the
