The mesoporosity allows for the material to retain their nanoproperties whilst being bulk in size. In this study, nickel and cobalt nitrates with adequate ratio were mixed and heated at 300˚C for 24 h. Single-phase NiCo2O4 spinel was obtained. However, when the spinel powder were heated at temperatures 500˚C, 1000˚C, and 1500˚C, (Ni, Co)O solid solution with rock-salt structure appeared with consumption of NiCo2O4 spinel. Diamond cuboid-, rhombohedron- and hexagon-shaped nanocrystals as well as branched rods of the solid solution Co1-xMnxO have been synthesized via a solvothermal synthetic route from manganese formate and cobalt acetate at elevated temperature. Rhombohedra and hexagons have dimensions no larger than 50 nm on the longest axis, rods have branches up to 150 nm long and cuboids grow up to 250 nm on a side. The small amount of Co2+ substitution on Ba(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 and non-stoichiometry of Ba(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O3 were both investigated. The experimental results show that the ordering degree, mean grain size, and quality factor were increasing by small amount Co2+ substitution from x = 0.01 to x = 0.05, and could get an optimal value of quality factor at x = 0.05 (S = 92%, Q x f = 40,000 GHz).
