Abstract:
ABSTRACT Thin layer and powder of lead titanate had been prepared using lead acetate and tetraethylorthotitanate as precursor by sol gel process. The thin layer of composite was obtain through layering the composite on glass substrate. Both thin layer and powder were calcined between 100-700°C and were characterized by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), UV and Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR). The diffraction pattern show that the structure of composite on glass substrate is amorf at 500°C and could not identified at 700°C while the powder is crystalline at 500 and 700°C. FTIR spectra shown the Ti-O peak at 1407 cm-1, the Pb-O and Pb-O-Ti peaks at 718 and 600 cm-1, respectively.

Abstract:
Penelitian mengenai sintesis nanopartikel ZnO undoped dan doped Cu2+ telah dilakukan melalui metoda sol-gel, dengan menggunakan zink (II) asetat dihidrat sebagai prekursor, isopropanol sebagai pelarut, dan monoethanolamin sebagai zat aditif. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan struktur, ukuran partikel, spektra FTIR dan band gap, serta menjelaskan morfologi permukaan ZnO doped Cu2+. Pada penelitian ini dilakukan penambahan dopan Cu2+ dengan variasi konsentrasi 3%.. Nanopartikel ZnO undoped dan doped Cu2+ diperoleh dari hasil pengeringan sol Zn(OH)2 pada suhu 110? selama 1 jam dan dikalsinasi pada suhu 500? selama 2 jam. Nanopartikel ZnO undoped dan doped Cu2+ dikarakterisasi menggunakan FTIR, UV-DRS, XRD, dan SEM. Analisa spektra FTIR menunjukkan serapan pada bilangan gelombang 475-575 cm-1 untuk ZnO undoped, regangan Zn-O dalam ZnO doped Cu2+ pada daerah bilangan gelombang 470 cm-1 , dan regangan Zn-O-Cu pada daerah bilangan gelombang 564 cm-1. Nilai band gap ZnO undoped dan doped Cu2+ yaitu ZnO undoped (3,1 eV), dan ZnO doped Cu2+ 3% (3,00 eV). Analisa menggunakan XRD menunjukkan beberapa puncak spesifik ZnO undoped dan doped Cu2+ dengan struktur kristal heksagonal wurzite dan ukuran kristal ZnO undoped berkisar antara 38-74 nm, ZnO doped Cu2+ 3% dan berkisar antara 45-101 nm. Mikrostruktur ZnO doped Cu2+ memberikan bentuk morfologi bulat (spheric) dengan ukuran diameternya sekitar 1-2 .

Abstract:
Accuracy and validity of self-reported height and weight, and body image satisfaction have not been evaluated particularly in young adult population in Turkey. The aim of the study was to establish the differences of self-reported height and weight, and body mass index (BMI). The study conducted on 617 university students (304 males and 313 females) aged 17-30 years from Ankara and Sivas, Turkey. Height and weight were measured and obtained by a questionnaire. From both measured and self-reported values for accuracy absolute differences were calculated. BMI was calculated from both self-reported and measured height and weight values using World Health Organization (WHO) cut-offs. The results showed that mean accuracy for the overestimated height was 1.83 cm for males (Ankara 1.59 cm and Sivas 2.05 cm), and 2.42 cm for females (Ankara 2.12 cm and Sivas 2.74 cm), and underreporting weight was 0.35 kg (Ankara 0.13 kg and Sivas 0.56 kg) and -0.95 kg (Ankara 0.33 kg and Sivas 1.07 kg), respectively. Self-reported BMIs>25 was 33.9% for males (Ankara 27.6% and Sivas 39.6%), and 15.7% for females (Ankara 9.9% and Sivas 16.8%), while measured BMIs>25 was 38.2% (Ankara 30.3% and Sivas 45.3%) and 25.9% (Ankara 21.7% and Sivas 35.5%), respectively. In conclusion, study group tended to overestimate height but underestimate weight, therefore the self-reported weight and height studies needed to evaluate more cautiously, and direct measurements or correction equations for adjustment needed for reliable results.

