EMBA Project Report
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY: Commander, Naval Installations Command (CNIC) is in the process of developing a comprehensive strategy to attract, develop, and sustain a motivated and diverse civilian workforce to meet current and future operational requirements. CNIC has hired a contractor, Concurrent Technologies Corporation (CTC), to review the workforce development of the entire organization. This capstone project focuses on the Headquarters Deputy N-Code positions in order to identify which of these positions would require additional continuity planning and to identify the critical skills and training needed for these positions. The data gathered revealed several significant observations with respect to the Deputy positions: All Deputy positions require additional continuity planning with the exception of the N4B and N8B positions, which already have well defined requirements. Education: Bachelors Degree required, Masters would be beneficial. Professional Training: Formal Budget Training (PPBE) required. Experience: Most felt that Regional or Installation level CNIC experience was required prior to taking the Deputy position. During our review and discussions with the N8 personnel, we were provided a copy of their “Professional Development Guide” which is a thoroughly detailed training plan for all levels. Our team concludes that this training plan, combined with the competencies we have identified, could be modified to serve as a framework for the workforce development efforts of the Deputy level positions at CNIC Headquarters.

A large-format CNC router has been stored in the Pappalardo Laboratory wood shop for several years in an unusable state. A need assessment determined that it would be cost effective to bring the router online for use in the mechanical engineering curriculum. The router was cleaned and inspected; it was determined that the router was in sound mechanical condition. The stepper motors, control system, and power supply were also functional, but the CNC interface software was outdated. To ensure the long term viability of the router as an effective teaching tool the most cost effective solution was to upgrade the motors, control system, and CNC interface software using a package provided by the original supplier, Techno-Isel Inc. The motors, control system, and software were installed, bringing the router to a fully functional state. Dust and ejected cuttings cause a safety hazard and cleanliness problem when operating the router. An enclosure was designed and installed in order to trap the majority of debris and reduce noise levels in the workspace, and a brief user guide has been compiled to ensure safe and effective usage.

This diploma thesis deals with rebuild of manual drill-mill machine BF20L into CNC mill machine, 3D model of that and eventual control using PLC. All axes are powered by stepper motors, with encoders, connected to control cards and industrial computer from company Beckhoff. For this control is made full switchboard, supplemented by electrical wiring diagram. Program control along with visualization is made in software TwinCAT 3. Drill-mill machine can be controlled manually or automatically by program.

Abstract:
In today’s society, CNC machines are used for various purposes. In this project, a CNC plotter is created to analyze how the performance of the plotter differs when using two different motors: a DC motor controlled by a potentiometer in the horizontal direction and a stepper motor in the vertical direction. A CNC plotter is built and used to do tests in order to answer the research question. The results show that a DC motor with a potentiometer is more precise than a stepper motor and the mean value of the relative errors in the vertical direction is always higher. The values differ with 1 percentage point to 3 percentage points. The difference in the performance of the two motors depend on several factors and one of the main factors is considered to be the fact that the stepper motor sometimes skips steps.
I dagens samhälle används CNC-maskiner för olika ändamål. I detta projekt skapades en CNC-plotter för att analysera hur plotterns prestanda skiljer sig vid användning av två olika motorer: en DC motor kontrollerad av en potentiometer i horisontell riktning och en stegmotor i vertikal riktning. En CNC-plotter byggdes och användes för genomförande av tester för att kunna svara på forskningsfrågan. Resultaten visar att en DC motor med en potentiometer är mer exakt än en stegmotor och medelvärdet av de relativa felen i vertikala riktningen är alltid högre. Värdena skiljer sig från 1 procentenhet till 3 procentenheter. Skillnaden i prestanda för de två motorerna beror på flera faktorer och en av huvudfaktorerna anses vara det faktum att stegmotorn ibland hoppar över steg.

The master's thesis deals with the basic parts and principles of CNC machines with a focus on a CNC milling machine. There are also comparisons of several CNC machines sold. Furthermore, the project deals with the description of the manipulator, which is situated in laboratory E-132 in area Kolejní 4, Brno. The work also includes a description of the device, which is located in the manipulator model. We can find there a description of the program generating G-code from the image that you create in the editor. The next section describes possible modifications of the manipulator for its reconstruction on a CNC milling machine. The last chapter deals with the description of program developed for controlling the manipulator as a CNC milling machine.

