This article analyzes the early records of Mission San Gabriel to conclude that the missionaries replaced native identities with new categories of gentile and neophyte, based on religious criteria, and blurred the racial-social distinctions brought by the colonizers from Mexico into one California frontier class, the gente de razón, based on their roles in colonization and their adherence to Catholicism. The consequences can be measured in the 1769 explorers’ depictions of Indigenous, in native resistance, and most clearly in the mission register of baptisms, confirmations, and marriages. Chri

The Hölder classes L p α ( L ) L_p^{\alpha } (L) in the L p ( L ) L_p(L) norm on a chord-arc curve L L in R 3 \mathbb {R}^3 are defined and direct and inverse approximation theorems are proved for functions from these classes by functions harmonic in a neighborhood of the curve. The approximation is estimated in the L p ( L ) L^p(L) norm, the direct theorem is proved for a certain subclass of L p α ( L ) L^\alpha _p(L) and the inverse theorem covers the entire Hölder class.

The material was used to quantify the little owl’s relative prey abundance using MNI (minimum number of individuals), a taphonomical unit. This study is the first to examine the diet of the little owl in the Peloponnese (southern Greece). After examining 3,691 isolated skeletal and exoskeletal remains from the processed pellets, a to

In order to improve the quality, EEIC introduced Italian technology of reeling in Bengal in 1769, though Bengal sericulture was unable to adapt the technology. Bengal economy was goi

The Social Class Worldview Model (SCWM; Liu, 2011) is a recent phenomenological framework, in which social class is understood based on experiences of acculturation, identity, and stress, as opposed to a narrow view of access to resources. Based on this model, people's experiences of social class discrimination (i.e., classism) are an integral part of how they make meaning of their social class. The current study addresses the development and initial validation of the Perceived Classism Questionnaire (PCQ), a scale of distress due to classist experiences. The Transfer Model (TM) constitutes a specific class of linear programming problems that addresses situations where goods are transported from sources (such as factories) to destinations (such as warehouses). This method combines fuzzy logic and genetic algorithms to enhance the design process. Goals are normalized using a multi-objective fuzzy method, enabling adjustment to function as a factor of the final objective function.
