Abstract:

Behaviourally oriented clinical psychologists were presented a single case of sleep dysfunction on video. Their subsequent treatment suggestions were compared. The results indicated a diversity of strategies and only moderate levels of agreement across clinicians. There was a preference for modifying underlying complaints, rather than treating the sleep disorder directly, even though correction of the sleep patterns was construed as the ultimate goal by the majority of therapists.
