Abstract:
We introduce poly-symplectic extension of Souriau Lie groups thermodynamics based on higher-order model of statistical physics introduced by Ingarden. This extended model could be used for small data analytics and machine learning on Lie groups. Souriau geometric theory of heat is well adapted to describe density of probability (maximum entropy Gibbs density) of data living on groups or on homogeneous manifolds. For small data analytics (rarified gases, sparse statistical surveys, …), the density of maximum entropy should consider higher order moments constraints (Gibbs density is not only defined by first moment but fluctuations request 2nd order and higher moments) as introduced by Ingarden. We use a poly-sympletic model introduced by Christian Günther, replacing the symplectic form by a vector-valued form. The poly-symplectic approach generalizes the Noether theorem, the existence of moment mappings, the Lie algebra structure of the space of currents, the (non-)equivariant cohomology and the classification of G-homogeneous systems. The formalism is covariant, i.e., no special coordinates or coordinate systems on the parameter space are used to construct the Hamiltonian equations. We underline the contextures of these models, and the process to build these generic structures. We also introduce a more synthetic Koszul definition of Fisher Metric, based on the Souriau model, that we name Souriau-Fisher metric. This Lie groups thermodynamics is the bedrock for Lie group machine learning providing a full covariant maximum entropy Gibbs density based on representation theory (symplectic structure of coadjoint orbits for Souriau non-equivariant model associated to a class of co-homology).

Abstract:
In this paper necessary and sufficient conditions are given for quasianalytic function classes D({Mk}) and the corresponding classes of distributions D′({Mk}) to be invariant with respect to the diffusion group Ut where −∞<t<∞. In addition, the properties of hyperdistributions [Formula: see text] are studied, where δ0 denotes the δ-function at 0. It is shown that hyperdistributions Γ from the class D′({Mk}) are completely characterized by the rate of decay of the moments μk(Γ) = Γ(xk), k≥0.

AbstractThe chapter presents an application of Scenic-Narrative Microanalysis (SNMA) to a videotaped conflict situation in a Berlin primary school. The analysis is limited to the presented video material, not involving any additional information. SNMA uses the video spectators’ reactions as a tool to identify significant moments (Now Moments or Moments of Meeting as defined by Daniel Stern) in the video and to find a consensual hypothesis on the presumed group dynamics of class and teacher that can be linked to the field of attention research in school pedagogy. Necessary adaptations of the SNMA method to documentary video material are discussed.

Abstract:
The dynamics of quantum expectation values is considered in a geometric setting. First, expectation values of the canonical observables are shown to be equivariant momentum maps for the action of the Heisenberg group on quantum states. Then, the Hamiltonian structure of Ehrenfest’s theorem is shown to be Lie–Poisson for a semidirect-product Lie group, named the Ehrenfest group . The underlying Poisson structure produces classical and quantum mechanics as special limit cases. In addition, quantum dynamics is expressed in the frame of the expectation values, in which the latter undergo canonical Hamiltonian motion. In the case of Gaussian states, expectation values dynamics couples to second-order moments, which also enjoy a momentum map structure. Eventually, Gaussian states are shown to possess a Lie–Poisson structure associated with another semidirect-product group, which is called the Jacobi group. This structure produces the energy-conserving variant of a class of Gaussian moment models that have previously appeared in the chemical physics literature.

Abstract:
Purpose Extant research has painted a clear picture of the myriad ways that schools are failing to provide a meaningful education, and meaningful literacy pedagogies, to all youth. Given this crisis shouldered disproportionately by youth of color in urban schools, this paper aims to take a retrospective approach to understanding the lasting reverberations of a high school poetry class on a group of students who experienced urban traumas including but not limited to educational injustices. In contrast to the representations of failing schools, some current research offers various portraits of urban students engaging in empowering ways in classrooms that make critical use of media arts, poetry and hip hop. The questions driving this study are based on what happens once students step out of these alternative classroom spaces. For youth who have dropped out of the traditional system, what was the nature of the writing they produced in an alternative literacy learning space and what relationship did it have to their development as young adults? Design/methodology/approach Using qualitative case study methodology, this paper explores the memorable writing produced in the context of a high school poetry class by six case study participants to understand its meaning in their lives over time. It is through a dialogic lens that this research makes sense of the relationship between the written words produced by these youth, their actions in and on the world in their early adulthood, and their moments of development as survivors of trauma and as civic actors. Findings Student discussion of what I describe as touchstone poems revealed how these poems functioned to reorganize experiences and memories for the case study participants that enabled them to feel increased agency in relation to their personal and socio-cultural struggles. Originality/value For these students who were perpetually labeled as at-risk, poetry class served as a space where they could collectively engage in positive risk-taking that held meaning in their lives after high school and catalyzed the development of agentive identities.

