Full textThis research seeks to investigate the forms of representation of the Andean world in Peruvian fiction cinema in order to build an overview of this subject in the context of Peru's cultural diversity. The present study starts from the questioning of the representation of the Andean world in the Peruvian cinema, by identifying ideas, prejudices and stereotypes that are repeated. On the other hand, there is also a fictional cinema in which this representation becomes more complex. As part of the research design, the corpus of national fiction films in which the Andean world is represented is identified and, with this selection, experts on the subject are summoned to critically reflect on this representation. The discussion generated is based on the theory of the construction of the other (indigenous, poor, woman, child, old man) as a subordinate in fiction cinema.

Full textThe following qualitative research intends to analyze some representations of the "armed internal conflict" in Peru. These representations were abstracted from two of the first films that came out and dealt with that topic; one film being a production from Lima, the other from Ayacucho. The films were treated as dynamic constructions, which lit up several topics. We focused on the following three: (1) the conflict with the paternal figure and its authority and protective roles, (2) the uncanny experience (the terror experiencing a threat in the encounter with spaces and figures which conventionally would be considered as safe and familiar), and (3) the internal functioning of some groups involved in the conflict. It is our view, that both films imply a representation of the "armed internal conflict" which is based on splitting. However, they open up, at the same time, the possibility for a symbolic reparation. The analysis of the two films was made within the psychoanalytic theoretical framework.

Rodriguez, Chug Estefano Enrique. "La representación de la masculinidad desde la figura del seductor en las comedias del cine peruano." Bachelor's thesis, Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas (UPC), 2020. http://hdl.handle.net/10757/655162.
Full textIn this research work, the representation of masculinity in the role of the seducer will be analyzed by two Peruvian film comedies: “Como en el cine” (2015) and “Macho peruano que se respeta” (2015). Through a study with a qualitative approach and a content analysis research technique, we will proceed to examine the construction of the main characters, who embody the figure of the seducer. The figure of the seducer is understood as a recurring archetype that seeks constant love affairs along with a series of affective dilemmas that lead to deception or flight by, popularly called, the Donjuán. Specifically, the profile of the main characters , the self-representation and the power relationships they used with other characters, will be reviewed. It will be found that the construction of the main characters in the analyzed films is not only based on a hegemonic masculinity, but there are variants in which types of masculinity are manifested that escape the stereotype. The main contribution of this work lies in the use of two instruments that allow a correct analysis of scenes and characters for the execution of a correct study on representations in audiovisual fiction.

Full textThe research study presented in this document is to analyze the representation of the migration from the countryside to the city in peruvian fiction cinema y from the perspective of film directors and specialists in the field. Migration is a important phenomenon in our peruvian culture and it´s our duty to understand the reality of migrants from the countryside to the city. However, there isn´t a relevant number of cinematographic evidence that deepens this topic without resorting to the same standardized stereotypes in our environment, diminishing their history. In this study, I will analyze the films that have exposed the universe of migration and how they have exemplified the construction of space and the migrant character. These will be the subject of debate by contemporary Peruvian film directors who will generate an opinion based on their own films and experiences. In addition, specialists in the field will explain why they´re isn´t interest on the subject of migration in peruvian fiction cinema based on their own research. The corpus of this set of films will symbolize evidence of the importance of including this subject in our cinema and the poor representation of the migrant character in our country.

Full textNowadays, Peruvian cinema has experienced significant growth and comedy films are the ones that have had the mostly watched by the public, since they use a burlesque tone to express complex concepts of society. However, although they are ways of ironically showing various events in social life, often they can become a form of reproducing stereotypical representations that become habituated in social interactions. Under this logic, the main objective of this work is to analyze and understand the gender and class stereotypes with which women of the “upper class” are represented, specifically, in Peruvian films. We will take as a case study three contemporary films of the comedy genre: "Asu Mare", "Intercambiadas" and "No Me Digas Solterona". In order to carry out the study, it is proposed to use a qualitative methodology, particularly focused on the analysis of film content. After the future application of this research technique, it is expected to know if these representations, indeed, reflect the woman with the highest GDP of Lima.

Full textFilm music is an art form present in movies for a long time, from blockbusters to experimental cinema. Just as there are classic movies that have transcended generations due to its major success, there are also legendary soundtracks that have made the experience of watching a movie even better. Along the years (since Don Juan in 1926, first movie with synchronized music), composing music for movies has developed grandly and also, it’s techniques. Just like cinema, there is another form of entertainment that already has several years active and grows stronger everyday: videogames. They share the same objectives with movies which are to entertain, communicate a message, tell a story. Each of them has its own ways, but there is an element in common and its music. Here, it has almost the same functions as in cinema, and therefore one may ask: Can I write music for videogames using the methods for composing music for cinema? Is this approach present in the peruvian context? This research aims to demonstrate that these statements are true.

Full textThis qualitative study analyzes how cultural capital influences the development of the filmography of regional filmmakers in Peru. It was investigated how cultural capital, specifically that from educational institutions, facilitates or limits access to the making of films that receive national and international recognition by filmmakers born in the regions of Peru, with the exception of the metropolitan capital, Lima. The information obtained was given through six participants through semi-structured interviews. Among them are film directors who have made short or feature films and have participated in training spaces outside their regions of birth. The results show that the cultural capital obtained as a result of higher education and training related to the cinematographic field constitute both possibilities and barriers for the development of filmography. Likewise, it was found that there are different experiences in accessing institutionalized cultural capital that conditions the different opportunities for recognition throughout their filmography.

Full textThis qualitative research seeks to analyze, explain and describe the role of costume design in the peruvian cinematographic field in the last five years. Film productions in Peru in recent years have won awards for best screenplay, best feature film and best actress; competing with great international premieres such as “Roma” and “The Irishman”. Even with these awards, it was found that within the cinematographic field the role of costumes in a staging is not yet outstanding. For this reason, it has been considered to carry out a study on the films awarded by the Peruvian Association of Cinematographic Press (APRECI) from 2015 to the present. Likewise, the need to give more importance to costume design in peruvian cinema is highlighted, therefore costume design will be defined as visual support in cinema. In addition, it will be known about costume designers in the contemporary peruvian context, since very few are dedicated as professionals in this field of fashion in Peru. Also, with these peruvian productions the role of costume design in the selected films will be analyzed, as well as how the message of costume design is handled within peruvian cinema. Finally, it is considered that this research aims to promote and inform fashion students, fashion professionals, and film viewers in Peru about the costume design specialization, since it is not well known in the country.