The Multi Soil layering (MSL) system is a liquid waste treatment method with the use of soil as the main medium and the organic material formed in brick and arranged in layers with a homogeneous zeolite layer. The MSL system is made of acrylic (50 x 15 x 50) cm containing a brick (4 x 9 x 15) cm and (4 x 5 x 15) cm of volcanic soil mixture as the main medium mixed with charcoal, rice husk, and iron powder (70 : 10 : 10 : 5)%, permiable layer is used zeolite (2-3) mm. The sample came from the well water of one of villager at Jati, Padang. Efficiency of SML system for aeration process on turbidity parameter with flow rate variation of 2, 4, 6, 8 mL/min reach 99,8 %, for non aeration process efficiency of turbidity decrease 88,14 %. While for the flow rate of 10, 20, 40, 80 mL/min, the efficiency of decrease for aeration at parameters Mn 66,44 %, nitrite 59,74 %, nitrate 58,34 %, turbidity 54,63 %, while in non aeration efficiency decrease turbidity reach 44,04 %, Mn 47,26 %, nitrite 49,74 %, nitrate 45,57 %. Of all efficiency values decreasing all parameters already complied drinking water quality standard according to Permenkes RI No. 492/Menkes/Per/IV/2010.

Bio oil is most important alternative energy resources for human life due to the production of fossil fuel tend todecline. Numbers of researches have been developed on alternative energy resources, such as the conversion ofbiomass. The palm solid waste which is consisted of wood, stem and empty bunch having size of diameter in rangeof 2 to 10 mesh were used in this work. The pyrolysis method is selected in this research. This process was donein stainless steel reactor having length and length of 60.0 and 3.81 cm respectively at temperature of 450 to 600oCunder nitrogen flow. Gas chromatography HP 5890 is utilized to analyze of the bio oil result. The result achieved thehighest yield at 500oC and particle diameter of 2-6 mesh.

Suatu metoda baru telah dikembangkan untuk penentuan temperatur elektronik dari plasma non-termik nitrogen dengan menggunakan spektroskopi emisi. Metoda ini telah dipakai untuk plasma non-termik nitrogen yang diproduksi dalam lucutan pijar korona densitas tinggi. Dengan mengasumsikan bahwa fungsi distribusi energi dari elektron adalah distribusi maxwellian dan penggunaan data tampang lintang efektif dari sistem positif kedua, 2s+, (C3Pu®B3Pg) dari N2 dan sistem negatif pertama, 1s– (B2S+u®X2S+g) dari N2+, hubungan antara energi rerata elektron dengan perbandingan intensitas 1s–(0-0) dan intensitas 2s+(2-5) dapat diselesaikan ecara teoretik. Spektrum emisi dari molekul nitrogen tereksitasi, (C3Pu®B3Pg) dari N2 dan molekul terionisasi, 1s– (B2S+u®X2S+g) dari N2+, secara eksperimen diperoleh dari spektroskopi emisi. Melalui identifikasi dan analisa spektru-spektrum tersebut, perbandingan intensitas 1s–(0-0) dan intensitas 2s+(2-5) diperoleh secara eksperimen. Abstract:
Kitosan adalah polisakarida kationik yang terdiri dari residu glukosamin dan N-asetil glukosamin yang terikat oleh ikatan β-1,4 glikosidik. Keberadaan gugus alkohol bebas pada kerangka kitosan dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai gugus pembentuk matrik dengan atom lainnya, dalam penelitian ini adalah silika (Si). Kondisi ini dapat dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan dasar sintesis membran sel bahan bakar (Fuel Cell). Sintesis kitosan dilakukan dengan mendeasetilasi kitin yang bersumber dari limbah kulit udang. Membran komposit kitosan-TEOS (Tetraetilortosilikat) telah berhasil disintesis dengan menggunakan variasi nilai konsentrasi kitosan terhadap jumlah TEOS. Membran komposit kitosan-TEOS disintesis dengan menggunakan metoda sol-gel dan pembalikan fasa. Kitosan dan membran komposit yang dihasilkan kemudian dikarakterisasi sifat kimia dan fisika nya yaitu penentuan derajat deasetilasi, penentuan berat molekul rata-rata (Mv), persen kelarutan, analisis struktur dengan menggunakan FTIR, uji ketahanan suhu, analisis morfologi dengan menggunakan SEM, dan kapasitas pertukaran ion (KPI). Hasil karakterisasi menunjukkan derajat deasetilasi kitosan sebesar 79,31% dengan nilai berat molekul rata-rata (Mv) 1,16 x 107 g/mol dan persen kelarutan 1% (v/v) asam asetat. Hasil pengukuran FTIR membran menunjukkan terdapat puncak 1377 cm-1 yang merupakan puncak dari eter siklik, puncak 3454 cm-1 yang merupakan puncak dari O-H, puncak pada 1662-1666 cm-1 yang merupakan puncak dari C=O asetamida, dan 3454-3500 cm-1 yang merupakan puncak N-H, sedangkan puncak 904 cm-1 dan 1091,7 cm-1 menunjukkan adanya ikatan silang antara Si-OH dan Si-O-C (alifatik). Uji ketahanan membran terhadap suhu sebesar 120oC sedangkan nilai konduktivitas ionik terbesar dimiliki oleh tipe membran CTSN-1,5 dengan nilai 0,114 meq/g. Hasil analisis SEM menunjukkan bahwa membran mempunyai struktur yang rapat.