Abstract:
The isothermal section of the phase diagram of Tb–Fe–C system at 800 °C was studied in the full concentration range using powder X-ray phase and structure analyses, and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy. Six ternary compounds Tb1.88Fe14C, Tb13Fe10C13, TbFeC2, Tb15Fe8C25, Tb5.64Fe2C9, Tb2FeC4 and a limited solid solubility of carbon in the crystal structure of the binary parent compound Tb2Fe17Cх (0≤ х ≤0.8) have been found to exist at 800 °C. The crystal structures of two new ternary carbides have been determined by means of powder X-ray diffraction: Tb15Fe8C25 with structure type Er15Fe8C25, space group P321, a = 11.9706(3) Å, c = 5.1733(2) Å, RB(I) = 0.07, RP = 0.06, RPw = 0.08, and Tb13Fe10C13 with structure type Gd13Fe10C13, space group P3121, a = 9.1800(9) Å, c = 23.703(5) Å, RB(I) = 0.04, RP = 0.16. Both compounds are representatives of the carbometalate class of complex carbides. Tb15Fe8C25 displays an itinerant ferro-or ferrimagnetic ordering of the Fe 3d-moments below TM ≈ 50 K while Tb 4f-moments remain essentially paramagnetic at least down to about 10 K.

Abstract:
ABSTRACTWhilst the middle class are often heralded as forerunners for consolidating democracy, the experiences of Kikuyu in Kenya's 2013 election reveal how under-problematised the socio-economic group is for understanding the pressures faced in voting. The article presents evidence from diary entries of young middle class Kikuyu residing in Nairobi who recorded their feelings and impressions across a period of one month surrounding the country's elections. The diary writers describe the key moments at which they felt the need to switch from supporting third-placed presidential hopefuls to supporting one of the two favourites. Topics felt to pressure voters most keenly were ethnicity, social media, debate surrounding the International Criminal Court and the lack of confidence in others of the middle class. Unlike election analyses which assume static preferences and voting blocks, this methodology allows exploration of the ongoing negotiations and deliberations that influence voting intentions over time. The tensions felt by middle class Kikuyu during the election period made them wish they were members of either of the two other classes, who were in turn viewed as able to influence politics through money or popular power. These feelings of disempowerment ensured voting attitudes fell closely in line with ethnic affiliations, despite members of the middle class remaining wholly dissatisfied with ethnic labelling throughout. It is argued that the economic autonomy of middle class voters did not help disengage them from political tribalism in assessing how to vote.

Abstract:
Abstract Objective: Pregnancy serves as an opportune time for “teachable moments” to elicit positive behavior change. We evaluated change in exercise perception, behavior and gestational weight gain in participants engaged in a one-hour educational experience. Methods: Women between 28 0/7 to 36 6/7 weeks with no prior yoga experience carrying a non-anomalous singleton fetus participated in a randomized controlled trial on prenatal yoga. The yoga group engaged in a one-hour yoga class; the attention control educational group, in a one-hour presentation on exercise, nutrition and obesity in pregnancy. Maternal perception of yoga, exercise effects and current health status was conducted before and after the intervention. Gestational weight gain (GWG) and body mass index (BMI) were assessed. A postpartum survey was performed to determine self-reported behavioral changes during and after pregnancy. Results: Over 6 months, 52 women were randomized and 46 (88%) completed the study. Women reported a more positive attitude towards exercise and yoga after the yoga intervention. Total GWG was similar (yoga 32.9 versus education 32.8 pounds, p = 0.98). Stratified by pre-pregnancy BMI, 13% gained within and 61% gained above the Institute of Medicine guidelines in each group. Of 29 inactive women prior to the intervention, 60% of the yoga group and 75% of the education group began prenatal exercises after the intervention and 50% of each group continued to exercise after delivery. There were no significant differences between groups. Conclusion: A one-time, one-hour intervention teaching a new exercise or educating women during pregnancy can positively impact pregnancy behaviors and perception with the potential to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes. Bronfenbrenner’s bioecological systems theory serves as a lens in understanding the teacher’s efforts to build a culture respectful of each individual child, the group as it formed, and class’s identity in the broader learning community. The seemingly simple story is considered through the concept of rich normality, which recognizes the potential of everyday moments and experiences.

Abstract:
A stand-level growth and yield model was developed to predict future diameter at breast height (dbh) distributions of thinned stands of mixed Appalachian hardwoods. The model allows prediction by species group and dbh class. Stand attributes (basal area per unit area, trees per unit area, minimum stand dbh, and arithmetic mean dbh) were projected through time for the whole stand and for individual species groups. Future dbh distributions were obtained using the three-parameter Weibull probability density function and a variation of the parameter recovery method. The recovery method used employed the first two noncentral moments of dbh (arithmetic mean dbh and quadratic mean dbh2) to generate Weibull parameters. Future dbh distributions were generated for the whole stand and every species group but one; the diameter distribution for the remaining species group was obtained by subtraction.

