Iron(III) tetraphenylporphyrin chloride, Fe(TPP)Cl , efficiently catalyzed the insertion of carbenes derived from methyl 2-phenyldiazoacetates into O-H bonds of aliphatic and aromatic alcohols, with yields generally above 80%. Although the analogous N-H insertions are rapid at room temperature, the O-H insertion reactions are slower and required heating in refluxing methylene chloride for about 8 hours using 1.0 mol.% catalyst. Fe(TPP)Cl was also found to be effective for tandem N-H insertion/cyclization reactions when 1,2-diamines and 1,2-alcoholamines were treated with diazo reagents to give

Abstract Objective: To evaluate the effect of cortical bone thickness on the maximum insertion and removal torque of different types of self-drilling mini-screws and to determine if torque depends on the screw design. Materials and Methods: Three different types of self-drilling mini-screws (cylindrical type [Cl], taper type [Ta], taper type [Tb]) were inserted with the use of a driving torque tester at a constant speed of 3 rotations per minute. Experimental bone blocks with different cortical bone thicknesses were used as specimens. Results: Differences in the cortical bone thickness had lit

ABSTRACTThe mitochondrial inner membrane contains a unique phospholipid known as cardiolipin (CL), which stabilises the protein complexes embedded in the membrane and supports its overall structure. Recent evidence indicates that the mitochondrial ribosome may associate with the inner membrane to facilitate co-translational insertion of the hydrophobic oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS) proteins into the inner membrane. We generated three mutant knockout cell lines for the CL biosynthesis gene Crls1 to investigate the effects of CL loss on mitochondrial protein synthesis. Reduced CL levels cau

The insertion reactions of the germylenoid H2GeLiF with RH (R = Cl, SH , PH2) were studied for the first time by using the DFT B3LYP and QCISD methods. The geometries of the stationary points on the potential energy surfaces of the reactions were optimized at the B3LYP/6-311+G (d,p) level of theory. The calculated results indicated that the mechanisms of the insertion reactions of H2GeLiF with HCl , H2S , and PH3are identical to each other. Abstract NACE TM0177 Method D (DCB) test allows the determination of the critical stress intensity factor KISSC, below which the propagation of a sulfide stress crack in the material is stopped. For a given severity of the sour medium (pH, PH2S, T, [Cl-]…), KISSC is not a material constant since it depends for instance on the testing arm displacement. Recently, the Klimit concept was proposed to circumvent this issue. Klimit is a conservative KISSC value and would be more representative of the material corrosion resistance. Measuring temperature inside PEMFCs is necessary for proper water management, because water vapor pressure is a strong function of temperature. In this paper, we have developed thin film thermocouple (TFTC) array to measure temperature distributions near the Cathode Catalyst layer (CCL) with a resolution smaller than the rib-channel scale. The sensor array was placed between CL and gas diffusion layer (GDL) at the cathode. No performance decrement was observed with the insertion of TFTC array. Proton exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are useful systems because they operate at lower temperatures than other types of fuel cells. This characteristic causes water management issues. This sensor was placed between the catalyst layer (CL) and the microporous layer (MPL) at the cathode. Slight effects on total cell performance were observed with the insertion of the sensor. It is important to estimate the corrosion of reinforcing steel in mortar facilities, because the nuclear plants are located near the sea side. In the case of environmental factors in mortar, the Cl ion concentration and pH were monitored by inserting microelectrodes into artificial pores in the mortar. At the same time, the corrosion behavior of the reinforcing steel was investigated by EIS (electrochemical impedance spectroscopy). In the EIS measurements of the reinforcing steel, diffusion behavior was confirmed in the initial period, but diffusion could no longer be observed after 35 day. In
