Abstract:
The use of language primarily displays succession, not simultaneity. It is common for people to talk at the same time or interrupt each other, but this is reduced to cases of succession. Vedic ritual involves not only succession but also simultaneities that are structural.1 In the “Soma swelling” rite, many priests recite two groups of mantras, A and B. First, one priest recites A while touching the bundle of Soma stalks. He then steps aside and recites B without touching Soma. At the same time, the next priest recites A and touches Soma. The result is that A and B are recited simultaneously but Soma is touched once by only one priest at a time. Other structural simultaneities may be attributed to a “horror of gaps.” A separate class are stage directions. A final comment is made on multifunctionality in space, a parallel to the temporal concept of simultaneity.

Abstract:
Contemporary scholars struggling to keep their work politically meaningful and efficacious often, with the best of intentions, invoke the triad of race, gender and class. But though this three-part mantra is persistently and even passionately recited, usually in the introductory paragraphs of a scholarly piece, ‘attentive listening,’ as historian Douglas M. Peers asserts, ‘reveals that class is sounded with little more than a whisper’ (825). Unlike the other two, class largely remains an under-explored and, consequently, little understood category of experience and inquiry. I can say with certainty that this is true in my own field of postcolonial studies, with its sub-discipline of colonial discourse analysis. In part because of the politically justifiable emphasis on race in postcolonial research and theory (and only later, through feminist insistence, was that emphasis broadened to include gender), we have yet to develop as sustained, various, and subtle a critique of class as that which now exists for race and gender.

Abstract:
Quran as holy book for Muslim consists of many rules which are needed to be considered in reading Quran verse properly. If the recitation does not meet all of those rules, the meaning of Quran verse recited will be different with its origins. Intensive learning is needed to be able to do correct recitation. However, the limitation of teachers and time to study Quran verse recitation together in a class could be an obstacle in Quran recitation learning. In order to minimize the obstacle and to ease the learning process we implement speech recognition techniques based on Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) features and Gaussian Mixture Model (GMM) modeling, we have successfully designed and developed Quran verse recitation learning software in prototype stage. This software is interactive multimedia software which has many features for learning flexibility and effectiveness. This paper explains the developing of speech recognition system for Quran learning software which is built with the ability to perform evaluation and correction in Quran recitation. In this paper, the authors present clearly the built and tested prototype of the system based on experiment data.

Abstract:
One of the goals is to provide early reading learning for elementary / MI children in the lower classes, namely classes 1, 2 and 3. The learning process especially reads at MI Al-Hikmah Purwodadi, who still uses the manual method by spelling with letters that students already know making students a little confused because they don't really understand the letters of the alphabet. Most of the students of Al-Hikmah Purwodadi were mostly recited at the TPA so that the students understood the hijaiyah letters more than the letters of the alphabet. Many students face difficulties in reading the beginning because of the background of students who are not from kindergarten graduates. As a solution to provide convenience for students who read the beginning and for MI Al-Hikmah Purwodadi teachers to simplify the learning process by using motivational and interesting methods and media to learn to read the beginning. In this service the method used is the iqra method. The results and benefits of service are increasing reading interest in MI Al Hikmah Purwodadi students, increasing knowledge and understanding of 1st grade students of MI Al-Hikmah Purwodadi in reading, increasing reading skills in class 1 MI Al-Hikmah Purwodadi. Abstract:
AbstractWe investigate feature selection methods for machine learning approaches in sentiment analysis. More specifically, we use data from the cooking platform Epicurious and attempt to predict ratings for recipes based on user reviews. In machine learning approaches to such tasks, it is a common approach to use word or part-of-speech n-grams. This results in a large set of features, out of which only a small subset may be good indicators for the sentiment. One of the questions we investigate concerns the extension of feature selection methods from a binary classification setting to a multi-class problem. We show that an inherently multi-class approach, multi-class information gain, outperforms ensembles of binary methods. We also investigate how to mitigate the effects of extreme skewing in our data set by making our features more robust and by using review and recipe sampling. We show that over-sampling is the best method for boosting performance on the minority classes, but it also results in a severe drop in overall accuracy of at least 6 per cent points.