Abstract:
Two-fluid modeling approach is considered as one of the most practical and accurate macroscopic formulation of handling bubbly flow systems. Nevertheless, in order to rigorously account for bubble-bubble interactions, the population balance equation (PBE) must be solved alongside with the continuity and momentum balance equations. Class method typified by the MUltiple SIze Group (MUSIG) model appears to be one of the most direct methods to solve the PBE using a finite series of discrete classes. In this paper, an alternative approach based on the direct quadrature method of moments (DQMOM) is investigated. In contrast to MUSIG model which requires a large number of classes to resolve the bubble distribution, the main advantage of DQMOM is that the number of moments to be solved is generally very small. Validation and assessment of the two population balance models are carried out against measurements of vertical bubbly flows for a range of flow conditions. Based on the present study, preliminary computed results have been found to compare very well against the experimental data as well as the numerical results predicted through the MUSIG model.

Abstract:
This paper focuses on theoretical understanding of the contradictions of vested interests and the underdevelopment in the peripheral social formations; having as its raison d'être, to explore the possible ways by which the vested interests of a particular social group or class has contributed in shaping the underdevelopment of the periphery in the global economy –with inferences from a sub-Saharan African country, Nigeria (with empirical-based evidences); and moving forward, to find ways to counteract or mitigate these contradictions for the amelioration of the human condition in the periphery. Thus, the paper achieves its objectives by adopting a qualitative descriptive method of analysis, investigating the contradictions of the vested interests of both the neo-colonial elite in the Periphery and the capitalists of the Center (advanced capitalist nations), with an admixture of "Dependency Perspective" in its exploration. A theoretical framework, Marxian Ideology, was employed to help for a better epistemic understanding of the dynamics of vested interests aided by helpful extrapolations in its analysis. In the final analysis, the paper made some findings. A few of these include, 1) that the ruling class of the peripheral nations, especially in Africa (typically, Nigeria) has the culture of diverting national wealth for own personal interest. 2) That every moment of domination precipitates moments of resistance by the subjugated class, hence revolutions and instability are endemic in any polity fraught with vested interests of the dominant class. 3) That the peripheral nations have remained underdeveloped due to the selfish interests of both the peripheral ruling class (the puppets of the capitalist of the Center) and the advanced capitalist nations. The paper therefore recommends: that the peripheral social formations should pursue serious independent policies of social justice along egalitarian lines as well as economic and political self-reliance –e.g. state incentives for local industrialists and integrating and strengthening the domestic productive base to attain a self-reliant articulated economy. 2) There is need for total commitment to democratic ethos or permissiveness including popular-empowerment in every aspect for the amelioration of the human condition; among others. Abstract:
After the implementation of complete credit system, colleges gradually lead the class students to individualization, which is consistent with the characteristics of individualization in the Internet age. And the trend of “Internet community” constructed by Internet, from the earlier micro-blog to the current WeChat group or Moments, also provides us with new ideas on how to carry out values education for "individualized" college students under the complete credit system. The promotion of complete credit system in colleges and the trend of the "Internet community" enable colleges to effectively carry out values education of college students through a new way. Hence, colleges should, on one hand, pay more attention to the implicit education, understand and master the dissemination rules of the network platform, as well as utilize the new carrier of values education innovatively. On the other hand, colleges are also encouraged to construct the "Internet community" type education mode from the three dimensions of perfecting the community structure, adjusting the group mentality and emphasizing the guidance of public opinion.

Abstract:
<p class="1Body">The equations for pair distribution functions are used to derive the multimoment hydrodynamics equations for gas mixture. The gas mixture pair distribution functions are specified. The equations for pair functions are derived directly from the general statistical mechanics concepts. The basic property of the pair functions is established. In conformity with basic property, these functions remain unchanged in time along the trajectory of the center of inertia of a pair. The basic property of the pair distribution functions reveals the existence of an infinite number of principle hydrodynamic values. Multimoment hydrodynamics equations are constructed using 3L+4 principle hydrodynamic values, where is the number of gas mixture components. Just these principle values specify measurable moments. The measurable moments are represented by linear combination of principle and non-principle hydrodynamic values. The general structure of constructed multimoment conservation laws is identical to the structure of appropriate multimoment conservation laws in a gas of identical particles. Each of the multimoment conservation laws is divided into two separate equations. The first group of conservation equations corresponds to convective phenomena. The second group of conservation equations corresponds to dissipative phenomena. Derived multimoment hydrodynamics equations are designed for interpreting the behavior of unstable systems. As is shown previously, classic hydrodynamics equations are incapable of reproducing flows after they lose stability. That is, the solutions to the classic hydrodynamics equations do not find the direction of instability development correctly. The possibility of improvement of classic hydrodynamics equations for a gas mixture is sought on the way toward an increase in the number of principle hydrodynamic values.</p>