This diploma thesis deals with the design and construction of a three-axis CNC machine primarily designed for PCB drilling and production of front panels for various electronic devices. All three axes are driven by stepper motors NEMA 23 which are connected to stepper motor drivers L6470. Processor STM32F407 is used to control the whole machine. The wiring is completed by a LCD display with touchscreen which is used to communicate with user. Data for drilling can be entering manually or via USB inerface. Part of this thesis is the selection of a suitable construction and components, assembling equipment, wiring design of electronic circuits and writing the code to control the machine. Finally, the parameters of the designed device have been measured.

O objetivo geral da pesquisa consiste em esclarecer e discutir a contribui??o original de Martin Heidegger para a reflex?o filos?fica sobre a ess?ncia da t?cnica moderna. Para tanto, estruturou-se o percurso interpretativo da presente disserta??o em dois momentos fundamentais. Em um primeiro momento, apresentamos a interpreta??o heideggeriana da ess?ncia da era moderna que, por sua vez, ser? reconhecida a partir do fundamento metaf?sico que funda a ess?ncia da ci?ncia moderna, qual seja: a subjetividade que representa, calcula, controla e produz o real. Veremos que, nesse contexto, a ci?ncia moderna foi pensada ainda ao lado da t?cnica moderna, o que vai mudar consideravelmente a partir dos escritos do p?s-guerra, nos quais Heidegger pensa a ci?ncia moderna a partir de um processo muito mais amplo e fundamental em que j? vem se desdobrando a ess?ncia da t?cnica. Assim, em um segundo momento, analisaremos de que modo, para Heidegger, a moderna metaf?sica da subjetividade atingiu o seu acabamento na ?poca da t?cnica moderna a partir do princ?pio de controle e planifica??o dos entes em geral (Gestell), revelando o sentido n?o-t?cnico da t?cnica (para al?m da vis?o antropol?gica, humanista e instrumental) bem como o car?ter amea?ador da t?cnica moderna em seu projeto de convers?o do ente em fundo de reserva (Bestand).
The general objective of this research is to clarify and discuss the original contribution of Martin Heidegger's philosophical reflection on the essence of modern technique. For this purpose, it was structured the interpretative course of this dissertation in two essential moments. At first, we present Heidegger's interpretation of the essence of the modern age which, in turn, will be recognized from the metaphysical foundation that establishes the essence of modern science: the subjectivity that represents, calculates, manages and produces the real. We will see which, in this context, modern science was still thought close to the modern technology, what will change considerably from the writings of the post-war, in which Heidegger thinks modern science from a much broader and essential process in that the essence of the technique has already been unfolding. Thus, in a second moment, we will analyze how, for Heidegger, the modern metaphysics of subjectivity reached its completion at the time of modern art from the principle of control and planning of entities in general (Gestell), revealing the nontechnical sense of the technique (beyond the anthropological, humanistic and instrumental view) as well as the threatening character of modern technique in its conversion project of the entity from the reserve fund (Bestand).

This paper provides a current review of a new installed system test facility (ISTF) capability for the Air Force and Navy. The requirements, design characteristics, and status of the joint-service Communications, Navigation, Identification Simulator (CNIS) developments will be covered along with their relationships with the Air Force’s Avionics Test and Integration Complex (ATIC) and the Navy’s Air Combat Environment Test and Evaluation Facility (ACETEF) ISTFs. These developments provide the services an interactive spatially, temporally, and tactically coherent signal environment for development and operational test and evaluation. The Joint Communications Simulator (JCS) and Joint Data Link Simulator (JDLS) capabilities, integration aspects, and development schedules (2000 IOC) will also be addressed. Finally, installed system test and evaluation concepts, both Air Force and Navy, using the simulators will be previewed to assist upcoming development programs in identifying potential applications.