Speaking is a language skill that is used as a medium of daily communication. The ability to speak is one of the ability to communicate to convey various ideas, messages, intentions and opinions to others. Speaking is the most effective form of communication, its use is the most extensive and most important. The ability to speak in the Department of Japanese Language Education FPBS UPI is covered in courses shokyukaiwa 1 and 2, chukyukaiwa 1 and 2, chujokyukaiwa 1 and 2, for 6 semesters. Kaiwa lectures in each class is a large class followed by about 26-30 students. Thus a variety of learning techniques can maximize the ability to speak Japanese is needed. Kourourenshuu (練習 練習) is one of the learning techniques to improve the speaking skills directly from the teacher and repeated and recited in accordance with the taught phrase. Hearing, reciting, questioning and role play are activities undertaken to practice basic level speaking skills. This paper discusses the learning subjects shokyu kaiwa 1 and 2 which is held in the Department of Japanese Language Education FPBS UPI. In accordance with what is proposed by Iskandarwassid and Sunendar (2015: 286) the basic level of speaking in the subject shokyukaiwa 1 and 2 aims for the learner to pronounce the sounds of language, can convey information, express or disagree, explain identity, retell The results simultaneously, express respect and role play. Learning is done by various learning techniques such as repeating speech (text conversation), see power point, interview (interviews), and one-party conversation (conveying interview information), and role play (speaking training with learner idea). Based on the observations during the lectures, the learner actively engages in communication as well as the ability to initiate and present ideas when playing a very positive role.

AbstractTwo kinds of sources are available to the historian to reconstruct the first centuries of the history of Mithradates' antidote: biographical information on Mithradates' interests in medicine, and a series of recipes. In this paper I argue that we cannot reconstruct the original recipe of Mithridatium from our existing sources. Instead, I examine how the Romans remodelled the history of the King's death and used the royal name to create a "Roman" drug. This drug enjoyed a huge popularity in the first centuries of the Roman Empire. An Emperor, Marcus Aurelius, consumed it as well as members of the upper class; and many highly literate physicians recommended it notwithstanding the medical sect they were belonging to. With all its expensive ingredients, and its claim to work as a panacea, Mithridatium responded to a real demand in a Roman Empire at its commercial and political apogee.

Abstract:

Abstract:
The article discusses one of the most ancient and unique customs in Jewish liturgy — the hand movements that accompany the Torah recital ritual in the Yemenite Jewish tradition. They are usually perceived as connected to the melody path of the recital: as a technique for its memorization and performance. For the first time, these movements and the technique of their performance are being recorded, classified and described in a systematic scholar way, particularly in terms of anthropokinesics and task dynamics. Their connection is discussed to other elements and techniques of the ritual. The gestures have been studied in two major frameworks: Torah learning in a children’s religious class, and Torah recital in the synagogue. The article argues that the recital gestures function as a kind of body technique, whose cultural, symbolic, aesthetic and psycho-dynamic significance reaches much farther than memorization of the recital melody.