Abstract:
Recently, situated willingness to communicate (WTC) has received increasing research attention in addition to traditional quantitative studies of trait-like WTC. This article is an addition to the former but unique in two ways. First, it investigates both trait and state WTC in a classroom context and explores ways to combine the two to reach a fuller understanding of why second language (L2) learners choose (or avoid) communication at given moments. Second, it investigates the communication behavior of individuals and of the group they constitute as nested systems, with the group as context for individual performance. An interventional study was conducted in a class for English as a foreign language (EFL) with 21 students in a Japanese university. During discussion sessions in English over a semester in which Initiation–Response–Feedback (IRF) patterns were avoided to encourage students to initiate communication, qualitative data based on observations, student self-reflections, and interviews and scale-based data on trait anxiety and WTC were collected. The analyses, which focused on three selected participants, revealed how differences in the frequency of self-initiated turns emerged through the interplay of enduring characteristics, including personality and proficiency, and contextual influences such as other students’ reactions and group-level talk–silence patterns.

Full text
Abstract:
A database was constructed of tree-anchorage measurements from almost 2000 trees from 12 conifer species that were mechanically overturned on 34 sites in the United Kingdom between 1960 and 2000. Anchorage was compared among species, soil groups (freely-draining mineral, gleyed mineral, peaty mineral, and deep peat) and root depth classes (shallow, <40 cm; medium, 40–80 cm; and deep, >80 cm) using regressions of critical turning moment against stem mass. Sitka spruce (Picea sitchensis (Bong.) Carr.) was used as a benchmark because it formed the largest part of the database and was the only species with all soil-group and depth-class combinations. Anchorage of Sitka spruce was strongest on peat and poorest on gleyed mineral soils. Deep rooting increased critical turning moments by 10%–15% compared with trees of equivalent mass with shallower roots. Significantly better anchorage than Sitka spruce was found for grand fir (Abies grandis (Dougl. ex D. Don) Lindl.), with various rooting depths on freely draining and gleyed mineral soils and for Douglas-fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii (Mirb.) Franco) on medium-depth mineral soil. Lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta Dougl. ex Loud.) had poorer anchorage than Sitka spruce over a range of soil groups and root depth classes. Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) on shallow gleyed mineral soil, and Corsican pine (Pinus nigra subsp. laricio (Poir.) Maire) on medium depth mineral soil, also had poorer anchorage. Other combinations had similar anchorage to the equivalent Sitka spruce. These results are discussed with respect to the development of forest wind-risk models.

Abstract:
Introduction. In the mid-90s, as a result of the language policies adopted in Europe to improve the language skills of its citizens, a new approach to language learning emerged, this was named, Content Integrated Learning and Foreign Languages (CLIL). With the same vision, within the changes made in its educational policy, since 2016 Ecuador implements this approach in its foreign language curriculum. Objective. The objective of this work was to provide evidence on the effectiveness of Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL) in the acquisition of reading competence compared to the traditional learning of English as a foreign language (EFL) in the first year of Bachillerato at Unidad Educativa Riobamba. Methodology. The study was carried out based on a quantitative method, quasi experimental design and it was applied in two moments: pre and post- test. In order to determine the statistical differences in the reading comprehension process between the two groups of students, CLIL reading texts were applied to a population of 60 students, which 30 students represented the control group and all the other remaining students were the experimental group. The control group was evaluated after using the textbook as the only class teaching material and, the experimental group, was evaluated after receiving CLIL classes using its corresponding materials. Results. The results indicated that students in the experimental group showed at the end of the project, a significant development in reading comprehension and vocabulary. Conclusion. Therefore, through this research it was determined that the use of CLIL texts directly influenced the development of reading comprehension and requires teachers to start using this approach.

Abstract:
The aim of this work is to think about how technologies can have a role in motivation for learning. To respond to the necessary paradigm shift school faces, resulting from a different way of life in very recent past, the use of technology proves to be a powerful ally, ensuring student’s ability to respond to technical and scientific questions as well as creating an environment of trust and security in classroom. Considering that we are at a critical turning point in technological evolution and changes seem irreversible. What new challenges does the teacher also face in this field? To understand what makes the activity and the class remarkable for students, we are using semi-structured interview, focus group and questionnaire. Methods and technics used in the classes were diversified, and according to the intended goal. The use of these methods was not conditioned by technology but by the defined learning goals. Although this work is still beginning and needs to be continued, the results show that technology helps students to feel confident since it doesn’t expose individual (un)knowledge, allows them to learn with pleasure, generates group dynamics and globally, creates happy moments that increase motivation and improve learning. Results show us that it is imperative to realize how much the teacher as an important integrative agent mediating between the real/virtual, technological/scientific, curriculum/skill, cognitive/emotional worlds.

