Résumé Chrétien de Troyes ouvre son Conte du Graal sur une étonnante métaphore de l’écrivain semeur en train de répandre ses graines romanesques. Cette représentation paysanne d’un auteur qui travaille le texte comme on travaillerait la terre permet alors de légitimer une écriture littéraire toujours susceptible, au Moyen Âge, de constituer un affront aux Écritures. En se peignant dans l’effort rustique, Chrétien de Troyes choisit donc de reconduire sa soumission, tant à l’ordre divin (le labeur est bien le destin de tout bon chrétien depuis le péché originel) qu’à la hiérarchie féodale où le fruit de l’activité n’est qu’une exigence du fief que le travailleur ne saurait réclamer.

Abstract:
Nas duas últimas décadas o que se poderia chamar de "retorno aos manuscritos" tem suscitado significativas descobertas e reavaliações no campo dos estudos narrativos medievais. Deixar a imagem de uma narrativa individualizada e interrompida, fixada pelas edições modernas, e retornar aos manuscritos que contém o Perceval de Chrétien de Troyes é uma experiência exemplar desta abertura de novas possibilidades de investigação e, por consequência, de abordagem: na maioria destes manuscritos o que se encontra é uma narrativa que se integra sem descontinuidades aparentes a um tecido narrativo normalmente estudado de maneira fragmentária. Tomando como ponto de partida a composição do conjunto dos manuscritos do Perceval de Chrétien de Troyes e tendo como foco de análise o manuscrito de Mons, proponho neste estudo alguns princípios de análise que poderiam orientar e guiar uma leitura que pretenda considerar sua unidade narrativa.