O objeto de estudo dessa dissertaÃÃo trata da chegada da CNEC â Campanha Nacional das Escolas da Comunidade ao Cearà no final da dÃcada de 1950 e inÃcio da dÃcada de 1960 e suas implicaÃÃes no desenvolvimento do ensino secundÃrio no Estado. Trata-se de uma anÃlise da situaÃÃo do ensino secundÃrio no Cearà e as contribuiÃÃes deixadas pela Campanha que fundou mais de 80 escolas em pelo menos 40 municÃpios cearenses, ao longo de 50 anos. A CNEC surgiu em 1943, na cidade de Recife, como Campanha do Ginasiano Pobre e a idÃia partiu do estudante Felipe Tiago Gomes, à Ãpoca secundarista que junto com outros colegas resolveram preparar alunos carentes de recursos para dar continuidade aos estudos, alÃm do ensino primÃrio. Depois de fundar o primeiro ginÃsio, resolveram expandir para todo o Brasil, chegando ao Cearà em 1958, oficialmente, com a inauguraÃÃo do primeiro setor local, condiÃÃo necessÃria para se criar um colÃgio cenecista. O objetivo à refletir sobre o ensino secundÃrio no CearÃ, entre os anos de 1958 a 1963, e entender as circunstÃncias que favoreceram a entrada, expansÃo e permanÃncia da CNEC no cenÃrio educacional cearense. A metodologia utilizada para essa pesquisa baseia-se numa abordagem do tipo compreensiva, estruturada nas anÃlises da leitura teÃrica histÃrica e filosÃfica da educaÃÃo da Ãpoca em apreÃo, pesquisa de fontes primÃrias ligadas à CNEC e à jornais da Ãpoca, documentos governamentais e entrevistas com remanescentes do perÃodo analisado. A partir da leitura teÃrica e histÃrica, encontramos que as estruturas patrimonialistas e paternalistas no Brasil, dominavam ainda as estruturas educacionais no Estado do CearÃ, o que nÃo impediu que houvesse uma crescente demanda escolar que por sua vez pressionou o Estado a criar mais vagas para atender a populaÃÃo. O Estado do Cearà sofreu com calamidades naturais nos anos de 1958 e 1960, seca e enchente respectivamente, o que contribuiu ainda mais para resolver a deficiÃncia de ensino. A CNEC foi usada pelo Governo do Cearà para desafogar o sistema e aliviar a pressÃo, chegando inclusive a firmar convÃnios. Encontramos que a CNEC foi a principal responsÃvel pela expansÃo do ensino ginasial nos municÃpios cearenses, atà entÃo servidos basicamente de escolas primÃrias, criando em torno das escolas verdadeiras ilhas de urbanizaÃÃo. As escolas eram construÃdas em terrenos afastados da cidade, doados por membros da comunidade e contava com subvenÃÃes federais, estaduais e municipais, alÃm de pequenas contribuiÃÃes pagas pelos pais dos alunos. Entendemos que a CNEC em muito contribuiu para diminuir o Ãndice de evasÃo escolar nos municÃpios cearenses, porque os alunos nÃo precisavam se deslocar para a capital do Estado a fim de continuar seus estudos. This dissertation is about the emergence of the CNECâ Campanha Nacional das Escolas da Comunidade (National Campaign of Community Schools) in the late 1950âs and early 1960âs and its implications in the development of the secondary school teaching in the State of CearÃ. This is an analysis of the situation of the secondary teaching, in Cearà and the contributions of the CNEC, which founded 80 schools in at least 40 cities in Cearà throughout a 50-year period. The CNEC was created in the City of Recife in 1943 as the âCampanha do Ginasiano Pobreâ (The Poor Secondary Student Campaign), which was the idea of the secondary student Felipe Tiago Gomes whom, together with some colleagues, decided to help poor students to continue their studies beyond the primary level. After founding the first secondary school, they decided to expand the idea to the rest of the country, and in Cearà it was officially created in 1958 with the opening of the first State Section, a necessary condition for a CNEC school to be created. This work presents a reflection on the secondary teaching in Cearà from 1958 to 1963 and tries to figure out the circumstances which favored the emergence, expansion and permanence of the CNEC in the educational scenario of CearÃ. The methodology used in this research is based on the comprehensive approach which encompasses the analysis of texts on the theory, history and philosophy of education at that time, research of primary sources from CNEC, newspapers, governmental papers and interviews with remaining CNEC personnel of the period investigated. Through the readings of the theory and history of education, we found out that the Brazilian patriarchal and patrimonial social structures of that time still dominated the educational structures in CearÃ, even so, it did not prevent the growing demand of schools and forced the State to open school vacancies to attend the population. The Government of Cearà created a partnership with the CNEC, which was used to tap the educational system and relieve the pressure for school vacancies. We also found out that the CNEC was the main responsible for the expansion of the secondary teaching (fifth to eighth grades) in the municipalities of the State which, at that moment, basically only had primary schools. In fact, these secondary schools were turned into real âislands of urbanizationâ. They were built in lots far away from the towns. These lots were donated by community members and the schools would count on federal, state and municipal financial support in addition to small contributions paid by the studentsâ parents. We understand that the CNEC also contributed a lot helping to reduce the rates of school evasion in the municipalities of Cearà because the students did not have to move out of their hometowns to the capital of the State in order to continue their studies.