Abstract:
Reconstituted Living Skin Equivalent™ (LSE™) is made up of a dermal equivalent (DE) on which keratinocytes are plated where they give rise to a multilayered differentiated epidermis. The dermal equivalent develops through interactions between fibroblasts and collagen fibrils that begin to form after the cell-matrix precursor is cast. The gel that forms as a result of collagen polymerization and fluid trapping is contracted uniformly in all dimensions. By securing it at ends and edges in the mold in which it is cast, the final dimensions, strength and morphology of the forming tissue are altered. The same phenomena are seen in casting tubular tissues for the fabrication of small caliber blood vessel equivalents. The cells of the dermal equivalent are biosynthetically active and enrich the matrix to different degrees with secretory products, depending on how the cells are stimulated and on the presence or absence of an epidermis. Collagen biosynthesis by dermal cells in the DE is sensitive to growth factors, ascorbate concentrations and amino acid pools. Both ascorbate and TGFβ1 increase total collagen biosynthesis at least two-fold by one week after tissue formation. With TGFβ1 present, the capacity of cells in the DE to synthesize collagen increases with time, over a two-week period. If ascorbate (200 μg/ml) is added just after the tissue is cast and daily thereafter, contraction lattice is blocked, and collagen biosynthesis is enhanced relative to contracted controls that had received 200 μg/ml ascorbate once. The increase was nearly an order of magnitude over that of controls and was coordinate with a comparable increase in hyaluronate and sulfated glycosaminoglycan (GAG) production as shown by TCA-precipitable glucosamine in the intercellular matrix of the DE. Both the LSE and the Living Dermal Equivalent™ (LDE™) exhibit complex responses to UV radiation and to various chemicals that are greatly different from responses given by monolayered cells. In general, threshold doses are elevated by one or more orders of magnitude for the tissues as compared with cells in monolayer, with the LSE exhibiting higher thresholds than the DE. The immunogenicity of the human LSE has been tested in vitro. Its cells are shown to be unable to stimulate a response in a mixed lymphocyte reaction (MLR) even after Class II antigens are induced by exposure to cytokines. The basis for the immunologic neutrality of the LSE can be referred to the absence of immune system (IS) cells normally present in skin and to the specific antigenic profiles of nonimmune system (NIS) cells that must be different from those of IS cells and which, even after Class II induction, are not allostimulatory. The generality of immunologic neutrality is an essential consideration in the fabrication of tissue and organ equivalents for grafting. The idea that it can be made a graft property has been formalized in the Neutral Allograft Hypothesis.

Abstract:
From “heathens’ cakes” to “pig’s ears”: tracing a food’s journey across cultures, centuries and cookbooks It is intriguing from the perspective of food history to find in 19th and 20th century Estonian recipe collections the same foods – that is, foods sharing the same names – found back in European cookbooks of the 14th and 15th centuries. It is noteworthy that they have survived this long, and invites a closer study of the phenomenon. For example, 16th century sources contain a record about the frying of heathen cakes, a kind of fritter, in Estonia. A dish by the same name is also found in 18th and 19th century recipe collections. It is a noteworthy phenomenon for a dish to have such a long history in Estonian cuisine, spanning centuries in recipe collections, and merits a closer look. Medieval European cookbooks listed two completely different foods under the name of heathen cakes and both were influenced from foods from the east. It is likely that the cakes made it to Tallinn and finer Estonian cuisine through Hanseatic merchants. It is not ultimately clear whether a single heathen cake recipe became domesticated in these parts already in the Middle Ages. In any case, heathen cakes would remain in Estonian cuisine for several centuries. As late as the early 19th century, the name in the local Baltic German cuisine referred to a delicacy made of egg-based batter fried in oil. Starting from the 18th century, the history of these fritters in Estonian cuisine can be traced through cookbooks. Old recipe collections document the changes and development in the tradition of making these cakes. The traditions of preparing these cakes were not passed on only in time, but circulated within society, crossing social and class lines. Earlier known from the elites’ culture, the dish reached the tables of ordinary people in the late 19th and early 20th century. In Estonian conditions, it meant the dish also crossed ethnic lines – from the German elite to the Estonian common folk’s menus. In the course of adaptation process, which was dictated and guided by cookbooks and cooking courses, the name of the dish changed several times (heydenssche koken, klenätid, Räderkuchen, rattakokid, seakõrvad), and changes also took place in the flavour nuances (a transition from spicier, more robust favours to milder ones) and even the appearance of the cakes. The story of the heathen cakes or pig’s ears in Estonian cuisine demonstrates how long and tortuous an originally elite dish can be as it makes its way to the tables of the common folk. The domestication and adaptation of such international recipes in the historical Estonian cuisine demonstrates the transregional cultural exchange, as well as culinary mobility and communication.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the impact of global celebrity chefs and their discourse about food on the genre of cookbooks in Slovenia. Design/methodology/approach – Focusing this discourse study on cookbook topics only, the analysis demonstrates the relationship between the aspirations of local celebrity chefs for the food culture represented globally by global celebrity chefs, such as Oliver, and the necessity for a local construction of specific tastes. While the central genre of TV celebrity chefs remains TV cooking shows, their businesses include a number of side products, such as cookbooks, which can be seen as recontexualisations of TV food discourse. Findings – Hence, despite this study being limited to analysis of cookbooks only, it can be claimed that the findings extend to other genres. The analysis shows that local chefs aspire to follow current trends, such as an emphasis on the local and sustainable production of food as well as enjoyment and pleasure in the form of a postmodern hybrid genre, while, on the other hand, they strive to include topics that will resonate locally, as they aim to represent themselves as the “new middle class”. Originality/value – Such an analysis brings new insights into the relationship between discourse and globalisation as well as discourse and food.

