The hairs on the flowers and perifloral leaves of 25 representatives of the genus <i>Verbascum</i> L. were examined. Thirteen morphological types of hairs were identified. A new species, Tomocerus (Tomocerina) tianshanensis, from Xinjiang of northwest China is described.