AASS (Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems, Centrum för Tillämpade Autonoma Sensorsystem) arbetar med forskning inom autonoma system. Deras stora användningsområden är utveckling av automatiska system till fordonsindustrin samt system till äldrevården. AASS, har ett önskemål om en enklare modell av en CNC fräs för enklare fräsning till bland annat prototyptillverkning. Fokus ska ligga på kostnaden då precisionen inte är av största intresse. Uppdraget innebär att ta fram en konstruktion av en cnc- router med tre axlar med ett arbetsrum på 600x450x150mm. Maskinen ska kunna skära i mjuka material som trä, plaster men även mjukare aluminium. Resultatet är en tre axlig cnc- router som drivs av tre stycken stepmotorer som är kopplade till respektive kulskruv. Cnc routern har ett arbetsrum på cirka 600x450x150mm. Den klarar av skärkrafter på 150N utan att deformationer kommer ge stora felaktiga värden på bearbetad detalj. Konstruktionen består till huvuddel av aluminiumprofiler som finns tillängliga på Örebro universitet. De rörliga delarna består av Quadro Tables som tillverkas av Rollco. Konstruktionen ger en bra lösning till en relativt låg kostnad.
AASS (Applied Autonomous Sensor Systems, Center for Applied Autonomous Sensor) works with research in autonomous systems. Their major application is the development of such systems for the automotive industry as well for the elderly.  AASS, have a desire for a simple model of a CNC milling machine for milling smaller parts for prototyping. The focus should be on cost when precision is not of great interest.  The mission is to develop a design of a CNC router with three axes with a workspace of 600x450x150mm. The machine should be able to cut soft materials such as wood, plastics as well as soft aluminum.  The result is a three-axis CNC router which is driven by three stepper motors which are coupled to respective ball screw. The Cnc router has a workspace of about 600x450x150mm. It is capable of cutting with cutting forces up to 150N without deformations that will produce large errors in values of processed detail. The design consists of main body of aluminum profiles available at Örebro University. The movable parts consist of Quadro Tables manufactured by Rollco. The design provides a good solution to a relatively low cost.

O cadastro de imóveis rurais no Brasil é administrado pelas instituições federais Instituto Nacional de Colonização e Reforma Agrária INCRA e Receita Federal do Brasil RFB, sendo o INCRA responsável pelo aspecto fundiário e a RFB pelo tributário. Em 2001 foi publicada a Lei 10.267 que determinou a criação do Cadastro Nacional de Imóveis Rurais CNIR, tendo como objetivo compartilhar dados sobre o meio rural com órgãos da administração pública que necessitam de informações sobre este tipo de imóvel. A lei também estabeleceu a exigência de georreferenciamento de imóveis rurais nos casos de alterações de seus limites (desmembramento, parcelamento ou remembramento). Em 2008, foi instituída a Infraestrutura Nacional de Dados Espaciais INDE com a finalidade de promover a utilização, a produção e o compartilhamento dos dados geoespaciais pelos órgãos da administração pública, de responsabilidade da Comissão Nacional de Cartografia CONCAR. Esta pesquisa teve como objetivo analisar as características do CNIR, no sentido de possibilitar sua futura integração a INDE. São apresentadas as normas para a implantação, no Brasil e em outros países, das Infraestruturas de Dados Espaciais e desenvolvida uma simulação de implantação do CNIR seguindo as especificações da INDE. Para a avaliação da possibilidade de futura integração do CNIR à INDE, foram analisadas