Classifying inventories into different groups based on the importance of each category of material is necessary for inventory management when there are a large number of inventories to be managed. In order to plan and determine effective policies in the management of each material, it is essential that the inventories be properly classified. One of the most popular methods used in classifying inventories is the ABC analysis, which is the classification of inventories based on their actual values. In the food-processing industry, for example, where inventories are often of perishable goods, the

Three self-report measures of handedness were explored. For simple dichotomous classification into right- versus left-handed groups, a brief (4-item) and an extended (12-item) inventory produced 98.8% classification concordance in a sample of 250 subjects. When handedness was treated as a continuous variable, indexes based upon the short and expanded scales correlated highly ( r = 0.95). A single-item handedness measure was also created which produced handedness classifications which were better than 97% concordant with the brief and extended handedness scales for dichotomous classification. Changes in forest areas have great impact on a range of ecosystem functions, and monitoring forest change across different spatial and temporal resolutions is a central task in forestry. At the spatial scales of municipalities, forest properties and stands, local inventories are carried out periodically to inform forest management, in which airborne laser scanner (ALS) data are often used to estimate forest attributes. As local forest inventories are repeated, the availability of bitemporal field and ALS data is increasing. The aim of this study was to assess the utility of bitemporal ALS data

The design of the AP1000 has incorporated a standardization approach, which results in a plant design that can be constructed in multiple geographical regions with varying regulatory standards and expectations. The AP1000 uses proven technology, which builds on over 30 years of operating PWR experience. In order to provide additional assurance that the AP1000 will me

Financial security is the basis for the effective development of any economic agent; it is especially important for enterprises, since their financial security underlies the security of both households and the state. This article examines the risks that can lead to the loss of the financial security of an enterprise, which the author classified into: general economic, industry- specific and risks of a particular enterprise. Hedging financial security risks will be most effective if the management of the enterprise evaluates the risks, using the classification proposed by the author. The financ

In design-by-analogy, inventors draw inspiration from natural and man-made systems to create new, often innovative engineering products. Though methods exist to aid concept generation through design-by-analogy, they are not built on fundamental knowledge of how inventors inherently use analogies. Such a foundation is critical for developing effective analogy-finding tools and methods. In this research, we pursue an empirical product study to guide the creation of a computational tool that presents relevant analogies based on designers’ objectives. Patents are organized into classification systems, which assist offices and users in the process of seeking and retrieving such documents. A wide variety of users use the patent systems and the information contained in these documents. Vegetation inventory and mapping is a process to document the composition, distribution and abundance of vegetation types across the landscape. The National Park Service’s (NPS) Inventory and Monitoring (I&M) program has determined vegetation inventory and mapping to be an important resource for parks; it is one of 12 baseline inventories of natural resources to be completed for all 270 national parks within the NPS I&M program.