Abstract Multiple myeloma (MM) causes great impact in quality of life (Q/L), since patients become dependant of others even for routine activity execution and personal care. Objectives: To characterize the impact of MM in the Q/L of patients treated in two public institutions of Sao Paulo State, Brazil, using a generic (SF-36) and a specific questionnaire for oncologic patient (QLQ-C30), applied in three different moments: at diagnosis, after the end of clinical treatment and at day +100 after autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplant (ASCT). Patients and methods: From March 2006 to August 2007 we evaluated 49 patients with MM, using the two questionnaires. Analysis was made through ANOVA, Post hoc and T-paired test comparing the three groups. Results: 88.6% of included patients have family budget lower than US$ 600.00/month (Economic Class C, D or E). The generic questionnaire SF-36 demonstrated that Physical Functioning, Role-Physical and Bodily Pain were statistically different in all three groups, favoring the day +100 post-ASCT group (ANOVA). SF-36 still demonstrated improvement in Role-Emotional when MM post treatment group was compared with the day + 100 post-ASCT group (T-paired Test). The QLQ-C30 questionnaire confirmed what had been demonstrated by the SF-36 in relation to the Physical Functioning and Bodily Pain plus improvement in the following aspects: Role Functioning, Fatigue, Lack of Appetite and Constipation, favoring the day + 100 post-ASCT group (ANOVA). QLQ-C30 also detected a significant improvement in Social Aspect in patients with MM after day +100 of ASCT. Conclusion: The specific questionnaire for cancer patients QLQ-C30 seems to be more informative than the generic questionnaire SF-36 and reflects the real benefit of ASCT in Q/L of MM patients from two public Brazilian institutions, which provide assistance for economically challenged population.

Abstract:
Abstract This essay, which is part of a larger book project, reflects my interest in rethinking concepts of Black modernity and speculating on its possible manifestations in different forms at different historical moments. Specifically, I posit the emergence of an urban Black modernity in US northern cities during the antebellum era. I begin by mapping a literary history of urban modernity in periodical culture over a span of 150 years. I examine its origins in Richard Steele’s Tatler (1709–11) and Joseph Addison and Steele’s Spectator (1711–12), which detail the rise of modern London and its new middle-class subjects, whose conspicuous consumption demanded the regulation of taste, deemed a crucial marker of modernity. This urban modernity is then reconfigured across the Atlantic in New York, specifically in Washington Irving’s Letters of Jonathan Oldstyle, Gent (1802) and Salmagundi (1807–08), which anatomize the behaviors of New York’s social elite. I then elucidate how a group of Black New York correspondents to Frederick Douglass’ Paper (1852–55)—notably James McCune Smith, William J. Wilson, and Philip Bell—take up and repurpose such representations of urban modernity to define the taste of the city’s Black urbanites and meet their intellectual, social, and political needs at mid-century.

Abstract:
Background: Cardiopulmonary arrest (CPA) is a severe public health problem and a leading cause of death worldwide. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), basic life support (BLS) is the bedrock for improving people's survival after a cardiac arrest, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation is crucial. Through scientific evidence, empowering health professionals focuses on education in resuscitation is vital to identify and attend a CPA victim. In Brazil, there is a lack of data that evaluates the BLS knowledge of health science students. This study analyzed the knowledge retention of medicine, nursing, and physiotherapy students after one year of having a lecture-demonstration on BLS. Method: Longitudinal study. Undergraduate students of health science participated in the data collection and answered a questionnaire based on BLS following AHA guidelines. Data were collected during two consecutive years, in three different moments (an assessment, a test after a lecture, and an assessment test one year later). Results: The group improved its score after the class on BLS; the number of correct answers doubled (p <0.001); however, one year later, that score decreased significantly (p <0.001). Conclusion: No retention of knowledge in health sciences students after a year of a lecture-demonstration on BLS.

Abstract:
This essay interrogates the motives of eighteenth-century European naturalists to alternately show and hide their laboring-class fossil suppliers. Focusing on rare moments of heightened visibility, I ask why gentlemen naturalists occasionally, deliberately, and even performatively made visible the marginalized science workers on whom they crucially depended but more typically ignored or effaced. Comparing archival fragments from elite works of natural history across a considerable stretch of time and space, including Italy, France, Switzerland, Britain, Ireland, Germany, Spain, and French, Spanish, and British America, this essay sketches the contours of a disparate group of people I term ‘earth workers’: laborers of very low social rank, such as quarrymen, shepherds, ditch-diggers, and fieldworkers, whose daily labor in and on the earth enabled the discovery of subterranean specimens. At the same time, archival traces of laboring lives ultimately reveal more about the naturalists who created them than they do about the marginalized laborers whose lives they faintly record. Cultural norms of elite masculinity and scholarly self-presentation in the Republic of Letters help us to understand why some eighteenth-century naturalists felt they had to publicly disavow a form of labor that would come to be recognized as a crucial and skilled part of scientific fieldwork in the modern era. Compared to other kinds of invisible labor that historians of science have brought into view, the social meaning of earth work rendered it uniquely visible in some ways and uniquely invisible in others.