as especificações de dados e metadados, como também os planos de implantação da INDE. Como resultados da pesquisa, são identificados os elementos a serem incluídos na INDE, de acordo com recomendações internacionais, para a integração do cadastro rural a este sistema. As principais adaptações referem-se às especificações técnicas relacionadas à Aquisição de Dados Geoespaciais Vetoriais e à Estrutura de Dados Geoespaciais Vetoriais. Verificou-se que as especificações sobre os Metadados não necessitam de modificações para a inserção da unidade parcela, pois este tipo de dado é comum a todos os dados geoespaciais. Teoriaosuudessa tarkastellaan mistä osista LTE-tekniikka koostuu ja mitkä ovat keskeisiä asioita LTE-tekniikan mahdollistamassa suuremmassa datan siirtonopeudessa verrattuna 3G tekniikkaan. 5G-tekniikkaan liittyen esitellään 5G:n perusideat ja miksi se mahdollistaa entistä suuremmat datan siirtonopeudet ja pienemmät latenssit kuin 4G-tekniikka. Tämän työn lopussa on esitelty tekemäni IoT-sovellus, jossa CNC-jyrsimestä voidaan mitata tärinäarvoja käyttäen ADIS16227 värinäsensoria, joka on liitetty Raspberry Pi -tietokoneeseen. Lopuksi pohditaan tämän sovellutuksen rajoitteita ja käyttökohteita
In the beginning of this thesis I make a literature overview of the basics of LTE technology and the possibilities of 5G technology and IoT applications. In the theory part I review what makes LTE technology and what are the key principles that allow greater data rates compared to 3G. The very basics of 5G technology is introduced. I also review why 5G technology allows greater data rates and lower latency compared to 4G technology. In the end of this thesis I present IoT application I have made that allows to examine vibration from CNC milling machine. For measuring the vibration ADIS16227 vibration sensor is connected with Raspberry Pi computer. Finally, I consider what can be done with this IoT application and what constraints it may have

The art of tattooing has been around for centuries in human history and tattoos are still very popular in today’s society. Tattoos serve as a way to, for example, express people’s personalities, religious beliefs, or culture, and its growing popularity may lead to the need for more technological and automated alternatives. In this project, a computer numerical control plotter was built to investigate the possibilities of automation of tattooing, and the project focused on the possible limitations of performance and safety in an automated tattooing machine. The machine was built using two stepper motors connected with an H-Bot configuration that moved a gantry in the X and Y directions. A third stepper motor connected to a lead-screw was mounted on the gantry enabling movement in Z direction. Several tests were conducted in order to examine the performance of the machine. These tests were done using ink and whiteboard markers to draw different geometries on paper and the subject’s arm. The results showed limitations in the size of the tattoo as the machine could only draw on a flat surface and therefore had trouble adjusting to the uneven surface of an arm. The results also showed that the machine had some trouble drawing rounded geometries, such as circles, which meant that the circles, to a certain extent, got an elliptical appearance. It did however draw straight lines accurately. The main factors of this were believed to be a combination of sub-optimal assembly and the stepper motors being too weak to optimally operate with the H-Bot configuration. The safety risks were considered restricted when using a limit switch sensor and carefully calibrating the speed and movement in the Z-axis.