Apsolutno određivanje položaja točke s GNSS/CORS (Globalni navigacijski satelitski sustav) u šumskim područjima predstavlja značajan izazov u smislu uštede vremena, kako bi se dobile što točnije koordinate točaka. Vrijeme za rješenje neodređenosti faze cijelih brojeva nosača obično traje jedan sat ili više za apsolutno određivanje točaka pod šumskim područjem s GNSS/CORS. U ovom istraživanju predložena je alternativna metoda za određivanje položaja točke, koja daje rezultate položaja s preciznošću na razini centimetra i potrebno je skoro 15 minuta kako bi se dala nova lokacija točke u šumskom području. Predložena metoda može također imati praktičnu primjenu za unutarnje prostore sa željenom preciznošću na razini cm, koja se postiže u kratkom vremenu promatranja. U ovom istraživanju, proveli smo terenski rad kako bi dobili koordinate točaka u šumskim područjima s GNSS/CORS sustavom i dodatnim mjerenjima, utvrđivanjem dviju kontrolnih točaka promatranih s GNSS/CORS lociranih na granici šumskog područja. Rezultati pokazuju da se zadovoljavajuće rješenje za šumsko područje postiže na razini cm (≈ ± 6 cm) u kratkom vremenu promatranja.

Dalam penelitian ini telah berhasil dibuat senyawa organoiodium turunan sukrosa di dalam fraksi air dengan cara mereaksikan sukrosa, iodium dan fosfor merah di dalam set alat refluks pada suhu 98°C selama 15 menit. Pada akhir reaksi, campuran diekstraksi menggunakan n-heksana dan fasa atau fraksi air yang terbentuk dipisahkan dari fasa organiknya. Fasa air ini kemudian ditotolkan pada plat KLT yang dibuat dari gel silika 60 F254 dan dikembangkan dengan campuran butanaol : asam asetat : air (BAA, 4:1:5). Dari perlakukan ini diperoleh satu noda yang mempunyai Rf 0,6. Noda ini kemudian dikerok, diekstraksi menggunakan metanol dan kemudian dianalisis menggunakan spektrofotometer merah infra (MI). Noda ini memunculkan spektra IR yang khas pada bilangan gelombang 615,2 cm-1. Hal ini berarti ikatan C-I yang diharapkan berhasil terbentuk dan sekaligus menunjukkan bahwa fasa air tersebut mengandung senyawa organoiodium turunan sukrosa.