Abstract:
With the rising incidence of some diseases, such as obesity and diabetes, the healthy diet is arousing increasing attention. However, most existing food-related research efforts focus on recipe retrieval, user-preference-based food recommendation, cooking assistance, or the nutrition and calorie estimation of dishes, ignoring the personalized health-aware food recommendation. Therefore, in this work, we present a personalized health-aware food recommendation scheme, namely, Market2Dish, mapping the ingredients displayed in the market to the healthy dishes eaten at home. The proposed scheme comprises three components, namely, recipe retrieval, user health profiling, and health-aware food recommendation. In particular, recipe retrieval aims to acquire the ingredients available to the users and then retrieve recipe candidates from a large-scale recipe dataset. User health profiling is to characterize the health conditions of users by capturing the textual health-related information crawled from social networks. Specifically, to solve the issue that the health-related information is extremely sparse, we incorporate a word-class interaction mechanism into the proposed deep model to learn the fine-grained correlations between the textual tweets and pre-defined health concepts. For the health-aware food recommendation, we present a novel category-aware hierarchical memory network–based recommender to learn the health-aware user-recipe interactions for better food recommendation. Moreover, extensive experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the health-aware food recommendation scheme.

Different fractions of coke particles were mixed to optimize the anode recipe; however, it was laborious to find experimentally the suitable percentage of each fraction in anode paste which would give good anode properties. In this study, Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model was developed for adjusting the granulometry of the raw materials for anode production. Tapped bulk density of dry aggregates was used to predict the anode paste recipe using the ANN method. A new anode recipe (by adjusting the medium fraction in the paste) was proposed based on the predictions of an ANN model, which resulted in improved anode properties.</p>

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the PQ4R model (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, and Review) on the ability to analyze the drama script elements of class XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau. This research method is an experimental method. The population of class XI students is 258 students consisting of 8 classes. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling technique and the research sample is class XI IPA 1 totaling 30 students and class XI IPA 2 totaling 30 students. Data collection using test techniques. Data were analyzed using the "t" test formula. Based on the results of data analysis, furthermore, thit was consulted with ttab on the t distribution list with a significant level of 5%. Because dk = 58 is not found in the table, the writer uses the value of ttab with dk = 60. At the 5% confidence level is 2.00. Thus, thit: 2.79> ttab: 2.00. Thus, it can be concluded that the PQ4R Model can have an influence on the ability to analyze the elements of drama script for grade XI students of SMA Negeri 3 Lubuklinggau.