Tatueringskonsten har funnits i århundraden och tatueringar är fortfarande mycket populära i dagens samhälle. Tatueringar fungerar bland annat som ett sätt att uttrycka människors personligheter, religion eller kultur. Dess växande popularitet kan leda till ett behov av tekniska och automatiserade alternativ. I detta projekt byggdes en CNC-plotter för att undersöka möjligheterna till automatisering av tatueringar och projektet fokuserade på möjliga begränsningar av prestanda och säkerhet hos en automatiserad tatueringsmaskin. Maskinen byggdes med två stegmotorer anslutna med en H-Bot-konfiguration som flyttade en brygga i X- och Y-riktningarna. En tredje stegmotor ansluten till en ledskruv monterades på bryggan vilket möjliggjorde rörelse i Z-led. Flera tester genomfördes för att undersöka maskinens prestanda. Dessa tester gjordes med hjälp av bläck- och tuschpennor för att rita olika geometriska former på papper och testpersoners armar. Resultaten visade begränsningar i tatueringsstorleken eftersom maskinen bara kunde rita på en plan yta och därför hade problem med att anpassa sig till den ojämna ytan av en arm. Resultaten visade också att maskinen hade vissa problem med att rita runda geometrier, så som cirklar, vilket medförde att cirklarna, till en viss grad, fick ett elleptiskt utseende. Den ritade dock raka linjer med bra noggrannhet. De största anledningarna till detta tros vara en kombination av bristfällig montering och att stegmotorerna var för svaga för att optimalt kunna fungera med H-Bot-konfigurationen. Abstract:
The intent of the thesis is to automate the generation of computer numerical control (CNC) codes from geometrical computer-aided design (CAD) models. The work is carried out using two machines, the MDX 40A milling machine, and the HAAS VM3 machine. The case study is to determine the potential in automating the code generation process. The empirical findings from the research studies reveal that the manual process for programming the codes for the models pose a challenge of consuming more time using the procedures in computer-aided manufacturing and manual operations performed by a programmer. One crucial factor to meet these requirements is the productivity of the machining process. Design automation for machining is the potent tool to increase productivity in this process. The main methods used in the study to fulfill the main objective of the thesis are addressed. The programming of the code is automated for these two machines and the outcome is compared with the manual approach. The need of automating the codes is to provide better accuracy and efficiency. Further, automation is beneficial as it increases the capability to accommodate the new changes in the design of the model. The conclusion drawn from the results of the study is that the automation for code programming results in increasing the speed of the machining process by reducing time consumption. Though the approach of automating codes is carried out for two machines, the potential of this approach is that the code generation process is not dependant on the post-processor of any specific machine

This dissertation presents two essays on the relationship between technical change and the natural environment. In the first essay, we discuss the view of technical progress to four representatives of Classical Political Economy: William Petty, Adam Smith, David Ricardo and Karl Marx. This essay analyzes the form they approach the technical progress, characterized by the increasing adoption of machinery in the production process, adding up the view of each author regarding land and natural resources in the growth of nations. While the technical progress concept evolves from the first to the last author, nature?s view is distinct. Petty and Marx define the natural environment as a part of a natural law and as a part of human essence, respectively. Smith and Ricardo reduce natural environment to an input, making it the main economic growth limiter for the latter. In the second essay, we analyze the technical progress and the production of good and bad outputs in Brazilian economy in the 1970-2008 period. We adopt a study system of production and technical progress based on a classical-Marxian perspective, in which the work, capital and energy input combination generates a good output, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and a bad output, carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions. We divide Brazilian economic growth in four phases, according to the development strategy adopted in each period: 1970-1980, 1980-1989, 1989-2003 and 2003-2008. The predominant pattern of technical progress was Marx-biased and energy-saving. In GDP growth years, the bad output also increased.
Esta disserta??o apresenta dois ensaios sobre a rela??o entre progresso t?cnico e meio ambiente. No primeiro ensaio, discute-se a vis?o de progresso t?cnico e natureza para quatro representantes da Economia Pol?tica Cl?ssica: William Petty, Adam Smith, David Ricardo e Karl Marx. O objetivo deste ensaio ? analisar a forma como abordam o progresso t?cnico, caracterizado pela crescente ado??o de maquinaria no processo produtivo, somado ? vis?o de cada autor a respeito da terra e dos recursos naturais no crescimento das na??es. Enquanto o conceito de progresso t?cnico evoluiu do primeiro ao ?ltimo autor, a vis?o da natureza ? distinta. Petty e Marx definem o meio ambiente em uma ordem natural e como parte da ess?ncia do ser humano, respectivamente. Smith e Ricardo reduzem o meio ambiente a um insumo, tornando-se o principal limitador do crescimento para este ?ltimo. No segundo ensaio, analisa-se o progresso t?cnico e a produ??o de bons e maus produtos na economia brasileira no per?odo 1970-2008. Adota-se um sistema de estudo de produ??o e progresso t?cnico baseado em uma perspectiva cl?ssico-marxiana, em que a combina??o dos insumos trabalho, capital e energia geram um bem, o Produto Interno Bruto (PIB), e um mal, as emiss?es de di?xido de carbono (CO2). Divide-se o crescimento econ?mico brasileiro em quatro fases, de acordo com a estrat?gia de desenvolvimento adotada em cada ?poca: 1970-1980, 1980-1989, 1989-2003 e 2003-2008. O padr?o de progresso t?cnico predominante foi Marx-viesado e poupador de energia. Nos anos de crescimento do PIB, o mau produto tamb?m aumentou.