Sungai Batang Arau mempunyai panjang sungai ± 29,72 km dengan luas Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS) ± 172 km2, hulu sungai berada pada puncak bukit Punggung Lading Kecamatan Lubuk Kilangan dan Gunung Gadut Kecamatan Pauh Kota Padang, dan pada daerah hilir terdapat Pelabuhan Muara. Pelabuhan Muara dibangun pertama kali pada abad ke-17 hingga awal abad ke-20. Saat ini pelabuhan Muara berfungsi sebagai pintu gerbang antar pulau terutama menuju ke Kepulauan Mentawai, Pulau Sikuai, dan sekitarnya, serta kembali lagi ke kota Padang. Akhir-akhir ini fungsi pelabuhan di muara sungai Batang Arau tempat keluar masuknya kapal – kapal terganggu karena terjadinya pendangkalan sungai. Ini terjadi karena tingginya tingkat pertambahan penduduk sehingga mempengaruhi perubahan tata guna lahan dari hutan sekunder, kebun dan sawah menjadi kawasan permukiman, serta bertambah luasnya kawasan tambang batu kapur yang digunakan untuk dasar pembuatan semen oleh PT Semen Padang pada DAS Batang Arau yang mengakibatkan bertambahnya debit puncak run off, meningkatnya erosi dan konsentrasi sedimen di DAS Batang Arau. Untuk menghitung angkutan sedimen di pelabuhan muara di DAS Batang Arau dilakukan dengan metoda Yang’s dan metoda Engelund& Hansen. Dari hasil perhitungan yang dilakukan dengan Metode Yang’s didapat hasil 28703,83 ton/tahun dan dengan Metoda Engelund & Hansen didapat hasil 34587,43 ton/tahun. Dan untuk estimasi tebal endapan di pelabuhan Muara Batang Arau kota Padang didapat dari hasil kajian angkutan sedimen yang berdasarkan angkutan sedimen terbesar Metoda Engelund & Hansen hasilnya adalah 21,64 cm per tahun.

Abstract:
This thesis deals with creation of elliptic curves generator. MIRACL library and C++ language are used. One of important issues is to determine the order of the elliptic curve group. SEA algorithm (Schoof–Elkies–Atkin) is used for point counting on the elliptic curve. Method with this algorithm is called as counting points method, SEA method etc. Next method is CM method. Both methods are available in the generator. The measurements of dependency of basic operations speed on the group size and parameters were done. ECIES hybrid scheme was implemented. It is practical verification of proper functionality of the generator. Another benchmarks measured dependency of ECIES encryption and decryption on various parameters, e.g. size of the curve, generating method, message size etc.

Project teams that deliver high risk, complex projects in the civil construction industry need tools to enable successful delivery. Construction Manager/General Contractor (CM/GC) is an innovative alternate delivery method, providing one such a tool. CM/GC furnishes public agencies with an attractive option for delivering projects in a less adversarial and more constructive manner by involving the contractor during design. The sophisticated public owner does not have to relinquish control of the details of the design in order to accelerate the schedule or see the benefits of real-time cost estimating data. There are also significant cost and schedule benefits with not degradation in quality. However, because CM/GC is relatively unknown to the civil construction industry much remains to be investigated about how CM/GC processes effect successful project delivery. This research investigated how CM/GC processes affect the three critical elements of construction process risks (including quality, schedule, cost and collaboration), project specific risks, and innovation. By identifying the processes that benefit these elements, successes can be repeated and increased. Additionally, an understanding of the differences in the perception of CM/GC processes, given by contractors, owners, and design engineers, provided perspective into improving the process. Analyzing data on current CM/GC projects and programs, as well as the compiled experience of field-experienced project teams, provided the information the industry needs to pursue implementation. Identified advantages of the process can be tied to strategies for successful delivery. Identified disadvantages expose barriers to implementation to be overcome by the project team. Project teams state that while the process does have disadvantages, many are perceptional and not fatal flaws to the method. Findings of this research link CM/GC processes to robust risk management results and the opportunity for successful innovation.