Abstract:
Today in Ukraine the part of the sausage production segment is about 30 % of all ready meat products. The boiled sausages play the main role among them. About 65 % of general assortment belongs to them among consumers. Safety and quality assurance of sausage is impossible without the conformity of requirements and recipes. The SSTU 4436:2005 “Boiled sausages, sausages, meat breads. General specifications” regulates them in Ukraine. However, today is observed the significant growth of sausages assortment, which are produced by recipes of producers. It allows them to use in production different nutritional supplements, replacement of raw materials, etc. Recent publications of experts shows that about 80 % of food products are falsified. The most common is assortment falsification. Therefore, the purpose of our study was to analyze the conformity of quality and safety parameters of high-class boiled sausage “Likarska” from the different producers to the SSTU 4436:2005 “Boiled sausages, sausages, meat breads. General specifications”. The materials of our study were the samples of high-class boiled sausage “Likarska” from the several domestic producers: LLC “Alan” (Dnipro), JV “Vekka” LLC (Odessa region, Lyman district, Blagodatne), LLC “Globino Meat Factory” (Poltava region, Globin district, Globino), LLC “Khodoriv Meat Factory” (Lviv region, Zhydachiv district, Khodoriv). The samples were selected by the control purchase in Odessa trading network (“METRO”, “Silpo”, “FOZZY”) and in Lviv trading network (“Vopak”, “МЕТРО”, “Silpo”). As a result 20 samples were selected and investigated in general. The studies were conducted during 2019–2020 on the basis of Multidisciplinary Laboratory of Veterinary Medicine (Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Biotecnologies of Odessa State Agrarian University) and on the basis of the laboratory of Department of Veterinary-Sanitary Inspection (Stepan Gzhytskyi National University of Veterinary Medicine and Biotechnologies, Lviv). We selected the samples, carried out sanitary assessments of sausages, determined the microbiological parameters in accordance with applicable regulations. We determined the physico-chemical parameters using the device FoodScan, radionuclides content – by β-γ-spermometry and the general toxicity – using the express method with the infusorium Colpoda steinii. According to the results of analysis of labeling we found out that the packaging (label) of all producers which were studied contains the basic production and consumer information. The analysis of the organoleptical, microbiological indicators and the radionuclides content of samples which were studied established their compliance with the requirement of SSTU 4436:2005. The total toxicity of sausages also wasn’t established. At the same time the analysis of physico-chemical parameters revealed non-compliance with SSTU 4436:2005 requirements by the mass fraction of protein in sausage “Likarska”, which was produced by JV “Vekka” LLC (10.95 ± 0.01 %) and LLC “Globino Meat Factory” (10.68 ± 0.02 %).

Abstract:

Abstract:
Image recognition is used to retrieve, analyse, understand, and process images from the real world to convert them into digital information. In this area involved data mining, machine learning, pattern recognition, knowledge extension. Developments in the image recognition area have resulted in computers and smartphones becoming capable of mimicking human eyesight. Improved cameras in modern devices can take pictures of very high quality, and with the help of new software, they receive the necessary information and on the basis of the received data is processed images. However, food recognition challenges modern computer vision systems and needs to go beyond just an visible image. Compared to understanding the natural image, visual prediction of ingredients requires high-level solutions and previous knowledge. This creates additional problems, because food components have high variability between the class, when cooking, you have to convert components and the ingredients are often included in the cooked dish. The recognition system allows you to take a step toward understanding the food supply systems such as calorie score and create recipes. The recognition system can be used to address wider problems, such as the prediction of the image on the consistency of the folding elements.

Abstract:
Our study uses the language of food to examine the representation of socioeconomic class identity in contemporary America by comparing the advertising language on expensive bags of potato chips with that on inexpensive chips. We find that the language on expensive chip bags indeed emphasizes factors that are more representative of higher socioeconomic status, such as more complex language and more claims about health. We also find support for Pierre Bourdieu's hypothesis that taste is fundamentally negative: descriptions on expensive chips, unlike on inexpensive chips, are full of comparison (“less fat,” “finest potatoes”) and negation (“not,” “never”'), suggesting a goal of distancing the upper classes from the tastes of lower socioeconomic classes. Finally, our results expand the relationship between authenticity and socioeconomic status. Previous scholars suggest that the desire for authenticity is solely linked with upper-class identity; we find, however, two distinct modes of authenticity. For the upper classes, authentic food is natural: not processed or artificial. For the working class, by contrast, authentic food is traditional: rooted in family recipes and located in the American landscape. Thus, the authentic experience is linguistically relevant for both classes—an example of the rich meanings hidden in the language of food.