Abstract:
In this study we explore the didactic potential of educational robotics for the construction of an interdisciplinary project for teaching Physics and teaching Mathematics, in the context of basic education. It is an account of interdisciplinary experience in which, through the pedagogy of projects, the use of robots in the construction of timed traffic lights (one for pedestrians and one for cars) was evidenced. This proposal involved students from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of high school, aged between 13 and 18 years, from the State School Álvaro Paes, located in the city of Coité do Nóia-AL. The project emerged from the initiative of teachers of Physics and Mathematics, in conjunction with the Robotics Group of the State Network of Alagoas, and in this sense took the concept of kinematics. The activities were developed on Saturdays during the academic year of 2017. It was evident, from this experience, that the contextualization of the classes through robotics projects, make the classes motivating, since the students were involved with the possibility of creating, from the concepts of Physics and Mathematics, in the moments, involving and bringing the subjects closer to a scientific practice. As an educational product, an article was prepared with an account of the practice of a robotics project developed in the classroom. Initially, the training of work teams for the construction and development of tasks in class was carried out. Then the students participated in robotics classes, understanding its fundamentals and its application within the disciplines of Physics and Mathematics, introducing the subject of traffic lights for the Traffic Light.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT We investigate the stellar and dynamical mass profiles in the centres of 25 brightest cluster galaxies (BCGs) at redshifts of 0.05 ≤ z ≤ 0.30. Our spectroscopy enables us to robustly measure the Gauss–Hermite higher order velocity moments h3 and h4, which we compare to measurements for massive early-type galaxies, and central group galaxies. We measure positive central values for h4 for all the BCGs. We derive the stellar mass-to-light ratio ($\Upsilon _{\star \rm DYN}$), and velocity anisotropy (β) based on a multi-Gaussian expansion (MGE) and axisymmetric Jeans Anisotropic Methods (cylindrically and spherically aligned). We explicitly include a dark matter halo mass component, which is constrained by weak gravitational lensing measurements for these clusters. We find a strong correlation between anisotropy and velocity dispersion profile slope, with rising velocity dispersion profiles corresponding to tangential anisotropy and decreasing velocity dispersion profiles corresponding to radial anisotropy. The rising velocity dispersion profiles can also indicate a significant contribution from the intracluster light (ICL) to the total light (in projection) in the centre of the galaxy. For a small number of BCGs with rising velocity dispersion profiles, a variable stellar mass-to-light ratio can also account for the profile shape, instead of tangential anisotropy or a significant ICL contribution. We note that, for some BCGs, a variable βz(r) (from radial to tangential anisotropy) can improve the model fit to the observed kinematic profiles. The observed diversity in these properties illustrates that BCGs are not the homogeneous class of objects they are often assumed to be.

Abstract:
The following case study was conducted in 2014 in the Department of Didactics of the Institute for English Language and Literature at the Freie Universität Berlin. It was conceived as a preliminary investigation for an ongoing qualitative research project called The Experience of Theatrical Performance in EFL Teacher Education. The purpose of this larger project is to study the effects of the experience of theatrical performance (i.e. live performance before an audience) on EFL teachers-in-training. For this preliminary study, qualitative data were obtained from a group of seven undergraduate English Education students in conjunction with a course focused on the use of creative writing in the EFL classroom. As part of the course work, the students produced a small number of original creative texts in traditional literary genres: a personal essay, two short stories (using 1st and 3rd person point-of-view), a poem and a short play. Each student also kept a Course Journal, in which he or she wrote daily in-class creative writing exercises as well as critical and personal reflections. The course ended with a Public Reading: the students presented their creative work before an audience comprised of peers, faculty, and members of the general public. The following paper considers in particular the students' personal reflections both before and after this Public Reading. What emerges is a coherent emotional and cognitive trajectory, determined in all of its moments by the theatrical event (as future, present, and past experience) of performing original creative work before a live audience. Because the investigation was conducted by a participant in the course (i.e. the teacher himself, a native English speaker born in the United States), the report also includes thick description of the intersubjective and intercultural contexts of the study, as well as ethnographic reflections on its limitations.