Abstract:
Dissertation is focused on the application of optical measurement methods using techniques of optical microscopy and fluorescence microscopy in measurements of electromechanical characteristics of isolated cardiac cells and clusters of differentiated cardiomyocytes. The first proposed method uses a practical combination of fluorescence microscopy equipped with fluorescent fast and high-resolution camera and atomic force microscopy for simultaneous measurement of calcium transients and contraction of cardiomyocyte clusters. The signals obtained undergoes filtration, processing and analysis. Result function parameters obtained by analyzing signals after application of caffeine are evaluated by comparison with functional parameters obtained during the control measurement. The second proposed method is applied to the cardiomyocyte clusters for the purpose of cardiomyocyte contraction signals measurement. The signals obtained by optical methods are analyzed and compared with the reference signal obtained using atomic force microscopy. Optical measurement method of cell contractins based on detection of cell ends using adjusting of microscopy images by re-sharpening and fluorescence method for cardiomyocyte contractions measurements were designed to increase realiability in simultaneous measurement of cell contractions simultaneously with calcium transients in isolated cardiomyocytes experiments.

Puis, après avoir brièvement étudié la fraction d'échappement, j'ai développé un modèle pour l'émission UV, radio et X des quasars, capable de reproduire les fonctions de luminosité sur une grande gamme de redshift, et dont je tire des prédictions sur la forêt 21-cm et le fond radio des quasars. Je présente un nouvel effet sur le signal 21-cm: un quasar radio-bruyant peut laisser l'empreinte de son cycle d'activité sur la tomographie 21-cm. J'applique cet effet à une simulation cosmologique, et conclue qu'il n'est probablement pas observable par SKA, même pour un quasar à ~10 mJy. Puis, j'étudie la contribution de l'émission UV des quasars au couplage Wouthuisen-Field. Un motif particulier autour des quasars les plus brillants d'un champ SKA, encodant la longueur de la phase d'activité, pourrait être observé dans la tomographie. The exact role of quasars during the Epoch of Reionization (EoR) is an open question. In this manuscript I study the impact of quasars during the EoR, in four different wavelengths (radio, Lyman-alpha, Lyman continuum and X-rays). I developed a halo finder which can be run on-the-fly in LICORICE, a number of companion tools and many of the routines used in processing the data from the 21SSD database. After briefly studying the escape fraction, I developed a model for quasar UV, radio and X-ray emission, which is able to match observed luminosity functions in a broad range of redshifts, and I make predictions about the 21-cm forest and the radio background of quasars. I then present a new effect on the 21-cm signal observed against the CMB: a radio-loud quasar can leave the imprint of its duty cycle on the 21-cm tomography. I apply this effect in a cosmological simulation and conclude that the effect is probably not observable by the SKA, even for a bright 10 mJy quasar. Then I study the contribution of the Lyman band emission of quasars to the Wouthuisen-Field coupling. A distinctive pattern around the brightest quasars in an SKA field of view may be observable in the tomography, encoding the duration of their duty cycle. Finally, I present ongoing work on including the ionizing UV and X-ray contribution of the quasars in a self-consistent way, taking duty cycles into account

This diploma thesis describes how to create or convert traditional Java programs to desktop-like rich internet applications with the Google Web Toolkit. The Google Web Toolkit is an open source development environment, which translates Java code to browser and device independent HTML and JavaScript. Most of the GWT framework parts, including the Java to JavaScript compiler as well as important security issues of websites will be introduced. The famous Agricola board game will be implemented in the Model-View-Presenter pattern to show that complex user interfaces can be created with the Google Web Toolkit. The Google Web Toolkit framework will be compared with the JavaServer Faces one to find out which toolkit is the right one for the next web project