Wireless Sensors Network (WSN) based systems, are traditionally used to monitor events in places with limited human access. A WSN is formed by a group of devices called sensors node, each responsible for transporting monitored data to a certain destination and performing other programmed tasks in order to comply with further objectives of the proposed system. Since power consumption is one of the main challenges associated to the use of WSNs, techniques to minimize such energy consumption of a complete WSN or even in one sensor node, have been object of extended research. Maximizing the lifetime of the network can be obtained throughout better data package management or by reducing the adopted transmission power, for example. It is important to note that this optimization is limited by the process delay of the sensor node itself, as well as by interference causing an increased error rate, which itself affects the data packet transmission between source and destination. In this context, this work proposes a technique able to stimulate individually tailored behavioral changes regarding the data packets analysis and the consumption energy thought certain transmission path in each sensor node. It called Path Energy Control Technique (PECT).In more details, the PECT is based on the adjustment of the power transmission from on the analysis of the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) and a quality metric is assigned to paths, where the data packets flow between nodes. This metric is calculate from the efficiency in the data packet?s reception, from the disturbance in the path, as well as the data packet sending frequency due the number of sensors nodes for the specific neighborhood. It should be mention the PECT technique will be represented by a algorithm to be development in this work which will be implemented at application level, guarantying portability, independent from the hardware used for the WSN. In addition, the PECT is able to manage the data transmission frequency and to support different network topologies, including multipath topologies. Finally, the PECT technique is validated through simulations and the results were obtained from the evaluation of the efficiency. The techniques? robustness is analyzed and compared with other techniques from literature.
Sistemas baseados em Rede de Sensores Sem Fio (RSSF) s?o tradicionalmente utilizados para monitorar eventos em ?reas onde o acesso ? limitado. Uma RSSF ? formada por um conjunto de dispositivos chamados de nodos sensores, os quais t?m a miss?o de transportar os dados monitorados para um determinado destino e executar as tarefas programadas para cumprir com os objetivos do sistema proposto. T?cnicas que visam minimizar o consumo de energia de RSSF ou at? mesmo de apenas um nodo sensor v?m sendo objeto de v?rias pesquisas, uma vez que a energia representa um dos desafios relacionados ao uso de RSSF. A maximiza??o da vida ?til da rede pode ser obtida a partir de uma melhor gest?o dos pacotes de dados ou at? mesmo a partir da redu??o da pot?ncia de transmiss?o adotada, por exemplo. Note que essa maximiza??o ? limitada no momento em que se observa um aumento da taxa de erros em fun??o da interfer?ncia que, por sua vez, afeta a transmiss?o dos pacotes de dados entre a origem e o destino, bem como em fun??o do pr?prio atraso do processamento no nodo sensor. Neste contexto, o presente trabalho prop?e uma t?cnica capaz de modificar individualmente o comportamento de cada nodo sensor a partir da an?lise dos pacotes de dados e da energia consumida por um determinado caminho de transmiss?o Path Energy Control Technique (PECT).Em mais detalhes, a t?cnica baseia-se no ajuste da pot?ncia de transmiss?o a partir da an?lise do Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) e de uma m?trica de qualidade que ser? atribu?da ao caminho que os dados trafegam na rede entre os nodos. Abstract:
La crête neurale céphalique (CNC) est une structure pluripotente à l'origine de la totalité du squelette de la face et de la voûte crânienne. L'absence de la CNC est associée à des malformations du cerveau antérieur et des défauts oculaires qui reproduisent les malformations congénitales humaines: microcéphalie, holoprosencéphalie, aniridie, chambre antérieure manquante, colobome congénital, désorganisation du cristallin, agénésie des paupières, strabisme précoce (Alward 2000, Creuzet 2009, Williams and Bohnsack 2015). Dans notre étude, l'augmentation hétérochronique de la signalisation Bmp7 au niveau de la plaque préchordale (PPC) a engendré une perturbation de la migration de la CNC associée à une fusion des deux champs oculaires en un seul œil cyclope. Cette cyclopie, contrairement aux études antérieures (Chiang et al. 1996, Golden et al. 1999) est précédée par une perturbation de la constriction apicale au niveau des vésicules optiques (VO) au stade Hamburger-Hamilton (HH) 12 et qui est responsable de l'invagination dorsale des VO et leur séparation du reste du tube neural. Au niveau moléculaire, nous avons enregistré une augmentation de la signalisation Wnt1 très tot après le traitement (2h) dans la CNC. Cette augmentation s'étend rostralement ce qui suggère que Wnt1 pourrait etre impliqué dans la perturbation du développement oculaire. Pour tester cette hypothèse, nous avons tenté des expériences de sauvetage par l'inactivation de la signalisation Wnt1 par ARN interférence. Nous avons observé une amélioration du phénotype mais les yeux sont restés morphologiquement en hypotélorisme, c'est-à-dire trop proches. Des coupes coronales au stade E8 (32-33HH) ont montré que les yeux sont synophtalmiques, deux yeux dans un seul orbite, et sont restés fusionnés au télencéphale. Au niveau moléculaire, nous avons observé aussi une diminution de l'expression de Wnt2b au niveau des VO chez l'embryon cyclope et que cette diminution persiste malgré le sauvetage par Wnt1. Pour comprendre cette signalisation, nous avons tenté une deuxième expérience de sauvetage avec ARN interférence contre Wnt1 et un vecteur plasmidique exprimant Wnt2b dans le tube neural et les VO respectivement. Vers E8 l'embryon ressemble au contrôle mais avec persistance de fusion entre les VO et le télencéphale. L'hybridation in situ a montré une diminution du niveau d'expression de Foxg1 à 12HH dans la partie dorsale des VO au niveau de la frontière entre la partie rostrale du diencéphale et le télencéphale (RD/T) dans les deux tentatives de sauvetage ce qui suggère que ce gène pourrait être impliqué dans la séparation rostrale des VO du télencéphale
Cephalic neural crest (CNC) is a pluripotent structure giving rise to entire skeleton of the face and skull. Absence of CNC is associated with forebrain and eye defects that mimic human congénital malformations: microcephaly, holoprosencephaly, aniridia, missing anterior chamber, coloboma, congenital dislocation of the lens, agenesis of eyelid and early strabismus. (Alward 2000 Creuzet 2009, Williams and Bohnsack 2015). In our study, heterochronic increased Bmp7 signaling in the prechordal plate (Pcp), caused disruption of CNC migration associated with fusion of two optical fields into one cyclopic eye. This cyclopia, unlike previous studies (Chiang et al. 1996, Golden et al. 1999), is preceded by a disturbance of the apical constriction in optic vesicles at Hamburger-Hamilton (HH)12 stage witch is responsible for dorsal invagination of OVs and their separation from the rest of the neural tube. At the molecular level, we recorded an increase in Wnt1 expression very early after treatment (2h) in CNC and this increase extends rostrally suggesting that Wnt1 could be involved in the disturbance of eye development. To test this hypothesis, we attempted rescue experiments by inactivating Wnt1 signaling by RNA interference and we observed an improvement of the phenotype but the eyes remained morphologically in hypotelorism, too close,. At E8 (32-33HH) stage the eyes are remained fused to the forebrain and are synophtalmic, two eyes in a single orbit,. We also observed a decrease in Wnt2b expression in OV in the cyclopic embryo and that this decline persists despite Wnt1 rescue. To understand Wnt2b signaling, we attempted a second rescue experience with RNA interference against Wnt1 and a plasmid vector expressing Wnt2b in the CNC and OV respectively. Coronal sections at E8 stage resemble the control but with persistence of dorsal fusion between OVs and telencephalon. In situ hybridization showed a decrease in Foxg1 expression at 12HH in the dorsal part of OVs in the RD/T boundry in the two rescue attempts suggesting that this gene may be involved in the separation of OVs at 12HH stage rostrally from the telencephalon