Abstract:
The rare-earth metals have high magnetic moments and a diverse range of magnetic structures. However, due to the inner-transition nature of lanthanide elements, the valence f orbitals of their trivalent cations usually do not mix substantially with the ligands' orbitals in the chemical compounds. The majority of lanthanide compounds is thus characterized by a rather ionic metal–ligand bonding and is hosting only weak crystal field effects. Several exceptions known encompass the valence fluctuation systems consisting of Sm, Ey, Tm or Yb combined with less electronegative nonmetal ligands (Si, S, Se, B etc.) or metals (Murani 2003 and references therein). This important class of lanthanide compounds for which crystal field effects are strong includes the classical systems: Yb3Si5 (Iandelli et al., 1979), YbB12 (Altshuler et al., 1998), and Yb3H8 (Drulis et al., 1999) . Even elemental Yb and Eu metals show valence transition at elevated pressure from di- to trivalent (Takemura & Syassen, 1985). These valence fluctuations are typically accompanied by electric resistivity changes: Ln(2+) → Ln(3+) + e–. Lanthanide borohydrides, Ln(BH4)3, constitute a rather poorly explored and novel group of compounds (Olsen et al., 2014). They are conveniently prepared via mechanochemical synthesis approach (high-energy milling). Quasi-ternary alkali metal-lanthanide borohydrides, MLn(BH4)4, are also available using this synthetic procedure (Wegner et al., 2013 [1] & Wegner et al., 2014 [2]). Here we explore for the first time the magnetic properties of Ln(BH4)3 and MLn(BH4)4 compounds, with particular emphasis on the thermally unstable systems (Ln= Sm, Yb and Eu) as contrasted with the reference case of much more thermally stable derivatives of ordinary lanthanides (Ln = Ho). We show that remarkably strong mixing of Ln(4f) and H(1s) states which causes thermal instability: Ln(3+) + BH4–→ Ln(2+) + BH4· leads in some cases to strong magnetic superexchange interactions between Ln(3+) centers [3].

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to examine the little-known in the Ukrainian historiography moments of the Hungarian-Soviet relations, which have been linked with a critical perception of the economic reform in Hungary in 1968 by the Soviet Union Communist Party. Following the crackdown on the Prague Spring, Hungary remained the only one among member countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance, which continued to reform the economy for higher living standards in 1969–1972. It evokes a negative reaction of the SUCP leadership, which J. Kádár could not ignore. One of the indirect consequences of the Kremlin demands to stop the economic reform was the “philosophers’s process” 1973. The paper considers the Hungarian Socialist Worker’s Party’s response to ideological criticism of the Hungarian scientists conserning philosophical foundations of socialism in general and the political consequences of its implementation in particular. It provides the evaluation of HSWP analysts on key provisions of leading representatives of the Budapest school of philosophy: G. Márkus, A. Heller, M. Vajda, sociologist A. Hegedüs. In these papers argued that don’t exist authentic marxism, socialist revolution is not led to radical changes in the forms of social life, so there were no revolutions, revolutionary nature of the working class and the labor movement in socialist countries were questionable, socialism is not built, however modernization was implemented. This article demonstrates the nature of the personal position of J. Kádár, whish consists of balance between the demands of the Kremlin and the needs of Hungarian social development. It was found that the future leaders of the urban opposition group J. Kis and G. Bence were among philosophers, who were expelled from the HSWP or subjected to administrative pressure. It was their first conflict with the state power, which promoted awareness of the need of conversion into opposition activity. Article first time in Ukrainian historiography gives a complete picture of the conditions under which formed critical views of the scientific community in Hungary to socialism. The Hungarian archival materials unknown by this time were used.

Abstract:
This study focuses on: whether there is an effect of small group work learning strategies on thematic learning outcomes and how much influence small group work learning strategies have on thematic learning outcomes of class V SDNU Bangil students. This research method uses quantitative correlation with data collation techniques through questionnaires, observations, interviews, and documentation and data analysis using product moment correlation statistics. From the results of this study indicate that the learning strategy of small group work on thematic learning outcomes of class V SDNU Bangil students has no effect that before the small group work learning strategy was carried out, 30% grade V students did not achieve the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), while after 32% implementation of small group work learning strategies that did not reach the KKM. As the results of the data analysis obtained that first, there is no effect of small group work learning strategies on thematic learning outcomes of class V SDNU Bangil students, this is evidenced by the value of statistical data results which show that "r" work (ie 0.26) is more the size of the "r" product moment table where N = 28 in the 95% confidence interval is 0.374 and in the 99% confidence interval a value of 0.478 is obtained, it can be said that there is no influence between variable X and variable Y. Thus the working hypothesis the writer used stated that there was no effect of small group work learning strategies on thematic learning outcomes of class V SDNU Bangil students "not accepted". Second, the influence of small group work learning strategies on thematic learning outcomes of class V SDNU Bangil students is low. This is evidenced by the results of statistical data analysis which shows that the "r" of work is 0.26 in the coefficient interval 0.20 - 0.399.