In this thesis, anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) film on 20 cm x 20 cm large area glass substrate by anodization process using special designed carrier was proposed. With this design, the current was transfered from the electrode support to the aluminum (Al) film directly to obtain the external power with an alligator clip connecting the glass substrate. It can be used under high applied bias (>110 V) for improving the uniformity of current density. The AAO/ITO/glass structure used to solve the issue of the quantity of unreacted Al inside the AAO template increased with higher voltage, resulting its average transmittance decreases in AAO/glass structure. The enhancement of light transmittance is approved by modulating the porous diameter using different applied bias. Therefore, the transmittance of AAO film increase with increasing the time of pores-widening treatment, which is attribute to decrease the refractive index of AAO film. With the post-annealing treatment, the transmittance of AAO film does not improve significantly in visible range, but it is enhanced in near-IR range.

Metal wire mesh is commonly practice for river bank protection, rock fall protection, and slope stabilization applications. Currently, the use of wire mesh for river bank protection and slope stabilization applications is more than 15 million square meters. Only the materials cost is more than 20 billion New Taiwan dollars. Currently, the replacement of wire mesh for these applications is too often. To develop a better mechanism to construct metal wire mesh is an important task. The early age hand-made fourth-twisted hexagonal wire meshes were observed to be more durable than those current machine made triple-twisted hexagonal wire meshes. Therefore, the objective of this study is to study a better structural pattern and connection mechanism to produce durable hexagonal wire mesh. Triple-twist and fourth-twist model hexagonal wire mesh panels were used to evaluate the tensile behavior of the test samples with or without one cut at the center of the test wire panels. The panels were oriented either parallel or perpendicular to the twist wire sections. Tensile tests were also conducted for panel to panel connection using binding-joint and twist-joint. ASTM A975 test procedure was used in the study. The mesh panels were constructed with metallic coated 4.0 mm steel wire with 12cmx15cm mesh opening. The results of the study indicated that the ultimate tensile strength for triple-twist or fourth-twist hexagonal wire mesh panel was similar for uncut conditions. However, the fourth-twist hexagonal wire panels showed better tensile resistance and less elongation after the wire cut at center of the panel for tensile tests conducting in both longitudinal and transverse directions. Tensile strength for the panels oriented in the direction parallel to the twist wire section was greater than those placed perpendicular to the twist wire section. Twist joint showed better tensile resistance than that for binding joint. Keywords: hexagonal wire mesh, gabion, river bank protection, slope stabilization, rock-fall protection.

Collaborative project delivery methods are believed to contribute to faster completions times, lower overall project costs and higher quality. Contracts are expected to influence the degree of collaboration on a given project since they allow or restrict certain lines of communication in the decision making process. Various delivery systems rank differently on the spectrum of collaboration. Because collaborative project delivery methods require owners and AEC stakeholders to meet frequently early in the delivery process, they are thought to add additional upfront costs to the project. The purpose of this study is to test if collaborative project delivery methods impart enough value so that the upfront cost incurred at the beginning of project is eventually surpassed by realized savings. Ideally, the extreme forms of project delivery methods, that is, Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and Design-Bid-Build (DBB), should be compared to test the effects of collaboration on benefits to the owner. Due to difficulty in obtaining data on IPD and similarly scaled DBB projects, for this study, their close cousins, CM-at-Risk (CMR) and Competitive Sealed Proposal (CSP) were compared. The study engaged statistical comparison of cost of change orders and overall project cost performance of 17 CMR and 13 CSP projects of similar scales by same owner. Project cost performance observed under CMR projects was found significantly more than those under CSP. This study is expected to help boost confidence in the benefits of collaborative project delivery methods. It is likely that the results will encourage acceptance of IPD for public projects. Owners who were previously discouraged by the increased upfront cost of collaborative projects may also find interest in the results of this study.

