Abstract:
The clearwinh moth Synanthedon myopaeformis Borkhausen, 1789 (Lepidoptera: Sesiidae) is more and more important pest particulary in the orchard grafted on M9 and some other rootstocks. Attacked trees become exhausted over many years, their reproductive potential decreases and eventually they dry up, which is a big loss for plantations in intensive production that require high investments per hectare, especially if they are in full crop. During the research, the impact of three different varieties which are present in the plantation and different sampling period during the growing season on the

A group of clearwing moths Sesiidae (Syn.: Aegeriidae) is analyzed here with special emphasis on genetics of currant clearwing moth (Synanthedon tipuliformis, CLERCK 1759). DNA sequences of the longest (1544 nt) available sequence of Sesiidae genes Co1 (cytochrome oxidase subunit-1 of mitochondrial DNA, mtDNA) (mtDNA; NCBI# AJ864359.1) were analyzed after In silico data mining, and dendrogram was edited to reveal molecular diversity and genetic distances among Sesiidae species. Batesian mimicry, sexual dimorphism, and genetics and genomics of Sesiidae are indicated.

Abstract:
A new species of clearwing moth, Pyrophleps ellawi Skowron Volponi, sp. n., is described from Peninsular Malaysia. Information on the habitat, time and conditions of occurrence, flight and mud-puddling behaviour, functional morphology, and DNA barcode are also provided. Photographs and a supplementary video from the wild demonstrate the postures and behaviour of this species of Pyrophleps, whose remaining members were described only on the basis of pinned specimens. This is the first record of this genus in Peninsular Malaysia.

Abstract:
This work presents the first description of the larval morphology of the clearwing moth species Sesia bembeciformis (Hübner, [1806]). The description of the pupa is expanded with new data. All diagnostic morphological features are described in detail, and illustrated with photographs and line drawings. A key to the described larvae of Sesia bembeciformis, S. apiformis, S. yezoensis and S. siningensis is provided. Diagnostic features for the genus Sesia, based on the described larvae and pupae, are proposed and discussed.

Abstract:
The systematic position of Aegeria montis Leech, 1889 and Zhuosesia zhuoxiana Yang, 1977 is discussed. Having studied newly collected material, we transfer A. montis to the genus Chamaesphecia Spuler, 1910, subgenus Chamaesphecia s. str. The male of this species and its genitalia are illustrated for the first time. The host-plant of its larvae is assumed to be a species of Euphorbia (Euphorbiaceae). Zhuosesia Yang, 1977, syn. nov., is shown to be a junior subjective synonym of Chamaesphecia Spuler, 1910 with the new combination of its type species, Chamaesphecia zhuoxiana (Yang, 1977), comb. n

Abstract:
The clearwing moth, Tyrictaca hyalina (Kallies & Arita, 2001) (Tinthiini, Sesiidae), was reared from cultivated Ficus microcarpa L.f. which were imported from China to Poland. Tyrictaca hyalina is native to southeast Asia and was probably reared before from the same imported Ficus plants in Germany and France. This article presents the first description of the pupal morphology of Tyrictaca. We compare the description of pupal morphology of T. hyalina to known morphological features of the pupae of other Tinthiini species. The morphological characters of adult and male genitalia are also pr