Abstract:
Abstract The growth of Mormonism in England in the middle of the nineteenth century presented a number of challenges relating to the cultural status of the new religion and its followers. Charles Dickens’s “uncommercial traveller” sketch describing a group of 800 Mormon converts preparing to emigrate to the United States, “Bound for the Great Salt Lake,” represents the challenge effectively. While Mormons were quickly identified by their heresies and by those qualities that characterized cultural and religious otherness, they were also observed to possess traits of Englishness, reflecting the image of a healthy working class. This article considers the tensions among these contradictory qualities and traces them to a middle-class “secular gospel” that Dickens articulates in his novels. Dickens utilizes this “gospel”—an ethic that valorizes work and domestic order as bearing religious significance—to perceive the followers of the new religion.

The canonical symplectic structure on the cotangent bundle T*G of a Lie group, whose algebra gc admits a central extension gc, is modified so that the moment map associated to right translations generates a representation of gc. Zero moment map constraints are applied to a class of Hamiltonian systems on T*G that are not necessarily right invariant to yield reduced systems on coadjoint orbits in gc*. The Hamiltonian formulation of the WZW model is developed as an example in which G = LG0 is a loop group and the reduced space is the group of based loops ΩG0, identified as a coadjoint orbit of the affine Kac–Moody algebra [Formula: see text]. An extension of the geometric quantization method leads to representations of [Formula: see text] on Hilbert spaces of sections of holomorphic vector bundles over ΩG0.

Abstract:
This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Group Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy approach in reducing learning burnout experienced by students due to irrational thoughts. This research is a quantitative analysis that uses the method of Quasi-Experiment through the design of The Non-Equivalent Control Group. The subjects in this study were class VIII-1 students as the experimental group and class VIII-8 students as the control group. The instrument used is a learning burnout scale with the validity of 0.273 (Pearson Product Moment) and reliability of 0.936 (Alpha Cronbach). Data analysis was conducted using nonparametric statistics with the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test and Kolmogorov-Smirnov 2 Independent Samples. The results of this study show that the REBT approach in a group setting is effective for reducing student learning burnout. This can be seen from the score of student learning burnout in the experimental group, which experienced a greater and more significant decline than the control group.

Abstract:
The density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) method has established itself over the last decade as the leading method for the simulation of the statics and dynamics of one-dimensional strongly correlated quantum lattice systems. The DMRG is a method that shares features of a renormalization group procedure (which here generates a flow in the space of reduced density operators) and of a variational method that operates on a highly interesting class of quantum states, so-called matrix product states (MPSs). The DMRG method is presented here entirely in the MPS language. While the DMRG generally fails in larger two-dimensional systems, the MPS picture suggests a straightforward generalization to higher dimensions in the framework of tensor network states. The resulting algorithms, however, suffer from difficulties absent in one dimension, apart from a much more unfavourable efficiency, such that their ultimate success remains far from clear at the moment.

This paper discusses an algorithmic way of constructing integrable evolution equations based on Lie algebraic structure. We derive, in a pedagogical style, a large class of two-component peakon type dual systems from their two-component soliton equations counter part. We study the essential aspects of Hamiltonian flows on coadjoint orbits of the centrally extended semidirect product group [Formula: see text] to give a systematic derivation of the dual counter parts of various two-component of integrable systems, viz., the dispersive water wave equation, the Kaup–Boussinesq system and the Broer–Kaup system, using moment of inertia operators method and the (frozen) Lie–Poisson structure. This paper essentially gives Lie algebraic explanation of Olver–Rosenau's paper [31].

Abstract:
Abstract: In the 20th century, a number of authors engaged with the creation of a new conceptual framework to interpret love from a political perspective. They interpreted it as a political feeling and questioned the practice of relegating it to the private and intimate dimensions. In this article, light is shed on a foundational moment in the definition of this conceptual framework, looking first at Alexandra Kollontai’s reflections and then introducing Shulamith Firestone’s take on love, as the expression of a first theoretical turn. This initial subversión had a great impact on the forms in which the subsequent feminist generations theorised a political economy of love in the context of women’s struggles to become political subjects themselves and fight for their own emancipation.Through an analysis of Kollontai’s Largo all’Eros alato! and Shulamith Firestone’s The Dialectic of Sex, both linked to materialist traditions, we identify the role that, according to the authors, love – as a political feeling – plays in women’s struggle for freedom. These first intuitions have been particularly fruitful in framing feminist contemporary approaches to “romantic love” (Illouz, Esteban, Herrera). In Kollontai’s and Firestone’s texts, love is presented as an emotional and psychic pivot upon which patriarchal domination is founded and consolidated in bourgeois-capitalist societies. Nevertheless, Kollontai argues that love also has to be understood as a psycho-social feeling with a great potential to promote emancipatory relationships for women. These two perspectives also reveal the complex role that love plays in contemporary feminist reflection and the profound transformation that emerged, between the 1920s and the 1960s, in the forms in which women were represented as a specific group in a class society (Kollontai) or as a class per se under patriarchy (Firestone).Key words: Love, Materialist Feminism, Kollontai, Firestone, Class.