Method used was based on guidelines of UNEP, JRC and DEFISHGEAR project. Preliminary results show that 1917 items were collected at Cala dei Ponzesi, while 816 were identified in 2019 surveys. 289 items were collected in 2 2019 surveys at Cala Spalmatore. Abstract Disruption events such as machine random failures significantly impact the throughput of the line. Maintenance actions could restore the machines to certain health levels. A real-time scheduling of corrective maintenance (CM) is critical to improve the machines’ performance, hence to improve overall system productivity and quality. Due to the limited quantity of technicians or robots in manufacturing system, when, where and assign what type of maintenance is a complicated decision to make. A proper strategy to assign CM can greatly reduce permanent production lost, resource and energy consumption. In this paper, an online task allocation (OTA) method is provided to solve the assignment of CM for a stochastics serial production line. Case study is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of OTA method in assigning CM.

Type I Chiari malformation (CM) is a complex disorder of the craniospinal system characterized by underdevelopment of the posterior cranial fossa and overcrowding of the normally developed hindbrain [1], and may be a precursor to more severe secondary disorders such as syringomyelia and hydrocephalus. Diagnosis of CM has proven to be difficult and may often take years to properly identify, as associated neurological symptoms may vary widely and overlap with symptoms of other disorders. Current methods of quantifying the severity of CM, such as radiographical measurement of the depth of hindbrain herniation into the spinal canal or measurement of posterior cranial fossa volume do not necessarily correlate to the symptom severity. Hence, there exists a need for a quantitative diagnostic method which may better characterize the severity of CM and, potentially, help neurosurgeons determine candidates for surgical treatment.

Subtle aspects of illumination sources and their characterization methods can introduce significant uncertainty into the data gathered from light-activated experiments, limiting their reproducibility and technology transition. Degradation kinetics of methyl orange (MO) and carbamazepine (CM) under illumination with TiO₂ were used as a case study for investigating the role of incident photon flux on photocatalytic degradation rates. Valerophenone and ferrioxalate actinometry were paired with optical radiometry in three different illumination systems: xenon arc (XE), tungsten halogen (W-H), and UV fluorescent (UV-F). Degradation rate constants for MO and CM varied similarly among the three light systems as k W-H < kiv-F < kXE, implying the same relative photon flux emission by each light. However, the apparent relative photon flux emitted by the different lights varied depending on the light characterization method. This discrepancy is shown to be caused by the spectral distribution present in light emission profiles, as well as absorption behavior of chemical actinometers and optical sensors. Data and calculations for the determination of photon flux from chemical and calibrated optical light characterization is presented, allowing us to interpret photo-degradation rate constants as a function of incident photon flux. This approach enabled the derivation of a calibrated ‘rate-flux’ metric for evaluating and translating data from photocatalysis studies.

Hybridization of Back cross is one method to get varieties that are resistant to downy mildew. The purpose of this study was to obtain information on inheritance characteristics of downy mildew resistance. This research was conducted at the experiment center of Agro-Technology Study Program of Agriculture Faculty, University of Trunojoyo Madura. Research of Assessment of resistance to Downy Mildew used a randomized block design with 18 treatments (P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1P1 and BC1P2 in three sets of crosses, namely LGL x Mdr-3, T12 x Mdr-1 and E02 x Mdr-2) and three replications so there were 54 experimental units. Identification of polymorphic RAPD markers for endurance to downy mildew through Bulk Segregant Analysis (BSA) was done by amplifying the DNA in the resistant pool and susceptible pool. The random primers used were 120 primers from 6 operon groups, namely OPA, OPB, OPC, OPD, OPF and OPG. The results showed that the inheritance pattern of maize genetic resistance to downy mildew followed a segregation pattern of 3:1 with a degree of dominance between -1 and 0, and was controlled by incomplete partially negative dominant gene.
