Abstract:
This paper first examines Frederick Winslow Taylor's theory of scientific management, especially his time and motion study, as it relates to the "cult of efficiency" in education and then analyzes the hidden dangers behind the conceptualization and daily practice of "time on task" in schools. Finally, the paper explores the struggles against these dangers or the ghost of control in the fettered time on mechanical clocks and watches and calls for a careful listening and responding to the living rhythms of time.

Abstract:
This paper presents innovative mechanisms capable of advantageously providing attitude control for spacecrafts. These new mechanisms, which we have named flexure wheels, are the dynamic equivalent of a rotating wheel and can be entirely implemented with flexures. A reaction wheel is a well known device for controlling the orientation of spacecrafts. It consists in a motorised fly-wheel which is placed within the spacecraft. To set the wheel into angular rotation, a torque is applied to the wheel which in response applies the opposite torque back to the spacecraft, according to Newton's thi

In a listicle on becomingminimalist.com, Joshua Becker argues that advances in personal computing have contributed to the growing popularity of the minimalist lifestyle. Becker explains that computational media can efficiently absorb physical artefacts like books, photo albums, newspapers, clocks, calendars, and more. In Nawapol Thamrongrattanarit’s Happy Old Year (2019, ฮาวทูทิ้ง ทิ้งอย่างไร..ไม่ให้เหลือเธอ) the protagonist Jean also argues that material possessions are wasteful and unnecessary in the era of cloud storage. In the film, she redesigns her old-fashioned and messy childhood home

Abstract:
Introduction The proliferation of electronic images and audiovisual forms, together with the recent expansion of Internet communication makes me wonder about the adequacy of present theoretical apparatus within the humanities and communication disciplines to explain these new phenomena and their effects on human life. As someone working roughly within a cultural and media studies framework, I have long harboured suspicions about the ability of concepts such as text, discourse and representation to give an account of the new media which does not simply reduce them to another version of earlier

Abstract:
Introduction Jane Schoenbrun’s I Saw the TV Glow (ISTTVG) is a psychological science fiction/horror film which draws upon audiences’ associations between serialised television and queer identity development to ask a terrifying question: would you bury yourself alive to solve the mystery of a parallel life not yet lived? The film is an allegory for queer experiences of internalised heteronormativity and concealment in which the villain is not the typical monster of the week, but our own selves, suffocating under the mundanity of surroundings we have yet to break free from. Abstract:
Abstract Time is an indispensable tool for all of us. The time kept by innumerable watches and a great variety of clocks regulates our everyday life, while the familiar calendar governs our weekly, monthly, and yearly doings. theseeventually condense into the historical record of the events over centuries. The standard unit of modern time keeping is the second, defined by a precise number of vibrations of the cesium atomic clock. The atomic second is defined as the duration of 9.192.631.770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between two hyperfine levels of the ground stat
